(over a two week period) I called him today and he told me he'd be able to do the job in the next couple of days but I'd have to call the office to schedule. After one rep not calling me back this morning I called a few hours later and told her I was supposed to get a call back for my scheduled trimming. She called me back shortly and said Carlos thought I was scheduling an estimate (even though I clearly told him I had an estimate and a price) They then told me they where scheduled out to December. With this much effort just to schedule a job I think your money is best spent elsewhere. read more

I had 2 guys come out and trimmed my tree and removed all the dead pine needles. I was satisfied with their work only issue I had was I had to ask them to do more cleaning of the dead pine needles around and under the tree when they said they were finished. I can't give any less than 5 stars. They gave me a great estimate for taking out 5 large palm tree's, grinding the stumps, and haul away. They also removed 3 smaller trees, and a few large birds of paradise. They worked fast given the amount of work they had to do. All 4 guys worked very hard and cleaned up the yard and debris afterward perfectly! Started at 9:00am done by 2:15. I have no idea how they finished so fast! We just purchased a house and it had a large tree out front and and three huge king palms. I had gotten a quote from one other company and was still waiting on another quote when Carlos came to quote. His quote was much less expensive so I gave him the work. He said he could come back that afternoon. His crew was there in less than two hours These two guys worked their butts off! They got both trees taken down and fronded the stumps. The then agreed to stay late and trim the reaming two king palms. My husband and I were both so impressed with the guys at our house. They worked hard and didn't waste any time. Called them on Thursday, and, by Friday noon, our front and backyard trees were trimmed and nice (with two trees completely removed, stump and all!). Carlos was super knowledgeable and helpful during the estimate. Originally, they quoted me 8am-3pm for two tree removals, one huge trim and shaping on an Elm, and topping on 3 Cypress trees and bougainvilla, along with the removal of a carrotwood tree, Mexican Palm and a Mulberry tree.... but they ended up bringing 3 excellent workers and they finished by 12pm. After examining their work, I asked for more branches to be removed, more trimming, and additional shaping on the cypress trees, they happily obliged. How many souls does it take to remove a tree? Four hunky men plus one terrified house cat! She thought she'd be a great supervisor til they turned on the chipper truck and the stump grinder ... then it was 500 mph to the nearest closet. Haha! Luckily the four hunky men had it all under control. So, I called four top-rated companies on Yelp, and this was the ONLY one who called me back. Guess the other guys just have more business than they need ... who wants to work with somebody too busy for great service??? Certainly not me. Carlos came out for an estimate and went above-and-beyond with his recommendations. He was very personable, and put me at ease with the process. The crew came out the very next day. They had every tool needed, and at least two crew members spoke English (I speak English only, so this was helpful). They were very cautious of a nearby window, and were careful with the landscaping, being sure to ask about sprinklers, water lines, and the fencing (which we're about to replace anyway). I appreciated their professionalism. These guys knew their stuff. And I appreciated their courtesies and I just couldn't be happier. Good job, guys! And P.S. to those other guys who are too busy to return a phone call? I'll be passing OC Tree Care's name around the neighborhood since our builder apparently knew nothing about types of trees and where to place them. I am not a person to put up bad reviews unless I truly feel that it is necessary. In today's case, I felt like the way Carlos, the owner handled my situation was something that should be mentioned because I wouldn't want anyone else to go through the same thing. Just now I had my pepper trees trimmed in my front yard. The crew showed up on time and I was asked what I wanted. I showed my quote given by Carlos in the past and also mentioned to the guy that there were long branches that were growing out of the area where you see the full growth. I just want those branches trimmed back just until the area where you see the round full area. He said he sees the area and said ok. They used the scissors and saw to cut down the large pieces and that was fine. I walked away and then went back to see that one guy was going around and had snipped off literally every little branch with leaves off the braches until pretty much no leaves were left. I tried to get the guy's attention to tell him while he kept cutting and cutting but it was too late. I had them stop but the pepper trees just looked bald at this point. So I called Carlos to mention what had happened. (I had used his services previouslyfor a trim). At first he asked me if I communicated what I wanted to the guy. Yes. I told the guy what i wanted, just a trim. Then he mentioned I was supposed to tell him to do it how it was done last time. That last time was a year or so ago and I don't even know if the guys here were the same as last time. Then he goes on to say it was a crown reduction written on the quote and so what I got is what is written on the paper. I mentioned how I explained to the guy what I wanted and what was executed was not what I asked for. I know at this point there wasn't a magical way to make my branches and leaves suddenly appear and he wasn't giving me any apology, so I asked if he could reduce the price instead. That's when he suddenly changed his attitude and said I only called and wanted a cheaper price and didn't want to pay the price he quoted me, so I was making this a big deal. Now, that is rude. I had 2 places give me the exact same quote, but I had gone with his service, because he did my job last time and it was fine. I am not going to call and complain and waste my energy on the phone and be blamed for making stuff up just so I can pay less. In fact, I already had a check written for the amount since I wasn't sure I would be around until completion. I mentioned to the guy who was at my house and he said I am sorry. He was a lot nicer and handled the situation better. But then he mentions to me AFTER, that he usually asks his clients if they want green or no green on their trees..... umm... you never asked me that question at the beginning! Anyways, if you don't want a headache or an owner who is rude and blames you for work that they did wrong, be my guest...go with them. I will find another trimmer in the meanwhile. read more

Their bid was comparable to the other one but they offered a deeper trunk grinding so I selected them. They arrived on time and removed my King Palm. Their trunk/Root grinder did not fit past my gate. So they returned the next day with a smaller one and complete the job. They cleaned up after them selves. My neighbor and I contracted to have trees removed (his was a Magnolia and mine were a Carrotwood and a big, fat Ficus). Carlos came out as arranged on a Tuesday morning and the estimate was very reasonable. After we made the choice to move forward with them Carlos said he could have a crew out in an hour or two since they were just finishing a job in HB. The crew from OC Tree Care showed up mid-day and took down two of the trees (and ground the stumps) and got much of my "Worlds Biggest Ficus" done in that single afternoon. They returned in the morning as promised and finished the job on the ficus. I spend a lot of time shopping around and making sure I get the right price and value for any services I use. I am really impressed with this company. The three man crew arrived on time and tackled a huge job quickly and left my property cleaner than when they arrived. OC Tree Care came out and trimmed several large trees which had become overgrown and were touching the house. They also trimmed our cypress trees and cut down several dead fruit trees. The trimmed trees looked really healthy after the trimming, not severely over-trimmed as I have seen in other yards in the neighborhood. I was given an appointment time of 8 am-9 am for the workers to arrive. They arrived at 8 am and were all neat and polite. I was amazed at how thorough their cleanup was. I have had OC Tree care work on trees at my house on two occasions. Once to cut down a palm and trim two large palms and the second time to cut down the two large palms. Their pricing is very fair. These guys are serious pros! I had them cut down a 50 foot Eucalyptus tree that was hanging over my roof and in a very difficult location with finesse.
