Wonderful staff and excellent doctors. We never had to wait more than 5 minutes for our appointments. My teen needed contact lenses for the first time & his exam was a breeze. The staff was very patient in teaching him how to put in the contacts in his eyes. His trial prescription arrived in 2 days and once again, the staff took the time in making sure he felt comfortable putting his lenses into his eyes. I also have received my eye exams at this facility and each time, I am greeted with a smile and given good care. I would recommend to purchase your frames elsewhere, though, if your insurance allows. Frames here are high-end and expensive, in my opinion. Took my prescription & purchased my glasses at Costco for about $100 less than what I have paid at this office in the past. Contacts are a tad less at Costco too. Just a little tip. read more

Place is beautiful, Exam went very well. After picking my glasses out was told it would be 5-7 days, it has been over 2 weeks still nothing. Also the webpge says if you print your own paper work and fill it out before your appointment you will get $5.00 off well I did and no discount was given??? First of all, they really pushed for me to get new RX sunglasses by saying I could get new frames for my regular glasses in a few months under my insurance plan...when it turns out that my insurance will only cover new frames every other year. So they either couldn't figure out my plan or they straight up lied in order to make a sale. Then they ordered a more expensive lens than I had asked for and then wanted me to pay significantly extra to cover their mistake. And they made me feel like I was some kind of scammer for refusing to pay for what I hadn't ordered (though the manager dropped this extra fee when she found out what the employee was asking me to do). While I was waiting for them to sort all this out, I noticed that another patron came in to pick up a pair of sunglasses and regular glasses. They had switched which lens went in each frame and then they were trying to talk him into accepting their mistake! The eye doctor is great, but the staff pulling this kind of stuff is just a horrible way to run a business. I won't be back. read more

It had been just about three years since I last had my eyes checked. Since we just moved to Costa Mesa we spotted this optometrist and decided to give it a shot. Every employee here is friendly and beyond helpful. The choice of frames is fantastic, and the overall appearance of the business is modern and very clean. Our optometrist is by far the best I have ever gone too. I honestly have never had more than just getting an exam and receiving a pair of glasses. By the time I left the exam room, I was aware of all my options, understood my vision, and the best choice for my situation. The staff on site helped me find awesome frames at a very reasonable price after insurance paid out. I have gone back several times since to explore other options for sport activities, and night driving and I could not be more pleased with all the solutions that were provided. Had to order more contacts lenses asap, after just realizing that I only had a few days of daily contacts left... I called and emailed them my prescription, then received my contacts just a couple of days later. I was really surprised at how it came in so quickly. And also with reasonable pricing. Rolando immediately helped me.I took a long time looking and trying on many pairs of glasses, and Rolando was very professional and patient with me. Very friendly and attentive staff. Doctors clearly explained all portions of the procedures. Easy in and out experience. Usually doctor visits give me slight anxiety, but they really put me at ease even though eye dilation is pretty uncomfortable. This is by far the best eye doctor experience I've had. The office staff, doctor and opticians are all friendly, professional and thorough. My husband and I both feel that this office has a staff that really cares about your eye health, getting you not only the right prescription, but the right glasses and make sure that they fit perfectly (even if you have to come back 3times for adjustments (like I did). I really appreciated their thoroughness, the expertise and the time they spent explaining my options with my eye insurance. I honestly went here because it was on my list of doctors that I could go to for my insurance. I also enjoyed their website, so I thought I would give it a shot. I am so happy I did. I have worn glasses since I was 11 years old, and my 1 experience here was the best experience I've ever had at any doctor. My appointment was with Dr. Mercer, and she was incredible. She explained everything in detail, did not seem like she was rushed (like most doctors), and she was simply fun. The front staff was also great. They needed to get my prescription from my glasses, and as I gave it to her, I mentioned that one of the nose pads fell off the week before, which prompted my realization that I hadn't had an eye appointment in a few years. She came back with my glasses, with brand new nose pads! That was unexpected, and started the appointment off great! The other person that was wonderful was Ahmad, the Optician who guided me through the process of choosing my new glasses. He was very professional, and really wanted to find me the perfect glasses. I was a little concerned that he was going to pick out the top 3 most expensive glasses they sold, but he did not. He picked out ones that were close to the ones I already had, and explained to me perfectly what to expect in pricing. I ended up choosing a cheaper pair and he did not try to up-sell me on a more expensive pair. He was very easy to work with. All in all, I have found my permanent eye doctor. I will recommend this office to anybody who asks. Every single employee made me feel like I was a king while I was there, and you can't ask much more then that. read more

I have had a hard time finding a pair of glasses that I felt looked right for me, and my search brought me to OC Eye Designs by the recommendation of a friend. The facility itself is very nice, modern, and staffed by very friendly associates. Renee helped me to find some glasses and showed me their large selection of well priced frames and eye wear. I am pretty picky about glasses and I tried on a ton, and Renee was very good at picking out stuff that looked nice, and she seemed very personable and friendly like the other staff I spoke with.
