We all know the oasis is a fabulous, one of kind location. The administration must be very difficult. On Sunday nights, you have developed a quasi "salsa" night. Not a true salsa night because there is more than salsa played. All clubs benefit from misleading the public this way. Advertise "Bachata" night and see how many people show up.
Oasis, on Sunday nights, benefits from this successful "Salsa" event by the food sales, the alcohol sales and more. I think we can agree that the combination of the location, the music, food and alcohol attribute to the successes of Sunday night. Correct?. Well you are about 40 percent correct in your assumption. You have forgot one crucial part: Salsa Dancers! Yes, the dancers are an integral part of the success. With that said . I find that your establishment is ignorant to this fact.
Let me explain why:
1. You have table and chairs on the dance floor. A dance floor is a dance floor, not a place to sit or have foot stools.
2. There is no management of the dance floor. Kids are running around everywhere. Amazing, a place that lets kids run around and act crazy. This is not possible any where else but here. Is this a playground ? Are you insured as a playground ?
3, You have no concern for the condition of the floors either inside or out side. the floor is like glue upstairs and outside you have a wood deck ! You have police but they do absolutely nothing about the smokers, even thought there is a sign that says "no smoking".
4. People are bringing in their own alcohol because your prices are to high. These people do nothing but act a fool because they are getting drunk.
5. The service during the salsa event is hit or miss. We have money to spend, but not if there is horrible service.
6. Sunday night is not an experiment; increase the size of the dance floor. remove a few tables!
7. Stop the "dance lessons. All the locals or any individuals that are true "Salseros" simply leave for 30 minutes. Why would anyone stop the momentum to learn quasi salsa lessons? The dance lessons should be before NOT in the middle of a salsa event.
8. Use a Salsa DJ when the band takes a break! People came to DANCE. Not a soul, learns anything helpful in 30 minutes of "quasi" dance lessons.
9. The stairs leading up to the 3rd floor are showing wear and tear and are not up to code. "IRC"
10. Clean out the vases on the stairs they are filled with trash.
11. Create a different route to get to the exterior salsa band outside. No one knows they are out there
11. Create a special section on your web page with information about salsa night. In reality whether you like it or not on Sunday, Salsa is the reason they are there.
12. Open Sunday night to other bands. The Brew are established, this doesn't need to be proven to me. However, the songs and format are old. I could go back 5 years in time and they would still being playing the same songs. I know other bands have filled in, but there are still other bands that are available.
13. Book salsa performance shows when the band takes a break. People came to see the View, whether it be the lake or "Dancers".
The above points of concern are minimal operating standards that exist around the world and are being neglected at Oasis.
I hope consideration is given to correct the above defects . read more
