I spend a great deal of time at The Domain. I asked myself why while I was back at the Domain again today. The Domain is now a sought-after destination - where shopping (casual and high-end), dining, night life and other fun experiences converge. You can go shopping, meet a friend for happy hour, or do something completely fun and adventurous in the course of the day or evening. One of my Finance groups hosts a monthly Finance meeting at The Domain. Shopping...some of my favorite fun stores are at the Domain such as J. Crew and Anthropologie. I love these two stores because they have unique goods at great prices, in general, and specifically, have amazing sales. If you are a big baller, you can shop at stores like Neiman Marcus, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Tiffany's and whole host of other high stores. I'm a tiny baller. Smile. Dining - At the Domain you can get reasonably priced foods to high end fare. Some of my favorite places to dine in the Domain include Glorias, Flower Child, Paul Martin's and Haywire. Important to note, most restaurants have great happy hours and associated amazing prices. Nightlife - Some say that The Domain (especially on Rock Rose Avenue) is the new 6th Street (known for its bars and Live music). I would not venture out that far. However, if you want to party in the wee hours of the night, you can do it at The Domain. Fun Experiences - You can transport yourself to fun such as IPIC movie theatre, Museum of Illusion or the Battle of the Games. Last weekend I discovered the Barkin Creek Dog Kitchen & Bath...so, The Domain is not only for humans. Love The Domain...I am sure I will see you there! read more

If Austin had a main character, it would absolutely be The Domain. This place is a full blown lifestyle, not just a shopping center, and I mean that literally because yes, you can live right above all this magic and I am still processing that level of convenience. It is giving chic city energy with a side of "oops I accidentally spent three hours here," between the endless lineup of shops, dreamy eateries, and that Rock Rose buzz that makes you want to stay out just a little longer. Everything feels polished but still fun, like Austin dressed up but kept its personality, and I was completely in my element the entire time. On a roadtrip, we stopped by to check out the LV store for any possible Austin exclusive items (lol) but they're closed due to what looks like water damage from a possible fire above. Outdoor mall with lots of popular stores like Neiman Marcus, Lululemon, Alo, Anthropologie, Bath & Body, Aritizia, and many more! An exclusive store that you can find here is the Coach Coffee Shop - there are only 2 in the US (New Jersey & Austin)! A lot of the retail staff are friendly and there seems to be stuff going on during the holidays, so definitely check it out. Also, lots of parking garages. read more

I enjoyed a good walk around The Domain today. I lived in the area back in 2013 when I first returned to live and work in Austin. I lived here for just about three years, and boy, has it grown since then. Lovely area with many beautiful shops and all decked out for the holidays! It is what it is. An outdoor mall with many restaurants and higher end stores. Parking is plentiful, but it's smart to know which garage is the right one for the businesses you want to visit. There seems to be a lot of foot traffic most of the time, so be prepared to keep your eyes open as you're trying to get to that parking place. read more

This is my favorite place to be on the weekends, but I also enjoy being there on the weekdays. It's a mixed-use place with high street and middle street stores with plenty of restaurants, coffee shops, hamburgers, and taco joints. There is even a Whole Foods at the far end of the Domain. You can live here too. There are multiple apartments throughout the Domain. Plus, there are plenty of sitting and grassy areas, which brings us to the best part. The Domain is filled with events every day. Most weekends, there's a concert in the park, yoga on the lawn, dog day for the pups, and the list goes on and on. The Domain never stops, it's lit up night and day. There are two parts, the beginning (Braker Lane) and the second part (Burnet Rd), which is even bigger. Another best part is that the parking is endless. Also, during the holidays, there's a golf cart service that will get you from one end to the next. My friends took me here while I was visiting Austin, and I totally get why people refer to it as Austin's "second downtown." The Domain has grown over the years was a fave spot each time I'd come down to North Austin when I lived in SA. That was 2017! Now I moved here in North Austin for a job and it's become a place where a mixture of high end and mid luxury stores are in one giant outdoor area. Lots of apartments, food places and the Museum of Ice Cream an addition. My favorites always: Neiman Marcus and lululemon. (The theater I haven't checked out). The parking space (pink F) has car wash detail while you shop! Shout out to Lululemon whose service always consistent. I'm a healthcare member-verified ID so I get member perks and this place is always organized and with helpful staff. I had purchased an outfit twice and was able to switch it to cute backpack and sling purse instead---with receipts of course and without a fuss plus a smile! I couldn't take pics as it's crowded! Next time :) Tory Burch---I love the shoes, footwear and purses. But this location with a better layout. Plus a hidden clean elegant unisex restroom! The staff was very professional and friendly. Zara is temporarily closed FYI. Overall, the Domain is a must go spot for leisure, fun activities for kids and adults, huge variety of restaurants, roofed parking areas and so much more. read more

I love what the domain has to offer. There truly is something for everyone here. Yes, parking can be a hassle and it can be crowded. I find myself coming here for specific visits. CPK when it was here. Kicking It to check out some shoes. Sweet greens for a Yelp event. Beard Papa's when it was around. This is a lovely hip area to enjoy so many things: *Music (bars and live music) *Food (restaurants, ice cream, snacks, bakeries) *Shopping (luxury and brand name stores) *Comedy *A run/walk *Stores You name it and you will probably find it here. It is beautiful at night and well lit. I saw Security officers at some of the bars and people seemed to be pretty laid-back. Some families were out walking with their children. Wherever we went, people were kind and provided us excellent service. Most importantly, the parking was free. So I think it's an area worth visiting. I can't really speak on value in regards to the stores but I will say that the tickets for the show at Cap City Comedy Club and ice cream at Jeni's were affordable. read more

I came to The Domain on a weekday. It was very quiet. People who live in Austin love this area since it has apartments, stores, shops, grocery stores, restaurants and parks for the kids. Since I am from a bigger city, these type of mini "neighborhoods" do not interest me as much but my friend wanted to show me this area. You will find cheap and high end stores. Whatever you fancy, it will be there. There is a lot of street or garage parking. There are a few entrances/exits but for some off reason it felt like it was hard to find since there were not an signs. The streets are not parallel so you may find yourself going in circles if you do not watch where you are going. read more

I'm giving it an extra star because of the dog park and the group of regulars I've come to know there but otherwise it's an outdoor mall with high-end apartments built in. I've lived in the Domain for a short while and as a resident it seems like a good option because 'everything' is there, in theory. However, the only grocery store is on the far end of the property, away from the apartments and it's a Whole Foods; I realize that The Domain is upscale but if you don't want to go to 'Whole Paycheck' for groceries then you'll have to go outside of the grounds. There are plenty of dining out options and most of them are ok. They can be pricey but not bad and mostly clustered around Domain North. It's an outdoor mall and whoever created it seems to forget how friggin crazy hot it gets. Last summer was the hottest on record and it doesn't seem to be getting any better this year either; it will definitely keep me from going there besides to let my pup run around. read more

This Domain has all the stores you can think of and a wide variety of restaurants. There are large parks near the restaurants where you can spend time with my children. All the stores we visited were fantastic including the excellent customer service. read more

It is such a big place. It s practically almost like a city. Maybe I'm exaggerating but you will need transportation if you go one end to the other end. The big department stores are apart. Dillards in one area and Macys at another area. It's all entry from outdoors. Not the typical mall indoors. I have to say that the place looks like a small community. There's even a square or a central area that looks like a park. It's actually pretty nice. There are coffee shops, shake shacks, fine dinning, local pubs, areas for kids, eclectic shops, rejuvenating spas, top movie theaters, events, great people watching, and sooooo much more! I mean where can you get a burger from hat creek, travel to Thailand for authentic Thai, have cake balls for desert and shop at Louis Vuitton, tesselaar, Neman Marcus, and the Apple store in just mins?! Literally a pub crawl here is a very short walk. Everything from local brews, to fine wine, to artisan craft cocktails. Patios with open areas, patios with privacy, or patios for people watching... I mean it is all here! Roof top lounges, game hall drinkeries, and hidden jems! Shop at the free people for the easy going bohemian look, or go full on trendy with the buckle, hit a specialty shop like everything but water for your beach needs, or go full on department store with Dillards. Not sure if I would recommend the place. I was harassed in the parking lot, it was stupid. The stores here are nice, but the security should be amped up. They have a lot of stores to choose from, some good deals here and there. I like Nordstroms quite a lot. They have good prices. I just feel the service the security does should be amped up a bit. read more

I've been coming to The Domain for over six years. It's the best shopping in Austin but compared to other cities, it's average. First off, the parking and traffic are insane. While there are many parking garages, the flow of traffic concentrates around one garage and one entrance/exit and it can take 10-15 minutes just to get onto the property and find a place to park. The elevator in the pink garage (the most convenient garage for the main shopping area) is always broken, including this past weekend, which was the final straw that led to this review. My mom has a disability and cannot use stairs or walk on steep inclines. I had to drop her off/pick her up from the bottom floor because we had to park several levels up. It was packed and it was a nightmare trying to fight the traffic in the garage. There is no traffic enforcement and the painted lanes on the streets within the Domain are faded, causing even more issues with cars. There is only one, small public restroom and it is always dirty with a long line. Some of the stores smell strongly of sewage. Sidewalks are narrow. The variety of the stores isn't great...lots of speciality stores or vacant units. Lackluster variety of restaurants too -- while they have a good selection of sit-down spots, there are no walk-up spots to grab a coffee/soda or quick snack. Closest thing is an overpriced smoothie shop or an overpriced milkshake shop. The layout is confusing and it's inconvenient to do a full loop on foot due to how they designed the landscaping and sidewalks. The Domain has a lot of potential. It's slowly improved over the years. But if you're looking for a stress-free shopping experience, at the very least avoid going on the weekends. read more

This seems to be a newer and up-and-coming area with beautiful apartments, a ton of bars and restaurants, and several places to shop. Parking is free and there are plenty of places to walk around and see the sights. There are a few rooftop bars on rock Rose Avenue that you have to check out, MINUS Wonder Bar which was a huge letdown. But this is an area I definitely would return to! read more

The only reason I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 is that the selection of stores is amazing! The issue with this place is the horrible traffic management! This is easily eased up (not fixed tho) by removing all these silly 4-way stop intersections, these are horrible to have in a place where people have no clue how to drive, let alone how to use a 4-way stop intersection. This is FACT, as I stayed at a hotel in this mixed-use development for 4 nights and driving in/out daily was ridiculously painful! People stop at these stop signs and stare at others, meanwhile, pedestrians cross without caring or consideration for the horrible traffic in droves, thus delaying traffic so bad, it's red on Waze on every road through the entire complex. I realize that most of the people who don't know how to proprely navigate these intersections also won't know how to properly handle a traffic circle, but the management of this complex needs to replace these stop signs with traffic circles. Also, you never stop incoming traffic, it needs to flow. Next thing, the pedestrians, it's normal to have tons of pedestrian traffic deep inside the plaza, like infront of the Nordstroms, and rightly so, traffic needs to stop. But on the perimeter road, going to the Purple garage as an example, pedestrains MUST STOP to let cars flow through, in/out. Those pedestrians MUST REALIZE they're about to get in their cars and simply sit in the garage trying to leave due to all the traffic, mostly cause by their "pedestrian privilege!" See, just like bad elections, poor traffic management has its consequences! I'll never come back to this area, let alone stay in this area if/when visiting Austin again! read more

I've visited a lot of states in my day but I've yet to DoMaine. Maybe at this mall, I can rectumfy that. Actually, I jest, my first American gf was here in Maine. The Domain is definitely one of the fanciest Malls I've ever been to. It's actually basically just several large city blocks with winding streets, full of high-end shops, which gets a little cramped when all the cars are stuck driving in and out of here but usually it moves fairly decently, and if you don't mind walking a decent distance to each store that you want to go to, it's a pretty cool area to shop. Very high-end and very fancy, and it will never be my favourite place to shop but it's also a very impressive creation. Not too far off the highway. Finally moved out!!! I'm sad to have to say this apartment complex was not what I expected it to be. No only in the year did I go through 3 different management companies, but my brand new 2022 truck was stolen from the gated parking lot. My guest also had there tires stolen on a different occasion. The key fob never seems to work when I need to get into the building and not just for me but others so most of the time the door to the building is left open with a rock. I guess being happy that for a 2bed/2bath it was cheap I paid the price in the long run. read more

We LOVE the domain in Austin! This area has everything we need when visiting and is close proximity to downtown. The actual domain mall is fun, trendy, has lots of great eateries and shops ... easily provides entertainment on many levels. The general area feels very diverse (love seeing all types of people), has plentiful hotels, dog friendly eateries (if you are bringing the pup) and all the stores/markets nearby (within few mile radius) ... meaning costco, wholefoods, sprouts, trader joes, target, etc. Area is safe, feels young ... a fave place to stay when visiting! read more
