A few newer shops I hadn't seen since my last visit and a few others that have since closed, but the old loves remained including the amazing Restoration Hardware here that is FOUR stories and loaded with every pretty thing you could ever want. Also some higher end jewelry stores like Gucci and David Yurman here. This is a huge complex with several parking decks and areas and it was extremely crowded by around noon-1pm on a Sunday. Great place to have lunch and shop - that RH is the thing of dreams!

I had a friend who lived in one of them, and when I came to visit, it was a pretty nice unit! They have community areas with BBQ grills, pool tables, stoves, etc. if you're hosting a get together or something. The Domain does also have a bunch of parking garages that are all color assigned, and are free to park at. They're all pretty easy to navigate, and there are maps all around the shopping center too. Overall, if you are looking to buy something in person or just like window shopping/want a place to hang that is pretty clean and also has bars/restaurants, the Domain is a pretty solid area to check out!

When you think of the Arboretum, you likely think of businesses from Capitol of Texas Highway and Research Blvd including Great Hills Trails and Jollyville Road areas. This area has evolved over the 25+ years we have lived nearby. Some anchor stores include the Cheesecake Factory, Soma, and Chico's in one section of the Arboretum. Another Area include Target, Jason's Deli and World Market. The Arboretum also includes stores like Hallmark, La Madeline and TJ Maxx (for all the Maxinistas). The Renaissance Hotel is a notable hotel used for special events and conferences and has been around as long as I can remember. You can find just almost anything in this area of the city. We lost some key businesses like TGIF, Macaroni Grill, Pier 1 Imports and Gap. However, places like Trader Joe's and Modern furniture have been great additions. The mix of stores is nicely balanced between... local and national level businesses. The layout is especially walkable with places to sit and relax. The green space at the Arboretum is truly a highlight from picnic areas near Amy's ice cream to the Arboretum duck pond. The Arboretum offers a plethora of business to frequent. The Arboretum, in general, has moderately priced goods and great customer service. We welcome you to try our niche of Austin.

Conveniently located at the intersection of Research Boulevard and Capital of Texas Highway, its easy accessibility from multiple directions has made it a familiar destination for generations of local residents. Over the years, Gateway has evolved alongside the community, with longtime shoppers witnessing the arrival and departure of retailers such as Star Furniture, Marie Callender's, Saks Off 5th, and Conn's. Today, it remains a vibrant hub serving nearby neighborhoods and apartment communities throughout the Capital of Texas corridor. The center offers a well-balanced mix of national retailers and everyday essentials, anchored by Nordstrom Rack, REI, Amazon, Whole Foods Market, and Best Buy. Value-focused shoppers can also browse favorites like J.Crew Factory (my personal fav) and Old Navy. When it's time to take a break, dining options such as Ichi Umi Sushi, Panera Bread, and Whole Foods provide convenient spots to recharge. In addition, you can see a movie at Regal Gateway, for further relaxation. Services offered at the Gateway Best Buy Geek Squad, bridal services at David's Bridal and specialized shoe services at Red Wing. Beyond shopping, Gateway Shopping Center plays a meaningful role as a gathering place. Seasonal events like carolers, pop-up farmer's markets, and community programming bring the space to life year-round.

Shopping at a large indoor mall is a completely different experience from strolling through a…read moreneighborhood strip center. Over the past two weeks, I've had the chance to enjoy both, and each has its own unique charm. Let's start with Barton Creek Square mall, which has great customer service and stores at a variety of price ranges. It's a sprawling indoor mall filled with multi-level stores, comfortable air conditioning, and welcome relief from our Texas heat. Once you step through one of the main entrances, you're immersed in a world of shopping where it's easy to lose track of time (retail, jewelry and toy stores, hair salons and always a food court). You can wander from one end of the mall to the other, browse store after store, and simply enjoy the experience without worrying about the weather outside. Walking through the mall stirred up a wave of positive memories. As a teenager, the mall was the place to be. It was where friends gathered on weekends, where paychecks from part-time jobs quickly turned into the latest outfit for a dance, date, or movie night. It was also where a shopping trip wasn't complete without grabbing a quick bite from favorites like Panda Express or Chick-fil-A before heading back to browse a few more stores. This visit brought back those fond memories to the forefront. I found myself strolling from one side of the mall to the other, peeking into stores that caught my eye and enjoying the simple pleasure of window shopping. I didn't leave with any shopping bags, but I did leave with something just as valuable...a pleasant afternoon and a reminder that sometimes the best shopping trips aren't about what you buy, but the memories they bring back.

Some of the stores in the mall are decent, there's Hollister, Pacsun, Aeropostale, Journey's, American Eagle, Pink, ect. (which are the ones I normally visit). There are some stores on the other hand that aren't great and to be honest most of the stores are pretty underwhelming. I would say most of the people working here are nice and chill but aren't interested in small talk (I can't blame them they're just there to do their job). The food is fine, I normally never get the food though because I don't really trust mall food if I'm being real. If you come here to have fun, I'm sure you'll find somewhere even though the mall is pretty boring. You'll see in the photos I put that there escalators are broken and they have been broken for months "temporarily" out of order? More like permanently out of order. Honestly my favorite part of the mall has to be the AMC movie theater the food is overpriced but I will say the theater is clean, has a good selection of movies, and is comfortable. I also got really sad when they removed the Starbucks from the mall! It was my favorite. If you want a better, bigger mall to go to, I would go to Barton Creek Mall.
