It's the best spot to watch the sunset in Austin IMO, the view is more breathtaking compared with that from the Mount Bonnel. And I really love the view of the golden sunlight spreading over the lake.

You come to this place for the views and the vibe. The food is decent, but overpriced. If you've never been you have to go on a nice day

Amazing view! It honestly looks straight out of the movies. I don't travel to Austin often but if you're in Austin you should definitely stop here. The only issue is that the food is not the best and the bathrooms either. Staff was very nice and friendly. If you don't want to go in the restaurant you can always visit the shops surrounding.

People go to the Oasis for the view. The food is just okay and their beer selection is eh (although they do have a pretty extensive list of cocktails and margaritas!). The service when I was there was fantastic. The waiting time for a table is CRAZY. So the view is great. But here's the thing: instead of waiting 30 minutes to 2+ hours for a table at the Oasis, where the drinks are fine and the food is fine and the view is great, you can go NEXT DOOR to the Oasis Texas Brewing Company, where there is NO WAIT, an equally amazing view, AWESOME local craft beer, a food truck, and GAMES.

Oasis is only great for the beautiful view of lake Austin. The food is very very plain, mediocre, and over priced. The place is a bit gaudy and I guess it fits the "keep austin weird" vibe but I would've much rather preferred if the area had been well-kept and clean. However, the area is beautiful for an overlook of lake Travis and it's a good idea to visit oasis at least once.

If you're not from Texas, this is one of the touristy spots you should visit. Make sure you bring a special lock to hook onto the fence and check out the shops. Also, come when the sun is about to set. Photos and videos will look good.

Gorgeous sunset view!

There is a Yelp site for OASIS TEXAS Shopping Center and an OASIS TEXAS Restaurant so it looks a bit confusing. I came to the Oasis Texas Shopping Center purely to see the view and the sunset. The area has quite a lot of parking so I believe you'll be able to find parking in no time. The shopping center is really cutely designed! There are restaurants, coffee shops, and small little stores that you can explore for boots and other interesting items! We came here to watch the sunset. Next to the Oasis Restaurant, there is an AMAZING area where you can see an incredible view in the Austin area. You can see the lake with many beautiful homes right around them! The view itself is fabulous all the time but I definitely recommend coming here to catch the sunset. Great area to take pictures and definitely soak in what Austin has got to show!

What a great place to spend an afternoon and evening! It's tucked away and a bit of a drive from the main city. I loved the view, I would say that is truly the main attraction here. There's a few places to eat and a few shops. It's unfortunate however to see quite a few empty shop spaces, but I guess that's not really rare these days. Regardless, this is definitely a place to check out on your Austin adventure.

If you're looking for the restaurant (The Oasis), see also: http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-oasis-austin-10 This "Oasis Texas" is, apparently, the entire venue that includes restaurant, brewery, and local shops. Follow the link above for the restaurant specific Yelp page.

The view is defiantly the best thing here like stated on every single review about this place . The food is mediocre nothing to brag about. But sunsets at this place are amazing and worth the drive and a few drinks. I really can't recommend what to eat but the roof top bar is a great spot for having a beer.

Hurry up and wait. Then wait some more. Then wait even longer. OMG We waited about 45 mins for a table. No problem. We can drink at the bar first. Seating pager starts buzzing. Alright! We get this table with an awesome view overlooking a gorgeous sunset. Order guacamole and entrees. Guacamole is out in a about 20 mins. Then I fall asleep waiting for our food... it's been over 1.5 hours and as I sit here typing this review, we are still waiting for our entrees.

Rubi R.

The view is gorgeous but I wouldn't recommend eating here. The service is terrible, the wait time was like an hour and then the waitress took forever to get our order and food. The food is overpriced and there's nothing special about it. Honestly, my suggestion is to just come walk around, visit the shops nearby, enjoy the view, and save your wallet and time and eat elsewhere.

Neat statue outside the restaurant!

Overpriced, disgusting bar food overlooking a dried up lake. Not even the staff makes up for it.

Amazing atmosphere, best sunsets around here. Food is average, but is overcome by entertainment factor.

The view was great! However, the food was OK but not better than mediocre, and the prices were unreasonable.

Gret views, even in the drought. Shame about the service. Not a place to recommend for lunch, but it's great to watch the sunset.

Don't come for the food or customers service..... The nice view is the only reason to come to the Oasis.

Although I haven't visited the Target at this shopping complex, I have relied on Target for years, so I imagine this Target location is no different. The shopping complex and area is nice too. How about 4 stars?

To the point they probably should have helmets, mouth guards, and safety vests to keep themselves from being killed by a run away cart in the parking lot. While this is trivial, it is a special kind of stupid. Apparently, this august management team took away wine carriers because customers were putting items other than wine into these special receptacles of happiness and they felt they were losing money (I know it's trivial but...). This HEB is dead center in one of the most affluent parts of Austin. It is also host to a proportionate number of day drinking soccer moms and career frustrated dads that appreciate their wine and olive oil carriers in one convenient delivery mechanism. The Austin City Council has already made it more difficult to shop by taking away plastic bags, now HEB is worried about profit margins on wine sherpas. You are already too expensive, limited, and crowded. Why make it harder to shop? Sprouts and Trader Joe's just make it easy. Remember, it's the small things that make a difference.

Shopping at a large indoor mall is a completely different experience from strolling through a…read moreneighborhood strip center. Over the past two weeks, I've had the chance to enjoy both, and each has its own unique charm. Let's start with Barton Creek Square mall, which has great customer service and stores at a variety of price ranges. It's a sprawling indoor mall filled with multi-level stores, comfortable air conditioning, and welcome relief from our Texas heat. Once you step through one of the main entrances, you're immersed in a world of shopping where it's easy to lose track of time (retail, jewelry and toy stores, hair salons and always a food court). You can wander from one end of the mall to the other, browse store after store, and simply enjoy the experience without worrying about the weather outside. Walking through the mall stirred up a wave of positive memories. As a teenager, the mall was the place to be. It was where friends gathered on weekends, where paychecks from part-time jobs quickly turned into the latest outfit for a dance, date, or movie night. It was also where a shopping trip wasn't complete without grabbing a quick bite from favorites like Panda Express or Chick-fil-A before heading back to browse a few more stores. This visit brought back those fond memories to the forefront. I found myself strolling from one side of the mall to the other, peeking into stores that caught my eye and enjoying the simple pleasure of window shopping. I didn't leave with any shopping bags, but I did leave with something just as valuable...a pleasant afternoon and a reminder that sometimes the best shopping trips aren't about what you buy, but the memories they bring back.

A few newer shops I hadn't seen since my last visit and a few others that have since closed, but the old loves remained including the amazing Restoration Hardware here that is FOUR stories and loaded with every pretty thing you could ever want. Also some higher end jewelry stores like Gucci and David Yurman here. This is a huge complex with several parking decks and areas and it was extremely crowded by around noon-1pm on a Sunday. One of my Finance groups hosts a monthly Finance meeting at The Domain. Shopping...some of my favorite fun stores are at the Domain such as J. Crew and Anthropologie. If you are a big baller, you can shop at stores like Neiman Marcus, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Tiffany's and whole host of other high stores. I'm a tiny baller. Smile. Dining - At the Domain you can get reasonably priced foods to high end fare. Some of my favorite places to dine in the Domain include Glorias, Flower Child, Paul Martin's and Haywire. Important to note, most restaurants have great happy hours and associated amazing prices.
