This used to be a fun spot, less big in size than some neighboring bars. Food is average. Drinks are standard. Most of the bars here have their regular crowds. It seems this and many others have lost the bulk of their crowds. I remember coming here and having to wait outside. I don't see the lines as much anymore. The last get times I have been here, the place was barely half full on a late week night. Where did all of the bar crowds go? Used to come here more often but then we all got too busy with life, it happens.

Went to Rock n Rides to go see some live music and enjoy a maskless beautiful day. The band I went to see was the Corktown Popes(great band). So we decided to sit at O'Tooles outside seating and have some beer and a burger. We started with the pretzel sticks. Nice soft inside solid crust and salted perfectly. The cheese sauce was very good. I had three different beers all craft two really good one was ok. Great Lakes lemon Hefeweizen was really good and so was the North Coast Scrimshaw. The ok beer was One Well state of bean. The burger was good cooked to order with the usual condiments with it. The fries were steak fries nice and crisp. Our server Brooklyn was fantastic very patient with us sitting there for a couple of hours watching the bands and drinking some beers.

This is a fun bar but definitely gets packed anytime there is an event in Royal Oak. The food is good, they did a menu revamp not too long ago. The steak bites are always a good go to! On the weekends they have shot girls walking around as well. There isn't anything particular exciting or anything major to set this place apart from any other typical bar but it's a fun night out with friends nonetheless

Pepperoni Pizza

Very good pizza. Wings above average. Good vibes. The service very attentive. But the music was a little too loud for conversation and it isn't a dance bar.

Mug night!

Conveniently located, I found myself needing a break from shopping (and wanted a World Cup update)…read moreand Griffin Claw was the perfect solution for both. I sat at the bar where Mae very thoughtfully helped me navigate through the extensive been menu. I was very impressed at the selections! She brought me three tasters and, honestly, each of them were fantastic. It seems fitting that I chose a pint of Conflict of Interest in the midst of a difficult decision! The food menu is just as impressive. I'm certain anyone can find a favorite. I ordered the blackened chicken gnocchi and found myself in flavor heaven. I've made and eaten a lot of gnocchi and this is easily the best I've ever had. Mae agreed with me and suggested it's because there's cheese in those potato pillows. I dunno but I would eat this every day if I could. If I thought they'd keep, I'd buy extra and take some home. Meanwhile the bar crowd was friendly and chatty as we watched soccer on a few TVs. It was pretty chill, everyone just kicking back with great beer, tasty food and a worldwide sporting event. That said, I'm not waiting four years to come back!

Sat outside most recently and brought our toddler. She got to run around and explore. The fineapple cider on draft is my favorite and so refreshing. Menu wise has so many options. We went with the beer bites and cheese. The food cane out hot and the cheese is so good with the pretzels. The kids grilled cheese was a big size and tasty. Love the shoestring fries. So impressed with all of their drinks they make in house. Came another time for dinner with a friend to catch up. A large group took over the dining room. Stayed way past they were done with their food and drink. They stayed 5 hours and disrupted the restaurant. Our waitress gave us a small discount for how annoying these people were. She said staff were even over them.

They've got pull-tabs, which is always a treat for me. The bartender was a sweetheart. I ordered the french dip sliders and they were absolutely delicious. The fries were standard. The very young bartender was more worried about her boyfriend than doing her job. There was only like 6 other people in there. She was rolling her eyes at the older bartender/cook who's been there for years. She was "mouthing" something to another customer. Like he was getting her in "trouble". So I quietly tell her you know she may be annoying right now, but she will show you the right way to do things. I probably should have stayed quiet, but I was really just trying to be helpful. She immediately YELLS, "That's my grandma!" She tells her she called you annoying! I said , "why don't you tell her everything I said? " The young one is yelling for us to leave which we certainly were anyway. She was coming after us and I had to pull my friend away. We are 50+ year-old women and do not go out to the bar for that kind of childish ridiculous behavior. I am a good customer and a very good tipper. . We were the only two women in there other than her and her grandma. You would think they would be more appreciative of their customers. Anyway, they have lost my business. And it seems they don't have a whole lot of business going on anyway. The girl is way too young to be working behind that bar. Do not recommend!!!
