Very good food. Services is fast and food is tasty and fresh. A couple times I get cold fries but they fix that and give me fresh hot fries when I ask. I'm a repeat customer for sure.

My sweet man and I eyeballed this spot for a while and had it on our list of Chicago hot spots to check out. NYC HALAL EATS is the truth. Go grab a plate, NY style chopped cheese, or a Salito bowl. My honey bear got a mixed plate and I got the seafood plate. They both came with salad, fries, fragrant rice and the drizzle. Great ambiance, city vibes, spacious, cool wall art. My husband and I ordered to go last night and we got the chicken fajitas, chopped cheese, and chicken gyro. I think for 12 something sandwiches should already come with fries but they didn't. The food was delicious nonetheless.

Just tried this place through Uber Eats and WOW. I'm someone who will try just about any rice and chicken combo and let me tell you, this one blew me away. Hands down the best lunch order I've had in a long time. The quantity is great, I had enough for two meals. The sauces are spicy and so flavorful If you're ever craving good chicken and flavorful rice, this is the spot. It's officially my favorite Uber Eats order now. Will definitely be reordering, probably more times than I should admit.

I had seen this place pop up when it first opened, but I rarely find myself in this part of town. One day last week, I had to be up in Rogers Park for work and decided to swing by for lunch. I was the only person in there, except for a couple Uber eats drivers picking up orders. There is plenty of seating and the inside is super clean. They have a huge menu but i came for the famous combo plate with lamb and chicken. The person at the counter was welcoming. She packed my container like a professional Tetris player. The food had a ton of flavor and a little heat. For the price, quality and amount of food you get, if haven't been here, you're doing a disservice to yourself. Highly recommend.

Good thing ordering food was quick and menu is not hard to read. Like the variety of drinks, the Blue Freez drink was good. Now the not so good, I got the lamb gyro and it was dry, like no white sauce what so ever. Since it was my first time, I wish I would've known to order more but pictures I've seen showed otherwise. Fries were okay. My husband asked for a salito and ended up with a platter, which was okay, again not enough sauce for all the food on there. Then the purple cabbage stuff was way too much. Seen on Tik tok for late night eats, that was hyped up, but I won't be rushing back, but still glad I tried something different.

I first saw NYC Halal Eats on Instagram and made a mental note to check it out for their Chopped Cheese. As someone who basically treats NYC like a second home, I was *hyped* for this opening. Now, how I ended up near Devon St. that day? No clue. I can't even remember what I was doing up there, but my stomach didn't care--it was demanding food, and NYC Halal Eats popped up. Naturally, I zoomed over ASAP. Let me just say, the Chopped Cheese *did not disappoint*. It was fresh, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious. Big props to them for nailing that iconic NYC flavor. BRAVO! I also got the chicken and rice plate, which was solid but not as memorable. The flavors were good, and the portion size was generous, but it didn't wow me like the Chopped Cheese did. If you're in the area, I'd say this spot is definitely worth trying--especially for that Chopped Cheese. Just come hungry because their portions are no joke!

The platter comes with both rice and fries. The sauces are the real deal. It's good and fills you up to the core

Love this place, saw on tiktok and we decided to go. The drive was a bit long but it worth it. The amount of food they pack chicken. The employee was very nice. And she welcome everyone into the restaurant. Street parking. Price is reasonable. The menu is big. Will come back to try other food on the menu.

I didn't experience any rudeness like many reviewers. Food wasn't the worst nor the best. Decent. I don't know of many halal places near downtown but this particular neighborhood has plenty. What sets this place apart is they're an American version because aside from falafel & various Indian or Mediterranean dishes they serve New York classics such as Philly cheese steaks & chopped cheese. The price point is definitely on the higher side because I paid almost $40 for two entrees & a side. Exercise patients because the food will take upwards of 10-15 minutes. The fries were the worst of the bunch. They could benefit with some seasoning. I wanted to indulge in the interesting milkshakes such as Cinnamon Toast Crunch & fruity pebbles but maybe another time.

The playlist needs an update, the same head banging songs on repeat was getting annoying. The service was good, the ladies in the kitchen were all working as fast as they could to get all the food out together. Ordered a bunch of items from the menu but it was a little underwhelming in terms of flavors. The MOE Burger didn't look like much but it was the best tasting item we ordered!!! - definitely going back for it

Food and atmosphere. The portions of the meat and sandwiches is large on a reasonable price. Highly recommend. All food is Halal.

While I am not a native, I have been a frequent visitor over 20 years and always brag on Lou's as the best of the big boys and as good as several of the lesser known neighborhood spots. Sadly, my last two in person visits have more closely resembled the frozen product they ship from their website. The most recent visit last week included 11 other family members who were "first timers" that had trusted my recommendation for the good stuff only to be disappointed by both the temperature and small amount of both cheese/sauce. We shared several large, medium and personal pies across the menu and I honestly can't say a single one measured up to the standard they have set for decades. The always delicious butter crust saved this from being a one star review, but my next visit to Chitown may not include another visit to any of the way too many locations.

It's still pretty basic with simple meat sauce and cheese, but I actually appreciated the simplicity--it was different without trying too hard. The highlight was definitely the BREAD for a starter! They push the Mediterranean Bread, and honestly, you should let them. It's enormous, blistered, fragrant, and arrives like a hot air balloon made of carbs. More importantly, it gives you something genuinely delicious to tear into while you wait for the pizza pot pies to emerge from whatever subterranean chamber they're baked in. It's both a starter and a survival tool. A reservation is non‑negotiable unless you enjoy contemplating your own mortality in a weekend crowd. The wait times can stretch so long you could starve to death before your name is called -- and the regulars will nod knowingly as they step around your skeleton. Plan ahead. The salads are comically oversized, the kind of portions that make you wonder if they're meant for a family of four or a single very determined marathon runner. But let's be honest: no one is here for lettuce. We're all here for the pizza pot pie, that molten, bread‑wrapped, cheese‑laden dome of joy that defies every attempt at categorization. It's not deep dish, it's not thin crust -- it's its own thing entirely, and that's the point. This is the place you bring out‑of‑town guests when you want to show them something uniquely Chicago without defaulting to the usual deep‑dish suspects. But it's also the place you come back to on your own, because once you've had that pizza pot pie, it lives rent‑free in your brain until you return.

When I walked by, it was very crowded, loud, and busy with a line going down the street. I decided to place my order online instead, but here's something you definitely need to know: ordering online does NOT mean your deep-dish pizza will be ready quickly.Mine took about an hour and 15 minutes which I was told is pretty normal because deep-dish takes a while to make. I had my little stool with me, so I sat outside, took some pictures, and did some people-watching while I waited. There is some street parking, but there's a large building across the street that looks like apartments or possibly a hotel, so parking wasn't the easiest. They have a little To Go area where you can grab drinks and other items. I also bought a couple of their frozen deep-dish pizzas to take home and I'm glad I did! We also shared the seafood pizza, duck prosciutto pizza, cup and char pepperoni pizza, and the gnocchi. All three pizzas were delicious, with very thin and crispy crusts. The seafood pizza came with a soup or broth that you could pour over it, which was nice and it also came with so much seafood. The cheese was slightly firm, but the pizza was still flavorful and enjoyable. The duck prosciutto had a noticeable duck aroma, melty cheese, and a rich, savory flavor. The cup and char pepperoni pizza was satisfying as well, especially the pepperoni with its crisp, curled edges. The gnocchi was another standout. It was satisfyingly chewy with a great texture and bold flavor. We finished with the tiramisu, which was light, balanced, and not overly sweet.
