Italian beef sandwich, fries, and cup of chili
    Dee A.

First time visit and will definitely return. Visited this place on a whim, got the italian beef sandwich, fries, chili, and a Reese's shake. Food portions exceeded expectations, taste was delicious, and staff was very friendly. Looking forward to re-visiting with family and friends.

    Salad! So yummy!

Needed to order take out in the Irving Park area and Munchies definitely satisfied our munchies! They have an extensive menu with different options like burgers, hot dogs, soups, salads, and other fried foods (onion rings, fries, etc). They also have yummy malts and shakes. Ordered for the student I tutor and the order came within twenty minutes! The delivery man was really nice and the food was yummy! The soup was simple yet hearty and the fries hit the spot. I ordered the salad and it was fresh. Prices were decent but taxes, delivery and tip will set you $10+ for a 20.00 order. Will definitely try again if I'm in the area!

Munchies was my go-to gyro place. When I used to live in uptown and these were the best gyros in my delivery area. I ordered a gyro sandwich and an Italian beef for my friend. We got our food very quickly, and it was delicious. My friend told me her Italian beef has great. My gyro never lets me down, munchies has really good sauce and great meat. This was perfect when I came back to Chicago I made sure Munchies was one of my stops. The deliver service is also really great. Everyone of the drivers are really nice. Overall I would highly recommend munchies if your in the area.

About 2 weeks ago, i tasted their steak burrito as take out and it wasn't that great. It was mushy and bland. Around 1045am, I brought my daughter for dine in today. This small location have a capcity of 28 peoole total. Bar seats along a counter by a wall and tables near the store front. We ordered 12inch pepperoni pizza $9 and 1liter rc for $1.79- rather than get a pepperoni or sausage slice for $2.25 (cheese $2). The employee mentioned the pizza will be done in 30 minutes because of the pizza stove isn't warmed up yet. With chili peppers and parmesan cheese, the pizza was decent. Menu consists of: Food specials with fries & pop, appetizers, sandwiches, subs, salads, and dinner food. Small parking lot. Munchies & More is between a liquor store and Social Club. We would go back if we have late night munchies, this place is usually open until 11pm.

This place is wonderful! We have tried the longhorn sub sandwich, polish sausage, chicago dog, cheeseburger, Italian beef, and chicken nuggets all which were delicious. Oh and the cheese fries are great too. The lady that you order from is always very nice and the food is prepared relatively quickly.

A sunny little spot on Elston.

If I had life to do over again, I would have built up a business nest egg and opened a quick slice pizza place (heavy on the grease) named "Munchies." It would be the kind of place that would have food to satisfy those with the condition contained in the name. It would have made a mint I'm sure (and I'd be chilling on a beach in a place with no winter). Unluckily for my wallet but luckily for my stomach, someone already did just that. Whoever came up with that name was a marketing expert (or at least a stoner with a good drug induced idea). Except in one respect - location (location, location). Though this place is surprisingly close to the shopping district on Elston Avenue, it feels so isolated in a mini-strip mall that the only way I knew it was there was passing by it at random on the way home from the Chicago North DMV. The slices are tangy, not too cheesy, thin crust pieces of delight at $1.25 (or $1.50 for carnivores). I got two and it was pretty much a filling 1/4 pizza. They also have full diner and sandwich menus. Were this place actually in a neighborhood with anyone under 40, it would probably be a busy hangout spot. There are video games in the dining area, ample seating (considering how small the place is), and a laid back staff (I figured walking in this might be an unfriendly to strangers neighborhood type of place). So maybe I haven't missed my chance. Maybe I should open a Munchies West in a hipper neighborhood (if I could get a loan in this economic climate).

For cheap eats along Elston, you can't beat Munchie's. Burgers, hot dogs, shakes, and my favorite, pizza by the slice. MMMM, I'm hungry

Finally finally FINALLY!!!! I got here and tried the pizza! This has been on my Chicago food bucket…read morelist ever since it opened. We ended up doing a walk-in on a Sunday night and showed up at 8 PM one hour before close. This worked out for us because we got a really good seat after only waiting for 20 minutes. Service is good and timely- the hostess was super kind and helpful. We started with some cocktails- a Negroni & a spritz (both were good & pretty strong). Then we split the Caesar salad and a pizza with half sausage/olive and mushroom/onion. Yeah, the pizza did blow me away- the crust is perfectly crunchy and so so thin. I wouldn't even describe it as traditional tavern style pizza because I think it's a really crunchy crust- but it's definitely wayyyyy better than Dimi Dimi (that's the most comparable crust imo). The sauce has a slight spice to it, and the whole pizza just feels very layered in terms of flavorful profile. The sausage was also spicy but very good and I absolutely loved the mushroom and onion duo. Sometimes when you go to a certain pizza places, it doesn't feel worth it, but all the ingredients felt elevated here and the pizza had an elevated taste. The Caesar salad had a nice light dressing and a ton of cheese. I wish that the lettuce had a bit more of a crunch to it, but they seemed to use butter lettuce. The inside feels like a classic Italian joint, but it's very small and simple Overall, so glad that I finally went and although it's not a place that I would go regularly because I live far, I would definitely come back!

I could eat a whole pie by myself I think.. its that addictive. The cheese pie is really good too and the entire pie tastes fresh with great ingredients. Service was super fast and the ambiance is small, but cozy inside. Truly recommend to try tavern style in Chi!

Big bang buffalo- standard buffalo. Can't go wrong. Hot honey- pretty good, honey flavor, some sweetness Garlic galaxy glaze- this is really good if you like garlic flavor. I would get this again. Bayou in the sky- super super good. I would get this again. Hint of spice, hint of sweet. Carolina bbq- tasted like straight deli mustard. I would pass. The pizza, even though they advertise Detroit Style pizza, their take is more like Focaccia style pizza. They provide nice crunch, not enough sauce. Pretty airy dough. Drooling mushroom- they offer lots of mushrooms on top but the rest of the pizza was not too great. Next time, I would get Ham Radio- pepperoni, bacon, sausage, got and sweet pepper.

That's at the tone for what became unforgettable night. Had the space debri salad which is basically a Greek salad with potatoes and I think in Italian vinaigrette Soooooooooooo for it!!! So delicious After getting it, my buddy had to get one too haha One of us had the moonwalk cheese, we go out for a lot of pizza together, and he said it was he thought his favorite of anywhere. Another one of our crew got the pepperoni pile up loved. And I got the sweet and salty space candy pizza With bacon, pineapple, pickled red onion, goat cheese, sambal. Genius, the goat cheese, instead of ricotta was the move for this pizza! All the flavors worked in perfect harmony.Nothing short of amazing. Cozy spot, super cool atmosphere, couple of old school arcade games like ninja Turtles let's goooo We had so much fun. The drinks were absolutely excellent as well.
