I couldn't drink since I was there for work, but it's such a cool touch and makes the space feel even more inviting. There are so many delicious things to look at. Spices, nuts, prepared foods, pastries, everything. The olives are honestly my favorite. They are so fresh and full of flavor that I had to stop myself from grabbing more. It's the kind of store where you want to explore every corner because something good is always waiting. The staff was friendly and patient even with the steady flow of people. It's just a warm, easy place to be in. If you're walking around Industry City, Sahadi's is definitely worth a stop. It feels like a little food adventure every time.

Lately, we've come for their lunch sandwiches. Most of them are named after streets in BK Heights, which I thought was cute. They're better than the other fast food subs around the neighborhood. I've had the Brooklyn Heights with hot lean roast beef with lettuce and tomatoes on hero and the dumont with hot roast beef with melted cheese and onions on a hero. The employees behind the counter are usually very nice and make sure that you're being helped. As I wait for the sandwiches, I'm usually browsing all the other baked good options ranging from cakes to cookies to cupcakes. I did succumb once and paid over 20 dollars per lb for Christmas cookies. They were alright, but very pricey.

We were determined to find some authentic Brooklyn Italian food because, as good as Phoenix can be, it's just not the same. This restaurant was only about a block and a half from our hotel, making it the perfect choice. We arrived around 5 p.m. on a Saturday, before the dinner rush, so the atmosphere was relaxed and quiet enough to enjoy a conversation and savor the meal. The food was outstanding from start to finish. We started with the ricotta toast topped with walnuts, honey, and a beet sauce. It was creative, beautifully presented, and absolutely delicious. For my entrée, I ordered the veal tortellini special over Bolognese sauce. Every bite was packed with flavor and easily one of the best dishes I had during our trip. My wife chose the Margherita pizza, which was simple, fresh, and perfectly executed. Sometimes the simplest dishes are the hardest to get right, and they nailed it. What really completed the experience was the service. Our meal arrived quickly, the staff was attentive without hovering, and everyone made us feel welcome. If you're visiting Brooklyn and looking for authentic Italian cuisine, do yourself a favor and add this place to your list. We left full, happy, and wishing we had discovered it earlier in the trip. Five stars without hesitation.

There's also a good selection of crackers, Jams and preserves, beer,non-alcholic beverages. They sell breads from She Wolf Bakery and they often have cookies from The Good Batch. This is a great place to stop in if you're already in the area but if you're not it's worth making a special trip over just to check it out!
