Assorted and varied sampling for everyone's palate- with choices in mind for the most finicky customer! They have a great variety of products as well as a wonderful section where they make fresh sandwiches. The variety of sandwiches is amazing. We stayed in NY and visited a bodega, essential. It had everything we could need to pick up and for that, it did not disappoint. I ordered a breakfast sandwich and also some oatmeal, both were just okay and somewhat bland. It got me through the morning and came out to around $10 total, so not too bad there. My friend Kevin ordered a Philly Cheesesteak breakfast burrito which he described as delicious. It really blew him away and was the highlight of our first bodega experience. What can I say for Concord Market. It's the only store in the area. So they can pretty much do what they want. Especially if you don't feel like walking to Court or Montague or Clark streets for groceries. It's clean, convenient and for those who works near the college sometimes a time saver. So if you do have the time an energy to go someplace else go! If not by all means enjoy the staff in an clean atmosphere. And..Be specific about your orders. It helps. read more

Does anyone remember what was here before Concord Market? I do because I grew up in Concord Village...It was a disgusting, run-down ghetto, old ASSociated. So yes, Concord Market gets 5 stars, in fact if I could give it 10 stars I would! Now, moving forward, let's remember that this can't be compared to a full-blown chain supermarket because it's not. This is a family owned business. Concord Market is more of a grab-n-go lunch spot that also has a smaller grocery section. There have been many times we have run downstairs late to grab milk or eggs and the market is open till 10pm! The Vora family has done a wonderful job of gut-renovating the space and making it a beautiful, shopable and convenient local marketplace. May I point out a few highlights: * Organic foods * Fresh fruits and veggies (see pic) * Large selection of pre-prepared foods * Cupcakes (yay!) Not only are their prices ridiculous, but the owner has been very rude to me and my family multiple times despite being regular customers. I called to ask about their hours, and the owner picked up. Love concord market. They have a great selection and if you want something that they don't have they will stock it for you (I know from personal experience!). So management is amazing and provide a really tailored and individualized experience. They are always open to suggestions/thoughts and put the customer first, no matter what. Produce is fresh, lots of options and their catering is amazing. The guy that made me my coffee was nice enough but the cashier was rude. She had an earbud in and was talking to someone the whole time I was checking out. I wasn't sure what she was saying or if she was speaking to me. It was awkward. When I was done, I had to ask for a napkin to go with my muffin and coffee and she seemed put out. I've ordered grocery delivery from Concord Market three times since the NY Pause began, and my experience has been excellent. The fruits and veggies have been fresh. If they were out of something (who isn't these days?), they called and made a substitution. And today Mercato's delivery service had trouble making my delivery, and Concord went above and beyond to make sure I received my groceries. Truly appreciated. read more

My family loves to walk the Brooklyn Bridge. Our favorite thing to do on a lovely spring Saturday is to walk the Bridge and end it at Concord. If it's breakfast time, we'll grab some fresh brew, fruit, and some bagels. If it's lunchtime we'll grab Paninis and smoothies, and then grocery shop and head home. The staff is ALWAYS friendly and helpful! My daughter loves the owner who we often see. He made her try some Mac n cheese once and from then on has always asked for it! At Concord Market customer service is put dead last while profit margins are kept as high as possible. The food is tasteless and portions are small. I've regretted my decision to buy from them every time I've gone there. For a store with such overpriced goods, one would think it could operate without a credit card minimum, but this is not the case as they do require a $5 minimum,( shouldn't be too hard to meet considering how overpriced everything is. ) I also HEAVILY advice against ever spending your money on their iphone chargers unless you're looking for a strong cable to tow a car or walk your dog with. Seriously the cables are amazing quality, but they won't charge your phone. After realizing I had been duped by them I took my rage out on the cable. I figured I could snap it with my hands and then soon ended up covered in blood. I have nothing but ill-will towards this place, and cannot way for them to close. If a small business can't offer good customer service, arguably the only perk of most small businesses, then it should fail and be replaced by a corporate chain where customer service is mediocre and prices are much lower! read more

Monday morning, i called the market in order to have a cake delivered to our offices, for a colleagues birthday. The individual on the phone goes through the necessary steps to complete the transaction. 5mins later i was called back to be notified i had not met the amount required to use a credit card. However this was not brought to my attension earlier so there was nothing i could do about it. I was then instructed to call them an hr before i wanted the cake to be delivered so i can remind them. The same way you email Amazon to remind them to ship your products-note the heavy tone of sarcasm. The cake finally arrives, the office proceeds to celebrate a birthday. The individual cuts the cake (carrot cake) and distributes it amongst peers. Soon then, one colleague notices an off color in the cake between the cream cheese icing. It was MOLD.. good OLD MOLD. Of course after the panic after people eating it everyone had to take individual measures to make sure they would not get sick! Oh not to mention i called last Wednesday, and tried to order a cake. They took my order and proceeded to then call me back 20mins later to tell me they apologize to inform me all their cakes were bad as she was wrong to offer them to me. I stopped by Concord Market to pick up some groceries and beer as it was close to my friend's place who was hosting a small get together. The market looks well kept for the most part, pretty organized - typical neighborhood market. The issues that I came across were the staff/management, the quality and freshness of the products and the prices. I don't really care for the price IF the product is up to par and at this market it is not the case. The fruits I looked at looked from very ripe to bad so I skipped it all together. I ended up buying beer, snacks, spices, and ordered a couple of sandwiches from the deli counter. The staff really does its best to go out of its way.... to NOT help you. They are about as unfriendly, lazy, incompetent as you can get and that goes the same for its management particularly a gentleman that introduced himself as Al. If the management has this type of behavior obviously so will the rest of the staff. Customers are not always right but to ridicule and basically insult them is not a good business practice. When I got to my friends place, he immediately told me that I shouldn't have gone to this market as he has had some bad experience with Concord. He was not surprised when he heard of my bad experience. Regardless, we started eating/drinking until we realized the beer tasted odd (''skunk") and the cookies were expired by 2 months! Ok so that gets tossed in the garbage. Let's eat the sandwiches. Again, odd tasting especially the tuna salad. Tossed in the garbage. So basically I just tossed close to $60 in the garbage. Concord Market does NOT belong in such a thriving neighborhood, in fact, it does not belong in any type of neighborhood. read more

DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY FROM THIS MARKET It seems convenient to be able to order simple grocery items and food for delivery, but something feels sketchy about this place. I ordered delivery through Grubhub and waited 2 and a half hours for my food to show up. It never did, and when I called the market a woman pretended to not know what was going on. When she finally suddenly "found" information about my order, she simply informed me that the delivery driver never showed up. When I asked her why she didn't contact me or Grubhub about the issue, she became very rude. When I asked her for the manager's full name, she told me that he didn't have a last name (??) and told me to contact Grubhub. I reported this market to Grubhub for their shady behavior. If you look at Concord's reviews on Grubhub, you'll see that this experience is pretty typical. read more

This place and the owners continue to impress me. As Kiai mentioned, the owners have worked really hard to clean up this place and make sure it is affordable for its customers. Prices are pretty much in line with other supermarkets, and they truly make an effort to understand what their customers want. While shopping there, one of the owners gave us a box of chocolate cigars to get our opinion on whether he should sell them. When we responded that they're great, but we also like this other soup bread we got and they should sell it on its own, he dropped off some more bread within 20 minutes. Came here for lunch on a work day and it was a pleasure compared to most restaurants in Downtown Brooklyn around lunchtime... definitely a hidden work-day lunch gem in the neighborhood! The prepared food tasted fresh, and they have an extensive selection... everything from sandwiches to spanikopita to build your own burrito bar. For such a small store Concord Market offers a large variety of products. There is a small selection of produce, lots of snacks, pastries, canned goods, milk, and eggs. The deli counter is packed with desserts and great coffee. They also have sandwiches which are popular with students and workers in the area. They just started carrying a large selection of beer. They are open from 8AM to midnight and they do deliveries! They are a god-send for anyone in the neighborhood who needs a few things but doesn't want to make the trek to the supermarket. The prices are better than Gristedes but more expensive than most supermarkets (you're paying for the convenience, I guess). The store is always super-clean and the staff is polite, friendly, and very helpful. read more

For a small neighborhood grocery this place is as good as it gets. I live nearby and am in there a couple of times a week for just a few items. You wouldn't want to do a large shop here but to save a supermarket trip for a few items, they're great. I understand their prices may be higher than a regular supermarket however there are several items I go out of my way to get here as they're a buck less than Fairway (also not a haven for the thrifty). They're pricing is the same or less as any neighborhood bodega or small grocery. The staff is unfailingly pleasant and accommodating although I don't always get the jokes the cashier regularly makes, something is getting lost in the translation. I'm glad this store is here, it's a night and day difference over the Associated that they replaced. read more

However, BEWARE of the ATM CHARGES. The other day, I withdrew cash and checked my balance just to make sure I had enough. Today I log into my bank account and see that I've been charged a whopping $7.95 in fees. Yes, that's right. $3 just for a balance inquiry, $3 for the ATM that isn't my own bank ATM, and $1.95 goes to Concord market. EIGHT BUCKS to withdraw cash? I work in the area - I have for a couple of years now and always had a difficult time finding something good to eat/some fresh food to bring home. Whoever the owner is, thank you thank you for opening up. Food is prepared fresh daily. You have carry a great selection of food for lunch and anything that I might need in my own home. I've found myself going to Concord sometime twice a day - for Lunch and to pick up a few things before crashing at my apartment. Food is very good. Service is superb. I was really taken back when one of the workers literally walked around the market with me quickly finding the items I was looking for. The chefs are professionals - one was telling me he works for an upscale french restaurant in the evenings. No matter how you slice it, Concord is a gem in downtown Brooklyn where a dedicated staff and meticulously chosen menu and stock make for the place shop. read more

I remember what was here before Concord Market and yes, it was sketchy, but at least you knew what you were getting from start to finish. CM is unreliable and increasingly overpriced. They occasionally have organic produce but almost all of it is wilted or moldy every time I go to the store. At least the old place also had beer, which, two years hence, this place still can't seem to provide. You are a captive audience here and they seem to know it, brands change from month to month so it's hard to know what is going to be there when you return. Also the prices seem to inch up all the time. Ramen went form .59 to .99 overnight, candy bars from .75 to .94 and sandwiches a few dollars. What used to seem tolerable for the convenience factor is now not quite worth it. The owners are great but the staff is 50/50. One day we ordered 2 sandwiches, waited 5 minutes for them while they were made (that's fine, it was busy) and then we got to the counter with the sandwiches and soda. "Credit Card machine is down." they said. "Oh, okay, I'll just get some money out of this ATM here." Nope "That's down too." Well I don't have any cash. "Sorry." she grabs the sandwiches back. "So you're going to throw away these sandwiches because you failed to tell people, before they shopped and ordered food, that they are unable to pay? You're going to waste the food when it's your fault it was made?" The only response was "Yes." There seems to be a flaw in the business model. I want to love it again but a series of missteps has ended the honeymoon phase. The owners and their family are lovely, I'm really surprised they haven't gotten it right yet. It should be noted that this may have to do with the overly-controlling, misinformed and fumbling idiocy that is the co-op board in the building. They make ridiculous and self-serving demands on their business renters, often driving them out because of their frustration, so the owners may not be to blame. *Update: Hooray Beer! read more

I was so incredibly thirsty after walking the Brooklyn bridge on a hot day last week, and used yelp to find the closest place I could get something to drink. And here it was! It's so close to the Brooklyn side of the bridge and can't be missed. Inside they were offering 2 large bottles of Gatorade for $3 which was awesome, and the staff seemed really lovely. I literally bike past this place daily on my way to work in the city. I honestly never realized it was a market until I, along with some friends, was canvassing the area for a place to buy liquor or beer before I went to a nearby festival in the area. This part of Brooklyn is really quite void of bodegas or delis and the likes. Long story short, I'm glad I peeked around the corner into this place. They had a couple of craft brews that I really liked and decided to purchase. They had an interesting curated section of sweets and snacks that'll make you take a second look at your options.
