I like that I could relax and let them do what they do so well, without having to make small talk.. outside of checking in to make sure I'm okay and that what they were doing was good. Well where do I start? Okay I went to get my toes done on March 17, 2013 at N T Nails but was quickly stopped in my tracks. There was an employee and customer argument going on right in front of my face lol WOW .. Apparently two of the nail techs were talking smack about all the customers in their language ( don't know what language) and get this!!! one of the customers knew the language and confronted the nail tech who then got all crazy on the customer calling her names and what not WOW... So do I recommend this place? HELL NO... I called the manager the next day to let him know what happen ..Did I get a satisfying response..NOPE... oh well I know I'm never going back there and neither are any of my friends and hopefully neither of you do. I feel so uncomfortable when im in a place where people are talking in another language. If you are going to have a business I suggest Rosetta Stone or ESL classes. read more

I could not be anymore unsatisfied with a nail salon. I went here to get shellac polish done and as soon as I got home they had already started chipping and the guy that originally did my nails said if they chip within seven days he would gladly fix them. Given I have a busy schedule, I wasn't able to get in until day five, so I called to make sure it was still okay if I go and get them fixed and they said they would. So when I arrived at the salon the lady started fixing the chipped nails and noticed the polish had changed colors,(idk if it was old or what) but instead of fixing all of my nails to match, which she should've done, she accused me of smoking and or putting lotion on my hands and that's why the color had changed. So now, I'm left with these ugly things. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS PLACE. read more

To the reviewer with the problem with foreign languages being used for what language is used for - to communicate - get over your xenophobia. Ever been to a taco truck? Anyway, I first heard of NT Nails through a friend recommendation. I have to say, my fingers and toes looked pristine on my way out. They also have fantastic massage chairs, and if you ask nicely they'll let you change the TV channels. I was having a particularly bad day the last time I stopped by, so on his way out the door the owner treated me to dinner. What a nice guy! I will definitely be coming back! Not very happy with my experience on Sunday. I called ahead and schedule 2 pedicures for myself and a friend. We showed up on time and there wasn't 1 spot open. They finally seated us in the pedicure chairs and told us it would be another minute until they were ready for us. 20 minutes later our water is freezing cold and we still haven't been helped. I asked one of the ladies to heat my water since I was shivering and she told me that it would be a few minutes. Another 20 minutes passed (40 minutes past our appointment time) and they finally started helping my friend. 50 minutes after our appointment time and they finally helped me. NOT worth the wait....not worth the $$. read more

Not a bad place to get a pedi but it wasn't performed with attention to detail. Plus I was not comfortable with a male employee but my request was not understood, so I tried not to be difficult and agreed to the service. I had to ask for alcohol to disinfect my toes a few times during the process as the tools kept being placed randomly on the side table without sanitation and being used on me again. So, they took me and my grandma instantly, so I will admit that their service with customers was good. However, as soon as I asked for these nails (picture 1), they said it was very hard to do, so it was going to be 55 dollars. I thought that was reasonable. When she got started, she did a pretty good job applying the acrylics. My issue was with the paint job. She applied the purple coats unevenly and left some parts unpainted (picture 2). When working on the nail design's for my ring fingers, she totally butchered them!!! The stars didn't look sharp at all. I had to ASK her if I could do it because I didn't want them to end up bad. I painted both pink stars on both of my hands (picture 3)-and mind you, I'm right handed and still managed to do a better job on both sides. Plus, I'm a 15 year old girl who has never done nails professionally; I've never had any training. The nail tech lady has had training and can't even do this design. She handed me her miniature brush and everything. She continued with the white parts, which were incredibly uneven and blobby (just like how the pink stars looked before I fixed them). I tried to be nice, but it was obvious that she was having a hard time doing them. Everything else was okay. When it was time to pay, I thought they might reduce the cost because I did some of the work (around 45-50 bucks) but they didn't. If I didn't get the design, it was going to be around 40-45 bucks. I would understand if the salon couldn't do a good job on the design bc my nails were small and it was just too hard for them, but my issue is that they said they could do exactly what was in picture 1. I've been going to get my nails done at their salon on and off for years, and they've always had an issue with evenly applying the base coats. This was the first time I asked them for a simple design +acrylics, and they could barely even provide that. I am incredibly unhappy with the paint job. I feel like the pink stars kind of saved the look, but I will NOT be coming back here ever again.

They had an excellent choice of colors, but ultimately I chose a classic gel french pedicure. Amy got me started in the bowl and gave me a menu of their services with prices listed clearly, I chose the Deluxe Spa Pedicure for $50, it included scrub, massage, hot rocks, and warm towels. Honestly this pedicure was so relaxing and I highly recommend getting the Deluxe as an extra little treat for less than $20 more than the basic spa pedicure!! Amy had amazing attention to detail and would ask me periodically if I liked the nail shape, or french design etc. She did an amazing job and having tried many salons in Modesto including some chains, I can confidently say this is the best pedicure I've had in a very long time! People don't give attention to detail anymore, but Amy was fantastic and took her time, and still had me out in under an hr! They were upfront in their pricing and in total I paid $72 for the Deluxe Pedicure, Gel polish, French Nail art. They do accept card as payment, but only accept tips in cash and don't have an ATM so be aware of that. I highly recommend Mimi's Nails and especially Amy for pedicures. Without warning, he started clipping them off and then used an old artificial nail to pry the remaining acrylic from my natural nail. I was looking down at my phone when I suddenly felt intense pain. When I looked up, my natural nail had been cut open and was bleeding. The technician asked if I was scared. I told him, "No, I'm not scared, I'm in pain." I also explained that this was not the proper way to remove acrylic nails. Instead of stopping, he attempted to continue. At that point, I told him not to touch my nails and that they needed to be soaked off properly. As a licensed cosmetologist and salon owner, I understand professional sanitation and safety procedures. The way my nails were being removed was unacceptable and resulted in an injury. Another staff member eventually took over, but what disappointed me most was that no one apologized for hurting me or acknowledged what had happened. Accidents can happen, but professionalism, concern for the client, and accountability matter. Unfortunately, I did not receive any of those things during my visit.
