It got really bad and so, I stopped by this place because my phone was dead and it's right my by apartment. I literally took a leap of faith. Mark was immediately welcoming and asked to see my car. Drove and saw him for a free estimate which he got to me that evening. I asked him when I was at his shop doing the estimate about how long he thought it would take. He said a week or less. I told him I wanted to be in San Antonio on the following Wednesday. He informed me he would have space for me the next day, Thursday. I checked the estimate and brought the car back to him on Thursday after work. Matt was waiting for me. He was communicative, prompt, affable, funny and smart. I could tell from the minute I started talking with him I liked him. On his day off, Sunday, he called me and told me that he thought he could definitely make that happen and he did. Mind you he just had a baby girl so sleep was abviously an issue. He delivered and he delivered more than what he assured me that he would do and promised that he would do. The work that I received coupled with the transparency and honesty that he gave me regarding what I thought was possibly a bent axle or hub which was actually only a control arm which he diagnosed replaced and fixed when he could have told me it was more. Fixing the wheel and then color matching my very detailed Pearl paint. Wow! When I was picking up my car, I walked into his office and told him it looked better than when I bought it. Matt told me he does things like he would do them for himself. I'm the same way and respected the hell out of that. I went to fill up my car and realized he had not cut any corners when I noticed the inside of my fuel well door had been painted with the same care as the visible parts. This is a small business owner with ethics and quality of service that I strongly recommend.

Fast forward, a year later she unfortunately has another one with a low community poll that shouldn't have been there that tore up her bumper and grill. We now live out of state. On our way home to Austin on a 9 hr drive Tuesday, it occured to me to call Manny and see if he can last minute repair her raggedy bumper for a reasonable price out of our pocket (not hers or insurance). He says yes, but he can't complete it until Tues/Wed of next week. I stress the importance of me getting out of town by next Monday. So what does he do? He gets it done PERFECTLY by Friday. Days in advance for less than it would have cost me where we now live where the work would have been barely mediocre. We really appreciate Manny going out of his way and doing a great job. We highly recommend Gato! Thanks. We hope we don't have to return too soon for the same car. But if we do, we know where to go! Gato Body Shop.
