Do not recommend. They called to get my business but refused to give me any information unless I used them. Our car was totaled and we have been having trouble tracking down the policy holder and claim info. Apparently they have it but won't pass the information to me the vehicle owner. I'm an insurance agent over 15 years and would not recommend doing business or recommend any of my customers to them. I would have been more than happy to do business if they simply provided me with claim info. To hold that info hostage unless we do business with them is borderline illegal. Bad business practice all around not willing to help a potential client. read more

In my experience, Autocraft Bodywerks is not equipped to work on Teslas. After Central Texas's May 2024 hailstorm, my Tesla Y needed major body repair. I went against my better judgment and brought it to Autocraft Bodywerks instead of the Tesla Collision Center; the former had a shorter wait time. The San Marcos shop had my car for *four months* before returning it to me with a slew of problems, mainly an audibly loud wind noise coming from the passenger side, and both right side doors and the trunk not closing without being slammed. The South Austin location then attempted to remedy their sister shop's work (they did manage to repair some of the interior damage that was caused by the San Marcos shop - thank you for that, Tammie), but they did not fix the wind noise or the doors, and in fact there are now two additional external problems - one being the frunk/hood not being properly aligned and the other involving the trunk. It appears that they do not know what they are doing. I don't know how else to summarize my experience. Unfortunately, my insurance paid them upfront and now I'm left with a vehicle that doesn't function properly. I do not recommend bringing your Tesla to them. I've included some photos to illustrate their workmanship and attention to detail: read more

Excellent work on my Tesla S. Can't tell from the factory paint. Replaced a fender and charge port. Stated in contact and updated regularly. Easy and pleasant to work with. Looks brand new! read more

This is how a body shop or any business should be run! Such an amazing experience working with Tammie at Autocraft. We came to Autocraft under difficult circumstances. We had scraped the side of our rear driver side door on our Model Y pulling into our garage. We took the car to another body shop and they completely botched the job - the paint was a complete mismatch and they had sanded the door down so badly that there were no body lines left. It was completely unacceptable and needed to be fixed. We knew that we needed to take it somewhere that knew exactly how to handle a Tesla and restore it back to factory. Autocraft was exactly what we needed. They concluded that the previous work was so bad that we needed a new door. Once we decided to go with them, they promptly ordered the door for us and got us on their schedule. Tammie and Jaci were amazing. Our insurance initially didn't want to cover this because of the initial botched job, but Tammie fought for us the whole way and ran it all the way up the chain and got it approved. Amazing. On top of the above and beyond customer service, the work was flawless. They completely restored our Model Y back to factory. Don't make the mistake we did and use a non-Tesla approved body shop. Autocraft is the only choice. read more

Owning a Tesla is expensive, so don't let it surprise you that getting one repaired is also expensive. However, Autocraft took great care of my car and me! They worked with my insurance well and got my car fixed efficiently. I dropped it off before going on vacation and they got it done for me to pick up between getting home and leaving town again. The complimentary touch ups were a nice bonus! The detail job was even better! Sarah, the receptionist is awesome! She was friendly and helpful. Tammy, the GM, was also responsive and personable. They only service Teslas at this location, but based on my experience, I would recommend giving their south location a shot for another vehicle. Highly recommend this business! read more

Just received my Rivian and it had some paint overspray from the factory. Called Rivian and they recommend Autocraft as they are the only certified body shop in Austin that they have a relationship with. I stopped by and they took care of my paint issue quickly and got me in and out in 30mins. Was very happy with the service. Will recommend to others. I also have a tesla and would not hesitate taking it here if needed. Thanks! read more

Awesome auto body shop! Ever since getting my Tesla I have been nervous about getting any body work done due to an accident. Autocraft made this process so streamlined and easy. Tammie is the GEM of this place. She kept me informed if each step by text message. It was really refreshing as this is how I treat my own customers. I picked up my car cleaner then when I dropped it off. Everything was packed up in to reusable bags. My rear end accident looks better than brand new. Autocraft Bodywerks - Body Shops Near Me - Austin, Texas

This is hands down the best Tesla certified body shop in Austin. If you're nervous like I was when you needed to get your Tesla fixed, please don't go just anywhere, trust me and go here. I am beyond happy with the service I received with them! I was caught in a hail storm on the way back from a road trip after only having my Tesla Y for one month. There were an abundance of dents all over the entire body. After having a bad experience and estimate at a nearby Tesla certified shop that tried to take advantage of us, I was recommended to them by our Insurance adjuster. Wow, they did not disappoint. The whole team is exceptional, but Tammie is truly a gem. When I dropped my car off she quickly did an evaluation of the damage and knew what needed to be done to repair the damage and get insurance to pay. She really knows what she is doing and has the tenacity and follow through to make sure it's done, and done right. I so appreciated that. When she texted me only a few days after I dropped it off saying that it was done, I almost cried because it was done so fast, and I didn't even have to call the insurance company myself..she took care of everything. When we picked up the car, it was like brand new- I was amazed! They even replaced the PPF that needed to come off for the repair- something I was not expecting considering how stubborn our insurance company was. The whole entire experience was excellent. If you're looking for a reputable & honest shop that can make your Tesla look brand new again, stop researching and go here. Your headache will be over and you will be happy. read more

Christian and Edgar took great care of me and my car - back to new and hassle free auto body repair.

Just wanted to give a recommendation for Autocraft Bodywerks on Roxie Dr. in North Austin. A couple weeks ago I came into my garage a little to close and brushed the door frame on the rear passenger side. I was crushed because I'm a stickler about keeping my cars in mint condition. The other thing was, with the labor shortage, car repairs are taking forever. I also have a Land Rover. Someone hit my in a parking lot last April. Between going through the insurance rigamarole and the back log at Caliber, the repairs on that vehicle were finally completed this month. I've done business with both and have been happy with the end results, so I tried making appointments at Caliber and Service King. They would only take online submissions and Service King let me know that it would be about a month before they would be able to do the repair. Service King gave me an estimate of $1500 and Caliber replied that they needed to see it because it may only be paint transfer that could be buffed out, about which I was skeptical. I tried calling twice to make an appointment and gave up after being on hold for over 15 minutes both times. Initially I had tried to go through Tesla service on the app, but a day later was informed I'd need to go to a body shop. One of the recommended shops was Autocraft Bodywerks, who works exclusively on Teslas at the location nearest to me in N Austin. I was out of town last week, so my first opportunity to call them was yesterday. Tammie, the manager, gave me the option to come in that afternoon. I wasn't free so I made the appointment for this morning. I came in to a very clean and modern reception area, where I waited while they looked at it. After about 10 minutes, Tammie came to let me know that they were pretty sure it was paint transfer and scratches they could buff it out and could do it on the spot if I had a few minutes. Still skeptical that was going to restore my car to the mint condition I desire, I was pleased they were offering an inexpensive option. 10-15 minutes later they pulled my car back up to the front and I was blown away! Check out the before and after pics below. Looks like nothing ever happened! Not just that, when I asked how much I owed them, Tammie gave me her business card and insisted some positive online reviews would cover it! This was pretty long-winded, but I wanted to highlight this great experience by contrasting it with the recent challenges I've gone through with competitors. All this, in addition to the fact they only work on Teslas, has made me a raving fan and Autocraft Bodywerks customer for life. read more

Tammie and team were very responsive to requests and delivered the car at the promised time. Highly recommend them.

They had my Tesla ready to go 4 days before the estimated date! Tammie was so nice and kept me updated on everything they were doing the entire time. They even work with the enterprise just up the road and took me to get my rental and turned in my rental for me when I picked my car up. Best experience ever!!! They gave it back fully repaired to showroom condition, washed, detailed, and fully charged. 10/10 would recommend and use again. Hopefully won't have to though! read more

Great customer service and quality work. Our Model 3 was beaten up pretty badly after one of the recent hail storms (really extensive damage - only the bumpers were unscathed). Fortunately, we had full coverage. After filing a claim and scheduling a virtual inspection with our insurance adjuster, we started calling various Tesla-certified body shops to discuss quotes and next steps. Naturally, all of them were swamped with hail damage customers. Of the three places I called, only one told us to bring the car in for a look. The rest told us to wait for an initial estimate from the adjuster. While I understood that an initial estimate from the adjuster was a necessary first step (and that no one could really do anything until this step was completed), I decided to go with Autocraft because they told me to bring it in anyway. Their proactive approach, stellar reviews, and all of the positive referrals from other Tesla owners were all the convincing I needed. The car was still drivable, so I swung by and they took a look. In a few short minutes, Tammie performed a walk-around and gave me a ballpark estimate. She knew exactly what needed to happen. As it turned out, her estimate would be accurate. I returned home knowing I'd be back as soon as our insurance approved the repairs. Tammie and her team are really on top of their game. They handled the endless back and forth with our insurance and didn't back down. They told me to keep the car while they dealt with the adjusters (Tammie noted that our insurance company was notoriously slow to work with and advised us to enjoy our car in the meantime). Autocraft kept us informed throughout their insurance negotiations. A month (!) and $22k later, the car was finally approved for repairs. Lots of parts and electronic components needed replacing and repainting while the rest consisted of paintless dent repairs (quite a project). When they were done, they detailed it and everything. Looks as good as the day we picked it up from the showroom. If our Model 3 ever needs work again (hopefully not), I'm definitely going back. read more

Autocraft Bodywerks - My Tesla Model 3 after Autocraft Body Works repaired $22k-worth of hail damage. - Body Shops Near Me - Austin, Texas

I was just involved in my first major accident and Autocraft Bodywerks made it as painless as my initial Tesla buying experience was. As much as I love my Model 3, Tesla as a company has completely gone down the toilet. As Elon had said, moving from a "delivery" company to a "service" company has been an incredibly arduous journey for them, and I do not think Tesla currently has the leadership or personnel to provide good, continued service well into the future. That's why I'm glad individually owned companies like Autocraft exist. From the first moment of talking to the receptionist, Sarah, to each individual team member, Tony for example, it's clear that people like working here and providing great service. Each team member seems to have skin in the game and strives to provide good customer service and the necessary human touch to help guide customers like me through a scary and very stressful experience. Whether it was working with the other party's insurance and ironing out a lowball insurance claim to making sure my car got fixed in as timely a manner as possible, everyone here was awesome. I would highly recommend Autocraft to anyone looking to fix a Tesla. My Model 3 looks as good as new and I would say that some parts even look better than new! read more

I never imagined I would call an auto-body repair shop a sanctuary, but here we are. Mother Theresa's invocation toward simplicity and elegance? Check. Beautiful flowers and tranquil waiting room? Check. Constant communication, ease of drop-off and pick-up, timeliness, excellent repair work? Check. When genuine thought and care is infused in everything you do, this kind of place is the result. If you have a Tesla that needs repair, go out of your way to come here. Tammie and her crew will take care of the rest. read more

I'm blown away by the level of service I got from Autocraft. My Tesla got rear-ended, had trouble getting the runaround from insurance. Autocraft squeezed me into their busy schedule, did a FANTASTIC job getting the dents out, and went above and beyond detailing my car inside and out.... after I'd been out on a camping trip(!) The car looked as good as it did on the day I bought it, I was truly blown away by this. I hope to not have to need any more body work, but if I do, I'll bring it to Autocraft, no question. read more

My MX Tesla was rear-ended and we found Autocraft Bodywerks on the Tesla recommended list. After making the appointment, we were told that it would take up to 3 weeks, mostly depending on the insurance company and supply of parts. It did take a long time from May 23 to June 23, however, the insurance company did take 3 weeks to look at the car. From that day forward, Tammy did a wonderful job in getting our MX ready for us in an almost miraculous time. The car looked fabulous and the clean up to the entire MX, including the tires was just like Tammy said, "it had a very good time at the Spa". Thank you Tammy, I would absolutely recommend AUTOCRAFT BODYWERKS NORTH to anyone that asks. Tammy, you are the BEST!!! Sweet, nice, communicative and trustworthy!!! Have a wonderful summer! I brought my tesla in to the shop recently for the second time, and I did not consider any other body shop due to the quality of the work and overall satisfaction from my previous visit. The second time visit was every bit as great as the first. Drop off and pick up were a breeze and in between I could get an update or address any questions with immediate response from the shop manager Tammie. Work was completed on time with expert quality and the detail job made it feel as if I was picking up a brand new car again. They even offered to repaint rock chips on the hood from my previous repair for free. They provide elite repairs and customer service and stand behind their work. Highly recommend. read more

I was in a fender bender earlier this year, in my 2015 Tesla Model S, on which I had done some aftermarket work: tint, chrome delete, powder coated rims, and ceramic coating. My tint guy (Brian Daly, Austin Detailing) recommended Autocraft Bodywerks and I couldn't be happier with the results. The damage was pretty extensive - the entire left side of the car needed repair, including total replacement of the rear passenger door. I worked directly General Manager Tammy the whole time - she was fantastic every step of the way. She was hyper responsive and accommodating to all of my questions, even walking me back to inspect their work along the way. When it comes to my car, I'm a perfectionist - I can honestly say that the car looks better now than it did before the accident. Their attention to detail has been astounding. Paint blending is absolutely perfect. They even took the car back to my tint guy for me to handle tint, chrome delete, ceramic where it was needed, and getting a perfect replacement wheel. I had some battery issues after I got the car back, and Tammy was all over it, working directly with Tesla service on my behalf to get things repaired and sorted out.
