This is the second time (for another home) that Thomas has helped me with a roof. I've compared quotes both times and they're always a great middle ground in terms of $. Not the most expensive quote, but also not the cheapest (I mean, who wants the cheapest for such a big investment). They have good quality, are able to get the job done fast, always getting back to me quickly even if I texted or emailed at night with a question. Roof came out beautifully! And when I had a concern about how the chimney looked since I couldn't really see if the shingles around it looked right, they came out right away and took pictures for me to explain things. Was recommended this company by a friend. Called and requested someone to take a look at a few spots on my roof. Confirmed during the call they serviced my area and provided my address and contact information. Appointment was setup but no one came during the time. Called to see if they were running late/something came up and the person that answered at first couldn't find the appointment. Once they found it, they stated they would call me back after speaking with the person and reschedule. Never received a call back. I called back at the end of the day but no one picked up. The next week I called several times on different days but no one picked up. I eventually put in a request on their website to see if they would respond via email, but got no response. Called twice today; same result. I put in a request on Yelp and it was immediately responded to stating unable to service. I'm not sure what is going on but I will move on to a different company. I had these guys out new siding on my home in November. Worst job ever. I am having it all redone by another company because it was basically falling off my house just two months after it was installed. These guys tried to rush the job. Didnt pay attention to detail. Broke the siding in several places and left it like that. Very sloppy job nit to mention they never said they were subcontracting the job and another company came to do the siding. I used NOVA Rooftek on a small roofing project to try them out. Their installer was fantastic - very careful and professional. So I hired them to replace our siding, windows and trim late last year. I continue to find problems today. It looks like they subcontract the work. They seemed to install the Hardie Plank well, but didn't do a great job with the joints of the PVC trim. Worse, they did not set the Cortex screws deep enough in most cases, so the plus stand out too high. I have to find a way to fix that before I can paint the trim. When I went to replace the outside lights, I discovered they had reinstalled some of the old lights before they caulked between the siding and trim, so there open gaps in there. More concerning, there were no electrical boxes in the new sheathing - they just pulled the wire through and screwed the light to the PVC block. It was extremely difficult to install electrical boxes after the fact. There were other issues, but you get the picture. read more

I had someone come out to look at replacing the trim along the roof. Dave gave me a quote that was a number written on a scrap of notebook paper and said to call back if I wanted something official. He also mentioned that if I wanted to repair some sagging plywood on our roof they could do both. When I called back (just for the trim, not the roof) for a contract, they said they'd email it to me and never did. I tried calling and emailing several more times over the next two weeks with no response. When I finally got a hold of someone, they said that they wouldn't do the trim alone -- they would only repair the trim if I also used them to repair the roof. That was a big bait-and-switch, that was not the reason I called them for an estimate, Dave mentioned that as a possible add-on but in no way said that was required. They completely wasted my time (the half day off work I took off to get a useless estimate and the time I spent calling/emailing later) and were completely unprofessional. Edit based on company response: I requested a trim repair, NOT a roof repair. If that wasn't possible, I should have been told that up front instead of weeks later. I was perfectly happy with the price of the trim repair and would have loved to move forward with that but no one would get back to me. I called multiple times because no one answered the phone (despite the website saying they're open 24/7) and there was no option to leave a voicemail. My attempts to reach out had nothing to do with not accepting the service arrangement, because no one had told me what that arrangement was. If you consider it harassment to have potential customers call you, you shouldn't be in business. read more

TLDR: I had a great experience. I contacted many roofing companies to repair an area on my home where some birds had separated my gutter from my roof and made a nest. NOVA Rooftek was quick to get me on the books for an estimate. Like an idiot, I forgot the day of the estimate and was not home. Fortunately they completed the estimate anyway and I hired them to do the work. Since this involved pests in the attic, this work was also coordinated with a pest remover and they were very willing to work with the schedule of the pest company. The "code" comment/concern/issue is false as the roof is not "flat". If you have the county code for this property's roof then please share. I received two other estimates for a traditional shingle roof. Additionally, the same model house two doors down just had their roof replaced with the traditional shingles. If you in fact have the "legal code" news then please provide to share with the neighborhood. Furthermore, I've never had any business give me an over-the-phone "estimate." It's always written to allow a property owner to review and make a decision. In this case, a roof that meets "code" regardless of type and price is up to the property owners not the property manager. I needed a written estimate to send to the property owners living in Japan, NOT a partial cost guess of $36K by the rep who picked up my call and then telling me he would need to ask "Timothy" if a written estimate is feasible. Really? I am not doubting or judging your expertise in roof installs. My concern is in the customer service. Your company should be able to provide a clear written estimate for a potential client to make a decision on the work. I requested via yelp projects. They were one of the companies that responded. I had an older roof for my rental but really just wanted to repair as it was a small leak. Some other companies just said they only do replacement and not fixes. Which I can appreciate completely. When they finally came out and did an estimate, the person called me and told me quotes cannot be given over the phone and had to be in person. I'm not sure exactly why, but told him that it's a rental and I'm not able to meet him anytime soon. He then told me that it was extremely dangerous there and I need to inform my tenants asap. He then proceeded to tell my tenants the same thing and freaked them out. Thankfully I went with another roofer and fixed at a fraction of what they would charge me. I just had a new roof installed and I wanted to make sure it had been done properly. One of my neighbors recommended NOVA Consulting and I am glad they did. We had a few scheduling mixups in getting Thomas out here, but I understand that he is coming from Alexandria, and I am glad that he services our area. Once, he arrived, he did a thorough and detailed roof inspection. He caught some minor adjustments that the roofing company needed to fix. I thought that it was smart that his report detailed the positive things that the roofing company did, as well as the things they needed to repair. He climbed up in my attic and took pictures for me to see. He climbed up on the front and back of the roof. He really took his time evaluating the roof. I thought he was amazing. I took off one star, because of the initial difficulty in scheduling and the fact, that I emailed a question after the report came back to me and no one responded. I contacted 6 different roofing companies and NOVA Rooftek was not only the first to respond but also the most affordable by a long shot. Thomas came out the day after I spoke with him to look at the area on our roof that was leaking due to a poorly installed satellite dish. He gave me a fair quote to remove the satellite, install some new plywood where the old had started to rot, and replace the surrounding shingles. He also took a look at the whole roof and gave me a free assessment of the overall condition of it which I greatly appreciated. This company was excellent from start to finish and I would highly recommend them to anyone who needs a new roof. This whole thing started for us when mysterious leaks began appearing in our ceilings after storms. We were told by a repairman that the problem was holes in the roof. We had several companies come out and take a look, and NOVA Rooftek was the last company we called. I was immediately impressed with Thomas because of his honesty and knowledge, and the time he took to actually get to the bottom of the problem. Even though it was against his interests to do so, he advised us that the ceiling stains were most likely caused by an issue with our siding, not the roof, and recommended getting a siding company to look at it. He also repaired the roof holes for SIGNIFICANTLY less money than we had been quoted by others - $300 as compared to $1,200 quoted by the next lowest company. We already knew our roof was old (last replaced in 1992) but he also pointed out that there was significant storm damage. He was pretty confident that if we wanted to get our roof replaced, insurance would pay for it. He explained how insurance companies assess storm damage and what the process might look like. We had not thought to contact insurance before this because we figured there was no chance of coverage given the roof's age. In the end, insurance DID agree to pay for the replacement and we went with NOVA Rooftek for the work. I'm actually amazed at how smooth the process was. One of the things that really stood out to me was their responsiveness and communication - both Thomas and Dan were incredibly available to answer any questions or concerns I had, answered the phone and responded to my emails immediately - as in, within minutes. I really appreciated this. They also really took care to avoid any damage to our yard, which I've heard can be a problem with some companies. A neighbor actually ran up to us after the work was done and raved about how impressed she was with how they protected our plants. She said she had never seen a company take such care to tarp over everything and clean up so thoroughly afterwards. And most importantly, we love the new roof! It looks great and we have gotten a lot of compliments :) They use a high quality type of shingle that is longer lasting and looks very attractive - our roof looks much more textured and dynamic (I'm attaching some pictures). Another neighbor put it best - "we thought your roof looked fine before, but DAMN! Now it looks fantastic." Even with the higher quality shingles, the cost was about the same as what the other companies had quoted for a roof replacement. Can't say enough about NOVA Rooftek and Thomas when it came to coordinating and replacing our roof. Their pricing was competitive and reasonable. The value we received was more than other competitors were offering at the time. Thomas was very fast at responses and once the paperwork was signed, the roof was repaired in mere days. Not only did the roof shingles get replaced, but NOVA Rooftek also replaced any rotting plywood and cleaned/readjusted the gutters. During the intervening time, I found that I was missing siding. I only have great things to say about Nova Rooftek, Thomas, and Daniel. Rooftek was recommended to me by both my Realtor and Home Inspector - who did not know each other or know that they were both recommending the same company. It isn't surprising that they came highly recommended. We had our attic inspected by Nova Rooftek after a serious leak and they found a damaged spot that was blackened with water damage. The roof was already on its last leg (~25-30 years) and so we decided to replace the roof and the boards that had rotted. Daniel was extremely helpful throughout the entire process, checked in to make sure certain color decisions were right, and followed up with another attic inspection to make sure everything was taken care of. The crew arrived early, kept our property as clean as they could, and were gone by nightfall. They worked really efficiently. Thomas did a follow up inspection. Unfortunately, and likely inevitably, there was a lot of debris in our attic and Thomas kindly lent us a shop vac to help with a bit of the clean up. I highly recommend NOVA ROOFTEK. I contacted several roofing companies to do an on site inspection to assess whether I need a roof replacement or just a patch up. None of them physically went up to the roof to inspect it. Only satellite imagery and eye check from the ground level was used (COVID is not an excuse.. you can climb a ladder to check a roof without coming into contact with people). Needless to say, Daniel Sears from NOVA ROOFTEK not only gave me a free inspection and actually climbed up to take a look, but worked with my insurance company to make sure I didn't have to pay a dime more than was necessary. He also helped me remove an old satellite dish that was there from the previous owner of the home. He wore a mask and shoe coverings any time he entered my home. When the tech, Thomas, arrived I attempted to explain, about the two areas of concern I have relating to my roof. I was doing this from an open window, while he was outside, because I'm keeping social distance. Almost immediately, Thomas made it clear, that he wasn't interested in listening to anything I had to say. Just when I requested that he walk to the exterior front of the house, where he would be able to see the discolored brick concerning me, he ignored me. Instead doing as I asked, he just walked away from me. And before I knew it, Thomas was in my house and then upstairs, in my second story. I was shocked! When I realized he was inside, I called out to him, again telling him that I needed to have him look at the stained brick on the front of the house, and the only way to see it was by being out front. And I asked if he was wearing shoe coverings on, to which he said no. I explained that this was a on shoe house. Once he was back outside of my home and in the front exterior of the house, I pointed to where the brick was stained, and he played dumb. The stain it very apparent. But his arrogant attitude wouldn't allow him to show grace and he acted like an annoyed teenager. Acting like he wasn't understanding me.
