Because the company has such high ratings here on Yelp, I really wanted to use them to repair my siding. I have loose siding due to recent wind storms. Further, I know my siding is pretty old so I wanted to receive their recommendations concerning when I should repair my siding and an estimate to replace it. Well, I called them on 3/20, then 3/24, and finally on 3/27. Each time I called I was told to hold for the project manager. After a short hold, I was told that the project manager was not available and would call me back. I called three times and was ignored three times. In the summer of 2022, I contacted Freddy and Son to check on damage to my roof, and found I was eligible for a full roof replacement, most of which was covered by insurance--sounds great! The team was very responsive and quick to answer all of my questions and concerns before the work was done, and the work started promptly when it was supposed to (in July), and finished same day. I was happy w/ their attentiveness to protecting the plants and landscaping around the house while the work was done, and they came back out to sweep for nails when I asked them to. But, here's where my struggle started. Almost immediately, I noticed that the roof over my garage had a noticeable slope to it (see picture). I asked someone to come out and explain why my previously not sloped roof now was. They said someone would come out, but no one did. On August 15, 2022, Amanda contacted me asking for the final payment, and it wasn't until I said I was still waiting on someone to come out and check on that BEFORE I intended to pay them, that they finally sent someone. They said they think it might just be the structure of the roof (but again, strange I hadn't noticed this before the work was done, and no one entered the crawl space below the slope to check). In the summer of 2023, Brian from Freddy and Son contacted me asking how things were going w/ the roof and if I was interested in a Solar estimate. I said sure to the estimate, but I was still concerned about the slope, and noticed a number of my new shingles had these pronounced holes. So they took a quick look during the estimate on July 3rd, but weather prevented them from safely going up on the roof. They said someone would return to get into the attic crawl space and try to figure out why the roof was sloping, and to follow up about the shingles. But then radio silence--they didn't even send over the estimate for the solar panels. I emailed Brian on August 30th asking for a follow up and when someone might be able to come out and check up on those things, and no response. I called the company again, and will happily update my review if they do better follow-up work than they have, but so far I've been really unimpressed with their responsiveness to concerns once they have their funds. read more

I contracted Freddy & Son for replacing a roof that came out to $56k. The crews that do the work are hard working people but there is no proper management or supervision and you have to basically be out there supervising yourself, which is not what I hire a company for, especially with my limited Spanish. Part of the project included some rotten wooden fascia that we wanted replaced to a metal roof water table with a significant pitch. When the project was nearly finished, the pitch was minimal due to miscommunication on the company's end. Their solution was to try to bill us an extra $1800 for their miscommunication. When you look at their website, this is a project they have already done, so it's not due to lack of experience. We had planned on having them come out next year to replace the fascia on three other triangles, replace our gutters and siding on some dormers, but with this type of treatment, we will not be repeat customers. If this is how they're willing to treat a customer paying $56k out of pocket, not through insurance, I believe they'll have no trouble doing that or worse to a smaller project. They up charge 200% for replacement plywood at $110 per, which at Home Depot & Lowes they only cost $37, which is where the project manager, Brandon, told me he went that day. He claimed to be a project manager, but he was only here to ask for money on day one of a five day project. We had already paid the deposit, so the job was already $41k paid out of the original $50k contract prior to the extra wood charge. $5k for 39 pieces of plywood, which they claimed they would take pictures of but I have none, just a bill for an extra $5k. I don't think it's professional to ask for a complete payment prior to completion of the job. They state a 50/20/10 year warranty on the product and worksmanship and I have trouble believing they will live up to their end when the time comes. Go elsewhere. Also, they took away about 18% of extra material and chose to charge us for it anyway read more

Our roof needed replacing after several patch jobs over the past five years. I called Freddy and Son roofing after a referral from a friend. I worked with Steven and his professionalism was on point. Walked us through the process and and estimate. The crew showed up on time on the scheduled date and time, took time to cover up around garage and neighbors yard to prevent debris from dirtying up their yard. They cleaned up after the job was finished. Steven took time to inspect the roof before and after the job was done. We had them replace our entire roof but this company has no supervision and when there is problem, it's hard to communicate with the workers on site and hard to have their "project manager " reply on time (replied me 3 weeks later on phone). Their estimate is higher than other companies but they promised they will use more materials as well as additional pictures when we needed. They did took a lot of extra materials away after the job done without consulting with us ( which add up about cost of 4k). We would satisfy if they make amends to their mistake but instead they blame us not stating clear what we want on the contract and trying to charge more for repair. Typical bait and switch scam! I had them replace a roof on my new home (2 1/2 years old), after it was damaged in a hail storm. Although the installation went well, and they replaced several sheets of roofing wood, due to water rot (the builder did not do a good job) and everything was good until..... I had a recent water leak from a storm. They said they would guarantee their work and if I ever had a problem to call them. Well, I called to let them know I needed them to check out the source of the leak and they NEVER called me back! I hired another roofer to check it out and they found that Freddy and Son Roofing had not sealed the shingles that were against vents for the toilet and exhaust fans. The new roofer sealed them properly. They claim good customer service, but once they have your money you are forgotten about. UPDATE: After posting the initial review I received a call, on the weekend, from them, first to apologize for not getting the message and second to see what they could do to help and even to reimburse me for any expenses I may have incurred. I informed them that the new roofer/contractor was giving me estimates for other work and they repaired the roof leak while there. I did, however, have a water stain on the ceiling and the ceiling would need to be repainted (it was a model home and the ceiling is a custom color). I advised them of the color code and brand of pain (Behr) and they scheduled a painter to come to the house and repaint with two coats and even left me the remaining paint. The painting was well done and they worked with my schedule. I do believe them that something went wrong with the fact the no one got the messages to call me and they went above and beyond to make things right. I can now recommend them highly. read more

Our roof was over 20 yrs old when a wind storm started ripping off shingles everywhere so we called Freddy and Son Roofing. They promptly returned our call and sent someone out to take a look then again to meet with insurance adjustor. Once the full replacement was approved by our insurance company, Edward helped us schedule the job and it was done within weeks. Replacement plywood was expensive! The crew was polite and worked hard to finish in one day. Clean-up was great, no nails or trash in the yard. A couple of months later we noticed that some rain water was running off the side of the roof just prior to the gutter system so we called. Carlos quickly replied and scheduled a crew to come out and take a look. They installed a small piece of flashing to route the water back towards the gutter - it seems to work o far. read more

Freddy and Son built two changes in slope to improve drainage, which should improve the life of the roof. I also got gutter guards. As realtors, my husband and I have plenty of experience with many local roofing companies. Freddy and Son was one of our first calls. Once we met Robert, we knew they were right for us and our roof. This means a lot because we had a tired cedar shake roof on some really high pitches AND needed to file an insurance claim! Every part of Freddy & Son is knowledgeable, capable, timely, courteous, and has excellent communication. Their insurance department worked with my adjuster. Robert was with me every step of the way - from getting up on my roof to meeting my adjuster on site to following up after install. What about the crews that come to tear off the old roof and then the ones who install the new (GORGEOUS MATTE BLACK METAL) roof??? They were so hard-working! They even kept the yard as neat as possible throughout the entire process. By the end of install, I actually missed seeing some of their smiling faces! It's been a few weeks since we've had our roof replaced and there has been a ton of rain since then and we have been dry, warm, and happy. We had a full roof replacement, new gutters, skylights, the works. These guys really went above and beyond. They put top quality products on our roof- synthetic underlayment, did extra snow and ice shield, thoroughly checked our roof to make sure the plywood underneath was in good shape and took good care of us and our roof. They talk big before getting a homeowner to sign a contract. Freddie & Sons use their sub-contractors to replace the roof. And when you find out that the job by sub-contractors was not up to the standards or when you find issues later on, they will then say the issue is there because of some other issues. Basically, they will blame at other things to avoid their responsibility for the. They won't send out experts to come out and troubleshoot as they say they will. They sent an in-house handyman who just does TLC. The managers or production schedulers (as they say they are) just lie to you and say they will send experts, but they never show up. Very unprofessional. In one instance, one of the TLC people that they sent was so rude that I had to tell him to leave my property. My issue with my roof starts when it is raining. I asked them 100 times to send real-world expert when it rains so that we can all see what is really happening. I sent them numerous pictures and videos of the issue when it rained. Well, they never cared and never sent anyone. I think it is because they already got paid. They really don't give you any support if there is any issue after roof install. I guess they proved they aren't up to the standards. It has been more than a year now from the call when the Prod scheduler said he himself and the expert come over and look at it. That never materialized. They are just another roofing company out there to make $$$$$$$$. They don't care about the quality of the work they do, and they don't try to prove me wrong.
