The true test of a roofing project is its longevity, and I can't speak to that because my new roof is less than a month old. This review, then, is only about quality of service, which I could observe, not about quality of materials or workmanship, which will not be evident for quite some time. I took estimates from three highly rated roofers on Angie's List. St. Joseph's offer fell in the middle between the other two. It's worth noting that it was a tight grouping. All estimates were within a thousand dollars of each other. The main reason I went with St. Joseph's over the other companies is that Tim Kelly, the company's Sr. Project Manager, provided highly personalized service. For example, of the three companies that sent reps to inspect my roof and draft estimates, Tim was the only one who also inspected the inside of my attic. (Interestingly, the company with the highest bid didn't show up at all. They wrote up their estimate based on a satellite image of my house. High-tech, yes, but impersonal and not at all confidence-instilling.) Once the contract was signed, St. Joseph's sent out two crews on consecutive days, one to replace the roof and the other to replace the gutters. Both crews were mannerly and highly professional. The gutter crew even made suggestions for how they might redirect a couple of gutters over my porch so that they would drain more effectively, a task they completed at no extra charge. Both Tim Kelly and Kiki Fusco, the company's Insurance Operations Manager, were easy to get in touch with and responded to every one of my emails within one business day, at the most. They usually responded within hours. A couple days after the work had been done, I noticed that downspouts on two corners of my house had been set so low that my downspout extenders weren't draining completely. (Rainwater had to go uphill a little in order to clear the extenders.) I emailed Kiki about it, and she sent out a crew to address the issue almost immediately. My siding difficulties began in May 2015 after the hail storm put holes in my screens and siding on one side of my house. My insurance carrier paid for replacement of just the damaged pieces. No one wanted to take on this undertaking, which they let me know, by just ignoring my multiple inquiries. It was nearing the end of 2015 when I called St. Joseph's, as I had seen them at my neighbor's house on multiple occasions. FINALLY, someone was willing to come out and access the damage. I didn't hear back from them for a long time and thought, here we go again. A call to the owner, who had sent me his info in an email, got me an immediate response, a written estimate and an apology. They also explained why they wouldn't just pull out the damaged pieces, but instead needed to replace the whole side. I finally had some tangible info to send to my insurance carrier who approved the replacement within a few days. Due to the winter weather, the repairs didn't get done for a few months, but I now have new siding and window screens on the damaged side of my home. They did a great job! Even replacing the screening, while up on a ladder, because the screens were not removable. My only advice to St. Joseph's, to improve their service, would be to update their automated notification. It contained the contact info for someone who no longer worked there, which I discovered, after an email inquiry was unresponsive and so I called the office. Also, they should double check if all the work has been completed before sending out an invoice. The screening had been overlooked but was immediately taken care of when I notified them of such. I gave 5 stars because the work was well done, and even though I had to follow up on several occasions, they were courteous, quick to respond, and fulfill their commitment. We contacted St. Joseph's Roofing to get an estimate for replacing our roof and gutters. One of the spring storms had removed shingles and the roof needed to be replaced. An appointment was made with Ron. He arrived in the evening so that we could both meet with him. Prior to his arrival, we had received a slideshow from the company informing us of the process, materials, and warranty information. We could ask questions during this first meeting since we had read over the slides. He was professional and thorough. He looked at the roof and gutters. He inspected the attic and found that the venting had been done incorrectly through the soffits. He stated that this could also be included in the work order. He had sample materials that we could view, described the products available, and discussed the entire process from beginning to end. We were notified throughout the job with emails from Mark letting us know when the materials would be delivered and the workers would arrive. During the roofing job, the owner came to visit the job site and discuss any problems that had been discovered. On two occasions, when I contacted the company by email and phone to discuss schedule conflicts, the response was immediate and very clearly answered my questions. The workers protected my flowerbeds and trees. Both the roofing and gutter teams were professional, efficient, and left my yard looking beautiful. It was amazing and enjoyable for my boys watching them work. When the work was done, Ron came back to ensure that everything had been completed to our satisfaction. They were not the lowest bid, but we would use them again because of the great value they provided. read more

We are very pleased and satisfied with St. Joseph's roofing. They did a thorough job of assessing the condition of the existing roof, including climbing into our attic to actually see the condition of the plywood under the roof and how well the roof ventilation process was working. That allowed them to make a very good estimate to replace our roof. They also offered a long term guarantee when we used the proper high quality products. They recognized that the original roof had leaked at one time, so they recommended we contract with a company that could assess whether we had any mold or mildew issues and whether we needed to replace any insulation. We did hire a company and St. Joseph's worked very closely with them during the actual roof replacement. St Joseph had to remove part of the roof so that the other company could asses the insulation and mold situation. Fortunately for us, the leaks had been fixed many years ago and the ceiling drywall and insulation under the roof were totally dry and did not need to be replaced. St. Joseph's completed the job in two days, just as they planned. They cleaned up all debris at the end of the first day so that our driveway and walkways were completely clean. The workers were very professional while they were here and worked non stop from 8 am the 7 pm except for a half hour lunch break. We received complements from our neighbors on how professional the installation crew was. I used St. Joseph's Roofing to replace my entire townhouse roof after approximately 30% of the original, 8-year old shingles were blown off during a wind storm. After initiating the initial estimate, St. Joseph's sent multiple information packages with valuable detail outlining important roofing considerations along with details on St. Joseph's Roofing. This information was useful as a non-roofing expert. On the initial consultation Tim Kelly was very helpful answering my questions, outinging the options and making recommendations. Once the service was scheduled, the only delays were weather related. The mult-person crew arrived on time and completed the job that day. They did an excellent job cleaning my property leaving only minimal debris. Following the installation, Mr. Kelly came to inspect the roof, do an additional sweep of the property for metal, and answer any questions. I spoke with Maggie at the St. Joseph's roofing office multiple times, and she was always pleasant and helpful. The only area I wish St. Joseph's could improve is the notification time before the install or any install related changes. I was only notified after 8:00 p.m. the night before my service date changed due to weather and the night before it was reshceduled. This made it complicated to coordinate being at home for the install. I haven't noticed any problems since the service was completed. I thought the price was fair, and would use St. Joseph's again if I needed additional roofing help. read more

St Joseph's Roofing recently replaced my roof, and I am VERY satisfied with my experience with this roofer. Everyone I interacted with was extremely professional, friendly, and knowledgable. The entire process went well from the first phone call to the office manager to the completion of my project. It took only a few days to get an appointment for a price quote. The salesman was very knowledgable and efficient. He promptly sent me the proposal/contract; we made a change which literally took only about 15 minutes to turn around with signatures. I promptly received an email from the office manager providing information regarding my upcoming project. I had a deadline for getting my roof replaced, and the project scheduler was more than happy to accommodate my schedule reqest. The team arrived promptly to install the new roof, and shortly afterwards the project manager called me to see how things were going and to see if I had any questions. The team worked efficiently and each person was very pleasant. When the team finished, they did a sweep for nails, and the next day the project manager came to pick up unused materials and did another sweep for nails which really impressed me - he found 22 nails! The entire process was so smooth and efficient. I have dealt with one other roofer, and my experience with that roofer in no way compared with St Joseph's. I am very pleased that I used St. Joseph's Roofing to replace the shingles on my roof. Before I even met their estimator, I received via email a 61-pg. slide show on the do's and don'ts of roofs. I learned so much that I was able to ask intelligent questions of all the estimators (four in total) who came to check-out my roof. After receiving four estimates, I sat down to decide who to pick. I admit that I didn't pick the lowest estimate, because their estimator didn't appear to be as knowledgeable as I had expected. I picked St. Joseph's because their estimator knew what he was taking about, treated me with respect, and didn't pressure me. Also St. Joseph's offered me more with the estimate than the other companies. During a very rainy season, I was kept informed about the work schedule via email each day. When they finally could work on my roof, the workers were very efficient, hard-working, and courteous to me. A clean-up crew came by to clean up any debris left by the roofers. Later the estimator walked around my house with me to make sure that I was happy with their work. He also walked around my house and yard to get any debris that might have been left. When I received the invoice (I didn't have to pay until everything was approved by me), it was the exact amount the estimate had been. I can truthfully highly recommend St. Joseph's Roofing. Excellent quality and service. We had water spots in our ceiling and our roof had suffered hail damage. Nick Santschi, from St Joseph's Roofing walked us through the process and was very patient with answering all of our questions. We flip flopped back and forth on some options and Nick was very response and willing to go the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable with our final selection. I was very impressed. The crew did their job in one day. They were very careful and considerate of my neighbors property (we are a middle unit in 3 townhomes). This detail was appreciated because the recent storms in the DC Metro area seriously damaged the existing roof. Once the contract was signed the staff kept us fully informed of planned installation dates. This constant contact proved critical when more inclement weather affected schedules and caused leaks. Our experience with St. Joseph's was amazing! Their pricing was fair and lower than all the storm chasers that came knocking on our door. They were professional from beginning to end. The only slight concern I had was that our grass yellowed due to a tarp that was put down to catch debris. They were so concerned with our satisfaction that they said to hold off on payment until we saw that the grass greened up again which it did. They even offered to come out and water for us! In addition, they said that if it didn't they would come back in the fall and put down sod. Things must have changed since the last reviews. We had a new roof installed and new gutters as well. We were very pleased with the workmanship, value and timeliness. The price quoted was very much in line with the estimate from our insurer (in fact a bit below). This summer has had an unusually high number of storms so were not surprised to learn it would be several weeks before we could schedule the job. St. Joseph's Roofing actually was able to finish the job a month earlier than originally estimated. My husband and I highly recommend St. Joseph Roofing. Andy was helpful and patient all along the way in choosing the color of the roof, providing samples, and answering questions. Although the rainy weather made us wait a little, it was well worth it. The day of the roofing went smoothly.
