Selection: I got 3 roof quotes for some suspected moisture…read moreinvasion and roof issues discovered by another contractor. Both We Get High and V&K gave me around the same quote for a total roof replacement (around 8k, not including plywood prices) and Summit quoted me an eye watering 24k (including materials). I went with V&K for several reasons: - The two workers who arrived were knowledgeable about the roof, patiently looked at the areas I was most worried about, and called the office immediately to discuss their findings - I really enjoyed how attentive and quick the quote process was; Karol was great to work with - I was treated with respect as a female homeowner and nobody asked to speak to my husband (which is often times a problem) The results: From both a house inspection and other contractors, I knew that the roof I have was potentially not done by pros, and there were more problems than expected: - All the facia had to be replaced because of rotting and water ingress - The infrastructure underneath the plywood was shoddy/nonexistent and V&K added extensive plywood support underneath - They also did all the vents and flashing and the ... metal cover things underneath the eaves - The plywood costs were already going to cost around 4.5k but the additional facia costs were an unexpected addition. The total came to about 14k. I have a huge, flat-ish roof, and the price compared to other homeowners and people I spoke to, sounded about right. That said, Karol's team also replaced all my gutters with the facia and were incredibly considerate about all the other things I didn't even think to worry about, and I felt like they threw in a lot of things that were not explicitly charged (2x4 plywood for infrastructure etc) - You can hear each shingle nailed in with precisely 6 nails each - Karol supervised all the work carefully - They swept all the work area with magnets to make sure I wouldn't step on a rusty nail or pop a tire on them, I really appreciated the careful cleanup - Everyone was incredibly hard working and efficient, there were no long lulls or breaks for days so I didn't have to worry about the weather - The team documented all the roofwork in pictures so I can see what was done, when I get a chance I'll clean them of EXIF data and post it I'm very pleased with the job with the team and will be recommending them to all my neighbors. Also, as a security person I want to mention some older reviews where it looks like there were a few victims to impersonation scams--if you read my other reviews this has been happening to lots of legitimate businesses in the area, including two restaurants that I frequent. A few tips: - Always meet with contractors in person at least once - Have a signed contract and negotiate the work in detail - Check that the phone number you use for Zelle matches the yelp profile - Ask for proof of insurance--again, match the company you're working with, with the proof of insurance - Zelle payments will hold the funds for 3 business days, so pay the deposit immediately before workers arrive (and rescind payment if they delay--you can always pay them again later) - Be mindful of your monthly maximum for the Zelle payment (it's a rolling max so in the worst case scenario you wouldn't be able to finish paying for your whole roof replacement unless you use a second account, or a check) Is this fool proof? No, there will always be very smart conmen but I can attest that this is a legitimate business and they did legitimate (good quality) work for me.

I have been battling two leaks, one on each side of the house where we added an addition in 2006. Jose, the owner at Restoration Roofing, was able to squeeze me in and visited me the same day I requested the estimate on Yelp while the others responded and came in a day or two. Jose arrived early for our appointment and flew a drone over the house, the other roofers relied on a company that specializes in providing sqft and other data to roofers. Jose was the only one who really impressed me and presented me with a beautifully written, thorough, bulleted estimate describing all materials to be used per my preferences (e.g., Certainteed Landmark Pro shingles) before even leaving. Jose was friendly, professional and obviously knew residential roofing based on our half an hour or so together. The other roofers all got back with estimates in a day or two, which was fine - but Jose's estimate was the best-written, clear and concise but thorough, on a one-page form. Jose did not pressure me while I was waiting on the other roofers' estimates at all, when he left he just shook my hand and asked me to contact him if I had any other questions, in a warm and genuine way. The overall sense I had, combining all the Yelp reviews and my own interaction with Jose was that he is a genuine, friendly roofing expert. When the other estimates came in, I was happy to see Restoration Roofing's was among the lowest two for a lot of reasons. One reason was the pages and pages of stellar Yelp reviews from Yelpers who had solid Yelping history. Another was his communication and person skills. In addition, Jose's company is Certainteed Master Certified and Certainteed shingles, from my research, are great value and quality. In addition to a new roof and identification of the source of the leaks and repair/prevention and the upgraded shingles, I asked for new oversized gutters and downspouts, and pvc facia. When roofing day arrived, Santos, Josh and a crew seven others were right on time and were friendly and hard-working! I watched off and on as they did herculean work to remove the old roof, including replacing some of the rotted wood in need of replacement (see pic of one leak and damaged wood). They did a fine job, paying attention to detail and photographing their progress from their lofty perch, and at the job's completion Jose provided me with a link to over a hundred photos documenting the progress. I watched as the flashing, nailing, boot replacement... everything went flawlessly. And they did a great job cleaning up and did a couple extra things no charge, like resecuring soffit. I was confident when I selected Restoration Roofing over the other highly-rated roofers. A week and a half later, my roof is beautiful! All in all from appointment to estimate, to roofing, to gutters, to the photos and the price of the estimate holding true, it was a stellar experience and I can't thank them all enough for being so great at what each excels at. He quickly assessed that it was done by squirrel(s) near the end of a soffit. Soon, a steel mesh was cut and fitted around the narrow gap to prevent any future attacks. He further covered a similar spot on the back site, so that there'll be no worries for me in this regard. Last year, I had a roof vent (not knowing which one) with water dripping down to the basement. After water tests, he figured out the right vent and placed an elbow on it...vent closed and problem solved. I've known Minh for more than 10 years now, and he had helped me in numerous occasions. I called Beyond Exteriors right when they opened and they were at my house by 1 PM the same day to do urgent and temporary repairs including temporary supports and tarping. We had a huge rainstorm right afterwards and the interior of our structure stayed dry. they also worked very hard, were honest, thorough and charged a very fair and reasonable price.
