They came on time and did a great job cleaning my gutters. They were very quick. Also we're flexible with their quotes. They took Zelle and were friendly, also were kind enough to do some leaf blowing without any charge and cleared my yard. read more

Review for V&K Builders -- Woodbridge, VA Let me just say this: Karol knows her stuff. My husband said it best--"She knows exactly what she's doing, and she's smart." That may sound like a basic statement, but for those of us who've been on the other side of contractor conversations as women, it's not. I can't tell you how many times I've been talked down to, dismissed, or quoted some ridiculous price like I wouldn't know the difference. And let's be real--there are plenty of men who don't know a thing about renovation either, but they're never treated that way. I've been looking for over a year for reliable contractors. I had plans to extend my home, add a garage, and get the roof done. The quotes I got? Wild. One guy told me it would cost a minimum of $300,000 to extend my house 450 sq. ft.--just 10 feet out. Another quoted $100,000 just to build a basic garage. I was bouncing between disrespect and overcharging, and it was exhausting. So I said, let me start small and realistic. The roof. It was in bad shape--I'll post the before photos so you can see for yourself. One contractor said, "Just patch it for $2,500." Nope. Another said, "$15,000 for a new roof," but didn't lead with materials, or warranty to justify the cost. Just focused on the cost. Others did not want to provide licenses or insurance. So then I decided to search in Spanish on Facebook Marketplace, and Karol from V&K Builders responded fast. Her quote was fair and clear. She sent over the contract, I reviewed it and made a few changes to protect myself, and she didn't flinch--she was totally open and professional. She showed me her licensing and insurance and got started right away. Her crew of four men finished the roof in just one day. They even discovered a section I hadn't accounted for, and still stayed on budget. Total cost? Under $9,000. And not just that--30-year warranty on the shingles, 15-year warranty on her labor. Karol walked me through the whole process. She sent photos, explained every step, and made sure I was informed along the way. Her crew was respectful and professional. I watched them comb through my yard with magnets to pick up nails--that level of detail matters. She doesn't just throw a number at you. Karol breaks it down--low end to high end--so you understand the materials, what each option comes with, and what'll actually work best for your needs. My roof needed to hold up against rain, snow, moss, and all the shade from trees. She factored that in. She also told me about the times she's shown up to job sites and been told to leave just because she's a woman. Can you imagine? She's more qualified than half the contractors I've dealt with--and still gets that treatment. It's disgusting. But she doesn't let it stop her. She gets the job done--and done well. Bottom line: If you want someone who will listen to you, respect your time, and do quality work without trying to hustle you, call Karol at V&K Builders. Don't get caught up in thinking a higher price means better service--it doesn't. And if you just like throwing money away, cool--keep shopping around. But if you're like me and want to get real work done by someone who values what she does and backs it up with results, she's your go-to. After being burned before, Karol reminded me there are good contractors out there. She's not just good--she's rare read more

A piece of siding came off of my house and I needed it reinstalled. It was a fairly small job and the quotes I got from other companies felt dishonest. V&K came out the next day and did the work at a fair price. The two men were very polite and also showed me some photos of my gutters that were in desperate need of cleaning. They also gave me a good price on this work since they were already here. Will definitely do business with them again. Thank you! read more

Karol and her team went above and beyond for the front of my home. The craftsmanship and quality gives a stamp of approval. Thank you Karol and to your team. I recommend them to anyone. read more

Hired V&K to replace some rotten wood siding, repair other areas and paint the exterior. Karol's team did a great job! They have good attention to detail and the price was very fair. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again in the future. read more

Small family owned/run business who completed my siding repair with the highest standard of quality. Was able to perform the repair in less then a few days while other companies were booked out several weeks. Quote was provided and was much less then other companies but the quality of work was much better (in my humble opinion). Already working with V&K to address other issues discovered during the repair. Go with V&K, you won't be disappointed with the results or the price. read more

We had a visible hole in the soffit (?) where a squirrel had chewed through and started to make a nest. Carol and her team was fast to respond and very detailed in their explanation of what they found and fixed. They found an additional hole so they also patched that up. I really appreciated the before and after photos since I can't go up on the roof myself. Overall, I am extremely satisfied and will not hesitate to reach out to V&K Builders again :) read more

Selection: I got 3 roof quotes for some suspected moisture invasion and roof issues discovered by another contractor. Both We Get High and V&K gave me around the same quote for a total roof replacement (around 8k, not including plywood prices) and Summit quoted me an eye watering 24k (including materials). I went with V&K for several reasons: - The two workers who arrived were knowledgeable about the roof, patiently looked at the areas I was most worried about, and called the office immediately to discuss their findings - I really enjoyed how attentive and quick the quote process was; Karol was great to work with - I was treated with respect as a female homeowner and nobody asked to speak to my husband (which is often times a problem) The results: From both a house inspection and other contractors, I knew that the roof I have was potentially not done by pros, and there were more problems than expected: - All the facia had to be replaced because of rotting and water ingress - The infrastructure underneath the plywood was shoddy/nonexistent and V&K added extensive plywood support underneath - They also did all the vents and flashing and the ... metal cover things underneath the eaves - The plywood costs were already going to cost around 4.5k but the additional facia costs were an unexpected addition. The total came to about 14k. I have a huge, flat-ish roof, and the price compared to other homeowners and people I spoke to, sounded about right. That said, Karol's team also replaced all my gutters with the facia and were incredibly considerate about all the other things I didn't even think to worry about, and I felt like they threw in a lot of things that were not explicitly charged (2x4 plywood for infrastructure etc) - You can hear each shingle nailed in with precisely 6 nails each - Karol supervised all the work carefully - They swept all the work area with magnets to make sure I wouldn't step on a rusty nail or pop a tire on them, I really appreciated the careful cleanup - Everyone was incredibly hard working and efficient, there were no long lulls or breaks for days so I didn't have to worry about the weather - The team documented all the roofwork in pictures so I can see what was done, when I get a chance I'll clean them of EXIF data and post it I'm very pleased with the job with the team and will be recommending them to all my neighbors. Also, as a security person I want to mention some older reviews where it looks like there were a few victims to impersonation scams--if you read my other reviews this has been happening to lots of legitimate businesses in the area, including two restaurants that I frequent. A few tips: - Always meet with contractors in person at least once - Have a signed contract and negotiate the work in detail - Check that the phone number you use for Zelle matches the yelp profile - Ask for proof of insurance--again, match the company you're working with, with the proof of insurance - Zelle payments will hold the funds for 3 business days, so pay the deposit immediately before workers arrive (and rescind payment if they delay--you can always pay them again later) - Be mindful of your monthly maximum for the Zelle payment (it's a rolling max so in the worst case scenario you wouldn't be able to finish paying for your whole roof replacement unless you use a second account, or a check) Is this fool proof? No, there will always be very smart conmen but I can attest that this is a legitimate business and they did legitimate (good quality) work for me. read more

Beware of V & K Builders. We hired them on several occasions for different projects: gutter cleaning, minor roof repairs, etc. We were really happy with the workmanship & communication up until recently. The most recent repair of our roof came with a one year warranty from V & K Builders. In April, we found that it needed further attention & I contacted Karol to address it. I had to call a few times, & she mentioned how busy they were, & that Victor would come out as soon as possible. He never did. I continued to call & text over the next month or so, but Karol stopped responding to me. My husband tried reaching out recently as well, & also got the run around. It's now July & this issue was brought up in April. I'm so disappointed, as we trusted Karol & Victor. We hired them numerous times. I even shared their contact info with friends who needed gutter cleaning! My last resort is to post this review, in hopes they might reach out to us & make this right. Karol or Victor, if you're reading this, I hope you will contact us. Consider all of your options before hiring this company. read more

V&K replaced aluminum siding lost during a storm. They were very responsive and quickly provided quality service.

Karol came out with her workers, and provided some good advice on how to repair and replace my torn fascia, but to keep it from blowing away during the next wind storm. Please don't be fooled by Karol Rodriguez & V&K Builders! Karol R posted that there is another V&K Builders and they haven't stolen money from anyone - THIS IS A LIE. V&K Builders & Contractors IS V&K Builders. It's the same company with Karol listed as the registered agent for both. - Here is the proof V&K owe us money. This is public record! - Here is the proof this company was contacted via Yelp for their services. - Here is the proof that Karol is the registered agent for both companies. - Here is the proof that the Virginia Department of Professional Regulations issued an Unlicensed Activity Letter to Karol but the company is still doing work on YOUR properties. V&K Builders refused to answer the summons for today's (February 3rd, 2025) court case in Prince Willian County. Whatever you do - please don't use this company! They will take your money, stop showing up to complete the work, and then lie about not stealing. We don't want ANYONE else to experience what we have experienced. We just want our money back. We have the legal backing of the court showing it is owed to us. Whatever you do - Don't let this happen to you! read more

When we noticed a leak in the ceiling of our family room, we reached out to several roofers for estimates. V&K Builders were the only ones to offer multiple options for fixing the issue, instead of telling us we needed to replace the whole roof, like the other companies did. On top of that, their full replacement estimate was MUCH more reasonable than the others as well. We decided to go with the partial repair to start. They were able to find the matching shingles and repair the affected portion of the roof, which included some support beams and plywood, within a day of making the decision. They worked incredibly hard to complete the job even though it started to rain while they were nearing completion. The affected area looks remarkably better now, and the best part: no more internal leaks! I would highly recommend V&K for all your roofing needs! read more

V&K Builders stole $4200 from us and have failed to show up to court for over a year or respond to our correspondence. We won a judgement in the Prince William County General District Court (case #GV23004323-05). Through our research in preparing for this court case, the Virginia Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation also found that they are an unlicensed contractor and sent them a cease-and-desist letter due to unlicensed contracting. Additionally, they have several other pending judgements against them over the years. In our situation, V&K Builders failed to show up to our property for work multiple days in a row. After failing to meet the terms of the contract, Karol stopped responding to us and stole our money. We never had any work completed nor were any materials given to us. We filed in court, won the judgement, and have a court date on February 3rd 2025 for them to pay. We want to warn others about doing business with these people so that another family is not scammed out of money or worse...harmed by dangerous and unlicensed construction. read more

I discovered this great company by using Yelp's broadcasting service. Four companies were contacted via Yelp messaging. One company did not reply until the fourth day, one replied the next day, and that last two contacted me right away (V & K being one of those two). V & K outbid the second company by a significant amount of money. Although V & K's services were the cheapest out of the four, their services were more extensive than the other companies and their performance in completing those services was anything but cheap. This company is more than just building and contracting. For instance, in my situation I needed the gutters cleaned (God only knows when they were last cleaned), my small yard yearned for landscaping, and the siding of our house needed to show its true color of blue again instead of algae-green. They did all this with speed and professionalism. The best part is that I paid the price that we originally agreed upon. They neither tried to inflate the price nor add on services once they began. Here are a few highlights that I believe deserve special attention. - They are quick to respond and communicate. - Their workers are professional and courteous. - They provide an estimate up front and stick to it. - Speedy yet thorough service. - They even inspected our roof and provided us an estimate for free. - They had to reschedule due to weather, which was prompt and timely. Give these guys a shot. I know that you'll love the work they do and how well they do it. I literally cannot say enough good things about this company. read more

We had them do our roof a while back and after raving about their fair prices and timely installation I realized I never wrote them a review. V and K were awesome. They did our roof in January of this year and were really thorough and inexpensive. We were dreading the expense but after a couple of leaks bit the bullet and got a new roof. The original wood underneath the shingles were very rotted in places and v and k took pictures and sent it to us. They were fast and efficient and reasonably priced. Highly recommend. Update! We loved our roof job so much that we had them come to my moms house in Charlottesville . We had water damage and I was nervous to text to ask if they could redo the roof because its so far (2.5 hours) but they said yes! I was so excited because I trust them and they came out before the local cville people even gave me a quote. I texted Saturday and had a new roof by Thursday! They are so thorough with cleaning up everything and worked until they finished that same day. If anyone ever mentions a roof leak/problem I will insist they hire v & k!! read more

V & K Builders provided fast service and quality workmanship. Their service also offers great value. Thanks!

We came back from Thanksgiving to a roof leak. Victor came out and assessed the situation the next day. He took lots of pictures to show where we had problem spots. He has done patching work for us in the past but confirmed that it was in fact time to replace the roof. He came and put a tarp over the problem areas over the weekend while we got a rain storm and was able to come that next week to replace the roof. He and his team were fast, efficient and did great work! Also, the price was good compared to others. I have recommended them multiple times and will continue to do so. They don't just do roofs, they put up gutter guards for us as well. Give them a call for your next project read more
