We have hired SR to do many things in our house - flooring, bathroom remodeling, garage dry wall repairs, etc . Their initial quote is always competitive, however, as the work makes progress, you will find many things that were not included in the original estimate. Therefore, if you're not knowledgeable enough, your final quote might end up being much higher than the initial estimate. For example: we paid almost 10K+ to remodel one room and they left one wall unfinished because they said it was not included (we thought it was). So make sure you have all the nitty gritty details written down in your estimate to avoid confusion later. Also, their work hasn't stood the test of time. We noticed many things have started to fall apart not too long after the work was completed - example : our LVP is peeling off in low traffic areas, leakage under the shower door and under sink, multiple door hinges have already broken, the floor has uneven spots despite paying extra to flatten it, etc. The work looks nice in the beginning but after a while you'll start noticing where they made compromises to make it "affordable". In terms of communication, they are pretty responsive. We haven't had major issues with Alexa, Sam, Camilo, Dan other than occasional misalignment between everyone. read more

While awaiting closing on our new house we worked with Melissa and the team at SR to determine that the changes we wanted to make (close up an open living room with French doors to create a study and take down a pony wall separating the kitchen and family rooms) were possible and they could meet us at the house right after closing to give us a proper estimate. They committed to starting the project right away so that the work would be done before we moved in several days later. As promised, once closing day came an estimator for SR was at the house within an hour of me receiving the keys and was able to take specific measurements and pictures. A couple of hours later we had a detailed quote and agreed to move forward. They said they would be there 7am the next morning. Little did I know they would show up with a small Army to make good on their promise to have the work done before we moved in. The team moved quickly and efficiently. I exchanged numbers with the foreman so that they could easily text any questions. The team was very professional - worked diligently and most importantly they took the time to explain what they were doing and gave me options and recommendations for solutions to challenges that arose. The team consisted of many specialized skills that were brought in when needed. They did an excellent job coordinating who was needed when and made sure no time was wasted. Trim specialists were brought in to tie into the existing trim in the former living room and a hardwood flooring specialist was brought in to tie into the existing floors for where the pony wall once stood. It seemed like everyone on the team enjoyed working there and with each other and they all had direct access to the owner Sam to keep him up to speed and make sure I was happy with the work. I appreciated being able to check in with Sam a couple of times and he went out of his way to make sure I was happy with the solutions his team came up with. At the end of the day the team worked long days to create a much more usable house for us and meet their promise of finishing their work by the time we moved in. Their work has transformed the house for us and had made it so much more usable. As we settle in (and save up some more $$) we can't wait to have Sam and his team at SR transform other parts of the house for us!! read more

We got 3 estimates from well-rated contractors for a full master bathroom renovation and went with SR. We got the impression we'd get the best service from them, and we chose well! Their customer service is terrific: there was great ongoing communication, quick attention to any questions or concerns we had during the process, and they worked at our project diligently and daily (weekdays) until it was completed (There were NONE of the horror stories you hear about contractors no longer showing up or getting too busy with other projects to pay attention to yours). They were also "5 star" responsive. Our project "foreman," Camilo, was terrific. Sam the owner is great and guarantees all of SR's work; but beyond that, his goal really is satisfied customers, and that is a HUGE plus with a contractor. We've been doing home renovations long enough to know that EVERY major project will have some glitches; What matters is how those glitches are handled. SR was excellent on this front, responding super fast and quickly resolving any glitch that occurred! I have never had such good customer service and ongoing communication with a contractor, and at a reasonable price! Kesenia was dedicated throughout the project to attentive regular communication with me via text and email, even though they had multiple jobs going on. She should get a medal! I am detail-oriented and do my "homework," and SR always warmly welcomed any input and concerns I had along the way, and made sure I was happy with results. I hired SR to remodel our basement. They installed laminate vinyl flooring, painted, installed ceiling fans, and updated our recessed lighting. SR was professional, responsive, and time-efficient. They completed the entire project in a week! They did an amazing job with the recessed lighting, flooring, and ceiling fans. Their painting was not at the same level of quality. I asked them to touch up the painting a couple of times, and I'm still not completely satisfied. I think certain painters are more skilled and precise than other ones working for the company. I did really appreciate them taking on other little jobs like putting together furniture. I might have hired this company for the wrong job. But I know for sure I would advise against hiring them for any bathroom or tiling job. Firstly, just a few months into the repair I had a minor leak in the bathroom where water very quickly leaked all the way to the ceiling below. What kind of caulking job should I expect from a licensed contractor? Definitely better than that. During the job there were a lot of misunderstandings, some that were partly due to my lack of availability, but it explains a lot when you are not able to rely on the contractor. The project manager showed up on site probably 2 times all in all, and the workers spoke little to no English. It was very difficult to deal with the team as a whole and the PM, Sam, himself had a terrible petty attitude that made everything all the more challenging. Today the caulking is so obviously poorly done, and the newly installed shower faucet diverter does not work properly; it's loose and there's always some water gushing out of the faucet even when the shower head is supposed to be running. Needless to mention the incredible mess they left behind, they did not clean up or even bother. They ruined my bathtub during tiling because they did not bother to cover it up and then Sam had the nerve to offer $150 in return of these damages to have it replaced. In what world does it cost $150 to replace a bathtub? Would they have replaced it for this much? I'm truly devastated by this job as it cost me so much money and heartache. The amount I paid would have been perfect had this company been reliable, professional, and honest. But they are not that at all.
