We had an excellent experience with Phoenix Home Services from start to finish. When we first contacted them, we weren't exactly sure what we wanted for our new back patio. Steve arranged for some onsite, completed project visits and after giving him a few general ideas, some parameters, and our budget, Steve and his design team worked with us to create a beautiful patio that exceeded our expectations. The installation crew was professional, hardworking, and top-notch. Everything was completed perfectly, on time, and within budget. Steve communicated with us throughout the entire process and made sure we always knew what to expect. We couldn't be happier with the finished patio and would highly recommend Phoenix Home Services to anyone looking for quality work, excellent communication, and a great overall experience. I had Pheonix Home services do some electrical modernization and couldn't be more happy with the results. Pheonix was prompt with scheduling and delivered exactly what I expected. Pheonix stands out from others in their ability to handle projects end-to-end. They handled planning, procurement of materials, electrical work and drywall and painting all for the same job! read more

We worked with Phoenix Home Services on a major full-home renovation, and overall we're very pleased with both the process and the final result. The project included reinforcing and replacing all flooring, knocking out walls to open up the layout, a full kitchen gut and remodel, an electrical panel upgrade, recessed lighting throughout the home, and finishing previously unfinished basement rooms. This was a large, complex renovation involving structural, electrical, and finish work, and the team demonstrated strong construction knowledge and solid workmanship throughout. The flooring reinforcement and electrical upgrades were handled properly, and the finished spaces feel cohesive, functional, and well executed. Phoenix Home Services remained professional and responsive throughout the project, working through challenges as they came up and keeping things moving forward. We appreciate the effort and care that went into the renovation and would recommend them to homeowners looking for a contractor capable of handling large-scale remodeling projects. read more

What we had hoped was going to be a concrete slab repair and carpet install turned into a total basement remodel (HVAC ducts in the slab abandoned, asbestos remediation, new HVAC duct work installed, framing/carpentry, drywall repair and finishing). We contacted Phoenix Home Services to take over this ever increasing endeavor. They managed the entire project, on budget and on time, and kept us updated throughout. When an issue arose...unexpected plumbing and electrical relocation...they brought it to our attention and were quick to determine the options, adjust their crew and keep moving forward. Their entire team was friendly, professional showed up at scheduled times and adjusted to accommodate our needs. At one point they were ahead of schedule, so we added re-screening our porch. Thank you Phoenix, Steve and the whole team for stepping in and stepping up to take this on. We could not be more pleased with the entire experience and quality in the final product. read more

We are so pleased we used Phoenix to redo our deck! From the initial consult, we felt so comfortable we were working with a competent and hardworking team. Clint's design was stellar and he was very easy to work with to get exactly what we were looking for. No pushy sales pitch- just the work speaking for itself. They were wonderful helping us navigate the whole process and communicating with us each step of the way. The team doing the build were timely, respectful and efficient. We were so impressed. We couldn't be happier and are already counting on our next project with Phoenix! read more

Phoenix Home Services completed a full renovation of our kitchen and two bathrooms, including updated finishes, fixtures, and layouts. They also installed recessed lighting and made several additional improvements throughout the house that helped modernize the space overall. The work touched multiple areas of the home and resulted in a clean, cohesive update that significantly improved both the look and functionality of our living space. read more

I paid an $18,000 deposit to Phoenix Home Services for a kitchen renovation. That entire deposit was kept despite no construction work occurring. The only work performed consisted of two site visits and a permit submission. From the outset, I provided clear requirements, a layout, and a firm budget. I was repeatedly pressured to sign the contract with assurances that the project would be adjusted to stay within that budget. After signing, I immediately identified that key requirements discussed during the initial visit were missing, and several allowances were inaccurate and would not have met the agreed budget. When I raised these issues, Clint was unwilling to revise the scope or allowances to reflect what was discussed. At the time of cancellation: No materials were ordered No design meeting occurred No pre-construction meeting occurred No work was performed beyond visits and a permit submission Despite canceling at a very early stage and requesting a reasonable partial refund to cover actual costs incurred, the owner, Steve Bowes, refused to return any portion of the deposit, citing contract language rather than the actual work performed. Additionally, the tone of follow-up correspondence after cancellation was unprofessional and unnecessarily confrontational, which further confirmed that ending the relationship was the right decision. Keeping an $18,000 deposit under these circumstances is unreasonable and not reflective of fair or customer-focused business practices. I would caution anyone considering this company to fully understand the financial risk involved if issues arise early in the process. read more

Excellent communication and quality of work. great professionals that were easy to work with!

I now have the most amazing screened in porch and patio that I could only vaguely describe before meeting with Clint from Phoenix Home Services. Clint took my ideas and turned it into a beautiful and complete design. The team took care of everything from demolition, permitting, and providing an experienced non-contracted team doing all the work. The team were professional and there was routine communication and were very responsive when I had questions. The Phoenix team has amazing attention to detail and ensured that all the final touches I added matched and were rated correctly. There were excellent suggestions that were raised during the build that I incorporated and I am so glad that I did! It really did make a difference in the final project. As with most major renovations, there were unexpected items encountered that needed to be addressed outside the base product. I received prompt and clear quotes for this additional work with options and recommendations. Several electrical items were not to code and needed to be reworked for the safety of my house. I feel much safer knowing this work was done by this team. Reach out to Clint and the team at Phoenix Home Services for your next project. You will not be disappointed. read more

Phoenix Home Services demo'd and replaced the screen porch on the back of our house. "Replaced" is inaccurate because the porch they built is vastly improved in design, appearance, work quality, amenities, space, and usefulness. The interior ceiling is beautiful and has so many recessed lights. The screens are larger and we got a screen door our dogs cannot push through. Most importantly, the team there worked with us to identify the options we wanted, gave us a schedule, and completed the work on time and it is beautiful. Even though we had the first snow storm in a decade during construction! And the team was polite and respectful at all times while in our home. Their quote was in the range of others but the quality of this finished porch definitely outshines the others. They took great pride in their work and they should. We are very happy we went with Phoenix and cannot say enough to thank Clint, Kevin, and all the others who gave us this new space! read more

The Phoenix team designed and fabricated an enlarged portico for our home that increased weather protection, was easier & safer to climb and enhanced the curb appeal of the house. Clint, Steve and team were able to make a 12 year sunroom idea become reality. This is the second time we've used Phoenix for a home project and we continue to be blown away by: a) their pre-work designs b) their responsiveness c) clear and thorough communication of timeline and expectations d) quality of workmanship e) quality of crews - they are polite, inobtrusive, respectful of your space and clean up everything. We are three projects in with Phoenix and will do more when the budget allows. Cannot say enough great things about their vision and design for our extra large deck and enclosed patio directly below it. We took 'go big or go home to heart.' Had not planned on the enclosed patio below but when Clint sent us the mock-up designs we were all in. When I say all in, we did the Trex Signature cable rails with accent lights, straight walkout from upstairs (required a creative roof change), Trex Rain Escape, and custom Eze Breeze windows for the patio. Post completion we went back and asked for a flooring add, exterior walkway add and two more projects are pending our budget. Phoenix delivered as promised, showed up when promised, and stood behind their word. We always knew where we were with the timeline and someone either answered the phone or called us back whenever we reached out. The entire team works great together and their communication skills met every expectation we had. We really could not have asked for better. Highly recommend. read more

I can't say enough abut the quality of work, the positive attitude, the clear communication, constant updates and professionalism of Phoenix Home Services. I've never experienced customer service from the owners of the company down to every member of the team like this before. This crew went SO above and beyond on my project from dealing with county stipulations to bad weather etc. Every challenge they had they came up with a great solution to resolve. I am trying to brainstorm more projects for them to work on! The finished product of my rooftop terrace with pizza oven, grill, griddle, fireplace, sound system, outdoor kitchen and seating area is so spectacular that it's exceeded my wildest dreams of how it would turn out. Phoenix Home Services built our new outdoor covered deck this past fall. What a beautiful addition to our home. We asked for the same footprint as the old deck but added lots of features like pine planks on the ceiling, ceiling fan, pot lights, screens, mulitiple electric outlets and a plant area extension on the sunny side of the porch. It is now our favorite hang out spot in the house. Thanks Phoenix Home Services for a job well done. We highly recommend! read more

Phoenix did a great job with our project! We had our old front patio demolished (it was sinking and pulling away from the house), we had a new slate and stone patio built with a portico. Clint came out to discuss our design options and gave us multiple options to consider based on our budget. We had a few other contractors out as well, by Clint's beautiful design just stuck with us and no one else's was even coming close. Phoenix's billing structure is something that I like a lot. You pay in portions after certain milestones of the project are completed. Which is great because it just adds another layer of accountability and reassurance. Our on-site project manager for the duration of the construction was Brian, and he was fantastic! Any time we had an issue or a question it would be answered/handled. Brian kept us up to date on any schedule changes and was easy to work with when issues came up. We are SO happy with the finished project. All the way from design to project completion- we had a great experience with Phoenix! read more

We hired PHS for a new deck project. From the initial sales meeting to final inspection/closeout, PHS did an amazing job. Clint was friendly, informative and a pleasure to work with. He clearly communicated timelines, costs, etc. During the project, he stopped by regularly to ensure the work was on track and to our liking. When we had permit delays, he was on top of everything, constantly keeping us informed. Les and his build team worked quickly and with the utmost detail. Their collective years of experience is reflected in the quality of craftsmanship. The deck turned out better than we could have imagined. From the three competing bids we received for this project, PHS was not the cheapest, but as they say - you get what you pay for. Phoenix Home Services are the best deck builders I have ever worked with to date. The professionalism and attention to detail far exceeds my expectations. Our deck looked exactly like the 3D diagram we were shown before construction. Our old deck was completely removed as it was very old. I'm glad we didn't try to only fix just parts of the old deck. It was better to completely replace the deck which will last longer the house. We are so pleased to have chosen Phoenix Home Services. read more

We have used Phoenix Home Services for several projects on our house. The first was adding on a portico on the front door as well as a new porch, steps and walkway. The team was exceptionally professional and respectful of our property. They provided detailed images of the work to be done which we were very impressed with. The finished project even exceeded those images. We are absolutely thrilled with the work and neighbors all tell us it's the nicest one they have ever seen. Because of how happy we are with that project, we hired Phoenix again to replace our old deck with a new one with a screened porch. Once again the images provided exceeded our expectations and the finished project even better! It truly is an extension of our house and we couldn't be happier with project. The design fits to our house beautifully and looks like it was meant to be vs an add on. Highly recommend Phoenix and we would definitely use them again -- which we did to also replace our asphalt driveway with a beautiful and smooth concrete driveway. read more

There's a reason that so many reviewers consistently praise Phoenix Home Services with words like Professional, Reliable, Trustworthy, Responsive, Quality, Attention to Detail, Creative Designs and Great Communications. It always feels like a leap of faith to sign your name on a contract involving a lot of money. I have friends who have had less than desirable outcomes with other companies, but I can assure you that you will be pleased if you sign on with Phoenix. Phoenix will treat you almost like you are family - from the very start, you can see that they are just as interested in having a positive experience and great project as you are. You will find that Phoenix will stand by their customers from beginning to end. It's no wonder that they have an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureaus (BBB), with no complaints! Clint will help you see your vision in an even better way than you can imagine - his designs are creative, clean-looking and beautiful - your project will come to life exactly as the plan schematics are drawn up. His expertise and ideas will help you come up with the perfect project within your budget (and Phoenix keeps to their budget, which gives great peace of mind). The proposal I received with the scope of work and materials was very detailed and was superior to all the other estimates I received. Because of the specificity and clarity of the proposal, it was easy to make the decision to go with Phoenix. Clint stays in constant communication with you as the plans are put into reality and is very reassuring as you go through the permitting process. He is always available to answer any questions or concerns you may have. Clint loves his job and exudes enthusiasm for creating a project that you will love, which makes you look forward to the finished product even more than you originally imagined. Once the project is underway, Steve keeps you closely informed of the schedule and all facets of the construction. I can't say enough about the responsive communication I had throughout all phases of the project. Steve is extremely helpful in helping you make choices for materials and colors/finishes. Having Steve overseeing the project gave me great confidence that the outcome would be exactly what I expected. He is very pleasant to work with and he makes sure that there is great attention to detail and craftsmanship in the work that is being done. You can tell that the Phoenix team is just as invested as you are in the quality and end results of their work. Steve was on top of any issues that came up and was quick to respond to any concerns or questions I had while the work was being done. Clean-up was excellent. Phoenix did fantastic work on our renovation at our home in Reston. We had a screened in porch built at our house. From the initial consultation, all the way through making sure every last detail of our project was done to our full satisfaction, we were impressed. We highly recommend Phoenix Home Services for your home upgrade project. We were most impressed with both the company's service and quality of work. Clint Asmar responded immediately and met with us to discuss and to provide a quote for the work we were contemplating: a front porch, stone walkway, and new driveway. Within a day or two Clint presented us with an elegant, computer design proposal. The design far exceeded what we had initially imagined, and we gave him the go-ahead to proceed. Once Phoenix obtained all the requisite County permits, Clint had his crews begin the project. Les and his carpentry crew quickly yet carefully built our beautiful new porch. We were particularly impressed with the crew's conscientious attention to detail. After the porch was constructed, Tomas and his crew capably and skillfully completed the masonry work. Our new porch, walkway, and driveway match the design we had fallen in love with...and we are now gratefully enjoying them. read more

We just completed a new deck plus covered porch project with Phoenix. It looks great! At the start, we got some wonderful computer generated graphics of the finished product. That helped a lot. The teams they had onsite were great. Friendly. Professional. We had an issue with Fairfax County, but Phoenix kept at it until this was resolved. It involved a minor adjustment on the build of our steps and Brian was most helpful with that. We got frequent emails throughout letting us know what was scheduled at any given time. Communications with the company were good. I plan on having them do a bathroom next! read more

From start to finish our experience with Phoenix exceeded our expectations. Phoenix made the process as painless as a major project possibly can be. Phoenix worked with us at the start to come up with a thoughtful and beautiful deck design that would fit within our budget. Unlike many contractors, they were patient while we considered and debated different alternatives and never pressured us to sign. The level of communication from Phoenix was outstanding. Once we did sign, Phoenix regularly communicated with us about the status of permits and scheduling, so we were never left in the dark about when the project would begin. When construction began Phoenix sent regular updates on what to expect each week. The construction was done to the highest standards. Our deck is not only beautiful, but also extremely well-built, which gives us the peace of mind that we'll be able to enjoy this major investment for many years. read more

Phoenix no show-ed twice for a quote. Their contractor called me back the next morning the first time he no showed, gave me a sob story about being sick, and PROMISED he'd make the rescheduled appointment. Then he no showed again. They were always responsive to our questions and handled a few surprises along the way. If my wife and I can agree on one thing, it is that we are both very particular when it comes to our house. When we decided it was time to remodel our 18-year-old master bath, we knew we were treading into deep water with the anticipated cost of the project. So to make sure we chose our contractor wisely, we went overboard and interviewed and received quotes from 12 different companies. Some specialized in just bath and kitchen remodels, while others were experienced in whole house renovations and additions. In the end, we both agreed that Phoenix Home Services was at the top of our list. One of the things we really liked about Phoenix is they allowed us to select and purchase all our fixtures and materials. That meant we could shop around with anyone to get exactly what we wanted and often pay considerably less. That also allowed us to stay within our budget, yet get higher-quality materials. I will say that it is very difficult to compare quotes from different contractors, as most want you to buy certain things through them (e.g., faucets, tubs)...they give you an allowance, but you aren't really sure what the quality is until you start shopping around. Plus there seems to be a lot of vague indications as to what your allowances are for things other than the major stuff (So how much are you going to charge me for that new exhaust fan? Toilet? Heated floor?). That is one of the first things that really attracted us to Phoenix. The next was the customer service. We contacted Phoenix and Clint responded within 30 minutes to set up an in-home visit. He was able to come at 8 AM on a Saturday...perfect for us! Clint's a very friendly guy, but he also was attentive and listened to our wants. He asked questions about things we hadn't considered (even though he was the 6th company to come to our house at that point), and gave us some suggestions and ideas to consider. Within 48 hours, he emailed us professional renderings of what our new bathroom would look like. I'll note that some of the others provided renderings, but Clint's were by far the most professional ones we received. Another thing to note from our comparison of so many different contractors was the inconsistent information we received about the need for county building permits and inspections from one contractor to the next. Some said we didn't need them...others said we did...and still others said it was optional. Many wanted to add a surcharge for permits and inspections. Phoenix told us flat out they always get the permits and inspections...period. The cost was included in their overall work cost, so no add-ons. Once our decision to go with Phoenix was finalized, we began the process of purchasing our fixtures and the like. Clint even met us at the tile shop to help us with our selections. When everything arrived, the owner of Phoenix, Steve, stopped by our home to confirm that we had everything we needed. Then we set up a start date, the work began, and that's when we realized we had made the right decision. The team of Deyvies and Thomas were assigned to do the work at our home. We couldn't be happier with their professionalism and meticulous work ethic. They were so precise in everything they did. When options were available, they would ask us what we wanted. At times, we would have discussions, bounding ideas off each other as to what may look best. They made sure they knew exactly what we wanted. When someone is in your home for three plus weeks, you get to know them quite well. Deyvies and Thomas were amazing. They took such care of our home throughout the entire project. At the start, they put down protective covers on the floors from the garage door entry into our home all the way up to the third floor where the master bathroom is located. They put up a zipwall in our master bedroom, to protect it from construction dust. At the end of each work day, everything was cleaned up and put neatly away so our home didn't look like a tornado had been through it. We appreciated that. One evening, I was watching as they were driving away from our home and saw them stop the van in the middle of the street. I then saw Deyvies get out, walk into my neighbor's front yard, and retrieve some cardboard (nothing huge, just a part of a box) that had apparently blown out of the construction dumpster in front of our house and into their yard. He didn't need to do that. And he didn't know anyone was even watching. Yet he picked it up and then secured it back in the dumpster. That shows a lot of respect for my neighborhood. I doubt if the neighbors saw it, but I did, and it meant a whole lot. In summary, you never want to have regrets when you spend a lot of money. And this "very particular" couple couldn't be any happier with the communication we had with Phoenix, the meticulous, precise, and responsible work performed by everyone at Phoenix, and, most-importantly, the finished product. read more

Phoenix did a complete remodel of my seriously outdated kitchen. After months of planning, it went from really sad circa 1970's to amazing modern bright in about 6 weeks from demo to final inspection. The work crews arrived on time every day and were total professionals. Everyone was so nice and didn't mind explaining things to me and offering really helpful suggestions. Each week I got a schedule of upcoming work to be completed. I did have extra expenses over the original contract for subfloors and electric, but with a 60+ year old house, these things are to be expected. In the end I have a beautiful kitchen that is totally up to code and will last for many more years. I will definitely consider Phoenix for any future remodeling. read more

The Phoenix team was a joy to work with. From initial conversations through the design phase and continuing through contracting, communicating about supply chain challenges, and throughout construction these professional teams completed both projects simultaneously and with exemplary attention to detail. Their behind the scenes team coordinated all the vendor deliveries so that materials arrived as needed - a critical thing once the garage was full of materials. My questions were always answered promptly and courteously; everything was always explained to me in advance and clarified if needed. Phoenix handled permitting and provided a complete Package for HOA approval for the screened porch. Both projects are better than I envisioned even after seeing the architectural renderings! The teams arrived promptly each day and cleaned up the house and straightened yard materials as they left. Final cleanup even included restoring the flower area around the new screened porch, picking up nails from the backyard, cleaning the garage and washing the driveway after the dumpster was removed! Awesome team of in-house experts! read more
