I don't normally go out and put reviews unless I'm moved by an experience, service, quality, etc. In this case I just had to get it out there. HD Exteriors has been the best experience I have had with any patio/porch/deck company ever! Over the course of 3 homes, this is the fifth time doing a major exterior project. Each time I tried a different route of getting the project completed. Working with HD Exteriors has been the most rewarding and satisfying. They get an A++ for service, quality, cost, and just plain being human! I trust them whole-heartedly to do any future work on my house. In fact, I have already made plans for additional projects in my back yard and will be using them for all of them. My father is a tough critic and hard to impress. He is an excellent gauge that I use when making decisions. In this case, even he was extremely happy FROM THE BEGINNING with the work and experience! I just can't say enough great things about the company, the workers, and especially the main team I worked with for this effort: Graham Sr., Graham Jr., Tom, Edwin, Diane, Beth, and Kim. If you want a WIN-WIN situation, then I suggest you go with HD Exteriors! It began with me having ideas of what I wanted added to the back of my house. I had contacted many companies to get ideas, suggestions, and estimates. Out of all the companies that came out, HD Exteriors had the best of all worlds! Graham Jr., the owner's son, came over to look at the space, make suggestions, and give an estimate. Working with him was the most pleasant experience in customer service I have ever had. That was the beginning of me realizing HD Exteriors is what I wanted out of partnering with a business to complete a project. For this work, I went with a patio, deck and covered and screened porch. Graham Sr., the owner, was the next step in making the design a reality and crunching the final numbers. In fact, if it wasn't for him, my project would have been average in terms of detail and looks. But he made a stellar design, incorporated my wants, and still was able to bring the price point down to something that worked for me and him. In fact, he was the lowest quote I had received! His work also included a warranty that was longer than the others and he was going to make sure we are happy at the end of the project. When the work began, the crews that came out for the work also were very pleasant and easy to work with. Tom, the project manager, and Edwin, the supervisor, were great to talk to and helped in making things happen. They were on site as needed. The crews were professional and knew what they were doing. When the work was completed, I couldn't believe what I had on the back of my house! The completed patio, deck and porch turned out to be the best design in my neighborhood! My family could wait to start using the new space. Everyone was so happy. Neighbors were stopping through just tell me how wonderful the completed project looks and that they want something like that. I'm still in awe on how it turned out. It was natural and classy at the same time. It was PERFECT! I worked with Diane, Beth, and Kim throughout the whole process. They are in the HD Exteriors office and assist with the logistics, scheduling, payment, and closing out the project. It was an awesome operation as a whole. As said before, it's a WIN-WIN! I paid $44,000 for a new patio in 2019. It needs some standard R&R maintenance. I asked for quote and got one: $4900 to level a spot that has never drained properly, fix a "settling" issue, fix a couple of loose steps, level a couple areas that have heaved enough to create potential tripping hazards. The initial sales presentation was great, if only that is how the project went! Misrepresentation and lack of communication turned an exciting (and expensive) project into months of frustration. Project management was ineffective and rarely available when work was taking place. Elevated these concerns to management and after being assured that is was unusual, continued after the engagement. Most of the workers coming to the home had no idea what had been discussed or was supposed to take place. Mistakes and errors were brushed off with revisions, or changing previously installed work to accommodate for errors. Lack of planning and attention to detail. Just had the most bizarre and frankly offensive experience with this contractor, when responding to to an enticing ad on Facebook. I've been managing a major renovation at my home (we're talking $150K+)--entirely on my own since my husband works out of state and has ZERO involvement in household decisions. In fact, in the past 17-years since purchasing our home, my husband has NEVER been present when I contracted for renovations. This snooty woman took it upon herself to look up the deed to my home without advising me and then had the audacity to advise that %#*&% was listed in addition to me as the homeowner. PARDON ME? She then proceeds to say she couldn't schedule a visit unless the "decision makers" were available. Newsflash: being on a deed does not automatically make someone a decision maker--especially when they're not even present or involved. The whole thing was invasive, outdated, and flat-out disrespectful. If your business model includes digging into people's property records to decide who gets a consultation, you shouldn't be in business. Pro tip: It's 2025. If you're still using the "let me check with the husband" trope, you might want to take a class from a top sales coach and learn how to overcome objections without making sexist assumptions. Your sales training is showing--and it's not a good look. Congratulations--you just lost a $60,000+ job before you ever stepped on the property. read more

All they care about is trying to make a sale, no CREDIBLE customer service skills. When Adam realized he wasn't going to make a sale that day (after we told him we needed time to talk and think) he continued to push the fact that the "discount sale" was only valid that day and acted like we were wasting his time when HE suggested to come on his day off...and then sped off in his BMW when we didn't commit to a sale (we have video!). Company needs to retrain and reevaluate their process. After Adam left, we discovered that many of the things he was charging us for because "it was code" actually weren't required. He also said it would take 7 months for a deck project to be complete. He put in our quote a charge for the survey of land without doing his due diligence to know that it had already been done. So many red flags. Glad we went with a different company. Advice: double check what they tell you! read more

HD Exteriors replaced our deck (165 sq feet) with composite materials and replaced the entire backyard with a brushed concrete patio for our town house in Lake Ridge, VA. They did an absolutely amazing job; we could not be happier with the result! Our Home Owners Assoc can be difficult to work with, but HD Exteriors submission was so thorough and so professionally done that the process was actually a pleasure. I can't state this part enough, the package had detailed architectural drawings, land plat, permits, material descriptions, color palettes and pictures. The guys who actually did the "hands on" work not only knew what they were doing, but they did it with pride. As one worker said, "your fence isn't straight but your new patio is". We also discussed options like "would you like to add a step here" and that made a huge difference. I feel like there were no shortcuts and nothing sacrificed in order to get done and get out. In fact, that started early and worked late most every day. Last thing I wanted to mention was the office. I always knew what was going on every step of the way. Most questions were handled with a quick text message, and I loved that. They also have a customer web portal and use electronic signatures, which made reviewing documents convenient. We wanted to have a staircase and porch added to our backyard, because our home had a "door to nowhere" in the breakfast nook and a small stoop from our walkout lower-level. HD was very responsive when we called to inquire about our project and was willing to take it on. Their designer did a good job planning the layout and helping us select the best materials and colors. They took care of all of the permits and HOA notifications. The workers were amazing and did an excellent job on our project. Our only issue was lack of communication, but they took on a project that other builders would probably pass on and did it very well. read more

I had 5 contractors bid my deck, HD came in with some fairly decent discounts and seemed very professional and dedicated. The design phase was fairly smooth, I chose the signature package with LED lights on the rails with the caveat that I would choose the colors after the samples were dropped off. I sent off an email after I chose the colors that I wanted to the POC that I was provided. Two weeks ahead of the scheduled start date they dropped off a series of pallets with all of the material on the side of my yard, after I called and questioned the timing and effect it would have on my grass, they moved up the start date by a week. Demo went well, except for the cleanup. I had to pick up several bags of trash and nails that were left behind and they damaged a downspout on a completely unrelated area of the house when dumping the old deck over my fence. The install seemed to be going fine until I looked at the colors of the decking and it was not what I had indicated in the previous email. I went ahead and went with the colors that were provided, they were fairly close, and I am somewhat ambivalent in regard to color. Things began to slide rapidly from here, I had 4 support pillars previously with a downspout running down one into a drain that runs under my patio, which is brick. They had a 3-pillar design that completely disregarded the drain and the downspout. When I pointed this out, I was assured they would run a line under the patio and tie it in to the drain. The deck itself was put together in fairly short order, about 3 days. I had several discrepancies with the install, one board was rip-cut and very jagged and the V supports were not aligned to the edge of the support beams, no right angles and mis-aligned. The PM assured me someone would be out to fix it shortly. We are now 2 weeks into the build and 4 weeks with the construction material laying in my yard, grass is dead at this point and I am getting frustrated. They come out and fix the mangled board and the V supports and the deck itself is done. I still have a damaged down spout and my patio has a gaping hole with my drain sticking up out of the ground. About a week goes by with ZERO communication from HD, I'm outside looking around and notice a 3 inch gash in my paddle board. At this point I email the owner and offer to go with another contractor to fix my patio, damage to the spout and tell him about the p/b. He offered to buy me a new p/b, that was nice but missing the point entirely, he was aggressive and agitated, mentioning several time "I built this company" and only concerned about getting paid. I fixed the p/b myself. He assures me that someone will be out ASAP to fix my patio and that they will find similar brick for the repair. I explained that that particular brick was the only option and provided the information where it could be purchased. About a week later the patio crew came out, tied the drain in and laid the brick as it was before, leaving me with about 60 extra bricks to store, including the ones that were partially cut and completely useless to me. Inexplicably there is also white spray paint on a 4 brick section next to one of the pillars In summary, the deck itself is about 4 stars. Service, communication and execution of the project are one star, hence the 2-star rating. I do not recommend this company. read more

Before reading this review, please know that my expectations for any work done at our property will always be very strict and inflexible. Coming from a US Marine and LEO, can't expect anything less, but our experience with HD was very pleasant and satisfying. I will always recommend this family business. I only wish I had known about their professionalism and quality of work before I had another company doing the siding prior to their work. HD Exteriors stayed on top of everything from the very beginning of the project until I gave my final and personal revision. We invested in our deck, and it is now a great appeal to our property. Besides adding more value to it, our neighbors love seeing it, but these satisfying results only came because of the dedication of all the HD staff involved: the electrician, the foreman, the inspector, the builder and his crew, the administrative people, etc., even the County Inspector was marveled to the completed work. HD Exteriors will not rest until HD gets the final satisfaction of its customers. Please don't cheat yourselves; there are so many contractors (like wolves) who will promise you the same results at a cheaper price. I promise you will not go wrong with HD, and you will not get stressed by the unexpected issues any project may bring (HOA, County, workers, neighbors, etc.) they will take care of everything for you. Horrible. It is 945 and my appointment was at 9:00 AM this Saturday morning. When I booked, the company told me I would receive a call to remind me of the appointment the day before Friday. I did receive that call and a voicemail saying the call was "about" my appointment the next day. I called back as soon as I could, but could not get an answer. There was no portion of the voicemail that said your appointment has now been canceled, or even though you just made this appointment a day ago please do not expect us at your home tomorrow if your appointment has not been confirmed. I now called this morning to see where my technician is and they said because you did not pick up to confirm no one is coming because we are based out of Virginia ( I live in MD). How is your possible travel my issue, never was I told if you are unable to pick up your phone and confirm this appointment we will not come. This has been a total waste of my time. The only thing the phone representative told me we can try to get you on the schedule, no I can try to find someone else to give my money to. They should really think about changing up this portion of their business model because it can cause genuine inconveniences for customers or at least potential customers. If you say you're coming then come don't cancel because I missed a single call during my work hours. It makes me wonder what other parts of their business is a bit flaky so we have decided to see other companies. I see other customers have a few reviews that I cannot speak for because our experience was totally different. I feel blessed to have found HD Exteriors! They completed and submitted my HOA paperwork quickly. After the HOA approval I reached out to them to schedule and they were able to start work the next week. They tore out my old wood rotted staircase and replaced everything with a beautiful wood treated staircase in two days! I appreciate being aware to wait a few weeks before staining the wood as I would not know the proper way to take care of pretreated wood. The pricing was lower than other companies quoted and the 0% APR financing was a huge help! I've had work done with a completely different company on the exterior before (brand new roof) and felt like the workers disrespected my property (left shingles, nails and trash in my yard -also broke solar lights in my flowerbed) HOWEVER the workers from HD Exteriors respected my property and kept it as tidy as possible. What is interesting though is WE thought we almost missed our appointment with them and called because we ran late and the guy that answered said they had been trying to contact me..wrong. No missed calls and I got online to have no emails and the only email from days prior has no link for the online session. So I called back. Again the guy who answered didn't really know what was up and just seemed confused. The guy who was supposed to meet with us called me and told me he was moving that day and would get a quote over to me. Interesting bc his step mom has told me he was moving the following day but aside from that how were you scheduled at 6:30 to review with us and it's 6:45 and you haven't even drawn it up? Nonetheless I was understanding and said no biggie I get it stuff comes up just get it to us this week if you can or the weekend. Welp that was a week ago and no response from him or the HD team. How do you run a business when most of your reviews are that you don't even send out the estimate? Why drive to our house and waste the gas and time to not at least send a design. I enlisted HD Exteriors to replace my existing patio which was definitely a DIY project by the previous owner. The entire process was stress-free. The designer was great and making my selections was very easy. They took care of submitting to my HOA and obtaining the permits. The only issue i had was with delivery and pick up of the materials. I didn't receive a call regarding the materials being delivered and was shocked to get home and find them in my parking space. Also it's taken over a week for the remaining materials to be picked up so I will call the office tomorrow. Other than that I would recommend using HD Exteriors and will use them again. read more

HD Exteriors replaced our 20 year-old wood deck with a beautiful new Trex deck in April. We had gotten 4 presentations from companies based on contacts we got from the Capital Home Show, and HD Exteriors was head and shoulders above all the others in design, detail, cost, and communication. Graham Jr., was our point of contact in setting our contract, and he was friendly, knowledgeable, professional, and clear. He listened to what we wanted to do, offered suggestions and didn't try to upsell us. We were given a start timeframe, but our actual start date was earlier, which we appreciated. Throughout the entire process of signing the contract, having questions answered, being assigned a project manager, (Jai, who was always accessible and awesome) and the actual work being done, the communication was excellent. We were notified when workers would be onsite, when inspections were scheduled, when walk-thrus were done, and had access via text to our PM. All of it was extremely well done. The deck was finished with excellent workmanship, even when they installed a style of steps they'd never done before. We can't say enough positive things about the entire company and how they operated. They were a pleasure to work with. We're just sorry we don't have anything else for them to build! read more

We hired HD to build a small thermal flagstone patio and a sitting wall over an existing cement slab. I chose them because of their Better Business Bureau A+ rating and positive reviews, and they offered the best price for the project. It went downhill from there after we signed the contract. It is now six months from the start of the project and it is finally done and we are reasonably satisfied with the outcome. It should not have taken more than a week to complete this project if it had been done properly. We were without the use of our patio for the entire summer. There was little to no oversight, the workers were unreliable and inexperienced, work was sloppy from day one, and communication was very difficult. Two of the workers relieved themselves in the back of my property, which was disgusting and obviously unacceptable. The general manager apologized repeatedly for the problems and even offered some kind of compensation but that never materialized. The workers also damaged our siding. HD sent someone to try and clean it, but they were unsuccessful. The company did not make any offer to replace it so we replaced the damaged siding at our own expense. I would not recommend this company to anyone. read more

Today is 9/24/21 Bid - 8/2020 Work began 11/2020 "Completed " 12/2020 No shows to fix issues 1/1020 - 5/2020 UNTIL I BITHCHED Some repairs (and several empty committments) 5/2020 - 7/2020 No word from HD Exteriors since 1) Retaining walls are sieves 2) Almost all the joists were not set properly and not to code. Remote Inspection and lies to inspector got the job passed 3) Stair railing listed at a 15° angle and was dangerously unsecure 4) ELECTRICAL WORK DONE BY UNLICENSED CREW MEMBER - and they tore up my Family Room and Garage walls leaving them in disrepair for 6 months 5) My working motion detector light no longer works properly - messed up by unlicensed electrical work 6) Electrical panel for stair lighting was screwed (1 screw) into the side of my house next to my water hose even after i showed where it was to be installed 7) Railing warped due to poor/improper installation 8) My siding has not been addresses 9) Mitre angles don't match up 10) Each of the10 stair railings are on a different slope angle - some even the pairs don't slope at the same angle 11) Dock unlevel - several boards not level with the rest of the deck 12) Boards cut too short leaving gaps 13) Boards installed upside down (board grain installed holding standing eater rather than shedding water) 14) Job abandonment TWICE AND THERE'S MORE, MORE, MORE ... TOO MUCH TO LIST As far as the electrical work, HD Exteriors pulled a con job on me, completely misrepresenting themselves as qualified to perform electrical work. I contacted them for estimate for fencing and outdoor patio as they performed work for a neighbor and it looked fine. This was back in May. I contacted them and Grahm jr. came out to measure and provide estimate within a couple of days. A couple of weeks go by as I knew a lot of construction companies were busy during COVID. I called back and got connected to Grahm Sr. he stated that he would follow up but nothing. Communication is not good and if you are booked just say so, so I can look else where which I did. Almost all good contractors that are good have a backlog and possibly a couple months delay as they have a good reputation and people are willing to wait for their quality services. Not to happy but hopefully they are doing quality jobs where they are and they need to improve management and communications as it seems like those are the reasons folks are complaining about. read more

We hired HD Exteriors to build out a new deck for us because they seemed professional (at first). They drew up a drawing for us and we approved it. When it was time to start building the deck, we noticed that the steps leading up to the deck were right in front of our window, when initially, we specifically said we did NOT want steps in front of our window as it obstructs our view. Tim Dumm at our initial meeting assured us that this would not happen. So their blueprints were incorrect and I remember Graham, the owner, saying they will no longer add windows to their drawings (probably to prevent clients from catching this mistake). We agreed that instead of reconstructing the deck which would cost them more money, we agreed instead to build out a patio at a discounted rate. We were thinking of doing a patio anyways so we took him up on his offer. Since we were getting the deck built first, we would wait and build the patio afterwards. Also, I want to mention some other issues we encountered so people are aware. During inspection, they didn't do composite boards on the top rail like they promised us. They said this was standard. One of the main boards had a huge gash on it that I asked them to replace. We built a roof, so this required gutters. They promised they were going to bury our gutters and connect them to our already established drain line in our yard. They didn't bury our gutters above ground until we told them. And when we did get them to correct it they didn't do it as discussed which resulted in the water pouring out into our yard. When we paid them for the deck and asked about next steps on the patio, Graham writes back saying that he would look through the emails and see what was promised for what price. This was in March. Crickets...Followed up in April with Beth, then in May with Graham. Crickets. It's now June, which is why we are writing this review. Our assumption now is he realized he was giving us a discount for THEIR mistake so they are now ghosting us. This is highly unprofessional and we regret going with this company for their lack of integrity and lack of communication. For the amount of money we spent on this deck and roof we expect to get quality work. To top it off, we now notice that a lot of the posts or support beams have cracks in them from the nails. They had promised us high quality wood which we do not see now that the job has been done. For people out there who are looking to build a deck or patio, don't be fooled by their presentation because in the end all they want is your money and that's all they care about. read more

He took some measurements and provided a couple of suggestions based on our needs and was told we would receive a quote within couple days. Visit took approximately 20 mins. Reached out on Monday morning to inquire about the quote, only to receive a response from one of their manager's apologizing for Graham's delay and that they have asked Graham to send me a quote asap. It's Tuesday late morning right now and still nothing. Graham Sr., you can thank your top notch son (Jr) for losing potential customer(s) for your company I'm sure you've worked very hard to build! We purchased our first home and knew after the home inspection process that the deck and roof needed some work. After some googling, I came across these guys. I really wanted to like the company, but instead we became blown away by their lack of professionalism, honesty and follow through. Here's how it unfolded: We called and explained that we needed the roof and deck looked at for estimates, but our biggest concern was the roof. The company comes out on the scheduled day but said they were only prepared to look at the deck. When we asked about the roof, one of the guys said they didn't know they were going to have to look at the roof as only the deck estimate request was relayed to them. What?! I explained that the roof was the main reason we even called, and this was firmly stated in the call to HD Exteriors in the first place! Anyway, while there, they seemed rushed and, although nice, only reviewed the deck. He said he would work up an estimate and send it over shortly. When asked about coming back to look at the roof, he said he'd set something up in the next few days. After not hearing back, we called to inquire. Finally set something up, but now it's more than a week later than the first appointment. Still no estimate for the deck. Before coming this time, he said he would work up the roof estimate during this meeting. We reluctantly agreed. They come and review the roof. After inspecting the attic and the roof, he declared that there were no major issues with the roof - even though a contractor afterwards noticed leaking in several spots (with pictures) along with other roof issues. When asked about other issues, he only said something after I prompted like, "Me: Did you notice any shingles missing?" He'd say something like, "Oh yeah, there were a few..." Um, don't you think that was important to tell me when I asked were there any issues? While there, I requested an estimate for a full roof replacement (as I had already secured several from other companies), and HD Exteriors failed - again - to do so as promised during the meeting. When asked for when I would receive it, the answer would change to "later tonight" to "tomorrow," etc. It's almost three weeks since this latest appointment - still no estimates for the deck or roof. Here I was, ready and willing to spend thousands of dollars, and this company can't seem to be professional and honest enough in their dealings. What a shame. I ended up taking my money elsewhere to get the roof addressed, and will seek out some other company to replace the deck. These guys are a joke or don't care - I'm not sure which. We needed our front patio/deck rebuilt & brought up to current code & decided to hire HD Exteriors for the job. It was determined that we were also going to screen in the new patio. The crew came out & set to work on removing the old & digging new holes for the new footers, then wait for the inspector, they got the go ahead & continued on. The crew did a really good job with the construction & they tried their best not to trample the plants that were just starting to poke through. We were told that to have a door we would have to "extend" the landing by a foot or so, we agreed to this. Upon completion, the county inspector came out and approved the final product. My husband & I are happy with the patio. The only reason we did not give a 5 star rating is this. The companies "follow thru" is basically non-existent. A few weeks after completion, we had skanks & other "critters" getting in where the frame met the house. The door would stick when partially opened & was also installed "backwards" as well as the door handle. We called them back & they sent out someone who heard our complaints & said he would send out someone to add a caulking along the wall to seal it better & would also look into the door & handle issue. After quite a bit of time went by, we called them again. Was told that someone would come out, nobody ever did. My husband & I ended up "installing" our own "caulking", & then we also "fixed" 1 of the door issues ourselves. With the handle still being backwards, we COULD get locked into our own place... Our saving grace is the latch does not connect completely & we can push the door open with no difficulty, even if it was locked. Technically, the door is not up to code as it swings in, not out. The handle is backwards, & the landing was not extended. One "nice" feature is, they did install lights under the steps that come on at night... DID NOT know that they were going to install this & have to take up a plug, but it looks nice at night. ( the bulbs had to be replaced within 3 months) So, all in all.... 4 stars, mostly due to the crew that did really decent work. read more

HD Exteriors - A+ What can I say? From our first meeting and contract to the finished project and final walk through, HD Exteriors was outstanding at every stage. Truly remarkable. The communication between all of us was fantastic - they listened to us and went out of their way to answer all of our questions and made sure that we understood. Everything they said they would do was done in a highly competent manner. They did the project as if the work was being done on their own house. On days when they knew they would be late or not be at our site because the materials were late (only a couple of times) they always told us. We never wondered where they were - as they were committed to getting the project completed as stated. They did not rush the project just to get it done and always measured twice and cut once. They never left a mess of trash and took it away every day. Our deck/porch project was the best experience we have ever had with the contractors we have worked with during our 40+ years in Northern VA. The project went flawlessly and was done by courteous, intelligent and experienced professionals. I would not hesitate to use them again! read more

We consider ourselves lucky to have found HD Exteriors to build our deck addition and the lattice work cover for the underside of our existing screened porch. Prior to this, we have called and interviewed a few other contractors who did not satisfy our requirements and price point. The HD crew of Jose and Rodolfo did a great job in spite of challenges that were not of their own making, like weather delays. Their boss Graham was very forthcoming in explaining to us when they encountered minor problems, and patiently listened when we had questions. We really felt that we could trust them to finish the work according to the contract, which they did. The company office staff was very professional and promptly responded to our queries. HD Exteriors, in our opinion is a contractor that puts customer satisfaction above all else - including the bottom line. We would highly recommend them. read more

HD Exteriors did fantastic work for us on a $36K project. They removed and replaced a deck, patio, and fence completely. They also did a rain escape system and put a ceiling fan and lighting under the deck. The price was very fair, not the highest or lowest, but the quality was first rate and my wife and I are loving the project. The project is beautiful and Graham and his team would not leave until we were completely satisfied with the results! This was not a typical contract experience for us since even the payment schedule ensured they had skin in the game until you were fully satisfied at project completion. HD Exteriors came out three times before we decided to use them for our TREX composite large re-decking project in Sept 2019. They made several suggestions that helped to reduce the final project cost. Once we signed a contract, they worked with us to determine a start date that met our timeline. We were kept informed each step along the way, such as when material was ordered, when to expect delivery and when work would start. On the scheduled date, the workmen showed up on time as they did everyday until work was to completed. They worked until 5:30PM every day and longer on a few. They completed the work on time within 6 working days. The workmanship was outstanding and workers were very polite and courteous. I'm finally getting on here to write a review of my deck. I had to figure out how I wanted to approach this. I'm giving them 5 stars for the work overall. Graham Jr came in and was the most professional of the bunch. He provided pictures, testimonials, insight, asked us our interests, etc. We met with someone who was going to be cheaper and were going to go with them. But Graham Sr worked with us and lowered the price. We got an extremely good deal. My wife and I repeatedly say that our deck was the best investment we've ever made. We could not have been able to say that had we gone with the other vendor. There were some drawbacks though, which is why it took me so long to write this. The holes dug for the posts left piles of dirt on our grass. Because of the inspection and time spent waiting, and the rain; the grass beneath the dirt died. We paid for this grass to be installed just a year and a half earlier. We're on the verge of refashioning it into a garden. Also, materials were left and the concrete slab which served as a small platform off from the patio beneath the deck was broken on the corner. I had to call Graham to get them to come and pick up the materials and replace the slab. Finally, an electrical line running near the posts was cut, water slowly leaked in, and our appliances stopped adequately working. The electrical company came out and it cost us nothing. So all in all, the *deck* is a 5; the job of the workers regarding everything besides the building of the deck was a 2. I still believe they deserve a 5 though. Hopefully this helps. read more

What can we say? Graham brought it all home for us. This is a family owned business, so we were impressed from the very start. Our initial contact was online, followed by an immediate phone call from his office. Shortly thereafter, we met, looked over the yard, chose pavers, colors and a style. Then the real fun began! Dealing with the HOA was like silk because their questions were answered before they could ask. The work began early on Monday and was finished by mid day on Tuesday. Our patio is perfection. The curved steps are lit, as well as the sitting wall. The patio surface is the ideal width for our blue perennial ground cover running the length on each side. Gorgeous! So go ahead and check with other exterior contractors if you must. You will discover that character counts, that you can't put a price tag on integrity and that Graham pours vision and artistry into every project. HD EXTERIORS. The best in every way. read more
