We reached out to several local shed companies. Most blew us off or spent little effort in trying to earn our business. Josh from Alger Sheds was quick to respond and come out to provide an onsite estimate. Our project was unique in that our shed needed to be constructed onsite due to access issues. Josh was informative, non-pressure and detailed with the quote and build process. He spent time explaining the different options and pros/cons of each. Once we signed the contract with Alger, we were told about 5-6 weeks for the shed to be installed. Alger delivered and installed the shed in less than 4 weeks. On the day of the install they were on time, respectful of our property and left the job site clean. They completed our 10x16 shed in one day!! Alger is definitely not the cheapest but most definitely the best in the business. We would highly recommend Alger!! read more

UPDATE After posting my disappointment about their lack of response to my solicitation, I was rewarded with a written apology for the oversight in my behalf. Since I had already contracted my business to another contractor I did not immediately respond. But after a second inquiry asking for an opportunity to solve my issue I did respond that the job was already arranged with someone else. I am very pleased to know that the posting of my displeasure of their seeming disinterest precipitated a genuine response and willingness to correct what might have been simply a "dropping of the ball" I will consider Alger Deck and Fence in future for their help with similar transactions. I have increased my rating. read more

If you are looking for a new deck then you must call Tony Alger. After a two year search I found Alger deck through Yelp and couldn't be happier with the quality of the workmanship, materials and communication. They replaced my 35 year old deck with a new one of which half is a screened porch. I absolutely love everything about it. Highly recommend. read more

excellent outfit, they helped me to build a roll roof observatory and they were able to accommodate my unusual requests (don't attach the roof to the walls) to achieve that goal. communications were timely and effective. pricing was reasonable, as were pricing for change orders in the middle of project. I would readily work with them again. read more

We originally went to Alger Sheds to shop for a shed and it went so well that we got a deck too. The quality and options for the shed exceeded other companies we looked at. For the deck, Tony worked through challenges getting the permit approved by the county so we could get the new deck we wanted. The quality and attention to detail for the deck construction are fantastic. They kept us updated on the schedule throughout both projects. read more

We are very pleased with the work that Alger Deck and Fence did for our home. We installed a new fence and elevated deck, and it turned out really nice. The guys who built the deck were here bright and early each morning, and worked even in rough conditions of cold and wind. Tony Alger provided us with a free estimate which we compared with other contractors, and Alger D&F was the best deal for us. Everything was on-schedule with the deck, and the whole fence was actually installed in one day! We were impressed and would definitely recommend Alger Deck and Fence. read more

Alger Deck and Fence - Elevated deck and 6ft alternating board style custom built fence by Alger Deck & Fence - Fences & Gates Near Me - Manassas, Virginia

Update, 5/19/2020. I asked for an estimate to replace a pole for my deck. Something they previously had stated they would be interested in performing. One sentence email that they were not interested, no explanation or even a phone call. Great fence, not so great customer service or follow up. read more

I hired Alger Sheds to build a custom shed for me. I did research and got quotes from a few vendors. They were about in the middle with price, but the quality of their sheds and the options they offered were the best, so I went with them. I had some issues with my HOA permitting the shed in my yard without a fence which took several weeks to resolve. Tony refunded me my deposit without question and waited patiently for me to get the HOA issue resolved. I got it done, repaid the deposit, and about a month later they were installing a gravel pad in my backyard. That took about a day. A couple weeks later they delivered all the shed materials to the house on a truck, and walked them down to the opposite side of my yard. They assembled everything onsite and did a fantastic job. I have gotten several complements on the shed. They matched the colors to my house, custom built a ramp for my mower, installed custom shelves inside. Overall, it's a great shed at a reasonable price. I had an issue with the ramp recently, and they came back out to provide post-sales support to get the ramp fixed. A lot of contractors wouldn't bother. A+ rating for Tony Alger and Alger Sheds. read more

While the woman who answered the phone was very nice, I never received a quote or a call back. This was a week and a half ago. Maybe they think the job is too small. The irony here is that I have a large yard and intend to have the whole fence replaced eventually. Guess who I'm not going to call for that? Here's an update: Tony offered, publicly and privately by message, to provide me with a quote so I called him back today. He lectured me about my being inappropriate by posting a negative review on yelp and made it clear he had no interest in doing business with me. I guess he apologized and offered to provide a quote to make his business look good on yelp, but for no other reason. He mentioned the fact that my review was still posted. Why would I remove a legitimate, honest review simply because he reached out to me? I have no motivation to provide positive feedback on someone who claims to want my business yet responds with hostility and condescension. read more

We are thrilled with our new fence . We have two small dogs that can now safely run around .Tony the owner gave us the estimate and was there the morning his crew started. Tony is extremely easy going and listens to all your concerns. Having two tiny dogs, he made sure they couldn't slip under the gate with a few small adjustments after the job was completed. Thank you Tony we will certainly recommend you to our neighbors. read more

Tony Alger from Alger Deck and Fencing came out and performed a very thorough inspection of my deck and explained what needed to be repaired and together we formulated a timeline. He was professional and helpful in his knowledge of how to repair my deck foundation pillars. With over 1250 square feet of decking, I need a company who will do a good job at a reasonable cost. Tony's crew replaced 2 deck foundation pillars and built a beautiful gate on my deck. They also rebuilt two gates in a side yard and installed very sturdy hardware. Great job and at a great price. I will definitely call Alger Deck and Fence for all my deck and fence needs. read more

Alger Deck and Fence replaced our aging deck with a beautiful new deck with TREX, trellis and lattice. The attention to detail, high quality materials, expertise, and professionalism of Tony and his crew made this a pleasant and positive experience. We highly recommend Tony Alger. read more

We are very happy with the shed Tony and his team built for us. They all were extremely professional. Tony's team kept the work space clean and tidy while they were on the job. They were here two-and-a-half days; one where they installed a gravel pad an the other day-and-a-half was dedicated to building the shed. The extra time was due to a rain delay, otherwise, they would have finished up in two days. I highly recommend Alger Sheds. read more

I had a fence installed in my backyard. The fence is perfect. The crew completed the job in one day. They were professional and left my yard cleaner than when they started. I would completely recommend to anybody. read more

Alger Deck and Fence did a fantastic job replacing our previous fence that was destroyed in a storm. Tony understood our immediate need for a fence given the 5 dogs we had with us at the time of the storm. He offered to create a temporary barrier to keep everyone in the yard. Tony provided options in our quote so we could decide what was best for our family. The gentlemen did a great job cleaning up the old fence and replacing it with a beautiful new strong fence. The materials used were high quality and the work was too. All of my neighbors were full of compliments. The office called about a month after completion to ensure we were still happy with the work completed. Look no further for quality work and people. read more

Tony and his partner Bill Quinn were amazing. I interviewed at least 7 other companies and these guys were class act, good price point and executed on everything they promised. I wanted a "One Stop Shop" for a fence, patio (w/ fire pit) and Trek/Vinyl Deck. These guys finished on time and the project exceeded my expectations. I would recommend them to anyone and actually already told a bunch of people about their work in Dominion Valley. I would use them again and again. In fact, Bill's company will continue to do all my landscaping needs moving forward. read more

We used Alger Deck and Fence to install a 4 ft red cedar fence around the perimeter of our yard. During the initial consultation, you could tell Tony (the owner) knew what he was talking about and had been in the fencing business for some time. After the quote, we needed to get approval from our local HOA and Tony was great about working around the approval schedule. On the day of the installation, his crew got the posts set, leveled, and 239 ft of board-on-board fence up in one day. I couldn't believe how fast his crew worked. The fence looks amazing, and the smell of red cedar is just terrific. read more

I write in support of Tony, his crew, and office staff at Alger Deck and Fence. Their price was the best of all and their work was of outstanding professional quality - there were even a few extra things they did to accomodate a last minute request. They showed up when they said they would, cleaned up each day, and at the end hauled away all debris. I will very highly recommend Alger Deck and Fence to all my friends and would not hesitate to use them again! read more

Tony came out to our home and we talked abut our design ideas. He made some excellent suggestions that we went with too. He is so layed back and calm, no one could EVER feel an ounce of pressure from Tony Alger. He really knows how to design decks! This deck is built like Fort Knox! The attention to detail is unlike any I have ever seen! The rest of our home will fall down way before this deck will ever move! It is EXACTLY what we asked for and we both agree that it is SOOOOO much more beautiful then either of us expected. The workers that came were so professional, kind and just plan jolly! We were concerned about having "construction workers" around our home as to what there manors would be like. These guys were great! Infact as soon as it finally warms up, we hope they will come back for a visit and share a glass of iced tea or some fresh made lemon aide on our new beautiful porch so they too can enjoy the fruits of their labor. We can only give Tony Alger, Alger Deck and Fence, the highest possible ratings available!!! If you ever need a referral I hope you will ask us! Our porch is beautiful and sturdy and will be the place for many family gatherings for many many years to come!! I am sure the value of our home has gone up far more then the cost of this deck! It is worth every single penny!! Great job Tony and crew!! You guys are AMAZING! read more
