Roof replaced and it was an easy installation with their team. Andrew spent an hour going over every step of the way before we decided. We got another quote from another company which was half the cost. I was suspicious of the other company when they never came out to the property and only used drones and said the temperature outside didn't matter that it was below freezing. The roof would adhere and it would be fine. When Andrew came out we never mentioned the other company but he went over how temperature does matter. This company does not take appropriate care for the impact of its work on surrounding properties. My neighbors had their roof replaced by this company, and thankfully the company placed a sign advertising their services so I could leave this review. During the morning, while stripping the roof of its spent surface, the roofers used shovels, a leaf blower, or their hands to litter the old roofing onto the ground below completely without care for the surrounding area. They didn't even look before pushing things over the side and in one instance I was showered with roofing material from three floors above. When I tried to address it with one of the workers, I received an insincere apology delivered with a smile. I also overheard the supervisor say to the workers to let him know before they started laying the roof tiles so he could "show [them] how to do it." So you've hired roofers that don't know how to install roofing? No fault to my neighbors, of course. But it's clear that the company does not hire or train its workers to be skilled or courteous, so I would caution others when considering hiring them. read more

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!! VERY DISORGANIZED POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE Someone from this company reached out to me late at night through text, offer to schedule a roof inspection, initially I wanted to try to use them, but the schedule doesn't work out, so I have to cancel the appointment. After I cancelled the appointment , someone call my tenant early this morning to confirm the appointment, WTH? I don't even know how they got my tenant's phone number. Anyway I called back to complain, someone on the phone who refuses to tell me her name or identify herself tell me to just call the corporate to complain. read more

After a door-to-door sales rep stopped by and convinced me to get a written estimate from them, they scheduled an appointment to assess my house and provide a free written quote that would be good for a year. They arrived on time, took measurements, tried to upsell me on additional products I didn't want, and told me about ballpark ranges for the items I'd asked about. They asked for my email address, but then never sent the written estimate. What a waste of time. I'll note that after I initially gave them my cell phone number (which they'd asked for to confirm the appointment), I've gotten several telemarketing calls for home improvement services, even though my number is on the Do Not Call registry. I can't help but suspect that NuHone just sold my information to other marketers. read more

I highly recommend NuHome. They knocked on our door to tell us about the services they offered and we decided to schedule an estimate. Mike McCormick came out to our home to take a look at our siding and insulation. He was on time and very friendly. I appreciated that he spent time explaining to myself and my father in detail about the entire process so we were prepared on what to expect. Beautiful work and top of the line products. We're very happy read more

Highly recommend them! We've used NuHome to install a storm door and a roof/insulation on our home. We have been impressed with their professionalism and products. They do not use any sort of high pressure sales tactics at all! For both the storm door and roof we let them know that since these were big purchase we needed time to think. They were fine with this and gave us the time we needed! They were also very flexible as well with us when we made a mistake with the storm door. We didn't read the HOA documents correctly and ordered a door that didn't really fit the design. Even though we already ordered and paid they allowed us to order a different one. We also have windows by NuHome put in place by a previous home owner that have a lifetime guarantee. The owner did not officially transfer the ownership of the windows to us but that was not a problem for NuHome! We had an issue with one of the windows and called NuHome. They came and fixed the window within a week. read more

This is not a review of their service as we did not end up hiring them but a review of their professionalism. We were getting quotes from several companies to redo our roof and their representative was the last one we met with. While we did appreciate the amount of technical detail she gave us about the work they do, she repeatedly derided all of the competition in a very unprofessional manner, calling them "Chuck in a truck" or "Stan in a van". To hear her talk, everyone but her company is full of cheats and liars. For all I know, her company's work is the best money can buy. However, I cannot abide slander. Also, her quoted price was 140% higher than all of our other offers. read more

Love them! Answered all of our questions and went into detail about the job we were getting done. Everything was done in a timely manner, and they're very professional. Even after the job was done Rob made sure everything was fine and that we were happy. Really happy with Nuhome. Thank you!!!! read more

They have great representation. Honestly, I am not using them for my storm doors due to the long wait period for installation. Yet, if they were able to install the doors sooner, I would have worked with them. Din Lessner was the sales agent, and he was exceptional. Very detailed, honest, and he always checked back in to see if I had any additional questions. If you don't need immediate installation of storm doors, I would say choose them. They aren't too pricey, and the people seem very straight forward and honest. read more

We were hesitant at first when the person giving us a quote went by the Insurance estimate solely. However, after understanding the insurance claim process better, we felt more comfortable. As other reviews stated, the quality of the materials and the work done to replace our whole roof were fantastic! Casey, the owner was also very friendly, knowledgeable and assisted us with all of our concerns. read more

The company is poorly organized and not upfront about what they don't and will do. I reached out to a couple of companies to have our fascia board below our roof replaced. Other companies gave me estimates from pictures. NuHome setup a time to come give an estimate that I organized my schedule around only to tell me they don't work on townhouses. This could have been avoided if they had asked more questions. They might do okay work but make sure they will work on your house. read more

Update: Given our prior good experiences with NuHome, we asked them to replace our roof. I resisted replacing our roof for a long time because it seemed like a repair that was necessary but not something I would notice or enjoy every day. Boy, was I wrong. NuHome found that our existing roof, as designed, was not venting properly. I thought it was normal for the top floor to feel like an oven in the summer. After NuHome installed the new roof, I noticed the temperature difference that same day. Totally worth it. As expected, when NuHome sent their sales rep over (I think his name was Francisco), he was knowledgable and courteous and did not employ high pressure sales tactics. He gave me many options for many budgets. The roof was installed, without issue, in one day. I am really happy with the experience and the end product. Next time I need a project done on the outside of my house, I know exactly where I'll be going. read more

Beware of this company. They go through your neighborhood and knock door to door claiming they can offer services to claim through your insurance company. Then they claim they will refund your deductible (red flag). When they complete the job, they claim it was more work than they planned so they do not refund the deductible. Total scammers read more

Once again a fantastic experience from beginning to end. Over the past 10 years NuHome has replaced our roof, and with the last six basement windows being done just last Friday they have replaced all of our windows. Everyone that we have dealt with in each of the processes were complete professionals. With the quality of their work coupled with their prices and products makes choosing NuHome the best choice. Thank you NuHome again. read more

I am a repeat customer with NuHome, not to be confused with the other "Nu" named company. In 2017, I ordered windows for the top floor of my home. This was after meeting with three other companies for estimates and representatives trying to tell me what kind of windows I wanted. At the time I had windows that you raise and lower to open, double hung. I wanted windows that open outwards by turning a handle, casement. Casement windows are expensive and are not commonly sold or asked for. I learned this the hard way from 3 salesmen that tried to sell me everything but these windows. NuHome representative Kelly Pierce sold me the windows I now have, love, receive plenty compliments on, and am currently ordering for the lower level of my home. From the very personable receptionist I made my appointment with on day 1, to the two gentlemen who came to my home, measured and installed my windows in one day, I have been impressed by this company. Kelly listened to what I wanted, why I wanted what I wanted, and didn't try to sell me what he wanted or what special product was being promoted at the time that I didn't care about. Even when I wanted to sleep on my pricey purchase decision (lower cost options were provided but I like doing things once and not pay twice even if that means not right now) he said okay, arranged a time to follow up, and left as pleasant as he arrived. Someone from the company checked in with me at various points, sales appointment follow up, when my windows arrived, install appointment, after the install follow up. I didn't feel like they were calling pushing additional products, they did not. They really wanted to keep me updated and make sure things went well. I am glad I chose NuHome. If I need to I will again. I am not a referrer but I passed on their information to my parents. I have never done that, ever. read more

I wanted to have a storm door installed. After being stood up for an estimate by another company that just does doors, I looked through the local company reviews for another storm door company. NuHome seemed to have some good reviews, so I gave them a call. Positives: - Very pleasant and friendly person in the office - Scheduled someone to come out for an estimate promptly - Salesperson actually showed up for the appointment - Salesperson was very respectful of all of our decisions and did not try to oversell us on options or doors - The Provia door itself looks nice - Sent out another contractor promptly to fix the poor work from the initial crew Negatives: - It seemed to take some time (almost two weeks) for a contractor to come measure for the storm door. - Contractor showed up after dark unannounced to take the measurements without a call in advance or knock at the door, so it was a bit alarming hearing scratching noises at the door and seeing someone creeping around out there. - Actual installation was a little over six weeks instead of the estimated four to five - Initial installation looked horrible. Contractor used chunks of wood to bring the door hardware flush with the door. Wood exposed to the outdoors was left unprimed and uncaulked, right before a weekend of rain. - After making a complaint and sending photos, they sent another crew out to put some sort of cosmetic wrap, which looks good but with warmer weather and direct sunlight coming through the storm door it's starting to offgass a noxious, chemical odor into our house. I'm guessing that it's something that should be used on the exterior not in a doorway to the interior of the house. Three weeks ago I emailed the company to let them know, got a courtesy call, but no other follow-up since then. I'm probably going to have to hire someone to rip out this horrible smelling material and put in some good old-fashioned wood. read more

We are very happy with the roof installation by NuHome. From the very beginning working with them to make sure we understood our options and chose the right product for us and our house. I am so pleased to write this review for NuHome. They were responsive, polite, professional and the workmanship was excellent. Casey and his team went above and beyond, working with the HOA, the insurance agent, the tenant and myself to complete the siding repairs. After the storm blew through Northern Virginia, it was a challenge to find a siding company to repair our rental home. However, Casey quickly dispatched an estimator and supplied me with a quote. Because the insurance company was slow to send an adjuster due to the numerous claims (3+ weeks!), Casey sent a crew to temporarily protect the exposed wood with CertainTeed house wrap. The wrap was installed the same day as my request. The siding was replaced as soon as I received the go-ahead from the insurance agent and it looks perfect. Throughout the process, NuHome stayed in close communication with me and sent me before and after pictures of the home (we live 2000 miles away from the rental home.) Thank you, Casey and the NuHome team for making an otherwise arduous process an easy and worry-free experience. read more

Nuhome was professional through the entire experience. I got the windows replaced in my home. They came in from the start with the best price and a no pressure salesman. We signed up and from there the experience only got better. The office kept us up to date through the whole process. The installers were professional and polite. The did great work including cleaning up any small debris from my yard and I mean small. I would recommend them to any person that asks and will use them again in the future for work on my home. Thank you Nuhome for the great customer service. read more

I hired NuHome to replace a 30-plus-year-old sliding glass door. I knew what I wanted, energy efficient and sound dampening glass, and I received exactly that. The salesman was prompt, courteous, and offered me various alternatives to lower the cost. I never felt pressured, and I am confident I got a good value from NuHome. My only criticism, and it is fairly minor to me, is I was told 3 - 5 weeks from ordering to installation, and it took around 7. I suspect someone dropped the ball with the paperwork because the subcontractor didn't come out to verify the door measurements until about 3 weeks after I signed the contract, which means the door probably wasn't ordered until then. I wrestled with whether this warranted a star reduction, but I decided it did not for a couple reasons. First and by far the most important, the subcontractor who installed the door did a really nice job. And I've been told that the installation is far more important than the actual door you ordered. The frame looks great, caulking perfect; they insulated the heck out of the opening. I'm really, really pleased with how it turned out and no longer feel a steady draft. So, given I got a good value and great quality, I think speed is an acceptable sacrifice. Second, I wasn't in a particular hurry for the door, and I didn't call or otherwise pressure NuHome for the delay, so I felt It would be a little unfair to ding an entire star. In short, I'm happy with the outcome and will have NuHome bid on my next large home project. read more

Hiring a contractor to replace your roof can be stressful. Let me tell you, relax. NuHome is GREAT! My sales consultant, Joe, was friendly, professional, and fair. They offer a great product with a superb warranty if you pay just a smidge extra -- worth it! We negotiated a good bit and reached a price we both thought was fair. Within days, my roof was scheduled for replacement -- first week of January -- with one date for delivery of materials and the next day for installation. They use some high-tech overhead mapping technology (Pictometry) to estimate your roof size. I think it's a bit high. Then they tack on a little more for "waste" ... also a bit high. Watch those numbers. The installation crew arrived on time and they were very professional. They replaced my roof (20+ squares) in 7 hours. That included the tear-off. Their prep (tarps on the ground) and their clean up was impeccable. The neighbors probably didn't even notice the roof was replaced since the roofing crew came after many were at work and left before they got home! They took pictures of the roof with our cell phone during the install so we could document their progress -- a very nice touch and greatly appreciated. Grace at NuHome was always very polite and professional when she called me or I had to call her. It took one of those other fence/roof/windows companies weeks to even get back to me. NuHome gets an A+ from me and if I need additional work (siding/windows/doors), I'll be calling them first. read more

This was a very good experience from start to finish. Replacing a roof on a 100 year old farmhouse is never a minor undertaking but NuHome took on the challenge with professionalism. I was present during the entire install and observed their crew's care and attention to detail. They worked tirelessly every step of the way and did a remarkable job navigating a very tall and steep roof. No corners were ever cut. I couldn't be happier with the finished product. read more

When we were looking for a company to replace our flat roof, we only wanted a company that had the credentials and experience for flat roofing systems. Any Joe schmoe can do shingles, but it takes training to do a flat roof correctly. With that said, NuHome has the credentials and came in literally thousands less than their competition. Their salesperson was great, everybody was very responsive, and the workmanship looks good. We've had significant rain in the last couple weeks and no leaks, so they did something right. All in all, a 5 star company! read more

My roof was over 20 years old and started leaking. I needed a high quality roof replacement and I needed it fast. I went with NuHome because their reviews were outstanding; and my experience was nothing short of awesome. The installation crew was very professional and finished faster than I expected, all my phone calls were answered by a real person, and NuHome's project consultant (Casey) kept me well informed during the entire process. Additionally, NuHome's technicians came back to my house a month after installation to answer some questions I had about the gutters and attic insulation; talk about customer service! I'm looking into replacing my front door and storm door next year and I'm definitely going with NuHome! read more

We could not be more than happy with the services that NuHome Exteriors provided! After a summer storm left some damage on our home, we had to replace our entire roof and siding (we got new gutters too). The project manager that worked on our home, Kelly, was super knowledgeable, responsive, and provided a lot of details to our home (which is a new homeowners dream!) His team was incredibly professional and dedicated to getting the job done correctly, they cleaned up after every day on the job too. Their pricing was also very reasonable. The NuHome Exterior team was super from start to finish. Setting up my free estimate appointment was quick and simple. I received GREAT customer service from their staff; very convenient call in hours, friendly and answered all of my questions. The sales rep was personable, polite, no hard pressure sales, and he sure knew his products from top to bottom. He quickly demonstrated how smoothly the process was, detailed the potential energy savings, and highlighted options that would meet our budget, maximize savings, and fit in with the curb appeal of our house. They even follow up with a site survey visit was brief and effective. I was surprised that my project was completed in only a day! I received a quote to replace the roof on my house. A person from NuHome came to my house and had every chance to measure. They wrote a quote on a contract. When I signed and returned the contract, I didn't hear anything even though they knew it was coming. We happened upon NuHome at a home show and asked them to come out for an estimate on a roof replacement. They called the day prior to confirm the appointment because they wanted to ensure that both my spouse and I were going to be there. I told them that it would be only me. They said that they would not give me an estimate if it was only me so I cancelled the appointment. The day of the appointment, the rep called me to confirm the appointment and when I told him that I had cancelled the appointment and why, he was very rude and talking over me on the phone. When he finished his comments, he hung up the phone on me. Three days later, I have a signed contract with another company. Too bad, because I see many great reviews for them yelp. Also, their loss, as I am also soliciting bids for siding replacement - they will not get my business. read more

I felt like I was dealing with used car sales men. I asked for a roof estimate. They came to my house and gave me a ridiculously high quote with hand written numbers on a piece of yellow scrap paper with no indication what these numbers were and no inspection of my current roof other than looking at if from the ground. They also told me to install a ridge vent with no soffit vents. Then the person called his "manager" on the spot and told me I was getting a great 25% off deal if I signed right now, promised to allow ads in my yard for a month, and send notices to friends of mine, and he really insisted I sign immediately. I said no and he insisted I sign again and they would match any competitor's price. Again I said no. Nuhome then called me repeatedly and I had a salesperson give me a lower quote without me asking. I then had another company that has extremely high ratings on Angie's List give me a great quote with better shingles, ridge vent, and soffit vents that easily beat Nuhomes 3rd quote by a healthy amount. In addition, the quoter got on the roof and inspected in the attic as well. I called Nuhome to discuss the quote. Eventhough they said they would beat another quote, they never responded when I brought it up. Nuhome then called yet again. I explained the quote I got and my concern with lack of soffit vents in thier quote and lower quality shingles. The lady on the phone was concerned why they would install a ridge vent with no soffit vents. That cemented my opinion that choosing the other company was a no brainer and signed the other company's quote that day. If you like to haggle, all power to you. They may do good work, but I would rather not feel like I bought a used car from salesman clearly more concerned about ripping you off. My friend used Nuhome for a roof and was happy with them. They gave him a quote much less than what they gave me. I told them a friend referred them so you would think I would know what they paid. Not sure why they would play around like this and not worth the time when there are other highly rated companies out there that give you a fair price out the gate. read more
