I got a drink here after a work event in the hotel. They had a special for $6 pints, so I got a Guinness. It was rather dark in there, but the seating was ample and comfortable. Service was amazing *pro tip if you go down and order your food vice use room service you pay at least $15 less for your meal. They will accommodate just about all of your needs at the restaurant, even if you have some food that you brought in from outside they will heat it up for you. The drinks are quite tasty and pack a punch they have live music in the lobby M-F and there is always some flight crew staying at this hotel so you can meet many international travelers and have some great conversations. read more

This review based on the breakfast buffet. Overall not worth the $22 (Dec '23) price. Yes, I know it's a hotel restaurant but I've had better quality at the free breakfast from Hampton Inn. My french toast was rock hard. You shouldn't have to saw through french toast. Eggs with cheese/onions/red peppers were bland. Thankfully they had hot sauce. Ok variety of breakfast foods; 2 types of scrambled eggs, oatmeal, french toast, fruits, cheese and salami, assorted breads/croissant, etc. Service when in the dinner room was attentive and friendly. Issue was there were many times all of the waitresses were away in the back. Very doubtful that I'll eat here again. read more

Terrible service. I went there for a Profs and Pints event and was looking forward to having a nice meal with the program. None of the beers that were on the menu were available. Ordered a salad. My 2nd time here this month for a 2nd Profs and Pints event. Prior event: delightful ambience - management made sure TVs were off and discouraged rowdiness at the bar. Drinks and food arrived speedily. Tonight: pretty awful. Loud, boisterous bar crowd, loud TV despite a sell-out crowd for the lecture. Couldn't hear the lecture and when I asked the restaurant staff they couldn't amplify the speaker's audio. Took one hour for an appetizer pretzel to arrive and then it was wrong. The food was good, but you need to get a real nacho cheese sauce for your nachos. I really wanted to like the nachos but I just didn't. The guacamole was good, the diced tomatoes were good but they were so few of them it didn't pay. Pay. The cheese sauce was just blah and it was just not melted on. It was just there. Now. The burger that I ordered was definitely on point. I ordered the burger that had guacamole and pickled jalapenos, cheese, lettuce, and tomato. It was so incredibly good. It was very messy but it was good and the fries went well with it. I would definitely go and get the burgers again but definitely not the nachos. I was at a happy hour and the service was good in terms of ordering at the bar and receiving our food quickly but not in terms of being able to flag down the server to get more water. I had to go back to the bar in order to get another water. I attend this happy hour about once a month so I will try again the next time but probably not with the nachos unless I see others getting nachos that look a lot better than we had this time. A good place to get some food during happy hour and a great place to get drinks. The space is nice and the bar is nice and they readily have sports games like baseball so that I can keep an eye on my team. I recommend giving this place a try. read more

You'd think if they charge $10.95 for continental breakfast and $18.95 for the breakfast buffet, the food would be half-way decent. But no. No, no, no, no, no. Why? First-- the eggs. The #1 breakfast food people desire when they wake up first thing in the morning. The eggs are not even real eggs. They are the cheap, Mickey D's yellow Styrofoam textured eggs. And some portions were not fully cooked or too watery/run-down. Second-- The smoked salmon. Wayyyyyyy too salty. Three-- The bf accidentally tips on his bill that already had tip included and they failed to let us know and takes his money anyways. Horrible. Skip the breakfast downstairs after your stay in the Hyatt and just go get breakfast on your own. Trust me. read more

The eggs are terrible. And for damn near $18 not including gratuity, I expected actual eggs. There is a good selection though: bacon, runny raw fake egg product, sausage, pancakes/french toast, fruit, cereal, & danishes. For that price though,there should've been live entertainment, candlelight, and someone to spoon feed me every bite. And mimosas. If the buffet isn't included in your room rate, it's definitely not worth the price. Mine was, hence the 3 stars. -2 for eggs that made me die a bit on the inside. I haven't checked out the lunch or dinner menus, but if breakfast was that overpriced, might be all downhill from there. I love this place. The asado is perfectly cooked and cut every time. The pork belly is also a great combination with the asado. Im not as big a fan of the chorizo, but that is mostly because it's generally not my preferred way to consume meat. They are always friendly and efficient. Their estimates on how long your order will take are always on point. Seating can be tough during peak lunch or dinner hours but there is a fairly quick turnover. The only downside is that it is not cheap enough to eat on a daily basis, but for food this good it's more than worth the price! read more

I just came from taking my 13 year old out to dinner. When I entered, I was greeted.and told to sit anywhere. My daughter asked if we could sit at the couches so I asked the man behind the bar if it was ok. I was told it was ok but that if I wasn't staying at the hotel, then I would need to leave my credit card with him until after we ate so he could open up a check. Wait? What? I did but still, this made me feel really bad, like he didn't trust me to not skip out on the check. I asked him to hide my credit card and not to keep it out the open. I mean, how do I trust that someone won't steal my credit card number? We were not sitting far from the bar and there was hardly anyone in the restaurant, so it's not like we were out of his line of sight. But wtf, I have never been asked to do this at any restaurant. Right after we left, I called and asked for the General Manager so I could complain and was told there was no GM on duty and the closest thing would be the front desk supervisor but she'd be out on break for the next half hour. Now, onto the food... the food was tasty but too much so (MSG). We ordered the NY strip steak, organic chicken, and crabcakes. The food was.extremely salty too. Meh. The cheesecake was the best thing they had and the atmosphere was pleasant, besides being treated like a criminal. read more

Not only did they make forever just to get a seat when there was plenty of empty tables but then while I was getting food, the waitress gave away my table so there was a couple sitting when I came back to eat! The waitresses didn't even apologize and just smirked. I felt uncomfortable the whole time. Also the food quality was awful...bacon was over cooked, scrambled eggs tasted like powder and not very much options. I regret even waking up for this. read more

We had two meals at this restaurant inside the Hyatt, and will review each meal here. First, breakfast... I love the concept of buffets. I have a big appetite, and "all you can eat" always pleases me. However, I have been greatly disappointed by so many in my life. Originally, we were going to just order off the regular breakfast menu, but our waitress pointed out that the omelets that we were about to order were included if we opted for the buffet instead. As I also had wanted some fruit as well, it was obviously a better deal price-wise. We decided to get the buffet, and while it wasn't as good of a breakfast as we could have gotten at a diner back home, it was still pretty solid. After we gave the waitress our egg orders (tomato/ham/mozzarella for him, peppers/onions for me), we hit up the bar. They had lovely red-skinned potatoes with herbs that I found quite tasty - not at all mealy or dry, a great accomplishment considering they were sitting on a sterno tray for a while. We also grabbed some bacon, sausages, and pancakes while we were at it. I was actually quite surprised at how good the sausages were. They were lightly browned and had a lot of flavor without being greasy. We also got some of the fresh fruit and a croissant. We were just finishing those up when our waitress, Rosa, came back with our eggs. I'll be honest, the omelets were good but not the best we've ever had, but it was probably more a matter of preference. I usually like my omelets a little bit browned, while these were not. They were actually cooked that they were just solid so as not to be over-cooked and chewy - probably closer to the "proper" way to cook omelets. At $17 per person, some people might balk. However, if you've eaten at hotel restaurants before (especially in the NE), that's like a drop in the bucket. Especially because the food was really good. If I hadn't enjoyed it, I would probably complain it was too expensive too, just so I could have something else (unfounded) to gripe about. Now, on to lunch! We got a late start our last morning at the Hyatt, so once we checked out of our room, we figured we'd give the lunch menu at NoVa a try. We really were not disappointed at all. I started with a cup of their tomato soup that also included a little grilled cheese sandwich (a steal at 4 bucks!) and the farmers salad as my entree, my fiance went straight for the chicken sandwich and split my soup with me. I think I've mentioned it before, but I'm from New Jersey. For anyone unaware, that means I know full well what a tomato is supposed to taste like and am not shy about voicing my opinions of tomatoes from other places. The tomatoes they used in the soup at NoVa were great. The soup had great body to it, not too light but not too chunky, and a really super fresh taste. My fiance and I agreed that this was what tomato soup is supposed to taste like. Herby, sweet, savory and tart all at the same time. The little sandwich they included with the soup was also very delicious. I can't remember what kind of cheese they said they used, but it was a great choice and paired well with the soup. Making it with toasted slices from a baguette helped the sandwich hold up against the soup very well. My fiance's chicken sandwich was quite tasty. I really appreciated that they didn't let the chicken get dry. They grilled it so that it was fully cooked but not a moment past that. The bacon was flavorful and crispy, so it contrasted nicely against the beautiful soft roll. My salad had lots of really great touches like pumpkin seeds and cranberries that complimented the carrots, cucumbers, and field greens quite nicely. The price was right here, too. With our meals and drinks, the total came to a few cents over $30 - pretty much what we expected to pay for a meal. Look, NoVa Bar & Grill is no high-end, gourmet eatery. It's a suburban hotel restaurant, and a damn good one at that. If you're looking for a place to see and be seen, this isn't it. Nor is it ever going to win a Michelin star. However, what will happen here is the great staff will try their hardest to make sure you have a wonderful dining experience with tasty food and pleasant service. read more

Tried the bar/lounge because it was late. Selection was minimal but the food was good. Crab cakes appetizer was good. The steak was rather small but cooked fine and tasted good too. Be very careful ordering wine by the glass here. Either there was a lack of knowledge or a fast one was being pulled. Bartender Brian tried to poor cheaper almost empty old bottle and then mix it with another brand, neither of which were the higher priced cab I ordered. Played air headed to a point but I quickly felt like a trick was being pulled and maybe this was standard practice. Check the label and watch the pour. Or just have a beer. Breakfast was pricey for what was given. A lot of selection but just mediocre. Do not know just what those eggs were but it sure did not seem like anything I had scrambled before. The wine thing turned me off. Was about to eat there again tonight but the same bartender was serving so I went elsewhere. read more

Was traveling for work and stayed at the Hyatt Regency Fairfax for two nights. Visited the bar area on two occasions. The table service is definitely better than sitting at the bar. Lillian walked past me for 10 mins and didn't acknowledge my presence. I finally flagged down the server working the tables to take my order. I got a free drink at the bar with my room stay. My co-workers and I stopped down for a drink. The bartender accepted the drink ticket but charged me later. I asked about the ticket but was told " I didn't give him a drink volcher". The price of everything is high here. I will say the rooms are very clean at the Hyatt. read more

I went here for breakfast today and was very impressed with the experience. The breakfast was from 7 AM to 2 PM and about $18. At first glance it didn't seem like they had a lot of items, but they did. It consisted of the basic breakfast items. The service was very friendly. I will be coming back again and again. read more

I stay at the Fair Lakes Hyatt a few times per year and am pleased at the food offered in their bar/restaurant. Everything I have had is very good. I also enjoy the breakfast buffet. A good selection of quality items. read more

Very good. Birthday party for grand daughter enjoyed it very much. Food was prepared just right and taste was excellent.
