I reluctantly called them to inquire about the ad i saw for the M3. Masood over at NSA took it upon himself to text me from his personal cell phone throughout the day and sent me every single request (from specific pictures and video) about the car i had requested for. They also gave me an estimate of what they would give me for my trade, based on pictures i had sent them. They ended up giving me more than any other dealer i had spoken to, to be able to put on top of my down payment---and guaranteed me the offer was good and i wouldnt need to be skeptical. The next day when I made the trip from LA, the car was sitting there waiting for me---and immediately fell in love. Took her for a spin and that sealed the deal. Had a pleasant experience purchasing a used Audi S4 from North State Auto. I was a bit worried about the quality of the cars when I saw some of the other reviews here, and was skeptical when I drove out to check out this car that mysteriously went down in price. When I got to the dealer, the lot was smaller than I was expecting, but the interior felt very upscale. I was greeted by Masood, who I had previously had an email and phone conversation with. He got the car for me, and was incredibly friendly and professional. We went inside to talk business; I asked about warranty information and what they'd value my car at. They gave me all the details and I was happy with what I heard. They offered less than what CarMax offered me, and when telling them this, they said I could always trade it in there and come back for the Audi. When we went into details regarding financing, and the possibility of trading in my car, Masood helped fight for me to get me close to what I wanted for my car. I ended up signing the papers with David, who was extremely helpful in explaining the paperwork, along with further explaining the process after the sale when I emailed him a few weeks later. I had a really great experience purchasing my Audi here. I mentioned my interest through one of their listings on another site and was immediately contacted by Regina, who was extremely helpful throughout the whole process. After taking the trip to Walnut Creek, from San Francisco, I was greeted by Chris who was well informed on the car I was looking at and reassured me that everything was up to standard and the dealership had taken extra care to ensure the quality of the vehicle. As this was my first used car purchase, I wanted a PPI for the peace of mind, after reading multiple horror stories online. Both Regina & Chris were extremely accommodating and offered help and advice during the inspection process. After the local inspection, the results were excellent, there were no issues with the car aside from a minor issue with the AC sensor. Save your money and credit score and go elsewhere! Their finance manager, David, had gone over my credit score and informed me I was a Tier 1 customer and so they could definitely work on a deal with me, especially with a hefty down payment of $5K. After a few, back-and-forth phone calls, he asked if I could come up on the down an extra $1K for a total of $6K, so I agreed. My budget was $700.00 MAX on the monthly payment, especially since I had the insurance payment to consider. He said that was totally fine and he'd be able to get me approved...this was Friday, late afternoon, 9-14-18. Saturday morning, I get a text from him saying that the owner, Tim, would be in the office that morning and to come on down to work on the final deal. I was approved and now it was just a matter of negotiating the price, but that my payment could be met. I was interested in the 2013 Porsche 911 that has now been sitting on their lot for 53 days (according to CarGurus); [and will probably continue to do so]. I had previously test drove the vehicle with Mike 2 weeks prior, so I already knew what the vehicle was like, but just wanted my fiance to experience it. We get back from the test drive and I notice that the car had a burnt oil smell, as did she, and I mentioned it to Mike, but he said it was nothing to worry about and that the vehicle had been looked over by their mechanics and besides, all of their vehicles come with a 90 day/3000 mile powertrain only warranty. Hmm...I let it slide and then went in to meet with the boss, Tim. He starts his spiel with the whole Porsche driving experience and I honestly tuned out most of what he was saying and waited for the right time to politely cut to the chase. He informs me that given my now Tier 2 credit score, the best he could do on the vehicle was $756.00 per month with a now, down payment of $7K! I let him know what David had told me and why was it that now that I'm there in person, the amount changed??? For $56 less dollars a month, they lost an already qualified customer with a more than decent down payment, and I'm sure they probably weren't too worried about it because they had another couple there wanting to see this same vehicle. I continued my search and found a similar car for thousands less than what they're asking, meanwhile the 2013 Porsche 911 still sits on their lot. My advice: Save your time and money and go elsewhere. I was really hoping this would be a good experience, but turned out to be the contrary. read more

I typically don't trust used car salesmen. It took me six months to find my last car I bought, and i put that guy through the ringer. It was worth it, my car got me through everything. That was my baby. I only gave her up cause she was totaled by someone who apparently can't drive next to parked cars. Im a stickler about cars. So pay attention to what im writing. This time, I had my other half rushing the sale through which only frustrated me even more. They were closing and I didn't get a chance to do half of what I wanted to. Tim saw how skeptical and worried I was. Of course he comforted any questions I had, he's a salesmen. But I got to give it to them, I can tell they care about their customers. He told me to bring the car back and they would answer any questions. This gave me time to check the car out. I noticed something was wrong with my visor, so I addressed it to Chris. I expressed I wasn't really concerned about it at the time but a couple of weeks past and the vanity light stopped working. I came back and told Tim. Pay attention, this was two different people I was speaking to about the issue. Due to MY inconsistent schedule it took some time but It was fixed. They called me about my registration, apologized and told me I had to bring my car in. I went to get my car smogged, there was some miscommunication and they asked me how was i paying for it. I called Tim, and it was taken care of it. No going back and forth. Initially when I bought the car, Chris told me something about my oil change. At the time, I was half way listening. When it came time for it to be done, I brought it up to Chris. I was being honest but I had minimal information on what he told me cause I wasn't paying attention. I dropped off the car to the service department (unfortunately I don't know the gentleman's name but he is always nice and answers any questions I have) and it was taken care of. Again, No going back and forth. Overall, any questions I have asked, Tim has promptly addressed. Any concerns I have had, Chris has followed through. Service department is always cool. Any phone calls I receive from their staff is always pleasant. I bought a car, unfortunately when dealing with cars you don't know when its going to have issues. I focus on how those issues are resolved. Of course im still observing North state Auto, but I'm happy I bought my car from them. I would definitely recommend them! read more

I drove out to Walnut Creek to take a look at a 2009 Audi S5. I have been casually looking for a car for a few months and have seen that they've had this car for a few months listed on various websites. I am now ready to buy so I decided to check it out. The ad described the car as in perfect condition. I arrive and start walking around the car. The rear bumper had numerous scratches and scuffs on it. The left rear quarter panel had a deep 6" long scratch that had been (poorly) touched up. The front right quarter panel had a dime-sized dent in it. Despite all of this, I decided I should at least drive it because if I really loved the car, these things could be worked out. I get approached by someone who just says "Yeah, what's up?" I ask if I can take a look at the interior of the Audi S5. He opens up the car for me and the interior seems fairly clean. I ask if I can test drive it. He said that this car was part of their "high performance" collection and that they'd have to run my credit before they would allow for a test drive. Keep in mind that this car is not the fastest nor is it even close to the most expensive car on the lot. I let him know that I would not require financing through them and do not want my credit being run because every run lowers my score. I also told him that I was not going to consider buying a car that I wasn't allowed to test drive. He just shrugged and said "sorry bro!" Overall, this was a huge waste of time for what turned out to be a car that was not "perfect" as described in the ad. I have always been suspicious of 3rd party dealers and now I have an experience to back up my suspicion. read more

Had been looking for a clean black/black 3 series BMW Sport Wagon. We saw online that they had one, and cruised over to take a look. It was immaculate, and priced right. They let me and my wife take it for a test drive -- alone -- without hassling us with drivers licenses, etc. They were not pushy at all, and the sale went down smoothly. The other good thing about them is that they have a "full service" facility to service your car, and that makes it easy if anything needs repairing within the first 90 days. They are also able to honor an extended warranty if you have one. All the cars on their lot are primo, and the sales guys are really nice and easy to deal with -- not at all pushy. They know their cars are clean and well priced, and will sell quickly if you don't buy it. I only rated them 4 stars, since it hasn't been long enough to see how the car hold up. read more

It's no wonder these guys are rated 5 stars, they truly are the best! After being told at a local BMW dealership that I had no chance whatsoever of finding an extremely rare 335xi coupe with a unique color combination, I pretty much gave up the search for a couple of years. Then, quite randomly, I stumbled across the exact car I had been looking for for years on Craigslist through North State Auto and at a very reasonable price. I instantly called them and told them to hold the car for me and that, if everything was in good order, I would take ownership the next day. Here's where they actually shine the most, aside from the insane selection of exotic cars, in their customer service. I was greeted warmly, treated extremely fairly and with the utmost respect, and was granted numerous requests before I took ownership of the car. They worked with my, at the time, not so stellar credit and got me an unbelievable payment for my absolute dream car. Of note, Tim Bunyad is one of the most upstanding business men I have met in any negotiation, though "negotiation" may not be the best word as it felt as though I was talking cars and signing paperwork with good friends. As it turns out, I will be leaving the country for an extended period of time and have to sell my beloved car. I was going to try and sell it myself but I thought, "What the hell, let me go see Tim", against most of my friend's advice, "A broker will give you nothing for it! So I went here just looking at a BMW X3 this past weekend. It was on my walk around the neighborhood and I keep an eye on the new cars that come through the lots here (usually just to look). Well the sales guys who approached me was laid back let me ask a bunch of questions, hop in the car with my dog and just really check it out. He was honest when I asked him things he didn't know and even some things we found out together while looking through the features (they had literally received the car that morning on the lot). I told him I would think about the car and come back in the afternoon for a test drive (again no real intention of buying the car). He said sure and to swing on by (absolutely no pressure). I came back like I said and took it for a drive, it was exactly what he said it was, I even expressed interest in other cars and he gave me an honest plus and minus on all of them. Well the price was right, the finance guys here were amazing, they took my trade in for a great price and got me a great APR. When they told me what they could do I honestly had to tell them there was no reason for me not to do it. They literally addressed any and every concern I would have in a very straight forward no pressure way. I actually asked them if this was really it? Could it just be that easy?
