It was good experience consigning my car through Nohr's Auto Brokers. They know the auto market very well. I called up, and Pat Nohr asked a few questions and gave me a price estimate. I drove the car in, and Molly Nohr took a look, which validated Pat's estimate, and told me how soon I can expect to sell the car. And that's what happened as predicted. There are other alternatives, but it's either a big hassle (selling on your own), or you won't get as much trading in at dealers. If you have the time to put it up for sale (especially if it's not your primary vehicle), then consigning is the way to go. If you need to sell it immediately, Nohr's Auto Brokers can buy it from you, but they actually discouraged that, and recommended getting a bit more for it by consigning it and waiting a bit. They tend to carry sport cars like Porsche, but the range of cars is quite broad, so they attract many types of customers, not just those shopping for sports or "fun" cars. read more

I spoke to Molly first and she was very courteous, then spoke to Pat the next day. This is my first time buying a used car and also a first time customer of Nohr's but both Pat and Molly made things simple. Paperwork was sent over quickly (i live pretty far from them) and we got the deal done within a few days. They do get busy and there's not that many people working there, so do try to understand but i didn't have any communications issue. Pat and Molly were honest as well. Bought a consignment vehicle here in 2018. Please bring your own trusted auto mechanic. Inspection of car was done by a mechanic shop Nohr's often use. The mechanic shop whom I spoke to said the inspection of vehicle was fine. A month after sale, over $7000 was spent to fix an oil leak. At the point of sale, it was explained smoke coming from engine was from a recent replacement of water pump and "the smoke will go away over time -- the vehicle is fine." Pat is a great guy. If your worried about your reputation screaming at someone for their opinion is a horrible look. 47 years in business you should have more class and respect for humans. Ok, so lets unpack the owners response a bit to my review. First, each of us will have your opinion. I have and will continue to present data and as best of "facts" from that data available. My feelings are irrelevant. You the reader will have to decide based on my statements and his whether or not you make the drive to this dealer and buy a car. As nice as the car in question is appearance and option wise, like any used car it has imperfections. Some as a buyer you have to accept and be reasonable but others can be costly to overlook, you decide. I believe I saved myself a potential headache and at least 1500-2000 in immediate costs to correct known issues. It could have been worked out over 250.00 but, the dealer decided he would rather hold the car for the buyer that may come than the deal in hand. You be the judge and take that information to heart before buying from Pat. Lets review the allegations/statements: 1. I never asked for a "discount". This is not a restaurant and I am not eating off the senior menu here. I asked if he was negotiable on the price which he indicated he felt it was priced fairly but, was open to reasonable negotiation. I misjudged that a bit, he is not that negotiable but, we could all make that mistake. If you are looking to pay the asking price at a dealer, you will be fine at this dealer and many others who offer the no haggle price. If you are buying a car with reliability so strong you are comfortable, don't get an inspection and save the money. A Lexus is a Toyota at its core and they run forever. A Porsche from 1998 to 2008 has a few areas one must watch for. Do the research on the IMS/RMS and you make the call as misjudging this is very costly. 2. There are many service records on the car and the car appears in good condition. The PPI done by his recommended shop indicated some items of concern. If a buyer asks that based on those items (Tires age and Oil leak at bell housing) are they wrong? 3. In respect to his tires response, I urge you to research this yourself by calling your local tire store. Age of tires is not based on when installed but when manufactured. Many tire stores will not fix or service tires over 5 years as they have become hard and present a safety issue. If this was a sedan being used as a commuter, that may not be an issue to your but a sports car relies on good tires and puts those tires to their limit. These are 4 years old and the inspection indicated cracking providing a picture as an example as to why they deserve to be part of the negotiation. 4. Dealer indicates they were discounting the car 1000 dollars (actually 900 dollars as its listed at 24,900 at time of writing) Again, this is not a restaurant, it's a negotiation so its subjective. He indicated he had many internet prospects on the car who may come get it soon (when I was there). Car is still for sale at the time of writing. A sellers price is not the value of a car and neither is a buyers offer. Value is what a willing buyer and seller agree to and I offered 23,500. We in the end off by about 250.00 so the value of the car is 23,750 to 24k apparently...not his asking price (he claims its a good deal because CarGuru's algorithm says it is). He can hold the vehicle as long as he wants, that's his choice as it's his but don't claim its worth X when nobody has paid that price or even offered what I did. 5. Despite his statement I did not, I absolutely DID offer to split the difference we were off. Maybe he didn't hear me, maybe he didn't want to hear it as he is quite firm he is right at 24.9k even if nobody buys it at that price. He does not have to sell the car to me or anybody but that statement is 100% inaccurate. He never offered to meet me in the middle (250.00)...not on 4/9 when I was there and not on 4/18 when I called. 6. Lastly to the statement of blackmail. Is this how a professional business owner speaks to others when a deal or transaction doesn't work out? Accuse your customer of blackmail for leaving a review that is not 5 stars? I walked on this deal Saturday after he rejected to meet me 1/2 way. The car posed enough risk and red-flags to do so. Blackmail implies I want something to change my review or would pull my review if he came down 250.00. My integrity is worth a lot more than 250.00. Its a nice car but, hard pass on it and the dealer. Overall, nobody won here its business and is what it is. I have made every effort to address his statements and be objective and you the reader must decide on your own what you think. If you message me, I will send you the PPI and my data and you make the call on this car (if its still for sale). Ask yourself this...if a dealer rejects an independent inspection's results because they don't like the feedback and rejects value guides and then tosses a deal only to hold onto the car over 250.00 do they really want to sell the car? If in that situation I suggest you walk as I did. There are plenty of fish in the sea. read more

As far as car dealerships go, this dealership was far and away the most professional and legitimate with which I have ever dealt and I have had dealings with many over the years, be it either personal or professional when I was working in the industry. I didn't know what to expect by going here, but what I received was a tremendous surprise. Nohr's seems to specialize in the more upscale auto (Audi, BMW, Mercedes) with a few mid-range to choose from. By standards, the selection is very small (maybe 20 cars?) but the quality is obvious. My wife and I wondered in after many days of being frustrated at car showrooms. The head guy, Patrick, came round and asked if we wanted to see anything. We asked to sit in several of the models and his friendly helper offered to shuffle cars around so we could test drive. (this place is VERY small) No hassle, no ride along..nothing. We selected a car and asked to take it into a local dealership for a check up. A quick Google check on he cell confirmed what the sticker said, 'Well below Blue Book'. Patrick handed us the keys and said 'Sure, take it now and see if you like it'. Stunned, my wife and I took the car home for the afternoon and fell in love with it (a 2005 SAAB 93). We came back the next afternoon, briefly haggled the price down a bit and left with an amazing deal and the need to tell everyone about this place. It's been 5 months since we bought the car.
