I sold my car to Autolet (Ben), and it was a very satisfying experience. As is generally known, dealers run dealership stores, which come with expenses to operate. However, Autolet operates on-demand car selling/buying, which means they don't maintain a large store to keep cars in stock. Instead, they store the cars elsewhere and make appointments to show or see the cars at their office. In my case, I used KBB (Kelly Blue Book) ICO (Instant Cash Offer) and visited about 6 different dealers in town to redeem the offer. When I visited Autolet's office on El Camino without an appointment, expecting a regular dealer shop, I had a hard time finding the office as it's located on the 2nd floor of the flooring store. Tip: It's difficult to spot the sign, so just look for the flooring store and use their parking lot. I reached out to them via phone and scheduled an appointment for 2 days later. Perception vs. Reality. We had a 2011 Porsche Panamera to sell, the car is good condition for 102,000 miles so I wasn't sure which avenue to go to sell the car. What I know is I don't want strangers coming to my home, I don't want to be giving test drives, and I don't want to deal with any Buyer finance issues. So my perception was to go to the BIGGEST to get the BEST price, however that turned out not to be the case. I went to CARMAX in Colma, and although they were professional and courteous they missed some key items on the car so it booked out for less. After getting their quote I decided to do some homework online. If you have a used car to sell I HIGHLY recommend going through KBB.Com. They are the ones that have the secret formula for how cars are rated and priced. I put in our vehicles specs and it took less than 5 minutes and amazingly within 5 minutes, I got offers from at least 6 Bay Area car brokers and dealers and even one from Anaheim. Be careful here because some will first ask what you want and then may even try to offer you a higher amount so that you won't sell to another buyer. But then they do a comprehensive walkaround and start deducting from their initial offer. Yet they know you are tired of selling the car and most likely will cave into their lower offer. This is NOT the case with AutoLetGo and Robert. I didn't know Robert from Adam, but he was super efficient, honest, and reasonable. And in the car business integrity goes a long way.
