We had such an amazing experience purchasing a car from John. Yelp does not disappoint with all the other 5 star reviews he has. First off, we did a ton of communication thru text beforehand, where he sent me CarFax records, and answered all questions. His price for the car was really really good. We had done our research, so we knew that the price he was offering was great. The reason is because he cuts out the middle man, and it's "direct sales", hence the name! I got a Prius Plug-in from John and it was great purchase. I worked at a dealerships most of my life, so I have friends in most of the dealers around the Bay Area and whenever I want to buy a car I just go to one of those friends and buy the car I want for the best deal in town. Buying a car from John is my first real dealer interaction and it was great for the following reasons: 1- He hand pick his cars, the best you can find, really the best. I usually dread the used-car buying process but John turned it into an utterly pleasant and professional experience. One of his Craigslist ads caught my attention featuring the exact car I wanted at a great price. When I called, John was very helpful offering information beyond the ad description. He also agreed to hold the car for me with a reasonable and refundable deposit until I was able to come see it, a few days later. The car was as promised and we quickly finalized the deal. John even offered to take me to the local dealership for some outstanding recalls and agreed to pick the car up once ready. At that point, he helped arrange a very reasonable and responsible shipping option to have the car delivered to me. Best of all, it's now over two years later and the car has been outstanding. I had been car shopping for 4 months, spent hours researching various brands, visiting countless car dealerships, and must have heard the car salesman pitch a dozen times. My family always told me to go through the dealerships since they fully inspect the cars and can ensure their condition, but I would have to prepare myself for a battle and at least 2 hours of back and forth negotiation before we even get to the mountains of paperwork. But their prices had become so inflated and since COVID hit, they refused to negotiate - "the price you see is the price you get". So, I was about ready to give up and just settle for the fact that I would have to pay $34k to $36k out the door for the car I wanted. Then, I came across John's ad in Craigslist. The car he was offering wasn't what I wanted, so John kept looking for me and didn't stop until he found exactly what I was looking for. His deal on a 2017 Lexus looked too good to be true...an RX 350, nebula grey exterior, light interior, premium package, with only 26k miles for $30k out the door?!?! Ok, what's wrong with it? I met John at his office and he was easy to talk to, didn't pressure me, very clear and transparent, organized, and welcomed me to test the vehicle and run it through a dealership inspection if I wanted. In the end, the car was perfect, the paperwork was simple and took a max of 35 minutes to complete. I've owned the car for about 5 months now, she still runs GREAT, NO problems, and just had it in for service at the Sacramento Lexus Dealership for it's 30k mile tune-up and the multi-point inspection came back CLEAN!
