Well, today was the day, and we had high expectations based on the photos and other Yelp reviews that we saw before dinner. It, unfortunately, did not live up to our expectations. The outdoor seating area is nice, and the entire restaurant gives off an upscale Primanti's vibe. We ordered the Pabst burger, Fried chicken sandwich, buffalo wings, and kids' chicken tenders. The French fries ended up being the favorite part of our meals. Everything else was so-so. Warning on the wings... They came out incredibly hot. I ate everything else in my meal and came back to them, but they were still almost too hot to eat. The service was solid, and the food came to our table quickly. I understand that "Tap House" is directly in the restaurant's name, but the patrons at the table next to us were enjoying Happy Hour heavily, and their conversation, during our time there, eroded into a significant amount of loud cussing. It definitely made me second-guess whether I would go here with my kids again. I think we'll give it another try, and I hope that today was just an off day.

We grabbed the last two seat at the counter and were promptly greeted by the friendly and accommodating staff. You could tell there were a bunch of regulars here. Servers knew their names and their orders (or at least their drinks). If this was closer to where I lived, I could totally see it as a place we would frequent. They have a menu that features both breakfast and lunch (but it was pretty clear where they shine is breakfast items). They have all the staples. Pancakes, eggs, omelets. But they also have creative options like scramble bowls. In addition to their menu, they also have a specials board. I opted to order the Polish scramble that had eggs, pierogi, onions, cheese and polish sausage. It was delicious! My daughter ordered a pancake and an omelet. Portions were large, service was fairly quick (especially considering how busy they were) and most importantly, the food was delicious. If you are in the area (or even if you like making trips to check out wonderful family owned places) this one is definitely worth a visit!

My husband said that the tacos were slightly falling apart, so he ended up eating the pancakes separately from the other ingredients. He would have preferred that the bacon be cooked longer to get crispy. Nevertheless, the ingredients were very fresh and tasty. We would have preferred a slightly stronger flavor to the hummus. Vegetarian sauté - 5 stars - This entree contained eggplant, green peppers, onion, garlic, tomato, and potato, and I greatly enjoyed the flavors. The serving size was so large that I had leftovers for the next day. Chicken kebab - 4 stars - Chicken thighs were marinated and grilled with herbs. The meat was very juicy and cooked well, but my husband wanted a stronger marinade and different sauce. Baklava - 4.5 stars - I received a generous serving size of four pieces. I liked the phyllo dough and nuts. Beverages - 5 stars - We drank bottled water, orange juice, and mango juice.

Jumbo lump crab cake dinner - 4.5 stars - This entree contained one large crab cake that was very meaty and flavorful (5 stars). On the side was asparagus (4.5 stars) and rice (4 stars). Filet mignon - 4.5 stars - My husband ordered this filet mignon twice. The chef cooked the first steak as my husband had requested, but the second steak was slightly overcooked. Nonetheless, he enjoyed the flavors of the steak and the sides of garlic mashed potatoes and green beans with the right amount of butter and pepper. Chilean sea bass - 3.5 stars - The fish was tender and came with pineapple fried rice and Asian slaw. Other important information: The dress code appears to be smart-casual. My husband and I, as well as many other customers, wore jeans. The restaurant charges a convenience fee for using credit cards.
