    Pepperoni roll

Quick stop for pepperoni roll (hubs fav) - good thing since there's no dine-in seating. Long filling roll, not greasy, light bread - pepperoni was bit bland (no punch of flavor). Solid product, esp for touristy area.

Short and sweet review because it was a fast experience. Stopped in as I know a pepperoni roll is a Pittsburgh staple, and I Mancini's had great reviews on Yelp! It's a small bakery and it was crowded when we stopped by on a Saturday early afternoon. They kept the line moving and were handing out samples of a delicious pumpkin roll! Service was fast and friendly. The pepperoni roll was bigger than I expected, and we opted to get some marinara sauce with it. It was hot and delicious!! My husband and I both enjoyed it.

Always a favorite spot when we travel to Pittsburgh! The friendliness staff and most delicious treats!

Smells as good as it tastes! Delicious variety of fresh baked breads! Pepperoni rolls are delicious! Sourdough is my favorite! Don't forget to take in the artwork!

The best bread in Pittsburgh! Fresh from the bakery is amazing but the quality of this bread is consistent even if you buy elsewhere. And how cool is this Snowman!

Ah Mancini's Bread a family tradition! When we would come to visit da Burgh my Uncle John would go up to the McKees Rocks location or this one to get Bread. I remember smelling this bread being toasted and it brought back so many pleasant memories. So while we were recently in town I was gonna just pick some up at Giant Eagle but since we were on The Strip and saw this location I NEEDED TO GO IN. A lot of locals go and outta Townes's as they buy a bunch to take home and freeze for another time. I just picked up some bread, sliced and a small focaccia with cheese. The bread is worth it as is everything else.. that small/mini focaccia was delicious. The salty, herby goodness of this and the hit of that cheese hit the spot. This is carb heaven and worth it.. It's a small location but it has what you need. It's on The Strip parking is catch as catch can or ask locals about it. Go get you some stuff you will be glad you did.

Best breads in the city of Pittsburgh reside here in Mancini's. Highly recommended. Cute bake shop with many options. Smells incredible.

While I was out and about this past weekend in Pittsburgh, I heard the familiar gurgles of an empty tummy. Since it was a weird in-between meals time, I didn't want to grab something super heavy and there were no street meat vendors selling chicken on a stick. In this instance a pepperoni roll is the perfect compromise! If you're not from Western Pennsylvania (or *gag* West Virginia) then you may not know what a pepperoni roll is exactly. This on-the-go snack is like a portable slice of pizza. No fuss and no mess. A ready to go meal that was created in Wheeling, West Virginia. It features a flaky, light dough stuffed with mozzarella cheese and pepperoni. And while WVA may have invented it, Mancini's in Pittsburgh PERFECTED the pepperoni roll. Mancini's is another one of those Pittsburgh staples that locals just can't seem to get enough of. While their original bakery is in McKees Rocks, this smaller bakery gives an authentic taste of their original shop on the streets of the Strip District. It has all the good you'd find in McKees Rocks without the long line. And on warm summer days, you can walk along the sidewalk and get a pepperoni roll on the go! No need to even go in the store. I personally think this is the best pepperoni roll in the region. The pepperoni is always fresh and has great flavor. There is plenty of cheese without being overly gooey. And the bread. Oh Mymancini's it's good. But that's what they've built their name on isn't it? The other thing of note about their pepperoni rolls are the lack of grease. So many other shops drip and are soggy. That's not the case here. Perfectly crisped and no sludge in sight. One thing you may not know about Italians, is that we love bread. Bread in any form. And going into a family bakery is like walking into a candy shop. I always get a rush of adrenaline when I walk into Mancini's because I want to sample ALL of the breads. From focaccia to salt sticks. Rustic loafs to sourdough. Mancini's has it all and each carry treat is just as good as the last. I did end up walking out with a mini cheese focaccia this trip. Goodness I love bread.

I absolutely love their bread and their pepperoni rolls are amazing. We just happened to get there right when a batch came out of the oven and they were perfect. They also sell 8lb bags of bread flour for a super reasonable price. My homemade bread rises so nicely when I use this flour.

I haven't lived in Pittsburgh for 40 years, but to this day my sister and I *still* talk about eating fresh baked bread from Mancini's.

The best bread that I have eaten. I drive an hour to stock up once a month. I highly recommend the Strip location for more variety.

I got their pistachio…read moreeclair, ham and cheese croissant, and almond croissant -- all tasted wonderful and light. The croissants were great when you lightly air fry/toast them if you don't eat them right away. In Lawrenceville, it's a small location with a couple of outdoor seating but none inside. However, it is a chain so you might have one in your little area. My only thing is that the pistachio eclair is very sweet (so if you don't have a sweet tooth, maybe I'd go for another subtler dessert). I saw they have a deal where you can get a baguette, sandwich, and drink for $7. Good deal imo considering the quality of their bread, and it's a good excuse to buy a sweet treat with it!

We picked up a…read morepumpkin tarte and an apple tarte--each meant to serve about six--and both were delicious. The flavors were balanced, the pastry was buttery and delicate, and they looked as good as they tasted. The total came to $50.65, which feels pretty standard for a French bakery once you understand the baseline is a bit higher than your typical American dessert spot. For the quality, it's well worth it. Consistently great, reliably tasty, and perfect for special occasions or whenever you want to treat yourself. The staff is friendly. It's usually busy here and not conducive to eating inside.

They have two cases of their delicious looking pastries, one table of discounted items, and a case serving hot items. Open that case and serve yourself the hot mini quiches and empanadas. Started with a mini quiche and a beef empanada. Hubby liked his quiche. I'm not a fan of olives and they were all over my beef empanada. Will not be getting that one again. The kind young lady behind the case helped us order our very first Burnt Almond Torte. It comes in different sizes and we chose the bar as it easily serves two. She even gave us sporks to eat it with. We really loved the Burnt Almond Torte. The inside has a soft, moist vanilla cake layered with a thin layer of icing and enrobed with more icing and topped with the buttery, crunchy almonds. We will be back for more.

It was around 10 hours before we tried our Burnt Almond Torte...wow! That dessert is something that I will eat again, and again. The toasted almonds were soooo good! They were crunchy, crispy, and perfect. The Bar Cake had a white cake inside and icing on the outside; it was heavily coated in those almonds. The person who assisted was knowledgeable about the items to a point; she did not eat anything in the bakery so it was by observation. Don't care, that Burnt Almond Torte is the real deal!
