Plain and simple. I adore it here. Have been every weekend since opening weekend. These ladies have gotten it right. They have created a darling little spot that makes you feel like you are in your own living room! Complete with repurposed furniture items, local artists' pieces and fun coffee table brain teaser toys Hook up to wifi and do some homework etc. And don't forget to check the crafty green fridge in the corner for some homemade granola and yogurt or homemade rice pudding. Jess & Jenni (& co) make the most outstanding pastries. They resemble items that pop off the pages of food magazines! Which reminds me.... Too cheap like me to subscribe to foodie mags... Wow. I had high expectations coming here from all of these raving reviews, but I was simply blown away by this place. I was always hoping for a nice little coffee shop to open up in Southold, and this year my prayers were answered. The shop is actually a house, in truth. You walk in and are immediately greeted by their furry mascot, a beautiful chocolate lab. The inside is sectioned off into two rooms for you to sit and relax with your coffee. The one on the left contains the bar as well as a large communal table topped with magazines and hydrangeas. The other room has several couches, stacks of old records, and other antique delights. It's one of the nicest coffee shops I've ever been to simply because of its incomprehensible charm and hipster appeal. They really outdid themselves with the decor. It's perfect. Not to mention, their dog is super friendly and will sit with you on the couch as you sip. Aww!!! What's even more perfect though is the coffee, of course. Their flat white was fabulous. I was reading an article in one of the magazines that features the girls of the North Fork Roasting Company. It described their extraordinary commitment to the craft of roasting and brewing the perfect coffee. It was amazing to see how much effort and love went into it all. It's not often when stunning independent coffee shops like this simply pop up out of nowhere, and it was surely a privilege to sample the fruits (or beans, rather) of their labor. I was stopping by before heading to the lavender fields and saw really great reviews. Wanted to say I love it, but it was okay. We ordered two cappuccinos and they both came out really quick at the same time. I'm not a coffee expert but usually when we order, it doesn't come out that quick because they usually make them individually, and there was only one person behind the counter. Also, I order cappuccinos quite often, and this tasted watered down to me. I think they used one expresso shot to make both cups... but I'm not sure. This place offers the best coffee and food! The ambiance both inside and out is incredible! Inside features a cute little coffee bar with multiple menus of the various different coffee they offer. The outdoor dining area had tables socially distant and even a greenhouse for us to eat in! This was such a cute concept and we really enjoyed having our breakfast in here. The vanilla iced latte was incredible and had coffee iced cubes. They even offered multiple different types of flavors and milks. I had the breakfast sandwich and it was good, but the coffee was the highlight of this visit. Looking forward to returning soon! read more

I'm a barista and when I travel I like to stop at cafés. I know I'm not always going to be impressed with the coffee so instead I try to enjoy the experience and novelty. The barista at North Fork was not only welcoming but also made a killer macchiato (the right way). The shop had a great variety of small batch coffee (light roast to darker medium, single origin, and house blends). After trying the espresso and drip coffee I decided to buy two bags of coffee to take home. I look forward to testing them out at home and sharing it with my coworkers at the café I work at. read more

Easily the best coffee on the North Fork. Other places pale in comparison. If good coffee and quaint digs are your thing, don't go anywhere else. This is traditional coffee how it's supposed to be done. Keep in mind that if you like flavored drinks, they don't use syrups, although they have traditionally "sweeter" drinks like chai and tumeric. If I lived nearby, I would be here every day. Seriously. Make sure going here is on your to-do agenda. As an aside, this atmosphere is great for working. Bring your laptop/notebook and sit down for awhile. read more

I had the best breakfast! I ordered an iced caramel latte and it was amazing (even had coffee ice cubes). Always great to have a delicious coffee place. Fresh roasted beans and hand crafted coffees. Nofo roco also has a nice menu of breakfast and lunch items as well as bakery items. Today I saw fresh baked cinnamon rolls. We will see what tomorrow brings. They offer the popular latte, cappuccino and drip coffees and will do a pour over as well. I only have one complaint about this place. Yelp had a check-in discount offer if you bought over $15, and I did, but even though I was told I could get the discount, I did not. Service aside, my drink was delicious here -- called the honeybee or something like that. My brother tried an iced coffee - good! You can buy fresh roasted bagged coffee. They have about 8 kinds you can choose from. Pleasant girls. Walked in and it was super hot, no AC or fans that I could see. We had never been there so I have no idea what their drinks are. The board had a few things but no descriptions. Asked for a menu but it was just food. Asked about coffee drinks and was just told they had cold brew or they can make any coffee hot or iced , but again there was just some pictures on the board with no descriptions and no one seemed particularly interested in describing the drinks or helping us . Wife got "iced hot chocolate" which just tasted like weak chocolate milk and cold brew was "ok". Not worth a revisit for me. To top it off had a 25% off coupon for yelp and they told me " I don't know how to use this coupon " so I wasted it . read more

Stopped here for breakfast en route to a hike at Mashomack Preserve in Shelter Island. My wife and I were looking for a casual but filling breakfast, and this fit the bill perfectly. We're not coffee drinkers, but we enjoyed the tea offerings there (this is always gratifying for me when we go to a coffee place). I had the burrito, and my wife had an egg sandwich served inside waffles, complete with maple syrup. It was a great and reasonably-priced breakfast; we paid around $25 for all of this. The friendly dog who was walking around soliciting pets from the other patrons tied the whole experience together. We are big, big fans, and we will be back. read more

I don't write this review as a friend of the owners, but as an objective lover of all things coffee. And by God, how I love NFRC's coffee. I live in the City, but I call the East End my hometown, so I come out East whenever I can. I came on NFRC's opening day, and it was like walking into a good friend's house - a roaring fire in the corner, good music filled the air, and local acquaintances that I haven't seen in a long, long time. The first thing you notice when you come in is the espresso machine - a beautiful sculpture of metal piping that creates delicious, delicious coffee - and the smell of freshly-roasted beans in the air. The second thing you notice is the fact that Jess' and Jennilee's smiles never, ever falter as they pump out coffee and teas all day, and how they treat every customer as a friend. I first ordered a cappuccino (I stayed there for a few hours), and it came out like a work of art - I almost didn't want to drink it. Usually, after I take a sip of any kind of coffee, I wind up putting in sugar because of the bitterness. Not with this. The first sip was a perfect combination of sweet and bitter, and the creaminess of the steamed milk complemented the espresso perfectly - the mark of a truly skilled barista. No sugar needed - I practically inhaled the cappuccino. NFRC has some of the best coffee around, hands-down. They also make a fantastic hot chocolate (also steamed, so it's just as luxurious as any of their espresso drinks)! If I could give more stars, I would - this place is one of the best, if not THE best, coffee shops on Long Island. read more

Was in town from Austin, TX visiting family on Long Island and was so sad not being able to find a local coffee shop that actually roasts their own beans until I found this! Tasted just like the local roasters back in Austin/San Antonio....absolutely fresh and rich of flavor! Couldn't resist not buying a fresh bag of beans to bring back home in order to make my own with my Toddy! The sleeping dog was a sweet way to welcome you in the shop too! :) hope this place stays open for a long time from now - worth going!! The cutest little independent coffee shop on the North Fork. They have great cold brew and espresso drinks at reasonable prices. I really like the Bee String (espresso + steamed almond milk + honey)- it's just a touch sweet and a perfect way to start the morning. Food options are somewhat limited. The shop is small but cozy inside, and they have a lovely garden area with a beautiful mural painted on the fence by a local artist. But the best part...wait for it...is Sinatra, the friendly labrador that you can find laying on the floor or hanging outside on most days. It's unfortunate there aren't 6 or 15 stars, because this place needs it. They have THE best mocha latte I've ever had. I've also had the plain latte and it's equally as incredible. My wife had the "dirty chai" (which is basically chai tea with a shot of espresso) and her sentiments echo mine. The coffee is so good that I'm comforted at the mere thought of it from writing this review. The fact that they love their business shows in every way possible - from the love of Frank Sinatra (which is shared by my me and my wife) to their cool and lovable dog (named, of course, Sinatra) - you can just tell they are where they want to be. I can't speak highly enough of this place. I'll tell anyone who will listen. Top notch, quality drinks, amaaaazing food and even better service/staff. The dirty chai latte is to die for and the almond croissants are beyond words. The atmosphere is just so cozy, especially in the winter when the fireplace so going. I could spend hours here just hanging out. We drove for almost an hour just to try the nitro cold brew. It didn't disappoint. Their coffee is only matched by their hospitality. Traffic caused us to arrive 15 minutes prior to closing time. Jess and Jenny Lynn not only kept the place open but gave us a tour. They have a knack for making one fell it home. Sinatra, the chocolate lab, helps. Espresso was great and the owners have done an incredible job decorating the interior and exterior of the shop, which is located in an old historic house right on Main St. They also serve light breakfast beyond the usual bagels muffins etc. Check out the outside garden, that often has live music on Sundays. You had me at "coffee ice cubes"! They put coffee cubes in my iced coffee, I really appreciate that extra step and it shows how much they care about the taste and getting it right here. The menu is nice and short so it's not overwhelming but it has anything a coffee lover might hope for. The place is really fun to hang out at too, I love the decor. I picked up a bag of beans recently at The Winemaker Studio and the coffee is delicious homemade as well, though I'd love to come back for some food based on the pictures. read more

North fork roasting is so over the top cute, charming and eco-friendly that you almost want to not like it but they won me over with an inventive menu, delicious coffee and friendly service. We walked in not sure if we had arrived at an antique store, someone's house or a restaurant- but the sever upfront welcomed us in and told us to sit "anywhere". That has a different meaning at North Fork Roasting Company from other typical restaurants. We had our choice of a well-worn couch, side table for two, "comfortable" love seat in the other room or outside picnic table. We opted for the picnic table after we ordered our food with the cashier and waited for it to be delivered to us. A lovely woman (possibly the cook?) brought our food out and we thoroughly enjoyed the smashed avocado with pastrami salmon on toast and the fresh and generously sized acai bowl. Paired with our iced coffees we were satiated and happy. While we were most comfortable sitting outside- the "charm" of sitting on old upholstered furniture has yet to lure me in-- we will definitely come back to try more of the yummy fare. read more

It was my first time here and I just wanted some coffee for my doughnuts. I ordered the 'bee sting' which is espresso, honey, and almond milk. I'm not a fan of espresso by itself but when it's mixed, it's truly worth going for. The bee sting was amazing, the first taste and the last taste all made my tongue taste like honey while the middle notes just tasted like coffee with cream and sugar. It was so good. Even the bees were after the honey, so you know it's good honey! My friend got regular drip coffee - not really a coffee person but he said that the drip coffee was good.
