An update: There are some really excellent coffee shops on Long Island, but there is no shop like this one. Not even close. The coffee is that good. It's one of the few places in the world that the line of customers transcends all boundaries. Billionaires, builders, artists and house painters all in the same line getting their favorite coffee from one of the nicest guys you could ever know. Coffee so good, you won't see the name on the door of a nondescript commercial building in a gravel lot by the train station. I don't get here every day like I used to, so I grab a couple pounds to keep the house stocked. This place is like a favorite shirt for my soul. read more

There is an amazing coffee company and cafe just a stones throw from the Bridgehampton Train Station. Tucked in a corner of a small commercial office park is a non descript signage welcoming you to enter. Once you enter it's nothing but inviting with the air alive fresh roasted beans to the pungent coffee being served to local patrons. I felt like I had stumbled upon a town secret! I was met by Andrew who was back in the day a successful business analyst who retired to follow his passion in all things coffee. I asked for the daily which was a delicious smooth colombian coffee. No need for sugar or milk. I threw in a fresh Apple Cider Doughnut to boot and sat down with come cool locals reading the paper or hanging out enjoying the lounge. Very cool vibe. Great music comfortable chairs and eclectic art adorns the walls. Can't wait to try all the specialty roast the offer and always have on hand the next time I am in town and leave with a pound or two of Moca Java and Sumatra personal favs. Will be a mandatory stop always before boarding the LIRR back to NYC. I came almost everyday for my espresso, the beans are thoroughly sourced from great plantations and his own coffee roasting machine is a great quality sign for the shop and shows the passion from the owner to provide the best quality coffee for his guests. read more

Super nice guy. Freshly roasting in the back room. I wish i had this roasting place close to my house. Old school roasted of all these small batched fresh coffee beans. I had the Honduran but the Peruvian beans was roasted an hour before i got there. Had to buy a bag. Intense aromas with some sweetness. Coffe is packed full of flavor. The coffee is hot and fresh, the owner and help are all friendly, but every time I go in, usually in the morning, 2 older men who go there every day, will literally stop their conversation and give every female the once-over. This happens EVERY TIME. I mean, I can handle being checked out discreetly, as we are all human. But it's SO uncomfortable, their eyes crawling all over you...all I want to do is get out of there ASAP. I know nothing will change as these pervs have patronized the establishment for years. But it's straight up offensive! I hope the owner reads this and has a firm talk with them. read more

An instant Bridgehampton classic. Hidden away in a posh two store strip mall next to the railroad station. So much better and more reasonable than anything else in the Hamptons. And scones better than Latte Larry's. (In fact all the baked goods are curated from different places in NYC and brought out fresh first thing in the morning) A real find. Very cute, bare bones coffee shop located in Bridge. I'm not this far west when I'm in the Hamptons, but we were here for dinner the other afternoon and stayed in the area for dinner, so we had coffee here. The service was friendly and the coffee was really great. Ii had an iced latte and it was smooth and flavorful. Really delicious. read more

Owner is great and all the girls he has working are pleasant and professional. His wife however should not deal with the public. No people skills. Nasty attitude. As for the coffee. A bit miss-advertised as it's all the same bean. So if you prefer decaf your getting regular. Food sitting on top of display box unwrapped. No frills. No stupid names for the coffee. No nonsense. Just ultra-freshly roasted coffee and beans from around the world by the pound. The shop is in a low, brick building near the Bridgehampton train station and a cool ironworks. Dog and kid friendly, plus you'll never see weird sketchbombs hanging out there all day using laptops. Some of the caffeined-up regulars can be a little annoying in the morning after their six cup of mud, but just ignore them; their criminal records are mostly in their minds, anyway. read more

Really good coffee -- the best I've found during my brief time here in the Hamptons. A fun, easygoing vibe, too. The barista told a great story -- yesterday a customer, unhappy with the price of a drink, left a penny for a tip. Turns out to have been a 1941 penny worth $200! This is not a brief for obnoxiously low tipping. My only quibble is that it's not really hangout friendly. I'm a writer and look for cafes where I can hunker down. That's not how Java Nation is laid out, although I did find a stool and table to sit at. Really interesting people and good conversations, though, including a drop-by by a celebrity whose name shall not be mentioned out of respect for him and disdain for a culture that elevates celebrities. Blink and you'll miss it but this coffee roaster is a great place to stop pre or post train ride or just to pick up some coffee by the pound (which they are known for). I had the mocha and it was great and their limited pastry selection was surprising delicious. read more

The only way to get a good coffee is to use beans that have been roasted that week. At Java nation, you are guaranteed freshly roasted beans. They also seem very skilled at selecting and roasting the beans. The espresso is always popping with a robust aroma. And decaf is better than most caffeinated coffees elsewhere. read more

I'm a coffee addict and I know a thing or two about a good espresso. I will not be coming back to this place. My Americano was basically cold, so incredible bland and far from strong enough (especially considering I ordered a double). Thankfully it was only $3.25 (which is why I gave more than one star) but based on the reviews I figured I was in for a treat. Complete disappointment. Granted your choices for good coffee are slim pickins out east but this place does not deserve 5 star reviews. Head down 27 to Hampton coffee or even up to sag for sagtown. read more
