    Ridge line that was not sealed

    If you are looking for a Roofing Contractor who takes accountability for their mistakes and treats you with respect do not go with North Creek Roofing. When North Creek Roofing installed a new roof on my Edmonds home back in 2014, they failed to seal a ridge line. This mistake caused a leak and damage to my upstairs ceiling back in December 2020. After going back and forth with them, they agreed to repair the ceiling. In April 2021 they sent a sheetrock guy to start the work but when it was not an easy fix they backpedaled and now May 2021 they are claiming they are not responsible and will not fix the damages. Please read my detailed review of my horrible experience, I am writing this so other's do not have to go through what I have gone through. On December 21, 2020 there was a horrible leak in my upstairs bedroom. I called Chris Aaenson and two days later he came to my home to inspect. He was on my roof for 5 minutes, at the most, and told me the leak "isn't their fault" the torch down roof is failing (North Creek Roofing does not do torch down roofing.) Chris instructed me to contact a roofing company that does torch down. This was during the holidays and the soonest I could get someone out was January 4, 2021. Saul from Roofmex spent 90 minutes trying to find how water was coming in. He spent a long time on the roof and in the attic and was able to find the entry point. He told me North Creek Roofing failed to seal the ridge line and water was coming through a nail hole under a shingle. Saul told me he could seal the roof line but it would void my warranty. He also told me the torch down roof is good for another 8 years. I let Chris know and sent photos. He was dismissive and argumentative with me over the phone. He disagreed with Roofmex's assessment and wanted their contact info. Despite that he sent over a couple of guys from his crew on January 6th to seal the ridge line (and after that, water stopped leaking through my ceiling.) It was around this time I noticed 3 sections of the ceiling were bulging. It did not look like this prior to the leak. On January 29th they sent their sheetrock repair person to repair the section where it leaked but he told me he would not be able to repair the areas that were drooping. It was around this time I was told by North Creek: *the ceiling defect was always there, I just didn't notice it (that room has been my bedroom for 12 years, I would have noticed) *the contractor who installed the sheet rock in 2004 did a bad job, that is why it looks like that *I'm trying to get a new ceiling out of North Creek Roofing In March I had a sheetrock company that did not work for North Creek Roofing come to look at the damage. Chris was present when Don assessed the damage. Don said it was possible, due to the slope of the roof, that the water leak caused the damage to the ceiling. After going back and forth, they finally agreed to do the repairs and sent their sheetrock guy back on April 12th. Chris accompanied him and apologized for the delays and told me they were going to fix it the damages. Their repair person patched the leak area and began to sand the 3 bulging sections down but in order to make the ceiling flat he would have to take too much of the drywall off. From April 12th to May 14th I was unable to get an answer from Chris. On May 14th I received a phone call from Josh Cameron, North Creek's Sales Manager. Josh told me they are not responsible for the damages, they will not repair the damages and there is no way the water leak could have caused the damages. He implied I was trying to get a "free ceiling" out of North Creek Roofing. He even had the audacity to lie to me and tell me that Don said there was no way the water leak could've caused the bulging damage. I was shaken by the conversation. This has been going on since January. I have been patient and given them every opportunity to do the right thing and fix the damage their mistake caused. All I want is for my ceiling to look the way it did prior to the leak. I didn't want to go down this path but I've written a complaint to the Better Business Bureau and now I have written this Yelp review. I will have it repaired and take them to small claims court. I am very confident a Judge will return a verdict in favor of me, especially since they started to repair the damage. My hopes in writing this is that someone does not have to go through what I went through. Back in 2014 when I was interviewing Roofing Contractors, they were quick to call me back if I had any questions, but beware if you have any issues weeks will go by before you hear from them.

    They are not tied off, which is how they do it everyday. Unsafe work practice. They take all the visitor spots with work trucks while delineating our normal parking. When asked to shut it down at 8pm they were extremely rude. The final product is nice. I do commercial roofing and I could teach my dog how to shingle. All in all go with another company. The customer service and work practice is terrible

Also want to mention Yolanda from customer service, she was awesome. Communication was very timely, clear, and super helpful from the first inquiry all the way to the day of the service. Part of my gutter had fallen off, and both the roof and gutters were in pretty bad shape with a lot of moss. I talked to a few other companies before, and some tried to oversell or make the situation sound worse. This team gave me the most practical suggestions and a very reasonable estimate. No pressure, no upselling, just honest advice. Juan and Mario showed up on time and worked super efficiently. In about three hours, they got everything done perfectly, roof and gutters cleaned, gutters fixed, everything spotless. I really appreciated their work ethic and the way they went above and beyond without me even asking. They cleaned the small shed roof that isn't connected to the house, adjusted other parts of the gutter that needed attention, and left the whole place so clean. Not just the debris from the roof and gutter, they even blew away the storm branches and leaves around the yard. Honestly, driving home and seeing how clean and fresh everything looked made me so happy. I highly recommend All Access Roofing & Gutters, and especially Juan, Mario, and Yolanda. If you want honest people who do excellent work, these are your guys.

    Excellent service, honesty, and professionalism…read more We had a great experience with High Point Gutter, and especially with their service person, Jerrod. Jerrod's work was extremely professional from start to finish. One side of our gutter had some minor damage, and the original contract was to replace that section. After carefully inspecting it, Jerrod told us that a full replacement was not necessary and that he could fix it instead. He contacted the company to update them and ended up saving us about $500. That level of honesty really impressed us. In addition, Jerrod did a very thorough inspection of our roof and checked for any moss-related damage. He helped us apply Moss-B-Ware to protect the roof and noticed that we didn't have enough product to fully cover it. Without hesitation, he used some of his own Moss-B-Ware at no additional charge--both the materials and extra work were completely free. He also took extra time to explain how to properly protect and maintain our roof going forward, which we truly appreciated. He went above and beyond what was expected. Overall, we are VERY happy with Jerrod's service. We will definitely hire High Point Gutter again for our roof next year and in the years to come. Highly recommended! By the way, his service is backed by a 3 years warranty.

    I contacted this company to address a single noisy downspout. I received multiple quotes, and…read moretheirs was by far the highest--more than three times what other companies quoted. They actually provided two separate estimates: one for the noisy downspout and another for a basic cleaning. When I asked why the estimate for the downspout was so high, I received a passive-aggressive text from the estimator, Evan K., saying that I was "not the right fit" for the company, complete with a smiley face emoji. I then attempted to schedule only the basic cleaning (the separate estimate), because the project manager had not indicated that I was not allowed to do so, and I continued to receive automated reminders via text and email. Then, Evan K. followed up with a passive-aggressive email, also complete with a smiley face emoji, continuing the interaction unnecessarily. After that, my number appears to have been blocked, and I was no longer able to reach anyone at the company. Regardless of pricing, this level of communication is extremely unprofessional. Based on this experience alone, I would not recommend this company.

When I finally dig an inspector out, he said there was no issue whatsoever and that I was fine to just clean up some minor water spots on an interior window and do a better job caulking. I finally went for a second opinion, and not only did they find the nails were not galvanized and installed on top of the roof instead of on the side, water had leaked in quite drastically leading to a $3000 repair. This other company literally walked on top of my roof and with her bare hands, picked up the entire tack strip that is supposed to keep things glued down. She couldn't believe the nails that were used and the placement but more so, that this was said to be 'no issue' by a professional. Your guy that came out to investigate literally never even put his hand on it to wiggle it around and see if there was an issue, he just looked - no ladder, just climbed part of my balcony and looked. If I had listened to him and just caulked the interior window so that more water wouldn't have come through, this would've continued and become an absolutely horrific problem. I know customer service agents aren't always a reflection of the company but this gentleman was a 'master installer' his words. I'm not sure what there is more to say, but as a business owner you may want to know. As an aside, I do appreciate that even months later, someone responded to this. I do hope things work out as your company continues to change.

I have a metal roof and gutters with gutter guards. They company that used to do an excellent job on my roof (I'll call them "JB") is a janitorial firm that appears to no longer do roofs. I called AA based on reviews and explained that my roof was quite dirty with pollen and was clear with them it was metal. They said they would come and blow the roof off and see what else could be done. They did NOT come right out and say they could not clean up pollen. They quoted me a price lower than the previous company had been charging, so I scheduled the work about three weeks out. The tech came out late in the afternoon, spent a LOT of time looking around and talking to the office and then told me that they could only blow debris off. To do a wash would take two people a full day and cost around $2,000. Sorry, that's NOT going to happen! I said go ahead and blow the roof off, there was plenty of Douglas fir cones and other debris that needed to come off anyway. The work was fine for what it was, though there's still a mess of pollen up there. I would have preferred that they just say "we don't clean metal roofs because you won't be happy with the results."
