Aza and his team did an amazing job on my new roof! The quality is superior, price is reasonable and communication is great. I'm not a roof expert and needed help so I ran 3 estimates from reputable companies through AI to compare them and his stood out above the others for quality and details about the install. Aza has been doing this for years and you can tell he trains his team personally. They cleaned up debris daily and didn't rush to finish the job. I highly recommend Mountain Goat! read more

Did a great job on our complete tear off and new roof. Professional, good communication, and they finished on schedule

I cannot say enough good things about Mountain Goat Roofing and Aza Cline, the owner. In September, we woke up to a puddle in our bed. Our roof had sprung a leak and we needed to get it fixed before all the "atmospheric rivers" for which Seattle is famous, came rolling in. It turned out it needed to be replaced completely. Aza was recommended to us by a friend who is very hard to please and as soon as we met him, I understood why. Of all the roofers we got bids from, Aza was the ONLY one who ventured all the way into our attic to inspect the water damage. Everyone else just took our word for it. When we asked for a bid for our garage as well, he was the only one who looked closely at it and told us, in detail, what needed to be done to make sure the roof lasted a good long time. Everyone else just measured the square footage and gave us a quote for slapping a roof on top of things that needed to be shored up first. He is also the ONLY roofer who included in his packet, a list of other homes in the area he'd worked on and the specific shingles they chose so that we could drive around and see the shingles we were thinking about on actual houses in actual outdoor light, instead of just looking at a catalog or some samples. CRUCIAL! His bid was competitive with the other companies who didn't do as much. His crew was able to start a day early. They were fast, polite, skilled and cleaned up like they'd never been there in the first place. They went above and beyond. And they finished up and drove away mere seconds before the rains began. Go with Aza and Mountain Goat Roofing. You won't be sorry. read more

I highly recommend Mt Goat and the owner, Aza Cline. They did a great job re-roofing my house. Aza is very professional and experienced, and his crew was friendly and respectful of property. Aza personally assessed what needed to be done to roof (replace a couple warped barge boards) that the other contractors didn't mention, as well as it not being necessary to do some things that other contractors suggested (hire a mason for the chimney, replace skylights). The guy who cleans my roof and gutters and has seen a lot of roofs, complimented Mt Goat's work. read more

It had been 19 years since we've had new shingles and our roof still had the original 3/8" plywood from when the house was built in 1969, so we were looking to do a complete tear down. The shingles were starting to fail and the plywood was in pretty bad shape, after having three or four sets of shingles over the years. After getting estimates from four companies, I chose to go with MGR and they did not disappoint! Aza took the time to go over every detail with us and even offered to paint the plywood for the soffits before they went up, as our yard is on a slope and would be difficult for us to do ourselves once installed. The crew arrived early both days and worked together like a well oiled machine. In addition to covering the perimeter of our house and plants with tarps, they protected our rear windows and sliding glass door with sheets of plywood before tearing off the old roof. They cleaned up the site on Day 1 before leaving and after the work was completed on Day 2, they did a final clean up. Even though it's only been a couple of days, I have yet to find even one nail! MGR was the highest bid, however Aza listened to us and provided us with the most detailed estimate! I also wanted to replace the shingles on our shed and they did a fantastic job. We chose the CertainTeed NorthGate ClimateFlex in Max Def Moire Black for our shingles. This product is of exceptional quality and comes with an extended 5 Star warranty which MGR does not charge for. I highly recommend Mountain Goat Roofing and if I could give more stars, I definitely would! read more

We have what I knew would be a challenging roofing job: tall 4-story townhome on a hillside with very limited and tight access. Most roofing companies I contacted didn't even bother to respond as a result. Aza and MGR was recommended by one of the folks at Cornerstone Roofing who basically said: "This job is too complicated for us but if anyone can get it done it will be Aza. MGR didn't disappoint. Aza did a thorough assessment of the job and even made some clever recommendations to reconfigure our high gutters for better performance and easy maintenance. High Point Gutters will be doing that work. The roofing crew was efficient and clean. They got the job done in basically a day, after coming by to hoist materials up to the roof the previous day. The tarped the entire house perimeter so the old roof material did not damage anything as it was removed. Cleaned up so well after the job you wouldn't know they were here. Could not recommend these guys more highly. Thank you Aza and team for the excellent experience and great work! read more

Mountain Goat Roofing - Roofing Near Me - Lynnwood, Washington

If you are looking for a great crew of roofers for your house, I would like to recommend Mountain Goat Roofing. After 30 years, the roof on our house was showing a lot of signs of wear and tear. It wasn't leaking, but we like to be proactive when we can. It pays off. A leak could be catalysmic because it would probably be a month or so before we noticed. Lots of damage to walls and ceilings. Ugh! Anyway, I asked around and my friends gave me the names of 3 roofing companies. I called all of them to ask for a quote. The first guy had an aerial view of our roof which gave him the dimensions that would need to be redone. He said that there was no reason for him to actually go onto the roof. I thought this was a little strange. What if the roof wasn't that bad? The second guy only looked at the roof from the front and backyard. He really didn't think that we should spend the money. He had a quote that was 50 percent more than the first. Because our neighborhood is quickly going from single home to multi-family, he thought we should wait 5 years and reconsider. Truth be told, we are old, but we love our old house. We like the location. We don't plan to move. I'd rather get a new roof sooner so that we can enjoy our peace of mind longer. I think this guy thought we might decide to move to a retirement home rather than spend money on a roof. Then the third guy came. What a breath of fresh air! Aza Cline had a ladder. He went up on our roof. He poked around. He checked our vents. He saw evidence of something unusual. It was a treatment in the attic because we had a house fire years ago. I was impressed by his assessment of our roof. His quote was about the same as the first guy. The crew worked quickly, were very nice, and cleaned up everything at the end of the job. This is the company that you will want to do your roof. We have had our new roof for a year now with absolutely no problems. read more

Mountain Goat Roofing recently replaced our roof and we are so pleased with their work. Aza who owns the company, provided a comprehensive and detailed inspection/estimate that identified existing problem areas and outlined effective solutions. For example, re-routing a few of the downspouts where damage was evident. In addition, the crew installed a Velux skylight, which turned out really great. In the end, we were very satisfied with the estimate and the final bill was right on target. We were especially impressed with the Mountain Goat crew. They were all very professional, polite, very skilled and worked extremely hard. The amount of time and preparation that they spent on laying out tarps for tearing off the old shingles really paid off as there was no debris to be found around the perimeter of the house. The final cleanup the crew performed was also very thorough. When the new roof was completed, we noticed a lot of attention to detail, including features to help ensure proper water flow. We highly recommend Mountain Goat Roofing, they are top notch! read more

Aza from Mt Goat Roofing stopped by to assess my old roof and was very punctual, professional and courteous. After he had time to assess the roof he came down and pleasantly surprised me with the fact that my roof is still in decent shape and gave me his professional assessment and how he came up with that decision and also some suggestions on how to maintain it to help it reach its full longevity. Mind you I already had assessment done that recommended full replacement and was in scramble to book numerous estimates and stressing about the costs. I will definitely be contacting Aza in a few years ( hopefully in 5 if luck is with me) when it's time for the actual replacement. He truly made my day read more

Stop looking around for other roofing services and just reach out to Mountain Goat Roofing. They beat out multiple competing offers and are experts in this field. Aza came out and did the MOST thorough roof inspection. He went up on our roof and drafted up a plan very quickly - which you might expect is the standard with inspections and quotes but you'd be surprised with other competitors we researched and how they use a drone or just look at Google Maps satellite view. You can just tell he's very experienced and knows what to look out for and how to draft up a plan that's best for the house. He was very communicative, responsive over phone and email, and spelled out every detail and decision we had to make. I really appreciated that attention and care. One other detail I found very impressive was that he called MULTIPLE times to see if we wanted to get the project started early because "his team finished another project early". This just indicates how efficient and effective his team works. And in reality, they were super efficient. There was about a team of 4-8 people who came by (all friendly, professional, etc.) Finished our re-roofing project in total 16 hours over the course of two days. I was SO impressed by how the team even came and tarped our property and put boards up by our windows so that as they hauled out the old material that things wouldn't get damaged. They cleaned up very well - it's almost as if they weren't there at all. They came and left at exactly the times they said they would. I did not have to be super involved in the process. Lastly, when the project was done we noticed one exposed area in our chimney. Aza called immediately and the next day at 8am we got a doorbell ring with the team telling us they fixed the issue. Mountain Goat Roofing is just a different breed. read more

When Aza came to do the initial estimate, I was impressed with his attention to detail, and his desire to build a quality roof. His estimate was right in line with another reputable company, so I chose him and I'm glad I did. There's not much to report because everything went smoothly. The roof looks great and the guys left my house and yard cleaner than they found it. There was one small aesthetic issue with the torch-down roof (no one's fault) and Aza came out the next day, on a weekend, and took care of it himself. It's hard to imagine how you could go wrong choosing this company. read more

Mountain Goat Roofing was introduced to us by Homeowners Club. Excellent attention-to-detail, knowledge of housing codes, awareness of potential issues -- and a professional crew. Introduced to us by Homeowners Club, Mountain Goat Roofing stood out from the 3 roofers that examined our 37 year old house, last roofed 20 years ago. All 3 roofers climbed on the roof and examined it during their first meeting with us. The other 2 roofers stopped there, and provided estimates that removed/replaced the roof. The representative from Mountain Goat -- who was the president/owner, Aza -- took additional steps as described below, while keeping his price competitive: - Took a look at our attic to verify the construction of the "chalet" roofed portioned of the house. - Since building codes had changed since our house was built, he included the addition of a small "cricket roof" behind our chimney in the re-roofing work. This prevents buildup of debris behind the chimney by ensuring that rain washes leaves, etc, off the roof instead of trapping them next to the chimney. - Noticed that the ceiling of our kitchen had been raised (by us), and that this changed the air flow in the area between the roof and the ceiling. He included establishing improved air flow in the re-roofing work. - Provided a list over several pages of houses in the area his company had re-roofed, with information on the color and type of tile used. This allowed us to see how some of the colors looked in the "real" world, and helped us decide on the color for our house. - A gutter on an upper roof drained on a lower roof. The water then flowed over that lower roof into another gutter. Moss tended to grow where that water flowed. Aza said he would improve the situation, and his crew installed a piece of gutter pipe between the upper spout and the lower roof gutter after installing the new roof. MOREOVER, though I had expressed hope that the color of this new piece of gutter would match the (black) roof color and not the white of the existing gutter, I didn't expect it would be possible. Pleasant surprise - Mountain Roof painted the new pipe black to match the roof. Looks great! - We wanted the roofer to install small pieces of wood under our eaves to cover a gap between the soffits and the roof. Mountain Goat was the only roofer who said (and without my even asking for it) that they would paint the wood pieces to match the house color. We provided Aza the paint color codes, and thus his team was able to install pre-painted wood strips and (where needed) replacement soffits. The other roofers planned to install white-primed wood and leave the painting to me. (Aza also gave me the leftover paint.) - There was a small gap in the side of the house near the roof, a potential attic entry point for insects. Mountain Goat caulked and painted it over. Aza and I had discussed it, but it was not included it in the estimate. The work was so minor I frankly didn't expect it to be remembered or done. To my surprise, his crew did the work without being prompted. The on-site Mountain Goat workers were unobtrusive. During the work I talked with several of them, and found them unfailingly polite and positive. Very happy with the work on our roof by Mountain Goat! read more

Mountain Goat just finished our roof. It is beautiful. They did a great job, kept the site cleaned up, communicated clearly with us, and exceeded our expectations in every way. After we had scheduled the work to begin in May, we had several issues with our old roof. Aza Cline (owner of Mountain Goat), generously sent people out to patch up these problems while we waited for the right time to do the entire job. He never sent us a bill for this work. I can't say enough about how positive the experience was for us. Many thanks to Aza and the team at Mountain Goat! read more

By far the best option we found for a new roof. They did a great job, on time and on budget with little disruption and left the place clean. They have hundreds of impeccable jobs you can look up our contact for references. Their track record is just great so we weren't surprised how well they did. Their prices were not even the highest despite the quality and reputation they have. They also pay their workers fairly and honestly. Great free estimate by Aza who is very thoughtful and helpful. They did a thorough job and have been around long enough to know how to prevent issues in the long term. Recommended. read more

So in full disclosure I have personally known the owner of this company for years but I am a tough critic and don't ever write reviews online but I felt I needed to. It all started with a roof that was leaking and at the end of it's life. I called for a quote and he came right out. He checked out the roof and tried to find a way first to see if it could be patched or a less expensive solution (which I appreciated immensely). Without asking, he gave me pamphlets about his his workmanship, materials, references and local houses I could drive by to look at for the work. He also gave me a list of homes to drive by to look at for the coloring of the roof. He told me which colors were true to the pamphlet and which were not. He took multiple calls from me asking all sorts of questions ( i felt like I was nagging him). Ultimately, his quote was MUCH less expensive than other companies and I was confident in what he was going to do. They were quick, efficient they cleaned up after themselves didn't leave trash or a mess everywhere. My neighbors all have noticed and said how quick & tidy they were. Simply put very impressed, and I am a tough critic. read more

Aza is an incredible guy. It was a pleasure to work with him. He's communicative, straight forward and responsive. He always follow up on our email inquiries and went out of his way to ensure we were happy. His team was professional, courteous and efficient! It was amazing to watch them work. We had an issue that they came back to resolve quickly. I won't need a roof for a long time, but if I did, I know who I'd call! read more

I called Mountain Goat Roofing after hearing their advertisements on my favorite radio station. The owner, Aza Cline, came out personally to inspect my roof and give me a folder with plenty of information about the roofing/venting materials his company used, plus a list of completed houses they had roofed. I chose to drive by several houses before selecting my final color. I received his written estimate within a few days and it clearly stated the materials and methods they would use to install my roof. The price was lower than I had expected! On the scheduled day, Aza and his crew came right on time and immediately got busy. I was impressed with the organized and efficient way they tore off the old roof and installed the new one. The six-man crew were pleasant and polite; they worked very well as a team; they did not waste any time and got the job done in one day. They didn't play any loud, obnoxious music, and I never heard any profanity, just like their advertisement said. They cleaned the gutters on the inside and even wiped them off on the outside! They cleaned up all the debris and scraps from the job--leaving my driveway cleaner than it was before! I was very impressed and would recommend Mountain Goat Roofing to anyone wanting an excellent roof at a very reasonable price. read more

Aza Cline and his company are top notch. While needing a new roof, I was very concerned to find a reputable person to handle the job. I needed to feel trust that my home and I would be respected. Aza and his crew get five gold stars on every aspect of the project. Aza's visit to inspect my roof, explain roof construction and provide guidance was very informative and helpful. Aza's professionalism and knowledge combined with a no pressure approach to my roof was perfect for instilling trust. The project went just as planned. The roofers were courteous, friendly and most importantly, respectful of my property. They laid tarps wherever necessary to collect debris and also propped plywood against the house for protection. Watching the crew work was very interesting. A well choreographed team of professionals. Each member was friendly and always open to my questions. End of day clean up was amazing! My roof replacement spanned a weekend. End of day cleanup on Friday was as though the job was done! Other than the roof being replaced, there was nothing around the house to indicate a project site. At the end of the project, the house and yard showed no indication that anything had happened other than a beautiful new roof on the house. I unequivocally recommend Mountain Goat Roofing. read more

We had 3 roofers examined our old house and provided estimates on replacing the roof (roofed over 20 years ego). Mountain Goat Roofing stood out from the others due to the following: - During our meeting with its representative/owner, Aza - went over the re-roofing estimate with us and provided a detailed explanation of the overall process including the applicable housing codes. - The estimate was very clear about the total cost of completing the task and did not contain any gimmicks. - A professional crew. - Job well done. All the good stuff you're reading in the reviews is true. Ethically, this company is like a trip back in time; completely honest and reliable. Technically, they're way out in front, using the latest, high-quality materials. I got three bids; his was 5K below the highest one (big name in roofing locally) and comparable to the fly-by-night guy who works alone out of his 1985 Chevy pickup. It felt kind of like a miracle to me. They showed up right when he said they would, a big crew of able-bodied folks who immediately went to work. They had the whole thing done in one day, and cleaned up so well you'd never know they were there. The new roofing system looks spectacular! The expense was a very big deal for me -- that's a new car up there on my roof -- and I'm delighted with the outcome. Mountain Goat Roofing is definitely a good pick, at least get a bid from them. read more

There was a miscommunication between me and the estimate scheduler at Mountain Goat, as I only needed some minor roof repairs and ventilation improvement and they were only taking full replacement projects on at the time. In spite of that, when Aza showed up he was more than happy to go up on the roof with me and point out things that should be fixed, and gave a brief overview on ones that I could do myself. He even took the time to write down some of the different products I would need if I were to go ahead and do the repairs myself. While the task ended up being beyond my skills, Aza's quick roofing lesson was very helpful when looking at the same project with other contractors. Top notch customer service! read more

Recently hired them to reshingle my North Seattle house, after a previous, good experience with them reshingling another house for me ~ 8 years ago after comparing a number of roofer estimates and referrals. I am a big fan of Aza; he's still very responsive, helpful, knowledgeable, and provides great service now just as he did years ago. This time around, at no cost to me, Aza came and temporarily repaired leaky sections of my shingles a few months before our scheduled reshingling of the entire roof. He provided good preparation instructions before the full job. His team was efficient and clean, taking sufficient measures to protect our house exterior, yard, and garden. No hassle. Now, it looks great. I would recommend Aza and Mountain Goat Roofing highly. read more

About 15 years ago, hired Mtn Goat to do complete tear-off and put down 40 year composite. West side looks fine, but east side(not visible unless up on roof) developed leaks and holes allowed critters to invade attic. Instead of tear-off, roofers just slapped a layer over remaining 3 layers, not discovered until this year. Have hired pest control, roof repairs, repair and removal of black mold in house and reinstallation of insulation. More reroofing on east side still required. Have spent over $23,000 to date. Mtn Goat also skimped on the flashings, which Starburst Gutters fixed within two months of paying for the roof job. Starburst charged about $200, saying inadequate flashings were obvious. Can't find Mtn Goat invoice, but the job was very expensive. Hope current management has improved things. George A. Brown 1240 22nd Ave East Seattle 98112 read more

These guys were great from the time they came for the estimate through the clean up. The estimate was very reasonable and not pushy. The owner made it clear that they wouldn't cut corners. The crew came with their own truck (no dumpster) and completed the work in 3 days (1,600 Sq ft house). They were very polite and played Christmas music on the radio (it was December 2013). No swearing or rough talk which we appreciated. The quality looks great and they spent a considerable amount of time with the flashing to get it right. They even trimmed the vertical siding where it was close to touching the roof to cut off old rot on the bottom edge for free. I'd hire these guys again and referred them to my in-laws (now that's trust). read more

Mountain Goat - thanks for stopping by with good quote and good customer service.

Wow! Using PS Consumer's Checkbook, I contacted 5 companies and got 5 bids for my roof--requesting the same asphalt shingles (Consumer Reports). The bids ranged from one ludicrous quote to one reasonable, the rest in the middle. I went with Mt Goat for 3 reasons: Mt Goat educated me and wasn't selling me--if you're going to spend a small fortune, you probably know exactly what I mean & why this is important. Mt Goat set the bar very high for themselves (I really respect this) promising high quality worksmanship, materials, and clean-up. Also, Mt Goat had the very best price and the very best reviews. Mt Goat delivered on his word. While I've never had a new roof installed, three of my neighbors have. They all remarked how professional the crew was, how quickly the job was done, and how immaculate the clean-up they did afterward. I'm extremely impressed and highly recommend Mt Goat when you need a new roof. You won't need to get other bids. read more

Choosing a company for a full tear off and new roof had been on my to-do list for over a year as it is a big ticket expense and one to get right. Aza stood out from others in addressing all of my roof issues, not just re-shingling or up selling with unnecessary additions. His estimate included much needed chimney re-tucking and sealing as well as replacing loose and cracked gable end siding and trim, even to painting to match, as well as adding a solar tube - all inclusive - items I thought I'd have to sub out. His crew was prompt, hard working and polite - a first class operation. Also appreciated was not having a huge dumpster in my driveway as they use a large truck to remove all old materials that drives away at the end of the day. My new roof was completed in three days and is beautiful. I recommend having this company be considered for all roofing needs. read more

I recently used this firm to have a complete tear-off and new roof installed. I'm quite satisfied with the results of this huge expense, and glad I found out about them. When buying a house our inspector noted a soft spot on the roof. We didn't have time to get someone on the roof before we had to respond to the inspection report, so I called several roofers to get a rough idea of what I might be looking at and how big a deal this was likely to be given the information I had. No one else would even talk to me if I wouldn't wait for them to come out on the roof, Mountain Goat Roofing returned my call and spent time explaining all the possible causes and what they felt was most likely before telling me they don't even do patch work in the summer so it wasn't a job they were likely to get. Our roof bids started at $35,000 and we'd gotten them down to the mid-20s when we came across Aza Cline and Mt. Goat Roofing. We have a steep pitch on our roof and needed a complete tear-off (2 previous roofs) -- a big job that a couple of roofers simply passed on. One mentioned Mt. Goat as a good candidate. Aza's bid came in well below the others and he seemed like a straight-up guy. He walked us through the process of which roofing to purchase (including warning us off our initial bad choice!). I like this kind of personal contact and feedback. Mt. Goat crew was courteous, extremely neat and always cleaned up thoroughly after each day. We have new gutters and they came through unscathed. Economical cost, courteous service, expert advice... not sure what more you could ask for in a roofing company, or any business for that matter. Highly recommended! read more

Professional yet friendly and honest!!! Could barely tell they had been there...finished and cleaned up in one day! I received a bid for twice a much and wondered why they wanted to tear down everything when the roof had been replaced 18 years ago but the moss and leaves had done their damage on one side. Aza Cline came out and said that the substructure felt strong so "re-shingling" should do it unless they found any rotting, We were relieved as our family had recently experienced the bad luck of hit and run by a drunk driver, injury at work and an elderly disabled parent moving in...don't need any other unexpected expenses!
