I was impressed that the company had a porta potty available for the job of 3 days. The work was done professionally and competently. They were very attuned to customer service. We had some reservations about doing the roofing during Seattle winter. They delayed the job by one day due to rain. They were able to complete it in 3 days. Our project had special challenges. We first needed some soffit repair, then wanted to first paint the house before commissioning the new roof. The soffit work was too small an effort to interest carpenters we approached. Blue & Blue agreed to perform the incidental soffit carpentry as a standalone project, then rebid the roof project the following summer. Once selected, they took special care not to disturb our asbestos concrete siding at roof/sidewall interfaces, as it would have been impossible to replace any broken siding. A knowledgeable and personable owner who accommodated the project's special needs and stayed involved throughout, competitive pricing, a professional and efficient field crew who left the jobsite spotless, and responsive office support......all contributed to successful completion. We received 3 quotes and B&B was the middle quote. However, they did come down a bit when we offered to pay cash and also gave us a veterans discount so make sure and ask about these options. They were very professional. One of the managers stopped by each day and kept us informed and answered all our questions along the way. They dropped off sample of all the different colors to help that decision along. It took them approx 2 1/2 days to roof our house, a one floor rambler. The roof looks great. There was a small punchlist at the end that they promptly followed up on. They cleaned up afterwards pretty well. The only complaints i have is to make sure you walk the new roof with them afterwards and inspect everything. they broke apart my siding in one place. i called them out on it and they promptly repaired it. They also leaned their ladders up against my gutters and scratched the gutters. i suggested they put padding on their ladders if they are going to continue to do this. All in all a great experience! I can't speak to the roofing ability of these guys but I can attest to them being good samaritans! When a car got stalled right at a busy intersection, two of these guys hopped out of their truck and pushed it through the intersection and into the nearest gas station before running back to their truck to catch the next light. I had suffered some damage to my roof. I was told by a company that I had hired to remove the moss from my roof that I had loose shingles. I called Blue and Blue, and they got back to me right away and scheduled an appointment to review the damage. They called ahead and arrived on time. Mark was honest and direct about the damage that had been done by a previous roof cleaner I hired a few years back and what I should plan for. He had a solution for me that addressed my issue rather than trying to add other things to increase the cost as others did. I felt as though I could trust this company, they have great customer service and follow through. Blue and Blue just completed re-roofing our house, and we couldn't be happier with the workmanship and service provided by Mark, Jo, Ruth, and the whole crew. Our old roof had issues with shingles blowing off, and a couple areas that were leaking in heavy rain. Mark came out and took a look, and we discussed the repair options, and he also explained the CertainTeed roofing system for a new roof. He followed up with a quote for both options, and we decided to go with the new roof with Landmark composite shingles. Because it was winter we had to wait for weather to determine the schedule, and the B&B team gave us regular updates as we waited for our slot in the rotation. When the crew showed up on the job they were very professional and were careful to protect our landscaping during the tear off, and cleaned up the site at the end of each day. I was a picky customer and had a lot of questions about the install and Mark and the crew took took the time to explain their process, and answer my questions. The job took 4 days, and the new roof looks great, and the yard was literally cleaner when they were done than when they started. This is the second time we have used Blue and Blue for a tear off and new roof, the first time was 10 years ago at our old house, and the service was just as good both times. We first met Mark at B&B about 10 years ago, when we bought our house and found a branch sticking up from the torch down roofing (we have a low slope roof, so torch down). We figured we needed a new roof b/c it was at least 10 years and, but when he came out he told us we had a few more good years left if we patched and coated it. Then he taught me how to patch the hole, left me with some material for any other holes, and was on his way. In the intervening years, almost every other roofer we talked to said we needed a new roof right away. When we finally replaced it, B&B did a great job and was right in the middle of the pack in terms of cost (I wouldn't recommend going with the lowest bid on a roof!). I have a 50's rambler and the rood started leaking into my daughter's room about 5 months after we bought the house. I had three companies come. The first two were big advertisers that I'm sure you have heard of. They barely looked at where I thought the leak was coming from and BOTH offered to replace the back half of the rood with mismatched tiles for a hella lot of cash. \ Along comes Mark with Blue and Blue Roofing. The next day he sends out a guy to do a repair on where we think the leak is at and BAM...it's fixed for next to nothing......Woot Woot!!!! Since then he has been keeping that roof floating so I can save up to get a new roof without having to take out loans. Two other repairs, one on an eve and the other on bad flashing that I repaired and it held for while but needed someone better that I to do it. Never a problem with call backs or scheduling. Our roof was 20+ years old and leaking in a few places, so time for a new one. In four bids, Blue & Blue was mid-pack price wise, but clearly offered more value than the low-ball bid: Full ridge and eave vents, certification and warranty direct from the manufacturer, and full replacement of the plywood sheeting. I appreciated (owner) Mark's straightforward approach and simple recommendations. I didn't feel I was getting sales tactics, just basic advice from an expert. Mark's crew leader Juan is great, the installation went smoothly, and Mark himself came to make sure everything was on track. Mark even discovered an issue with our siding, and came up with a great temporary fix. The receptionist I had initially talked to was nice and courteous and was able to get a person to come out within 90 minutes. Mark Blue, the roofing expert, was at my place in 45 minutes!
