Bob Johnson and his team did a fantastic job replacing the aging roof at my mother's residence on the Eastside. We got estimates from several other providers and Blue Star's price was comparable to the others. In providing the estimate Bob was planning to get a satellite view to estimate the size of her roof, but because of tree cover they had to come out and manually measure, which they did. Bob provided an estimate and worked with us to choose between several material options so my mother could make an informed decision, although she made a different color choice than they recommended. The work was done professionally and the roof looks fantastic (in this case, I partially credit my mom for the artistic eye). Bob was also responsive at a later date about a different issue and Blue Star was able to resolve that promptly as well. They took great care of us. read more

After having our home inspected before we listed, we found out some really bad news about our roof. It needed to be completely replaced. We've used Bob with Blue Star multiple times. We have rental houses as well as our personal residence. Blue Star put a new roof on a 1950's home in Seattle. Turns out one section of our roof had had completely rotted out the underlayment. Blue Star replaced it and put down a heavier duty felt so the problem wouldn't occur again. Blue Star also put new gutters on a home we own in Renton the crew was on time and on schedule and they did an excellent job. I've recommended Bob to friends and family as well. He's put roofs on my sister in law's and mother in law's homes as well. Bob and his team did an awesome job installing our new roof! The whole process was extremely smooth, and everything was completed on time. The crew showed up exactly when they said they would, they worked all day, and were done in 4 days. Each day they cleaned up, without leaving even a single nail around. The price was fair, approximately what our other bids were for. It also helped that Blue Star has been in business for over 35 years, which mattered for the warantee offered. Some new paint was applied not so well (you could see the brush streaks), so Bob went the extra mile and came out on a Saturday and fixed it up. read more

It was slightly more than the lowest bid, but I thought 30+ years of experience would make a difference. His team did an excellent job. It was wrapped up over two days and a few hours. and i liked the cleanup. When I got home, there was no sign of the project, other than the spanking new roof! Looks fantastic! Bob, the owner, is great to work with. He's been doing roof for I think about thirty years. He did my last house many years ago and it was a decent price and looked fantastic after it. It was a cedar shake roof. Couple of bad spots in the plywood under it which he fixed when he found them during the project at no extra cost. Had absolutely no trouble for years after the work. These guys are awesome. Bob (the owner) responded right away when we had a huge problem, came out on a Saturday to put tarps on the roof, and had the crew on the job that Monday.
