I hired Astro Roofing in November 2024 to install and connect exhaust ducts from my bathroom and kitchen fans to three existing exterior flapper vents, paying $900 + tax for the job. I didn't think there was a problem until an attic inspection in August 2026 revealed several significant issues hidden from view, including unsupported and uninsulated ductwork, damaged ducts, and sections joined with duct tape rather than standard duct connections. These issues required additional work and expense to correct. I contacted Astro Roofing immediately to request a repair under their 3-year warranty. After many attempts at communication, Astro Roofing refused to correct the work at their expense or refund the money paid. Instead, they asked me to pay for new materials, stated that they do not install rigid ductwork, and offered a one-time roof cleaning as a goodwill gesture. I am sharing my experience so others are aware that Astro Roofing did not stand behind their workmanship or their 3-year warranty. read more

We needed a new roof and new gutter guards installed. I sought estimates from five different roofers. I also checked with other businesses whose practice turned out to be not to not come to the house, but rather to give an estimate over the phone. With this kind of process there was no way to actually see samples of their product, and any estimate they would provide would likely not be very accurate. Astro Roofing was one of three businesses that came out to personally assess what needed to be done. The business owner, Toto, was the only business representative to inspect the attic. In so doing, Toto discovered that our bathroom fans had not been connected to roof flapper vents. He corrected this deficiency without any added cost. Although he appeared to be a fairly young man, he talked of the many years of experience as an installer before going into business for himself. As a result, he was able to explain his roofing process in a detailed way and to talk about the materials that he would be using. I did web searches regarding the information that Toto provided me, and found that that knew what he was talking about. It seemed obvious that he took pride in the work he and his crew did. Toto's estimate was the lowest of the three bids I obtained. As the tear down progressed, it was discovered that several plywood sheets had to be replaced due to the way my previous gutter guard system extended up under the shingles enabling water to seep up the guard onto the plywood. As was the case with installing roof vents for the bathroom fans, there was no additional cost for the new sheeting that had to be installed. Despite the large size of my Dutch Hip roof design, Toto's crew completed the job in one long day. Roofing is a messy business, yet the crew left our property spotless. A great value with great customer service! If you are considering a new roof in the greater Seattle area, please give Astro roofing serious consideration. I started by searching Yelp for a small set of roofing companies based on the research I had done. What I didn't notice was the default check box to forward to companies other than those I selected. At first I was massively annoyed, but in the end it was the best mistake ever! Toto (Laeste) was an incredible roofing contractor. He came in person, promptly and on time for the estimate. His numbers were a great value, and he quoted the roof I asked for. He worked with me to quote a thicker (24ga) metal to meet my needs being close to the Sound. I asked my Solar contractor (Solterra - another review to come) how they thought he would work with them, and they had no reservations - in fact they asked for his contact information for other clients who needed new roofing before installing solar. Toto brought physical samples of the material - not just brochures - and my wife selected Tahoe Blue. Unfortunately, the material was not available at that time. While he offered to change to a different color, he made us feel good about sticking with our original choice, even though the project would delay 2 months and delay his paycheck until after Christmas. When time came to install the roof he was always there. From inspecting the materials after delivery, through to the final punch list. He had a great rapport with his team, and talked with me daily about the progress. When it came time to close the punch list on the roof, he personally ensured all the items closed out. And that's not all. The solar team asked him to install a boot for the power to come into the house. He expressed his concern to me about penetrating the roof, and followed through, again in person, with the solar company who proposed a solution that met his needs to protect the roof he installed, while meeting my desire for an tidy installation. I had a damage in my roof caused by a big tree branch that fell off. On Sunday (02/12) I contacted Astro Roofing to check if could come up to fix the damage. Due to the risk of have leaking on the roof they come up on Monday (02/13) to fix the roof. They went extra mile doing an inspection in the roof and found other spot that had to be fixed and applied moss treatment to handle kill some growing moss. Siding around our chimney got rotted in some places and we got a couple quotes and Astrol Roofing beat all of them. While they were here they also identified some other potential issues with cracked vent pipes and vents that were filled with bee hives.
