I had Jimmy from Sound Set come to take a look at my roof after another contractor that I was not happy with. Jimmy pointed out some issues and gave me some advice that was much appreciated. While I eventually chose a roofer that is more specialized in the type of roof that I have, Sound Set would have been my choice if my roof had been of the shingle type. If you need any roof work done, I can highly recommend Sound Set. read more

Highly recommend this business. Sound Set did a roof repair/replacement for a failed flat roof section of our cabin. The work was completed quickly and professionally. Jimmy (owner) was responsive, professional and communicated well from the original estimate to project completion. We are very happy with the work performed. I would consider this company to be highly trustworthy and I recommend them with no reservations. read more

Very happy that we chose Sound Set Roofing to replace our 24-year old roof on a single-family home. Jimmy, the company owner, patiently discussed the options (asphalt, warranties, underlayment, ridge ventilation, edging, flashing, etc) and provided a competitive quote. As promised, his team conducted the work in less than two days, leaving the site clean, tidy and safe. Good communicator too. I recommend Sound Set Roofing. read more

Jimmy and his team were great to work with and did an excellent job. We are grateful for their creative solutions and follow up.

Jimmy and his team were absolutely terrific. We received several quotes for damage done to our skylights during the bomb cyclone at the end of 2024. Jimmy not only addressed the skylight issues, he is the one and only contractor who noticed "squish" under our metal roof, indicating water damage to the wood below. His team was professional, prompt, and the communication was excellent. One of our skylights required a custom fit, so his crew came out to water proof it until the glass came in. We have already decided we will use Sound Set Roofing when we have the funds to replace all our skylights. I would wholeheartedly recommend Jimmy and Sound Set Roofing. We were so impressed from start to finish. It is worth noting that he also provided detailed pictures of the work from start to finish to allow us to submit repairs to our homeowners insurance! read more

Jimmy tackled my large, 3 part roofing project fearlessly and delivered everything I wanted. My roof is beautiful, tech forward, industrial/tough, and functional. It was a pleasure to work with an actual roofer and project manager instead of a salesman. He got on the roof and looked in my attic and knew exactly how to plan the project. A professional and a delight. The team, Sebastian, David, and Jonny are seriously industrious and positive. I felt lucky to have experienced roofers. I am the kind of person who appreciates meticulous work and lovely people. The first part was adding structural beams to support both rake overhanging areas. The roof was sagging at the ends He replaced lots of rotten plywood decking, put metal plates on the old vents cutouts, and installed ridge vents for air circulation The second part was to put membrane, ice and water shield, rubberized algae resistant shingles, new vent covers, and re flash everything Finally I got bigger 6 inch gutters with gutter guards and clean outs. I think the wide metal valleys will make it easy to blow pine needles off my roof. No more scooping gutters I can use the blower. read more

I had to call several times before Jimmy responded and set up an appointment time to come to my house. The appointment day came and Jimmy never showed. I called him the next day and left a message asking if he was still interested in coming to my house or not - just let me know. Jimmy never responded. I try to be respectful of other people's time. Obviously this contractor could care less of my time. read more

TLDR: Go with Jimmy for your roof replacement. We needed a roof replacement for our newly purchased home and we are so glad we went with Sound Set Roofing. As first time homeowners, we did a lot of research on types of roofs and roofing companies, but still felt overwhelmed by the options and expenses. We received 4 quotes from big to small companies and Jimmy, the owner of Sound Set Roofing, was the most hands on contractor we met with, from drawing pictures to help us visualize the new venting system, to patiently explaining the step by step process multiple times. His bid was competitive and time frame was reasonable (beware of companies that guarantee next day 1 day roof replacements). Unlike other companies, there was no upfront deposit required, we paid on the first day of work and after completion. We especially appreciated that Jimmy was the only contractor that went into the attic to feel the plywood to give a better estimate of the damage and number of sheets needed to be replaced and walked around the roof to feel the shingles and chimney (other companies took a peek from the attic access panel and used drones to take pictures). During the project, Jimmy sent updated pictures showing us the condition of the old roof and each step of the way (plywood, underlayment, etc). Plywood was put on our deck to protect it. After the work each day, the crew cleaned up the space nicely. We went with Malarkey Vistas shingles and the quality of work is outstanding (Sound Set Roofing is certified by Malarkey). Sound Set Roofing is licensed, insured, and bonded, and provides a 20 year workmanship guarantee, so while we don't think we will be calling them any time soon, we know they take pride in their work. We are so glad we worked with Jimmy on our roof replacement and will recommend him to anyone who needs work done on their roof! read more

Great experience working with Jimmy, who's not only the owner but also works with the crew and has great attention to detail. Provided a detailed quote, went through options for roofing materials and explained everything very well. On the job site, he looked to solve problems to ensure our roof was draining properly and was a great communicator. Highly recommend working with Sound Set! read more

Jimmy is absolutely awesome! I had a small leak, with an unknown external source (since leak would only happen when it rained). Jimmy showed up the next day, exactly when he said he would. Did some brief inspections and sealed up the suspect areas. He came with all his equipment - super prepared, 0 upselling, and relentless focus on finding a solution. We obviously don't know if this will solve the problem (gotta wait for it to rain), but even if it doesn't, I'm def calling Jimmy cause he's just awesome to work with. This part might come as a surprise to many, especially when dealing with contractors - I had to pay Jimmy more than he asked for, cause I thought he was undercharging me. If you need anything done with roofing, I 10000% recommend Jimmy. read more

Jimmy and his team did a wonderful job on our new roof for my rental! He was able to provide a competitive quote quickly, walked me though his entire process and was easy to reach throughout the entire re-roofing. Although, I was not there locally, I felt very secure as he was great at communicating with me through text and email. Very happy with the end result and highly recommend! read more

Sound Set Roofing - New roof! Fancy!! - Roofing Near Me

Sound Set Roofing did a great job on our roof repair. I put out a request for bids on Yelp and had mixed results. One company had a $2,000 minimum. Another scheduled an on-site estimate in 2 weeks, which didn't work for our timeline. Jimmy at SSR messaged me with a reasonable quote over Yelp almost right away. I spoke to him later that afternoon, and he was on the roof getting the repair done by dinner time. The repair (flashing coming up on the roof) looks good, and he also re-sealed the pipes and chimney flashing while he was up there. All of that and the work was on the low end of the range from his original estimate. We're moving into a new home at the end of the month, and I'm planning on using this company for any roof work needed over the summer. Highly recommended. read more

Jimmy and sound set roofing really deserve an award. I can state unequivocally that this is the best experience I've had with any business hands down! Sounds set did a great job repairing our roof from some tree limbs that had punched through. Jimmy was one of the only folks in the area even willing to do repairs and, even though I was just a repair client rather than a higher $ replacement, he and his crew showed up when they said they would, did exactly what they said they were going to do, and left everything cleaner than they found it. I thought his pricing was very fair and his responsiveness was quick, even proactively calling when snow was in the forecast to let me know he may not be able to make it out rather than just not showing up. I fully recommend Sound Set for your roofing needs. read more

I asked Jimmy to check out my skylights as I'd been feeling drafts. He found the issue was pretty minor and just went ahead and fixed it while he was up there. Then he showed me pictures and explained what the problem was and what he did--at no charge. Much appreciated and I will be calling him if I have skylight issues in future. read more

Jimmy and his team were fast to answer our message and found critical problem with our roof that other teams missed. He was interested right away in finding economical and long lasting solutions and doing it right so it wouldn't need to be done again. We really appreciated his work! read more

If you have roofing concerns, I highly suggest you contact Sound Set Roofing. We discovered a small leak coming from the roof. Jimmy responded to me on Yelp the same day. He was able to come out to my home the next day to inspect my issue. He took pictures and talked to me about what was going on and what was most likely causing our leak. He then talked through options with me and provided his recommendations. Options ranged from simply fixing the singular issue to preventive measures in order to minimize risk of another leak happening. Jimmy's team came out a day or two later to complete the project, and then Jimmy came out a couple days later to do a final inspection and take pictures of the final product. Jimmy is friendly and professional, and was easy to work with. I'd recommend Sound Set Roofing to any friend or family member. read more

We've had some problems with vents and fans for some time. Sound set fixed our issues once and for all. He upgraded our flimsy, plastic, broken vents across the roof to metal, and put on the proper venting solution for the hood, which on our roof was the wrong type of vent. During rain times, we could always hear the rain ping the vent at the hood. No more of that! He also inspected the roof altogether and found a few areas where branches had come down and damaged the shingles. He color matched the shingles and fixed those locations. He also inspected the flashing at the chimney and recommended a mason inspect it as well, since it's original and countersunk into the mortar, but starting to separate. He took before photos and shared them with us while discussing the problems and walked through all the things he did before leaving. Materials and labor were $650. Communication and scheduling was easy, and the day of service, he communicated the adjusted timing of arrival. He did a great job, I trust the owner and recommend this company for roofing related solutions. read more

Sound Set Roofing has the BEST business model. No one cares more about quality than the owner of a company. Owner Jimmy Ramos comes out to evaluate and bid the roof, he is part of the crew doing the work, and he oversees the project from start to finish. You are not paying a middleman sales consultant who is uninvolved in the actual work. The work is done on consecutive days until the job is finished. (No tearing off and prancing off to another house while yours sets for weeks on end waiting to be finished, like some big companies do.) No upfront deposit: extremely rare. You pay after the job is complete and you're happy. This speaks volumes for the commitment and timeliness of the project! Highest quality: We chose the color weathered wood, and we love it. Sound Set Roofing also fixed the chimney surround and brought it up to code. They replaced the gutters and downspouts. They replaced old cloudy skylights with beautiful clear skylights that let in more light, provide visibility to the trees, and are more energy efficient. Overall, a fantastic experience! read more

Jimmy was awesome to work with. Got the job done promptly and stands by his work. In fact he fixed a few minor holes before I even contracted with him to do the work. He just saw them upon inspection and took it upon himself to 'stop gap' fix them while I pursued a few different quotes. In the end I went with Jimmy because his price was extremely fair, and he was/is a very trusting person. As a result I'm very happy with the work and the roof looks great. He knocked it out as he said it would in 5 days. Started on a Monday, finished on a Friday and protected garden during process as he said he would. Don't think I could have had a better experience. read more

Had few minor roof repair jobs that I wanted a honest and frank professional to look at and Jimmy is the guy. Some vent pipes, cracks in older roof kitchen fan, and a degraded shingle. He assessed the work, suggested cost effective solutions, and did the work, and no upselling. Haven't had rain to check if there's any real leaks, but from my assessment, he cares about putting in real professional effort. Definitely recommend Jimmy. read more

We had considerable roof/gutter/siding/rafter/tree damage following a windstorm in Issaquah and like any most of us, I got 4 quotes and ended upgoing with Jimmy and his crew at Sound Set roofing. Estimate: I reached out to jimmy on yelp and he was quick to respond and schedule a free estimate. He arrived on time for the estimate (called before he arrived) and assessed the damage and promised to send a written quote by email. Which is sent on time as promised. the quote was very detailed and I found myself using that quote as a baseline to others. Jimmy's quote was not the lowest but it was through and clearly documented each area that he would address. The work: The repair was not too complicated, a section needed to be replaced, gutters and rafter and facia also needed to be replaced and re-painted. Jimmy and his crew arrived when they promised, finished everything as they promised and even matched the paint on gutters. I can say they made it look like it did not ever happen. They cleaned up 100% after themselves and made sure I was satisfied before leaving. As a homeowner with damaged roof, Jimmy and his crew's professionalism really put me to ease and their workmanship is impeccable. From a price point of view, their estimate was second lowest among the 4 quotes I did receive. Do what you have to do, get the 3-4 estimates, but I would highly recommend giving this company a chance to give you an estimate at least. I will be referring Sound Set Roofing and Jimmy Ramos to anyone who seeks a roofer/siding contractor. read more

I was having a hard time finding someone to help fix our leaking skylights. Until I reached Jimmy with Sound Set Roofing. He literally came out the next day and had a quote ready for us that night. Needless to say, we scheduled the repairs to be done with him. He was able to get the supplies he needed and we scheduled the next week. He was very professional, took an abundance of pictures and was very communicative throughout the entire process. We couldn't be happier with our new skylights. Thanks Again Jimmy! read more

I had 12 estimates for my roof replacement, and Jimmy was immediately my favorite. He answered all my stupid questions without talking down to me because I'm female, and it was quite evident that he is passionate about his work and knows what he's doing. The quotes ranged from $6000 to $18,000, and Jimmy was right in the middle. I researched the shingles that he uses (Malarkey), and read a bunch of excellent reviews on the advantages of their product. Once he had answered about 8 million additional questions and I signed the contract, Jimmy and his brother, Ivan, were out bright and early every day working their butts off until after dinner. They cleaned up all the debris, and left everything better than they found it. The new roof and gutters look amazing, but the sun tunnel is, by far, my favorite part! I will be having him install another one (or two) in the near future! And if I ever need a roof on another property, he will for sure be the one I call! read more
