I was pleasantly surprised today. I've been here several times and I've had some issues but today was great and restores my desire to return. Our pancakes were so good! I asked for well done fries & sides of blue cheese dipping sauce.... I'm a happy & satisfied customer! Our waitress was Luis. He was professional yet still have the friendliness side. I've gone to a couple of these before and it was awesome. This location was crazy busy. With that being said it was bad service. They took forever in our food and people that were coming after us were getting their food before we were. On top of that hash browns were not done at all but we still got the m on our plate. When we ask to for them to cook them more they shared them. Not pleasant at all. We ring go back to this location again. We like Norms so that's so sad. read more

Celebrated my Grandmas 80th bday today at her favorite restaurant. My family has been coming to Norms since the 80's of what I can remember, but I'm sure longer than that. We Had amazing service from the manager and from Kristina our waitress, who dealt with 16 of us. Food was great and my Grandma Loved it. All she wanted for her bday was a T- bone steak from Norms, Lol! and her steak did not disappoint. Thank you for making her bday dinner special. They were in for a few days then abruptly quit during Covid. They needed a lot of work on their food. A lot! They are closed now in Encino

Starting a new thing where I visit diners either big chain or local and I decided to start with norms. I haven't been here in quite some time so I figured it would be a good place to start because I remember my time here was great and it did not disappoint again! I got to this norms after the gym cause I wanted steak and eggs for a post meal workout. I thought of norms! I was greeted by a young man named Luis. He was kind enough to ask where I would like to sit and I chose the counter. I was then greeted by a kind server named Kristina she helped me out with what I wanted to order and even pointed out that they had a new specials menu they just rolled out. I saw the specials menu item that I wanted vs the regular price of the same item and it's a deal! About 3 dollars less which is great! So I got the New York steak & eggs with an extra egg (all scrambled). Hash browns and sourdough bread instead of pancakes. I got it medium! So my food came out and it looked great! I went for the eggs first so the tapatio is had slathered it with and it was decently fluffy. I know it's a chained diner but maybe add a little milk to the scramble to give it a nice fluff. I went for the sourdough and it was nice and toasted and buttery mmmmmmm butter. But the main event was the steak in which it was flavorful and nice and tender butttt I did ask for medium and the steak looked more on the well done side but nonetheless it was still tender which was surprising! It's understandable when you've got only two cooks manning the flat top trying to push out multiple orders. Believe me I've been there so I understand the pressure. But the two gentlemen did well! Kristina was very helpful with my meal and time eating there, big shout out to her! Give her a raise or something maybe even free food for life haha just kidding on the free food for life.... ‍ but in any case I enjoyed myself and I enjoyed the room! A lot of patrons coming in for a late lunch and talking and enjoying themselves. The music was cool and the ambiance of the restaurant was relaxing HOWEVER it was so warm in there lol like I was breaking a sweat while eating I noticed this because the fan above me wasn't on but the rest were. Suffice to say the circulation of air in the restaurant wasn't getting to me even though there were four to six big ceiling fans doing its job. I just chose a bad spot I suppose. I definitely will come back here for my steak specials worth it! For me it's 5/5 stars. read more

Sure, it was a busy weekend, but don't throw out meaningless numbers just to say something. Be straight about the wait and let customers decide if it's worth sticking around. Kristina is hands down one of the best servers we've had at Norms! My family and I have been coming here for over 15 years, and it's rare to find someone as sweet, attentive, and on point as she was. She didn't leave us waiting for a things, our drinks were refilled before we even had to ask, and she checked on us regularly without being overbearing. It's clear she really cares about her guests. On top of that, she has a great sense of humor (total jokester!) and such a beautiful sense of style it made our dining experience even more enjoyable. Date: December 10, 2022 Was in the mood for pancakes and was just about to make them when hubs said 'let's go out for some pancakes'. Since he's not a fan of IHOP or Denny's we decided to stop by Norms! We just had our little guy born in November so we needed a family friendly restaurant and this place was perfect! We've been to a couple other locations before but this was the first time over here in the SFV. Arrived around 10am and it was super crowded! They have a waiting area to your left next to the bar with comfy sofa seats. Signed our name on the waiting list and proceeded to wait. They were calling names so quick that it only took about 15 mins before we were seated. The workers are so friendly and everyone is just so welcoming. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious and the rib eye was as great as you can get for Norms! We got some Cajun tator tots that went perfectly with the hash browns (bc there's no such thing as too much potatoes). We ordered chicken wings as well since the hubs loves chicken wings. The waitress was super attentive and refilled our waters and made sure we were taken care of periodically. Once finished she gave us the bill and boxes to pack up leftovers and then we headed to the front cashiers to pay our bill. Everyone is just so friendly that it makes you feel at home. Even though the place is opened 24/7, you feel the workers actually enjoy their job and are happy to be at work on Saturday morning. I have not been to norms in a few years and i have to say...why the hell did i wait so long! I was craving some breakfast for dinner and It did not dissapoint. The place was super busy when we walked in, so my group assumed that it was really good local spot. They were decently efficient when seating us and our waiter was super cool he was definitely on top of it. The food kinda sucked though two of our six plates were cold, three of them were missing for 15 minutes, and gave us two wrong orders. The kitchen honestly just wasn't looking at the orders or anything and it seemed it happens to a couple of other table too. The manager on shift at 11:45, 10-19-25 was sitting around doing nothing the entire time while his staff was working their butts off. The toilets were out of stock for toilet paper when we first arrived, we told the manager, 40 minutes it es later still no toilet paper. The only good thing was our water he was very nice and on top of it. Other than that quite a terrible experience. read more
