5 stars -- A fantastic sushi spot that's become a new favorite! I had such a great experience at Nori Sushi. The food is absolutely delicious -- fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The sushi boats, in particular, are stunning -- they look like edible art, and the taste lives up to the presentation. For the quality, the prices are surprisingly reasonable. The service really stood out. Every staff member we interacted with was warm, attentive, and kind. They were especially sweet to the kids, which made the whole experience even better. It's definitely a kid-friendly place -- the staff goes out of their way to make little ones feel welcome. We are a group of 6 people and everyone of us had a good time here. The food came out pretty quickly too -- we didn't feel rushed, but we also didn't have to wait long. The restaurant itself is very clean, with a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. Great for a casual dinner or a special night out. Bonus points for the convenient parking -- there's a big lot behind the restaurant with both paid and free spaces available. If you're a sushi lover (or even if you're just sushi-curious), I highly recommend giving Nori a try. We'll definitely be back soon!

Visited this restaurant for a quick lunch . The sushi is fresh and the avocado salad is very good. Prices for the sushi rolls are decent . Parking : street parking and small parking lot in the rear of the restaurant

Godzilla Roll and Verona Roll.

In this day and age, I wouldn't recommend impulsively going somewhere for sushi - this was our third stop in a frenetic 15-minute period of walking up to the doors of restaurants only to realize they were only processing to-go orders. In my experience, most sushi establishments are still super skittery about COVID, and the chances that the place you pick has sit-down dining right now is pretty much a coinflip. That's on us though - we were naughty and didn't do basic due diligence beforehand. My chum and I had lunch here yesterday. It's a spot we've been to before (notably after an unsettling Nocturnal Animals screening a few years ago that led to some animated conversation about Amy Adams over some edamame) for both sit-down and take-out, and it's been a solid, reliable destination. My go-to sushi restaurant for special rolls is Kenko Sushi in Lincoln Park, so it's a little unusual for me to venture beyond my comfort zone in that regard. We both usually end up going down the rabbit hole of exotic/special rolls, and this adventure was no exception. I went with the Godzilla Roll and the Verona Roll (both $11.50). They were both very good, though the winner by a slight margin was probably the Godzilla Roll - I have a weakness for the fried ones, and I find that they hold together much more easily than "regular" rolls, which is helpful when the pieces require two bites instead of one. The Verona is solid - my chum got a Titanic Roll, which looked exactly the same from the outside but had shrimp instead of salmon within the roll. Was any of this mind-blowing, astounding sushi that I'd go out of my way to sample? No, but I don't think it needs to be anything more than a place you're comfortable popping into from time to time. The service was very good on the whole. Our food came out pretty quickly, and it seemed like they had some takeout orders to juggle simultaneously as well. The waitress was a little overaggressive in bussing our table and grabbing the check; I literally still had a final bite of sushi in my mouth when she swooped in to take the plate from under me. And after giving us the bill, she came back about a minute and half later to grab it and we had to quickly tell her that we hadn't even opened it to put payment in. It was pretty empty in there too, so it wasn't an issue of needing to turn over the tables. But honestly? I'd rather have too much service than too little these days. I tend to think of Montclair as a pretty overrated food town, but Nori is a solid contributor that provides a decent counterargument.

Had a wonderful lunch here today! Service was great and the food was delicious! One of our friends can't eat raw fish, but there were many other hot foods options as well as cooked/vegetarian rolls. All the rolls were so yummy! We will be back soon~

Super Boat

Great dinner experience at Nori in Montclair! We ordered a super boat, as well as fried noodles and fried rice. The super boat took a long time to prepare, a little over an hour, but we were informed of that upon ordering. It was worth the wait. Delicious sushi! Nori is also byob

Very authentic feeling of Japanese inside. Very friendly staff too. Prices were kinda high but I assume because of COVID and inflation. Chicken teriyaki came out sizzling on top of onions. Tasted great but the noodles were not so good. You can get rice instead but I choose noodles. My fiancee got #3 roll and angel roll. She said the angel roll was amazing but the number 3 roll was alright. Very difficult and messy to eat the number 3 roll too. The waiter even offered me a fork with my meal which is a plus since I am very bad with chop sticks.

This is probably one of the best sushi places I've been too. They have lots of vegetarian options! The place has a nice Japanese feel. It also has ample parking in the back. It's byob and there's a wine store literally 1 block away. As for what we got. Unfortunately they don't have the lunch menu on the weekends but that is no where written in there menu. We got the vegetarian tempura. It came with different fried vegetables like broccoli, mushroom and onion. It was ok. We ordered 4 rolls and I will present them in order of my favorite. The mango potato was the best. I loved the sauce and the texture of the fried sweet potato. Next was the pineapple. I loved the sweetness without any needed added sauce to top it. Then was the bugs bunny. It has lots of veggies and a nice Chipotle sauce on top. My least favorite was the Nori jade. I felt the Avocado was too mushy. The service was good but I felt it could have been a little better being that there were only 2 other tables being served.

This restaurant is located on a corner with metered parking right in the back. Plenty of seating, sushi is made to order and you can visibly see the kitchen. We ordered the rock shrimp and it was really good. The gyoza was also flavorful. All of our rolls were good! We will def Return. This is a BYOB.

By the way, I just wish they would focus on cuisine that should emphasize their own, I believe they represent Filipino food. And I need to mention that their price is on the higher end, I find some to be even more expensive than the Max's restaurant not too far from them, which never disappoint by the way. Service- well, we went on a non-busy time, only one table was occupied actually. Nobody from the staff welcomed us, we had to look for someone working there, one lady who was just sitting asked how many we are without standing her butt off from where she's at and told us to just pick any table we want. Seems not a pleasant lady but there was actually a group that she welcomed when we were about to leave, so I guess they're only nice to people they see often, are we coming back? They made us feel not welcome here! Ambiance-not bad, it's okay.

Once you sit down you scan a QR Code to order your food and drinks. I was pretty hungry that day so we ended up ordering a ton of food. The drinks were pretty good and they were served in Le Creuset mugs. Not the biggest deal, but I can appreciate some nice drinkware. The bowl of Kimchi Fried rice came out first. It was a generous portion and the rice was cooked well, but I feel like it could've used some more kimchi. The eggs on top were cooked perfectly and added good texture to the dish. The next dish to come out was the HK French toast. The bread was nice and fluffy which paired well with a nice generous drizzle of condensed milk. I enjoyed this a lot. We also ordered scallion pancake, pork barbecue, and bossam baos. These were ok, I would probably pass on a return visit. I felt like the meat in the baos was a little tough though they did have decent flavor. The last entree was the smoked salmon and avocado croissant; I really enjoyed this. It had a generous helping of smoked salmon and avocado as well. The saltiness of the salmon paired well with the creamy and fatty avocado. The croissant was also nice and flaky. It was also served with a house salad which had a nice drizzle of dressing on it too. For dessert we ordered a Black Sesame Souffle Pancake. This was SO good. A few months ago I visited a place in Princeton that specialized in these Japanese-style pancakes and Tasty Junction's version was so much more enjoyable. I loved that it was served with a healthy scoop of ice cream. The pancake was airy and had a bounce to it. Each bite was so good and made even better with the ice cream. I'd definitely come back just for the pancakes. All in all Tasty Junction is a great spot tucked away in Glen Rock

Wasn't too big a fan of their assam laksa (lacked a bit of flavour) but everything else was good. Staff were also really accommodating for all the kids and gave us the room in the back so we had a semi private area away from the other patrons. Their menu is massive with almost 200 items literally numbered! It seems to be a neighborhood staple and I was looking forward to trying it. I started with the Malaysian Iced tea which was pretty sweet (as expected) but paired nicely with the meal. The Roti Canai is the most popular item here and I can see why. It's flaky and buttery and pairs well with the sweet & savory chicken potato curry. The Penang Satay Mix is an absolute skip. Apparently it's "charcoal-grilled" and there's no way that's possible. It was super dry & chewy. On the other hand, the Penang Char Kway Teow - this was my favorite dish of the night! The flat rice noodles were cooked perfectly and soaked up all the flavor from the soy sauce & chili paste. The shrimp & squid were super fresh and my only complaint is there wasn't enough. The Chili Chicken was simple yet full of heat, spices, and could've gone well with a vegetable dish. Super affordable, filling, and quick service. The staff were also very friendly and accommodating!
