Oh man, the shoes. I found two pairs of shoes here, and then went to the mall and found the same shoes for way more money. I hate to tell anyone my secrets, but let's face it, many people already know. When I walk in I bee line to the shoes, and will normally always find something, even if it's the something i wasn't looking for. I try not to venture into the clothing sections because i will, no doubt, find something. At a good price, rarely can i pass up the bargain. They have watches and makeup and boots and active wear. Lots of great Nordstom brands at discounted prices. They seem to frequently rearrange and are constantly getting new things. (I follow @KansasCity_Rack on Twitter - they post sales promos and pictures of new arrivals). Like practically any store, you're not going to score on every visit, but I have found a few nice things at good prices. I definitely like that you can take up to 15 items into the dressing room. I hate when you have to leave things outside and vulnerable to vultures. This location doesn't carry as many high-end brands as the Off Saks at the Legends, but if you're already going to Oak Park Mall, I definitely suggest you include a stop at Nordstrom Rack while you're in the area. read more

I'm NOT a fancy person or a great shopper, but I really like Nordstrom Rack because you can find great splurge pieces for prices that humans should actually spend on clothes. My best finds here have been my blazer and my boots.. both items that I didn't want to look cheap, but I didn't want to spend a fortune on. Just like an outlet, the selection can be hit or miss, but the great deals you can find are worth the couple trips where you leave empty-handed. The service here is really great too. They can do alterations and the staff is already friendly. I feel like there is a typically a line that makes it look like Black Friday for check-out, but it moves quickly. read more

Previously being a fashion merchandising major this place is my best and worst nightmare. 1 it is super overwhelming, 2 there is so much "stuff" to browse that one must know exactly what to be looking for or you may go slightly mental, 3 the sales staff isn't friendly or helpful. Upside one might find some pretty incredible deals that won't make your credit card fall apart during the one swipe. Rack can for sure be a super hit and miss, I would highly recommend setting aside a decent amount of time to look and obviously prepare yourself mentally! read more

Don't waste your time. I spent an hour shopping and picking out items and when checking out a pair of shoes clearly marked $49 they said was mismarked and was now $89. They would not honor the tagged price. Mad I wasted my time and at their business practices. read more

I go to Nordstrom Rack a few times a month. I usually buy make up and body care products for myself or as gifts. Sometimes I shop clothes, shoes and accessories. I like to pick up the Nordstrom brand chocolates and snacks, which taste pretty good. I have a Nordstrom card and it has a decent rewards program, easy online shopping, and easy purchaes and returns if needed. read more

I love the accessories and shoe sections of this store. Found a great Michael Kors watch for my son for a third of the retail price! The jewelry section can keep you entertained for a couple of hours. Also the baby clothes sections and outerwear department have some great buys. Was a bit dismayed that some of the handbags were a couple years past season though. All-in-all, you can find some great designer purchases here. read more

I love these customer service people they are so great. Even the ones I have to call over the phone. I just love Nordstrom and at the rack I literally get so excited by the sales I sometimes put 2 items in my online shopping cart so I either have to return them in store or modify my online order (within 2 hours). That being said, obviously its my fault I don't pay attention and order multiples of the same shades/shirts, but these people make me feel totally normally for being this excited! read more

I am a huge nordstrom fan but rarely can pay the full nordstrom price. I love that the Rack has some of my favorite brands and trendy clothing for a fraction of the price. My favorite find is their Paige Jeans that are usually half off here. I find the most gorgeous shoes here and love that I can earn Nordstrom dollars using my Nordstrom card shopping here. The downside is the long lines for dressing rooms and checking out. It really makes me question how badly I want the item. read more

If you want to feel you can only purchase items but it's a crime to return them, then go to this Nordstrom Rack. I had bought a Valentino bag online that ended up being a lot shinier than the online picture, so I went to this store to return the bag. The email I received with this order clearly said " Returnable - Easy Returns to any US Nordstrom Rack store or by mail." However, let me tell you it wasn't easy at all! At first, I was told I couldn't put the refund back on a different card even though I had paid off the Nordstrom Credit Card which was the original source of payment. So I agreed to put the refund amount on a gift card even though that option was not convenient for me. Anyway, while trying to scan the item, they told me the system was down and there was nothing they could do about it. This girl with tattoos (Amanda) started talking to me as if she was going to do me a favor by trying to take the purse back for 20 seconds. This nice lady (Yulia) called customer service but they said it was a store specific problem and they wouldn't be able to help. Then Amanda said the Tech guy lived out of town and didn't work on weekends. Good Lord! She couldn't be any more ridiculous! She told me a couple of times with a very rude tone "there's nothing we can do". I couldn't believe how I was being treated for wanting to return a friggin' purse! In the meantime, while they weren't able to figure out how to fix the issue, this other girl started checking my purse for defects and asked me if I had my receipt. I DID have the receipt, the purse was in perfect condition and I understand that there is a protocol they have to follow while taking expensive items back, but first please check if your system is working and be nicer to your customers! Oh, also I was told the manager was at lunch and she would get back to work after 10 minutes. Well, the manager never showed but Yulia was kind enough to keep trying and as soon as the "system" started working, she assisted me with the return. Yulia was very nice and she even apologized for the treatment I had received earlier. Thank goodness for associates like Yulia! It doesn't cost a penny to be nice to others - Yulia understands that, Amanda doesn't. read more

This is Susan Lopez, NOT Marie S. I ordered online with this company for the first time back in august. They sent all the wrong sizes and would not let me exchange the sizes. I was only required to return the items and get a refund. I had been waiting for a very long time to get the refund and had sent email inquiries on the status of that process. Nobody got back to me and I finally had to get on live chat to find some answers. I was finally told that there was a delay in the return process on their end. NOBODY thought it professional enough to notify me of what was happening!!! After talking with customer service rep on live chat he supposedly talked with his "seniors" and the refund was ok'd...like that was going to fix it! Because now I have to wait 5-7 business days for that to even process and it should only take 24 hours. Because of this unprofessionalism I will never shop here again and will continue to plaster bad reviews all over the place because this service is unacceptable. read more
