This is a cool spot, and one that I definitely recommend checking out. I do have somewhat mixed feelings about all the development surrounding this; this was always such a nice, open stretch with golf courses and farm vibes on the way to baseball games at 3&2 as a kid, or to run the trails at Shawnee Mission Park. However, that nostalgia can be overridden by the fact that people out this way have a whole lot more to explore, including several local spots. While I didn't catch the full development around the LPM, it feels generic and dime a dozen. The LPM however has donuts, coffee, pizza, bakeries, tamales, and more in a nice, tidy, food hall setup. It seems smaller than some of the others, but didn't feel particularly small on my visit during a quieter time of day. I've had the donuts at Mr. D's (great), the pizza at Topp'd (great for fast-casual) and need to try the rest in here. All in all, I'm unlikely to be a regular seeing as how I live a half an hour away, but it is nice to know about and particularly for when I am near the five-star Shawnee Mission Park.

Fun atmosphere. Great food. Lots of restaurants around the area as well as inside the market place. Nice clean building. Plenty of parking. Live music on Friday night during the summer.

Lenexa has done a great job of creating a hip little suburban fake downtown; with shopping, food, government buildings, offices, residential and a library. The Lenexa Public Market seems to be the focal point of the area. In the lower level of the city hall is the communal food hall with about seven vendors. There has been a bit of a turn-over since my first visit 4+ years ago, but that is the nature of the game. Burgers, African cuisine, pizza, coffee and donuts, cocktails... it's all here and plenty of tables and chairs, couches, stools inside or a outdoor area with fire pits. Make sure to check out the rotating art upstairs in the city hall lobby while you are there. I find LPM a much more interesting and balanced foodhall option than it's slightly more upscale rival in downtown Overland Park.

I love a classic public market! Great area to walk around, meet a friend, do some shopping, grab a bite to eat, grab a beer ... Or even bring a laptop and get some work done with a coffee! Lots of things to do and eat. And the food truck night is such a great time!! Check it out

There are a wide variety of food options to choose from and lots of vegetarian /gluten free choices as well. Cute, warm and inviting! There was a live band setting up as well as a farmer's market too! Outside seating with fire pits if you want to bring your pup! Will definitely be going back.

Extra large patio with comfy chairs and firepits. This is where the live bands play and the dancers dance!

This is my favorite spot in the area. I come here a few times each week: to work, write, study, and to just relax and read a good book. It offers both an energetic and chill vibe. During the warm months, I come on Friday nights to hear live bands and dance! It is the place to be.

Bay Boys Dutch Crunch Sandwiches had a pop-up location here. Their food is delicious! I split a Crown Club with my husband! It was delish! A half a sandwich was all I needed! It was packed with ham, turkey, thick smoked bacon, Swiss, tomatoes, red onion, lettuce and finished off with a Chipotle Mayo! Please visit their location at 47th and Holly in KCMO! They have opened a dining area upstairs!

How I'm just now reviewing this spot truly surprises me, but I'm a fan of the Lenexa Public Market. I would recommend checking this spot out. I have really enjoyed seeing the market develop (new vendors, new pop-ups, events). It's amazing to see vendors move into new stalls and develop their craft. Of the current vendors we've had: Mr. D's - great coffee, love the donuts from their Shawnee location Topp'd Pizza - I became a fan of their original location near KU Med Butterfields - originally Kate Smith Soiree -- she did our wedding desserts! Red Kitchen - amazing tamales, fantastic breakfast burritos, and Ale is the sweetest lady Still need to try the other vendors, including Sohalia's, African Dream, and The Tasting Room It was a once in awhile spot for us initially, but now is more regular as we live in the area. It's great for grabbing a coffee after a workout at the Lenexa Rec Center, meeting friends for coffee or a bite, or a day / night date spot. Can confirm that the Friday Night Sound Bites in the summer are worth checking out at least once. They host a food truck for dinner, in addition to options to purchase from the vendors, and a local band. Bring your own chair, grab a bite, and enjoy some tunes. Excited to see what's to come from the Lenexa Market!

This place is a gem. Food options to make everyone in the family happy. Cozy up on a couch with board games or by the fire pits outside. This is a perfect spot to meet up with friends. Don't miss their concert series to enjoy some live music under the stars and Italian lights.

The idea of domestically-manufactured items or, in this case, even made in Kansas City is intriguing. The store is nicely done. Sure there are tacky tchotchkes, but there is something for everyone. Anyway, I got a coffee. It was very good and the barista was friendly. My disappointment is rooted in the store's name and that some things are not only not made in KC, but are not made in America. It feels like a two-star outcome when the store name is held up to reality, but I'll hesitantly add the third with hope they redouble efforts to stock more items of domestic origin. Anyway, back to the parking situation - if you get wonderful parking beware there are some lookie-loos. I don't want to brand anyone suspicious, but even on a weekend morning there was a sense of character presence if you catch my drift.

After an 18 month-long intensive infrastructure project to bring major updates and beautification to Mission's main drag, this local farmer's market, located in a grassy byway along the Rock Creek Trail between Reeds Road and Maple Street, helps add to Mission's "hometown downtown" feel. For those who live in the area, it's easily accessible on foot via the streamway trail and/or Johnson Drive, and for those who drive in, parking is plentiful and easily accessible at city lots at Outlook and on Woodson Rd., which offer access to the trail. Local businesses ScriptPro, Shortstop BP, and Casey Bros. Sinclair along Johnson Drive also have arrangements with the city to allow parking, and there is a ton of angle parking on the street due to the recent upgrades. The market is new, but already has a good number of vendors setting up awnings on every Saturday, 7 a.m. - 1 p.m., through September. In addition to produce vendors, several local shops have kiosks, including Dips and Sips, with their massive cinnamon rolls, and Werner's with their sausages. Vendors also sell popcorn, baked goods, local honey, plants, flowers, cheeses, soaps and lotions, farm fresh eggs, meats, and jams and jellies, to name a few. The market is open air and spread out along a popular dog walking trail, so there is plenty of space for pets, a grassy expanse for kids to play, as well. There was live folk music this morning, and I ran into Mission's mayor and his wife, who noted that bench seating and canopies will be added as the project progresses. As a resident of Mission, one thing I appreciate is a sense of small-town community in an area that's metro-suburban, and projects like this really add to the neighborly, community feel. The first couple of Saturdays of the Market, rain has been an issue, but today's market was sunny and hot, and lots of people, vendor and customer alike, were out early. Lots of visiting with vendors, and just a really great, friendly community experience. I'll look forward to watching this neat new farmer's market grow, from the ground up.
