Not sure what was going on at this Nordstrom because it seems to me that every single sales associate my friend and I had contact with seemed to be snobby, uptight, and rude. They definitely gave off a vibe of the "I'm better than you and you don't look the part, so I'm not going to give you standard customer service". Barely any smiles were given and there was absolutely no engagement whatsoever. The sales associates (shoe, MAC, skincare department) made no effort in starting or keeping a conversation with my friend and I, which made the transactions extremely uncomfortable. The snarky remarks they'd give us were annoying and rude as well. We were purchasing items from the store, so I didn't understand why they were belittling us and not valuing us as customers. Also, as my friend and I got in the car, we noticed a napkin at the bottom of our Nordstrom bag with a huge grease stain. Uhm, ew. I'll probably never come here again as I did not feel welcome or special whatsoever. Charles from the Bistro Cafe, on the other hand, was EXTREMELY kind, respectful, and caring. I bought my Nuna stroller almost a year ago and just started using the bigger seat attachment since my little one is now almost one. I was having issues with the canopy staying open and covering my baby. On one of my many shopping trips to Nordstrom, I decided to just walk by the kids' section to ask for any advice. Julie was working that day and quickly came to my assistance. She assessed my stroller and immediately saw that the canopy was not latched in properly and that I was missing a part of the sun shade (which I tossed into storage along with the other accessories) that zips in the front. She solved all my problems in literally 30 seconds. My canopy now solidly opens and stays put. She was so knowledgeable and helpful! She is definitely an asset to the Nordstrom kids' department. Yuck, customer service is lacking even more in the shoe department than before. This one curly haired girl in the BP department was NOT happy when I asked if she could help me. I was even kind enough to ASK--I could've just been like, "Get me this shoe." Yeah, it's the half yearly sale and you're probably stressed, but put on a FREAKING smile and don't give me an exasperated look. SUCK IT UP. OK. Not as crowded as other Nordstrom's. It has all the stock you need, but I find the staff here sightly less friendly than other locations. Recently came to the beauty counter to get some help and it took about 10 minutes before a single associate acknowledged I was there. I also find it annoying to return items because if you buy from different departments, you have to return your items to different departments. i went to this nordstrom a few days ago after not being there for a long time. i had bought so many expensive items there including st.johns. upon return i noticed the store was different and all the original employees were no longer there. it was pure tacky looking items compared to what was there previously, resulted in me not knowing what to get for my daughter that really made sense. i took a while because i have never seen the store with such low end items. i noticed security people starts making their rounds looking t me. i ignored them them know that they idiots cannot hold a candle to me. after purchasing a few items, not the best for my daughter, i went to the cafe and bought something to eat. when i sat down to eat a trashy looking overweight woman came in with security passing by pretending as they were just passing by. while he went inside a room she was there on her phone communicating. immediately after i got through eating and was exiting, the little washed out man in his 999 cents uniform came out of nowhere followed me to the exit door. as i was told a fe years ago by a white man who is an attorney, he said most of the crimes that are carried out in this country are carried out by whites. but they do not expose them, they are covered up to give the impression that every othr race are criminals except whites. blacks are also brone to have more diagnosis than whites. pure lies! the only next lies for them to tell is that more whites will be in heaven than black. surprise on judgement day! god is no respector of color or person. hell was made for the wicked and has no color line!. i am a person who works almost every day and earned my very healty and homest living. more than even the store manager and district manager. therefore , i did not dignify there nonsense as i am allergic to trash! read more

I'm writing about the MAC in this Nordstrom. I wanted to get me some new foundation, liquid liner, and gel liner. This petite little girl approached me asking me if I need some help. Of course I said yes, and I told her what I needed. Honestly..she looked like a deer caught in the headlights. She just looked so afraid and self conscious while helping me the whole time. I felt pretty uneasy. When she had all of my products in her hand, an elder lady of maybe 50+ years just looked at the MAC artist and was like giving her the dead stare. She was pretty mean to her saying, "I NEED HELP." The MAC girl was saying she thought she was going to look around and the lady proceeded to say, "No..you completely left me when I needed your assistance. Are you going to continue helping me or not?" The girl said, "of course..I just thought.." Old lady, "Well obviously you're helping her now." (Pointing at me.) Mac girl- "Oh no, I can help you." And she leaves me... really really bad customer service. She doesn't know how to handle multiple customers. She's not the most confident types, and you can tell she gets scared or something. But, for the most part, she took my products, so I was left with nothing. Luckily, another artist, who was talkative and very helpful helped me out. THANK GOODNESS. Don't like it there though. It has been a few years since I visited this location. Had a long list of items that I needed to pick up from Cle de Peau and Sisley Paris. Most of them were products I have used in the past and I could have easily ordered on Nordstrom.com. Since I was in the area, I thought would check out the counters and see what's new. The Sisley counter was packed, so I decided to start off at the CdP side. Was a little surprised when I noticed the sales person (RK) behind the CdP counter took a deep breath, sighed and half rolled her eyes before she reluctantly greeted me with a hello. Thought it was odd because if I had any complaints about my Nordstrom shopping experience in the past, it would be their sales people being overly enthusiastic about showing me products. Well I assumed in the beginning that she was having a bad day. Said hello back politely and asked her how she was doing. Then I proceeded to telling her that I had a list of things I was interested in purchasing. I was interested in getting color matched for two of the new CdC foundations. She tried the powder foundation on her inner wrist and picked out a color. Didn't offer to try it on me. I wondered if I caught her at a bad time, perhaps right when she was about to go on a much needed bathroom break. I was about to feel the texture of the cream foundation when she told me to get it along with the powder foundation because that's what most people do anyway. By this point, I was quite certain that I wasn't welcome to play with the testers and she was trying to rush me out of her way. Mind you it had only been about 3 mins since I got to the counter. I was no longer in the mood to check out new products. Told the lady I would pick up the powder foundation and the other items on my list. By the time I got to the 3rd item on my list, I could tell the lady was not in the mood to keep bending down to find the items for me. There was plenty of full on eye rolling and she was visibly displeased. After I got to the 5th item on the list, I decided it was time to wrap it up and call it a day. I can always pick up other CdC items online. During the time she was looking for my products, I couldn't help but noticed the guy at the Sisley counter was super friendly and happy to be around his customers. I supposed if I had decided to start my shopping on Sisley my whole shopping experience would have been completely different. When the CdC lady was ringing me up, she seemed to warm up a bit. She offered to look up items that she was out of stock on and ship them to me with shipping waived. I declined as I was trying to leave asap. Turns out she is the business manager (!) of the CdC counter when I saw her business card after I left. This is definitely the worst shopping experience I have had at ANY Nordstrom location. read more

I used to shop at Nordstrom's because I thought they sold quality products and if there is a problem they will fix it, not the case at the Arcadia store. I bought a pair of fidelity jeans that wore a hole in less than a year of regular use. By my evaluation the fabric was not strong enough to withstand regular uses, not the quality product I was expecting. The return policy must have changed because instead of offering to replace them, they offer to patch it for half the cost of the jeans (not cheap). Living on a student budget I was expecting to be investing in a quality product, but what I got was far less and was left to deal with the mess myself. Wow, the NARS counter at this Nordie's is awesome! I was repeatedly asked if I needed help and the makeup artist was very helpful in my selections. Yes, I did indeed go for the orange eyeshadow (which looks rockin' on). And because I'm obviously a makeup junkie, I qualified for a free lipgloss. Yay! Nordstroms is just an oasis of calm in the middle of pre-Black Friday madness. I do have to say though find parking on the other end of the mall because they're redoing the parking lot and so there's no more valet in front of Nordies (not that I think it's worth the valet). read more

I love Nordstroms! So it doesn't have the cachet of Saks, Neiman, Bendel's, or Barney's... but Arcadia is two skips and three hops away from being Podunk in terms of high fashion anyway (a lot of Kate Spade and Louis Vuitton stay-at-home moms, but few Chloe, YSL and MJ-appreciating 20somethings). Which means that there are occasionally very expensive things (mostly bags) marked down significantly, and unlike other Nordies locations such as in The Grove or anywhere else on the West side, they're not snapped up instantly. By the way, the corollary is that Uggs in every color and every size are always to be found here. Another upside to being from the suburbs and not surrounded by skinny blond chicks. (Not that I wear Uggs or anything...) I think my review is mostly for this specific Nordies because it's in my hometown, but I just love this department store in general. My old roommate used to buy shoes from Nordies, wear them literally for an entire season, then return them - no questions asked. This is horrifying for the rest of us, I admit, but the truth is that the stuff just ends up at Nordstroms Rack. They literally have the best return policy on earth. It's even better than Costco's ever since Costco decided that appliances could only be returned within three months. Also, you don't need a receipt to return anything - they have everything they need in the little barcode sticker they stick on your stuff. Another major, major plus going for Nordstroms is that most of their stuff is online, as well. Other stores have disgusting, scary user interfaces, but Nordstroms's is clean, easy to use, and, most importantly, reflects all the sale prices that are in store. And whomever decided that it would be shrewd to allow customers to keep things in-cart for two weeks clearly went to b-school. Managerial master stroke, I tell you. I suppose the downside is that now I rarely have to step in the store, but really... does it matter when the online store is so good and has stuff so well priced? They do have one major artifice going against them, though, in the form of walking your purchase over to you around the counter instead of just handing it over the counter. Is this supposed to make me feel happier or something? This specific Nordies also has a really friendly old guy who stands near the exit (to the lot, not the mall) and greets everyone coming in. I have no idea who he is and why he's there, but he makes me happy, if only because I only see him in THIS Nordstroms, and THIS is where I grew up and where I have always seen him. I know I'm singing praises and sprinkling fairy dust everywhere here, but keep in mind that the shoe department is also a little classic Nordstroms - namely, some of the clerks are really egregious snobs. They size you up and down to see whether you're worth sidling up to only to fawn over you after you make a purchase - even if they are just Uggs. P.S. They've also recently begun stocking Jo Malone. Score again, most likely from the same guy who decided on the extended in-cart time. (If you still don't know what I'm talking about with respect to the shopping cart thing, try adding something to your Shopbop cart and then leaving your computer for a while. Nordstrom sales assoc: Ohh Thai! I love Thai food! ....really? Are you kidding me? 1. You're Asian. I expect you to be more knowledgeable about differences between Asian countries and cultures. 2. You work in Arcadia... land of the Taiwanese and Taiwanese Americans. You really have no excuse to confuse Taiwanese and Thai people when you spend half your day in San Gabriel Valley. Don't be so ignorant. Educate yourself and make the effort to familiarize with your customer base and demographics. Wouldn't want you to be walking around Nordstrom insulting half your customers. read more

The selection here is great, and I love to just stroll around before choosing something to purchase. It's really clean, and even though the place may appear as 'high end', the customer service reps are very friendly and there's no snooty vibe towards people who don't 'fit the image'. The bathrooms are always clean and there's even a lounge where women can relax or look after their babies. Even though they have the most liberal return policies, the quality of the products they put on the shelf already prevents most of that. Whenever something is at Nordstrom, I can bet that it's a good quality. All Nordstrom stores are awesome combined with great customer service but this place is particular - due to a chronic illness, I fell sick here before and the customer service reps really went out of their way to help me. It was embarrassing but I was really touched that one of the assistant managers sat by me for a while and brought me tea and pain killers while I was rolling around in pain LOL. She even said that I can call her if I don't make it home or if I need extra help (I managed to get home safely). I forgot her name but I really wish I can recommend her for an employee award or something. It's these types of things that really gives this place a good name. read more

The last two times I went to buy clothes at Nordstom were amazing! I walked in with a t-shirt and shorts and in 90 minutes the mens department transformed me into a real business man. They knew exactly what I needed and they were up on the latest styles. Most of all, I LOVED the customer service. The other time I went to the casual men's department. Some guy with a cap, tatoos and earings asked if he could help. At first I was a bit nervous. However, he was not only knowledable and friendly, he had a great sense of style. Just wanted to vent about a poor customer service experience here. Usually this Nordstrom's is great, as most are. But recently in the young women's BP section, I had a bad experience with a customer service rep. First, she forgot to put one of the items I had purchased in my bag, I could have left without it if I didn't notice (majorly idiotic!). Second, I used a $20 Nordstrom voucher, and even though I mentioned I had it, she rang up my credit card without scanning it. So then she had to start an entirely new transaction, this time she scanned my voucher. She said she had voided the previous charge, but a week or 2 later I check my statement online, and lo and behold it's still there! So I had to spend 15 minutes on the phone with a Nordstrom card customer service rep to resolve this issue. (Love the customer service for the Nordstrom card, btw, highly recommended). But this in-store worker was just completely incompetent and made a relatively simple purchase a way bigger headache than it needed to be. Thanks for nothing, sales lady. Man, the Arcadia mall is murderous when it comes to parking on a Sunday... it's shocking, even with so many parking spots that it's still sooooo competitive to yank out a parking stall! Anyways, we parked... if this review was about Arcadia's parking it'd be 5 NEGATIVE stars out of 5!!! Haha. So, Nordy's... great service is to be expected and we weren't disappointed. The wife finally decided to take the plunge and get some TOM'S... you know... the hippie-ish canvas shoes!! You buy one and they donate one to the less fortunate. I personally think the TOM'S are beautiful shoes and suit any attire... so kudos to my wife for making an awesome fashion choice! The representative that helped us was awesome. Not only was he NO-PRESSURE on the sales, but apparently also owns 7 pairs of Tom's himself and gave great advice to us. He advised that she get a size smaller because the canvas will stretch over time. HIs personal touch and personalized expertise on the subject matter were exceptional. In the midst of the jungle they call "WOMEN'S SHOE DEPARTMENT", our representative created such a calm aura that the shoe buying experience became oddishly enjoyable. We will return... per my wife's wishes, so that I too can enjoy the comfort of TOM'S... sigh, they're nice and all, and actually have some awesome designs... but c'mon!!! 'Memba how Nordstrom says that returns are no problem? Yeah, this department didn't get the message. With the receipt sitting next to the shoe box, I was repeatedly asked about...wait for it....the receipt. The whole approach was wrong, wrong, wrong. I also went looking for some Hudson/Joe's etc jeans. People! Learn from me - do not bother to shop here. The saleslady was great & knew her jeans but they have NO merchandise, NONE. If only I had followed my own previous review, I repeat: ***Bottom line: it's a store to visit if you need to replace a staple (lipstick, whatever). Go figure! so i grew impatient cause Suzanne looked over at me and saw me waiting for her, she did not even acknowledge why i was there or cared if i needed any assistance, cause she saw me holding the items with receipt in hand. SO then i said "excuse me, I have a quick return.." THEN without allowing me to finish my sentence, she immediately said rudely " I'm currently with a customer, but I'm sure watches department are able to help you" than she turned her back and began telling the lady how great she looked, it was like a movie. i was stunned! and honestly the lady she was "complimenting" didn't even care about her opinions, she didn't even look at the SA, she was probably annoyed of Suzanne as well, she was probably thinking she got lucky with an what i call "influenced shopper" shoppers who are tricked into buying something they really don't like when they get home. -and WE ALL Know the bitch was trying to get her commission!! its like do you really think sweet talking will make her buy those damn $68.00 earrings?! I got Toms in the wrong size and and came to exchange the pair for the right ones. Luckily, I had Tony the shoe department's manager to help me out. Not only was he nice to look at but was very polite and courteous as well. Tony was patient and accommodating trying to find my shoe size in the back. The special wool fabric Toms were completely sold out and so he helped me return my purchased item and pre-order the pair that I wanted. Im excited even though it will be almost two months until I get my special pair! Its been a very nice experience. I just had my makeup done at Charlotte Tilbury with Dani! I'm absolutely happy about my whole experience! Dani was so sweet in making sure I was satisfied with colors she picked and also making sure I was pleased about her makeup application. Whenever she suggested something 'out of my box' I let her do her thing (that's what I was there for, right?) and I was not disappointed! In the end she gave me a chart of all the different products she used on me. I wished I could've bought everything! I did get a couple things but will be returning next month for a makeup event with them and hopefully purchase more! I have mixed reviews about this particular Nordstrom's. I think the ladies and men that work at the cosmetics departments are absolutely wonderful as they really try to please the customers. They have great customer service skills when talking to the customers, and I know that as a 22 year old who usually goes to the mall dressed in shorts and a t-shirt, I'm not their particular focused clientele, but every single time I've walked in and needed help, everybody has been super friendly to me and willing to help me. The woman over at Shisedo's, the woman at La Mer, the man at the perfume counter .... super fabulous in helping me while I was simply picking out some Deborah Lippmann nail polishes. BUT, the women up in the customer service department are totally rude and pompous. The moment I walked up there to try to return an item because the lady down at the cosmetics counter did not have enough cash in her register, I could feel this wave of hostility wash over me. They looked over-made with their make-up and fake nails, and the smiles they were giving to their customers looked really snooty and fake. When it was my turn to return it, the woman took one look at me and said "Oh honey, this isn't where you return items. You need to do that downstairs. They'll take care of you." She pushed the item back to me and turned back to her computer ... and pretty much dismissed me. What nerve, right? So I tell her ..."I did, but the lady sent me up here." "Oh no dear, then you would have the paperwork to go along with the item." "Uh, she processed it on the computer and sent me here." She gave a big sigh and said "Okay, who helped you." So annoying, and it took her forever to get my e-mail address down correctly. It's not that difficult! But I got the cash and scooted out of there quickly. Just cause she was older, richer (probably) did not give her any reason for her to treat customers as if she was better than them. The other lady didn't look any better. So for that ... I am torn between 3/4 stars, so I give it a 3.5. read more

(and not like that you perverts) and Nordstrom is the one place where I can go, ask for my freakishly large size (11) and they actually have them and don't look at me like I'm crazy. I can tell them, bring me every size 11 black pump (3" heel or higher..) you have in stock and they will bring me every size 11 black pump (3" heel or higher)... I love that. I don't shop here much. Hardly ever. And there's a reason! I can find cheaper alternatives at dozens of other retailers. SURPRISINGLY this Nordstrom has never had a significance in my experiences where I can say I was truly pleased. The only thing I really like is the fashion creativity and the various choices they have of products. Lots to browse! The customer service has never stood out. Some days they're nice and others they don't even greet you even when they see you. No ones really helped me out in the way their company believes in and I don't know and understand why!! Reasons why I always come out empty handed. STORY TIME: I came in to browse and found a beautiful top with ruffles on the sleeve. The size that fit me had overwhelming/puffy sleeves and then I remembered they offer alterations. Not that I had ever inquired about it. The lady came to look at the top and automatically told me it couldn't be done. She said it would change the style of the top. I'm no seamstress but I pinched the fabric myself where I wanted it to be stitched and it in NO way changed the appearance. It just made it more subtle. And I suppose I could've done it at home and very well could have but it was an easy fix that the store offers to handle! So I passed. Could've made a sale but I guess they have too much money to care. This really makes up my mind about this store now and if I ever shop here again I KNOW NOT TO DEPEND ON ANYONE FOR HELP. read more

The shoe department is HORRIBLE! I brought my uggs to them to repair because i had a paint stain, and my promise date was 11/27. I didn't get a call Friday, and I didn't get one Saturday. So around 5pm Saturday, i decide to call them because i thought they lost my shoes. I call them and they said they were closed 11/26 and that's when the shoe repairs come in. So I thought it was already bad that they couldn't call to tell me they'd be late and told me they would be done 12/2. I didn't get a call until 12/3. To make matters worse, when i went there 12/5 I had to wait for 30 minutes because they lost my shoes, and the manager had to come out and help search for them. I look at my uggs, and my paint stain is still there. Not only was the stain not removed, my sand colored uggs were now a weird median between sand and chesnut colors. I asked to talk to the manager to get a refund on the cleaning service since they not only didn't clean it, but also ruined them...but he said since i didn't buy my shoes from their store, i couldn't get a new pair. Does it really matter that i didn't buy from them when the repair service was what messed my shoes up? I don't think so. All they offered was a complimentary cleaning service to THE SAME PLACE that ruined my uggs in the first place !!! Of course i said no. Thank you Victoria in Intimates. I had heard that Nordstroms had the best customer service in intimates and thought I'd give them a try. I was shopping for bras and Victoria was the one to help me. She took the time to make sure I had the right fit, and comfort. She also found very attractive styles that I normally wouldn't even attempt to try. I ended up buying 3 bras off the rack for myself, 3 for my daughter and 2 that Victoria ordered from the warehouse stock to be shipped to my home. I have never been so happy buying bras until now. Disclaimer: I love, love, love Nordstroms. And I still will. Where else can I find size 4.5 shoes and a decent petite section for my petite frame? Nordstroms, of course! I've been a loyal customer, as I'm in need of business casual clothing that fit. But this location, meh. I used to be a regular at this Nordstroms, whether it was to browse for clothing, shoes, bags, and jewelry. About 3-4 years ago, I encountered excellent customer service at the jewelry counters with one of the sales associates. But since then, after numerous visits...customer service has definitely gone downhill. Like any other business, you would expect decent, respectful service to all customers who come out to visit and browse through merchandise. But at this particular location, it seems like you either have to flag down someone to help you, or you must appear like you're going to make a purchase (e.g. have a pile of merchandise in your hands). And the selective service to certain customers...I especially do not appreciate that. I encountered this at the jewelry counter this past 2 weeks, with full intention to purchase a necklace for myself. The sales associate appeared enthusiastic with other customers but very curt and had an attitude of "you probably can't afford that." Similar encounter with the clothing area on the second floor, except the sales associates blatantly ignored me while addressing the other customers. And the sales floor was not even busy. I may look young, but I obviously would not be shopping here if I couldn't afford the merchandise. Nonetheless, associates need to treat everyone who walks in, regardless of making a purchase or not, with respect and courtesy. These are just a few things I can think of. But every time I walk in here in the past few years, I definitely do not feel welcomed. Rather, I have a feelings of uneasiness and disappointment that the service has declined in quality. Hence the 3 stars. Bottom line: I am still going to shop at Nordstroms online...for now. But my search begins for other businesses where customer service is seen as a number one priority. read more

Nordstrom is my favorite department store. There items are pricey but the quality is what you are getting with it. You also get very good service which of course is most important. This past 2 weeks I went back and forth trying to decide on my birthday handbag. Well it was a designer bag, a first for me so I really wanted to make it count. I met Kimmie who was very nice and very kind to take the time to go over all the styles. Now keep in mind service is very important and these sales people also make commission so if you like the service you want to make sure you get the sale to that person that helped u! I ended up buying a clutch which I then went back to return with her for a Balenciaga purse which she helped me set up. Now I had the bag for about a week when I noticed the ring handles where the strap comes onto had some scratches. I was researching how to clean it with metal cleaner or how to fix it bla bla, when my girlfriend suggested calling Nordstrom to see what the could do. Well I called, spoke to another rep who said they could do an exchange if I brought receipt. Now I know when I got the bag they only had one in stock, but they seemed to replenish it so it worked out that I didn't even have to go and wait for shipping. I went by when Kimmie was on duty an hour later, she swapped them out no issues and even helps me leather clean it. Now I was with my god mother who ended up wanting to look at a bag. Well guess who that sale went to? And she also ended up getting a Nordstrom cc. Now, doesn't mean to say you have to purchase something to get service, but if you want to you will feel very well taken care of while getting it done! Thanks Kimmi! They're just okay. Hell no, I've never actually bought anything for myself, are you kidding me??? Shiiiiiiiit, Anchor Blue is where I kick it at, but anyways. I've purchased perfume for my mom from Nordy's. They carry this stuff called "Hana Amori", or "Ana Amorie", who fucking knows. Shit's expensive too, it's like $70 a bottle. Hell, my mom said I should have given her the cash instead. In retrospect, I should have. Oh, and the cool thing, don't know if they still do or not. They, at one time, sold the KISS fragrances--each member had their own scent. Damn, I love how Gene Simmons's business mind works! No, I never did get to buy them, I wouldn't have used them anyway, they would have been used for "collection purposes". They were just too expensive. I'll just stick to the KISS Kondoms. read more
