TJMAXX has a wide range of merchandise with reasonable price. I like to shop at different branches. You can find nice apparel for each and everyone in the family, accessories, glasswares, beauty products, dinnerwares and cookwares , utensils, appliances, handbags, shoes, bedding, and more. Monorovia branch is a nice one. It is connected to HomeGoods which is fun to shop at and very convenient too. There are ample parking spots shared with other businesses. The store was clean. The staff were nice. It's a great department store to shop at and find branded merchandise at lower price compared to other stores. read more

I'm not sure why it has mixed reviews with one complaint saying they missed their work shift lol like why go shopping right before your shift? Yeah it's crowded with stuff but they all are and thankfully it's not messy like other places. I've never had a rude experience like ppl complain about and I've been going here for years. In fact everyone has been pretty nice. I don't really come for the clothes but for hair products, beauty stuff and seasonal items. What a great store in a great location. T.J Max is a one stop shop, and this one is no different. This store offers everything from indoor home to outdoors supplies, games, clothing, gifts, gift wrap, electronics and so much more. The best part of this store is that they carry some great name brands and non name brands at very inexpensive prices, I am always excited for a great deals. Employees were fully staffed and very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable of where items were. All shelf's and products were fully stocked and in great condition. Parking here is a breeze, huge parking lot! This plaza is being fully redeveloped with a few new stores and great ones at that, just in time for those holiday shopping days. Monrovia now finally has a TJ Maxx (grand opening was today). Located in the same plaza as Michael's, took over the old Albertson's Market. This TJ Maxx is unique in which it shares the space with HomeGoods (and seems a little smaller than other TJ Maxx locations). Sadly this TJ Maxx is not a runway location (the one in Pasadena is though for those interested). Being that today was the grand opening day, I was pretty disappointed that there were no grand opening specials. However, those opening a store card would get 10% off their total purchase (but this is available year round, not just for the grand opening). But regardless of store specials, it was definitely busy today (but wasn't overly crowded at least). Employees were friendly and greeted customers as they entered the store during my visit (came this afternoon with my husband around 4 pm). The ladies restroom (towards the back of the store, near the shoes) was clean upon this visit. On this visit, I was interested in the luggage department (towards the back corner of the store), which was on the small side. There wasn't as many items to look through. Although on the smaller side, I have a feeling I will still frequent this location because my mom is a huge fan of TJ Maxx, Marshalls and the like (and she likes it when I drive her places to go shopping). Glad to welcome the new addition of TJ Maxx to Monrovia and look forward to when this location starts their yellow tag clearance. read more

Items in lock up. Had to push a button to call associate. Waited for associate for about 10 minutes. Associate arrives and says, "I don't think I have the key." WTF? I wait again while she finds one. She comes back, walks the merchandise to the front, I follow her. I asked, "I can't pay now? I've done enough waiting." She says no sorry, you have to wait in line. Left. F that. Lost business. Just returned several items, one without the receipt and one with receipt. The cashiers were very kind. However, when I decided to purchase an item that the cashier pointed out looked damaged and was, I asked for a discount as I searched for long and those were the closest to what I needed. The manager was not kind at all, glared at me, asked some interrogating questions, and offered $2 off. Walked away without a, Have a nice day, nothing. Very friendly employees at the Monrovia TJ Maxx/ Home Goods. I walked in to make a return but ended up spending 2 hours shopping here. During this pandemic era, it's extremely difficult to find comfy shoes online. While I was browsing in the shoes department, Benny asked if I needed help. Benny was very friendly and pleasant and somehow he talked me into opening a TJ Maxx credit card, lol. While I was at the Jewelry department waiting for my credit car approval, I told Kim that I was having a hard time finding shoes my size. Sara from the shoes department was extremely helpful and placed calls to other TJ Maxx to locate my size. She asked them to put them on hold for me. I was very happy with the customer service at this store. I have shopped at other TJ Maxx, Marshall's, and Home Goods in this area. By far, this store is the best with customer service, cleanliness, as well as merchandise variety, I also got a 10% discount for my first purchase. read more

Raelyyn, the manager is not experienced at all. I am trying to return some items that bought in South Lake Tahoe with E-receipt from Christmas shopping there, but this branch can not take it because somehow the e-receipt was printed a year in advance. They won't even take it returned with store credit. This branch manager asks me to return it to the original store. Are you kidding?! I called the TjMaxx South Lake Tahoe and spoke to the manager and the manager it should be a easy fixed and they should be able to returned the items with no trouble. Disappointed! They have such a huge store yet they were lacking in so many things. I read all of the reviews below before heading over last night and I completely agree with Jim D. Although it looks like there are plenty of women's shoes, that wasn't the case. They don't have too many sizes, and majority of them are hideous! I thought TJ Maxx was one of the higher end department stores, but now it looks like Ross and Marshalls bumped up onto the list. Staff was super unfriendly, didn't even want to crack a smile at anyone. Definitely not one of the places I'd recommend going to. I picked up a purse that had a noticeable stain on the back but that I really liked anyway and asked at the register if I could maybe get a small discount because of it (mind you this wasn't one of their expensive brands, it would have been a $5 to $10 adjustment). The cashier basically called me a scammer "you're just going to go home and try to remove it" but asked the manager anyway who yelled quite loudly "that's fucking ridiculous." I was mortified and just walked out. They could have just said "no I'm sorry" and I probably would have purchased it anyway because I liked it so much. Who treats their customers like this? Don't shop at this specific tj maxx or home goods they allow anti maskers in here and disregard everyone else. This is a corporate problem and it's very unfair to the other shoppers. This is my nearby go to store. I find a lot of home finds in Homegoods. I really enjoy this location because there is also a Tjmaxx in the same location. I had a return today that included jewelry and I proceeded to make a line in the normal line. Once it was my turn the cashier let me know that I could only return my jewelry at the jewelry counter even though I had an exchange. I asked them if they were sure but they proceeded to let me know that I had to do my return at the jewelry counter. (He even confirmed with the front end surpriser) Ariel, who was the attending the jewelry counter let me know this was a mistake and that I needed to go to the other line again. She knew I was upset because I had already made line and was confused but she simply smiled and confirmed with her manager (on the phone) that I had to make my return at the line where I first was initially. Instead of just telling me this information she actually helped me checkout and let me know that they were new employees who had made this mistake. I appreciate this employee because she stepped in when no one wanted to help me and this is the prime reason why there needs to be a better system to make sure all employees know how to respond to certain situations and not just say things without confirming them with management. I've bought thousands of dollars of solid 14k gold jewelry from TJMaxx never had any doubts. I love their suite of stores and always trusted them. However this purchase and this particular store incident and selling of makes me wary now. I am into the 4 leaf clover gold pieces especially, solid gold fine jewelry only. I only like solid gold from the solid gold section and always go there right away to check inventory. Anyway, I bought this piece 9 months ago from the solid gold section locked display which was priced with a 14k solid gold price. I never had any doubts until I ran into an identical item at the Glendale store this week. I talked to the sales woman at Glendale since I became suspect since it was in the gold over silver section and asked her did they ever sell that necklace by Rachel Zoe and in solid gold. And she mentioned never seeing it and that she had worked there for some time. She mentioned that this particular brand sells mostly gold over silver not solid gold and had asked me how much I was charged. I told her $159.99 or $129.99 solid gold price which made me very scared and also her concerned for me. The identical item at the Glendale store was marked as no-solid gold at $59.99. She said that they are careful in Glendale and that the tag could have been switched and thus incorrectly marked and that I should go home and check the tiny stamp in the necklace which I needed a microscope to read. I rushed home hoping I was wrong about my fears and suspicions but sadly, long and behold it was true, I was DUPED by TJMaxx Monrovia and sold a non-solid gold item as solid gold... a FAKE, COUNTERFEIT, and overcharged. I would have never bought a fake or questioned my purchase until I saw it at Glendale.I immediately called the Monrovia store who put me through to the manager twice. I explained the situation and told him I didn't have the receipt but only the approximate time of purchase and the amount. He said they couldn't do anything... um for selling me fake, counterfeit gold at solid gold prices? I don't buy non gold pieces. I was duped and sold fake non solid gold. I looked through my credit card statements and found the credit card and date I purchased it, I called back to mention that if they could just look into their records. All stores keep records. He dismissed me without care saying that it was distribution that priced it. But someone could have changed the tags and put it in the solid gold section. I was duped and sold counterfeit fake gold. Don't let them trick you and sell you fake gold!!!! Don't buy gol from them unless you bring a microscope to check your purchase. They don't stand by their products and jewelry sales practices seriously, just dismissing me because they don't want to look into their records to do further investigation. I paid for 100% solid gold but I was had. They sell FAKE products just like they sell recalled baby products and are being sued. read more

I picked up a purse today with two clearance stickers. One said $64 and another one, above it, said $49. I reasonably assumed this meant the purse was $49. At the register after waiting for two cashiers go back and forth for 15 minutes I was informed that the bag was $64 and someone made a mistake with the $49 tag. I asked that they honor the rate of $49 as that is clearly the advertised price. I was told they couldn't and that even a manager would not be able to make that call. Having worked in retail for 20 years I find it very odd that no one at the store would have the authority to make a $15 price adjustment. The amount isn't even the point. You should honor your posted prices. It was the store's mistake and they should have dealt with it internally rather than make me pay the higher rate. I'll be sharing this post so people can be aware of your bait and switch pricing. I was really happy the store opened and I'm very disappointed now. I'll stick with Marshall's down the street. I have visited this location twice since it opened. I will not shop at this racists store ever again. When I returned an item with my receipt and tags still on the item, they proceed to inspect , then call a manager to say that the tag is not on item. When you try things on , there are times the tag does come off. II was insulted. They gave me a hard time , then refused to accept my return. I will let anyone who listens. Great store and this location is good too. Mainly the location because their are other good stores in the same shopping center (Marshall's, Michael's, five below, Ross). But I notice their baby section is very small, with little options. I also notice that the cashiers are all wearing gloves. Makes no sense to me. I get that they're protecting themselves but do they know their spreading the germs that's on their gloves to us costumers? I understand that they want to be sanitary and they wipe down each cart but they've also taken down the sanitizers they used to have at each cash registers counter (for their customers). Not sure why they did that and why they have cashiers wearing gloves. If you're gonna wear the gloves at least leave us customers the sanitizer and remove your gloves after every customer. I'm not commenting because I'm concerned about the virus I'm saying this because it doesn't make sense to require us customers to go in with mask and keep with guidelines while you all are spreading germs with wearing the same gloves the whole time you're dealing with different customers, cash and products in one shift. read more
