This is a solid Target, nicely stocked and pretty clean and organized when I went. It wasn't super busy but as many Targets, constant stream of customers and a slight line for the self check out. No worries though. I actually had to kill some time here because my friend had to transfer my body over to my brother, or was it vice versa, but it was one of those and it was enough to kill some time before I was scooped up. There's a Starbucks here too, so the same Target fare as per every other location. If you need assistance, just reach out to the various red shirt staff throughout. And remember to use your Target Circle App for deals and potentially even $5 gift cards depending on what you get. Not bad! read more

This review is for Brian, from the tech/electronic department. We came in looking for an Apple Pencil 2nd generation (a different Target said that this particular Target had one in stock). Turns out, it was actually sold out, but Brian was so willing to problem solve and help us figure out who would have the product we were looking for. He researched the type of iPad we had and what Apple pencils would be compatible with it, and it turns out there is another type of Apple Pencil that is compatible with our iPad that they HAD IN STOCK! And it was $20 cheaper than the Apple Pencil we were looking for!! All this to say, Brian went above and beyond his call of duty. His customer service was excellent, the most excellent I've ever experienced from Target!! Thank you Brian, you were such a lifesaver. read more

***UPDATE (scroll to the bottom- -08/25/25)*** Once again, Target DUARTE has lived up to its already sub-par reputation. While multiple communities are deep in the throws of a major health crisis, this store still fails to keep its shelves adequately stocked with staple items (hand sanitizer, antibacterial wipes, DRINKING WATER, etc.) that have rapidly become beyond necessary for each and every one of us. As a loyal/regular consumer of this particular location, I visited the store at least three times over the course of a week and a half. Each time I returned to the store the SAME shelves REMAINED bare! Really???? Additionally, I visited the store yesterday evening only to find that there was barely any drinking water on the shelves AND the hand sanitizer and wipes sections were non-existent. The cashier who helped me informed me that a brand new shipment had been delivered that morning and by the late afternoon EVERYTHING HAD BEEN BOUGHT OUT. I'm officially over this store. On any given day they've proven over and over to be inconsistent and unreliable. And, now, as we attempt to navigate a major health cro this store can't even keep up with the fundamentals of 'supply and demand'. I'm done. *UPDATE*: 08/25/25 I went into the store to pick up my usual staple items and of course they were ALL OUT OF WATER (with the exception of two off-brand 24-packs sitting on an empty shelf)! Not to mention, they were out of ground turkey, a particular kind of frozen fruit as well as OTHER typical household food necessities that should be in stock routinely. I guess I should've known that I had no chance of scoring boxes of my favorite water given they're currently on sale.. it's like the minute certain items go on sale at that store something equivalent to a 'tornado' rips through it like it's the 'end of days' [sarcasm inserted here]. Bottom line: if I had the time to navigate to another location I certainly would. I LOVE Target. Definitely not a Walmart person....Lol. I enjoy and prefer the drive-up option because it's convenient & I don't spend as much $$. Whenever I do go in the store Target makes sure I buy things I don't need....LOL. I think most Target ppl know exactly what I'm talking about.....hahaha. It's always clean and organized. Starbucks is there in case you need some coffee. There's plenty of parking and drive-up spaces. The longest I've waited for them to bring my stuff was probably 10 minutes and that's because they were really busy. Returning or exchanging stuff at Target is the easiest thing ever. They're really good with that. All of their associates are nice, welcoming, and friendly. I mostly use the self check-out, but when there's a long line I do go to a cashier. Most of the time those lines are shorter because ppl prefer self check-out now. During holiday season they always have great deals! This Target is one of the rudest Target I have been to. They don't care if your order you place for pickup is ready in time or not. I aalso used my teacher credit discount a couple of months prior here and came back after I noticed I didn't get the 20% discount on my items. They stated that some items weren't included. I asked them to show me a list of what was not included in the discount. They couldn't find the list and stated that their computers do not make mistakes. They also let their supplies deplete to where the shelves are bare. Go to the Target in Pasadena. Well stocked and nice people. They honor the teachers' discount without issue. read more

I'm sorry, but really bad customer service. I needed help getting a scientific calculator from technology, but they were locked up on the hanger. I asked for help twice, they said they'd call, no one came. Eventually I accidentally ripped the packaging hanger off the shelf at the same time two employees walked past by me. I told them what happened to it, and explained I didn't get any help. Ricky said "that's fine", walked away, and laughed at me alongside with their co-worker. I remember working with them back in 2020- they were never nice. Compared to the East Pasadena and the West Covina locations, this store is smaller and thus has a smaller selection. They still manage to stock my favorite salads in the produce section. The shelves are well stocked and store displays always appear organized and clean. Shout out to the loss-prevention guy for thwarting a smash-and-grab robbery on the night of Jan 12. As the thief tried to escape, she punched the poor employee in the face but he took the punishment like a champ. New update on the Target app: So they've got a new addition to the app which I use frequently. I think you should give it a try if you can. I thought that the ease with which we can pick up our grocery order using Drive up is just wonderful. That's just one of the things I love about using my Target Mobile app's Drive up pick up feature. It allows us to do social distancing, and still buy the things our family needs. The Target Associates are accommodating and very helpful, as well friendly during these crazy times. The Target app has a new feature which allows you to indicate which side you want the associate to place your groceries in and it's very helpful. I find the Duarte location of 'Target,' rather convenient!!!! Anyways, I switched off these branches when I formerly worked in Arcadia (and now again). They own super clean restrooms!!!! The one star off is from the extreme long lines during week day lunch hours which I guess it's normal especially during the Pandemic. But recently their cat food section has become atrocious - barely stocked at all and the few items I was actually able to find today are priced significantly higher than Von's! Ended up placing a $120 order at Chewy since Target's s halves were basically empty. The last visit here kind of left a sour taste in my mouth. Went in about 20 minutes to closing time to pick up a few things. By the five minute mark, staff were assertively trying to tell people that the store was closed and to walk to the checkstand, and were following in our general direction to make sure that we were leaving. Look, we get it, you want to wind down and go home, but being pushy about it doesn't help. ... And after we get to the checkstand, we proceed to wait there for another 20 minutes or so in a half-Disneyland-sized-line with all the other customers still in the store; we could have easily spent a few of those minutes scanning the aisle and finding what we needed. So, basically pushing us to go wait when we could have spent that waiting time more resourcefully, fabulous. Fair enough, we'll spend our money elsewhere. Would spend so much more money here if I wasn't stalked by the employees the second that I stepped in the store for some reason, I'm always profiled at this target. Today I was followed all the way into the dressing rooms. A woman waited outside while I was dressing when I put the clothes out that I did not want,hung up on the hanger, she grabs them immediately. Even though the whole dressing room is a mess!!! When I stepped into my room there were dresses on the floor, shirts, pants everywhere but she wants to grab my items immediately? I am then followed into the makeup aisle by the same two men that were waiting outside the dressing room a little further out. I mentioned to security that a man and lady was carting a large dog around the store and were last seen near the reach in coolers. Manager David was unavailable, so I spoke to a Security posted by the front entrance. I was told there wasn't much he could do because the couple might claim the dog as a service animal. I replied, first the dog wore no vest and secondly for sanitary reasons, the shouldn't be allowed to ride in the cart. Security apologized and said he was unable to do anything. One of the employees here assumed I was trying to steal and run out of the store when I was walking to the self checkout (which is at the end of the registers, close to the entrance). When I stopped at the self checkout counter, the associate called out the security guard's name, who came running over. The associate stopped right next to me as I started scanning my items in confusion. I asked her if there was a problem and she awkwardly muttered that there wasn't. When the security guard showed up and asked her why she called him, she didn't say anything but glared at me. She continued to crowd only my checkout (standing RIGHT next to it and me, less than 1ft which is why I was suspicious as we've all been socially distancing since COVID) and finally moved after another customer asked her for help. It only hit me at the end of our brief, but grossly incompetent, interaction that she was ready to confront me because she assumed I was trying to steal from the store. I want to give huge kudos to her as well as Martha, Tim, and one lady who worked today at self check out with very beautiful eyes (I didn't catch her name) 5/14/21, I have had the best target experience ever from these three genuinely, professionally, and kindly, taking the time to help me out. Especially right before they close. I really appreciate these three so much. It meant a lot to me and I'm grateful for such amazing service. I can't wait to say hi to them again. They helped me with self check out, using the target shopping app, making sure I got my points for tonight, and were very personable and kind through the whole process. Martha helped me answer a question and she was very wonderful as well. I can rave about these three so much. They totally made my day and experience absolutely fantastic. I can't wait to come and look for more things that I may need here at target. There is a bunch of food, clothes, makeup, toiletries, and so much more. Like a higher end "Walmart" if you will. One of the worst Target stores I've ever shopped at! The store layout is very disorganized. There's usually only 2 regular cash registers open, which means long lines--self check out has been limited to 10 items or less. The staff working the regular lanes operate at an unbelievably slow pace. Drive-Up/grocery pickup is extremely inefficient at this store. It does not save me any time, as I usually ended up waiting 20min or more for my items. Additionally, I would occasionally like to use the electric scooter shopping cart option, as I have several invisible illnesses and deal severe chronic pain (often exacerbated by standing and shopping for more than 5min). However, I have not been able to locate a single electric scooter. The store is overall lacking in ADA accommodations--narrow aisles, staff or other guests abandoning carts in walkways, aisles, etc. Pharmacy staff is typically very rude as well. Overall, my experiences at this store have been consistent and frustrating. Avoid if you need ADA accommodations. ***The one bright spot at this store is a staff member named Lindsey, she's always been very kind and helpful.*** read more
