We finally made our purchase at Living Spaces and so far are very happy. Our leather recliner sofa and recliner are beautiful and comfortable. We did not feel the extended warranty was a worthwhile option but are hoping for the best. Flexsteel has its own detailed warranty and since we've never had a good extended warranty experience in the last thirty years (auto, appliances, electronics etc.) we feel like rolling the dice and paying for any repairs would offset the high price of the extended warranty offered. I have to say the shopping experience at Living spaces was the best of all other furniture stores we visited. There was no pressure and delivery was on time and exceptional. I've purchased furniture from Living Spaces before for my previous home. In my opinion, the quality is a step above places like IKEA or Ashley, although you're definitely paying more for it. We found a couch we really liked and purchased it, but when delivery day came, it wouldn't fit through our doorway. Now, I understand some of that responsibility falls on me. However, we specifically discussed the measurements with the salesperson before making the purchase. Instead of asking follow up questions or helping us determine whether the couch would actually fit, he seemed more interested in closing the sale. He never asked about doorway clearance, access, or any of the things that ultimately became a problem. As a result, we got stuck paying a delivery fee for a couch that couldn't even make it into the house. What frustrated me most is that this felt completely avoidable. A good salesperson should be helping customers avoid expensive mistakes, not creating them. After that mess, we had to go back and pick out another couch. This time we worked with a younger guy with glasses and the difference was night and day. He asked all the right questions, listened to our concerns, and gave us recommendations that actually worked for our space. Five stars for him. The furniture quality itself is still good, which is why I keep coming back. One thing I would skip though is the extended warranty. We bought a couch less than a year ago and also purchased the extended warranty for added peace of mind. When we recently tried to use the warranty to have the couch cleaned, our claim was denied. At this point, I don't need someone to simply tell the manager about my concerns--I need action and accountability. An extended warranty should provide the support customers are promised when making such a significant purchase. We were greeted immediately upon arrival, theres ample parking in their private lot, and we found an amazing set of chairs that we took home immediately. Justice, our associate, was not only helpful, patient, but incredibly detail oriented. Give her a raise. The chairs were marked at a discounted price and a great value. This was an EXTREMELY disappointing purchase and customer service experience. My household purchased the Imani Brown Modern table, and the first tabletop arrived with a weirdly shiny oil or lacquer stain on one circle half. We called customer service and they agreed to send us a replacement tabletop. The second tabletop still had issues. This time, the wood had a distinctly distressed look, which isn't evident in their online stock photos and wasn't found on the first tabletop. There were odd splotches of white ingrained in the wood across various patches of the tabletop. There was no consistency in the white splotches. It made the tabletop look very worn, when it should have been brand new. We contacted the customer service line again to see what they could do to resolve the situation. They refused to provide a discount, claiming this was just a natural part of the wood and that there were no defects. We completely disagree. They said we could swap for a 3rd tabletop due to "preference" but would be charged another delivery fee. Why should we have to pay a delivery fee for what could very well be another problematic tabletop? No thank you. We're done spending money on worn out furniture. My household was hoping to furnish our home with more items. From this awful experience, no future furniture will be coming from Living Spaces. Over an $800 tabletop, Living Spaces has lost themselves a return customer. We will be discouraging friends and family from purchasing from Living spaces. For those reading, you are better off going somewhere else for your furniture needs. Living Spaces' poor quality and even poorer phone customer service aren't worth the headache. Purchased our sofa a few years ago and we got duped into purchasing the Care Free Protection Plan. This was not an insignificant expense... about $200 extra on a $1500 sofa. But we have small kids so we figured it would be worth the expense as the salesperson told us, "they'll come clean it every week if need be!" Yeah, they lied... First time we tried to use it was a few months after purchase. Kids got some food on the couch (surprise!) and we weren't able to get it out. So we called the company and they directed us to file a claim. After a few days, they contacted us back and said that they could only send out a cleaning kit. It was a bottle of cleaning solution and a scrub, and it didn't work at all. So we filed another claim and after weeks of follow up, they finally sent someone out. They did a good job and we were happy. About a year goes by and we had another issue. So we tried to file another claim. But the website was having issues and it would input the date properly so we just clicked around until we got it filed. Well, in trying to get the website to work it apparently input a date outside of the timeframe that was allowable so they denied it. So we resubmitted the claim with the correct date and they denied it again. When we called to inquire, they said that our account was now flagged for trying to file FALSE CLAIMS. Because the website issues caused our first submission to have an incorrect date, they said that our policy was now void because we were trying to file false claims. That if we tried to continue, they would escalate and consider legal action. This sounded ridiculous to me as they were threatening me with legal action over a sofa warranty?! So I went to Living Spaces Monrovia and spoke with the manager there, James Wheeler. James assured me that he would take care of the issue personally as he's never heard of an issue like that with the protection plan. He said he would call with an update. Well, James didn't call... so I called him back after a week and he said he hadn't gotten anywhere yet. Called a month later and he promised me he had made progress but needed to get back to me. Months later, left a few messages with people as he would no longer pick up the phone for me. And that was that... about two years now and nothing. So, to summarize... the Care Free Protection Plan is basically bait and switch. They do whatever they can to get out of actually providing the service and then when there's a simple issue, they threaten you with legal accident. The store, and general manager, James Wheeler, promise to help but didn't do anything after many follow-up attempts. Stay away from companies like this with horrible ethics. read more

Extremely Frustrating Warranty Process - Longstanding Customers Left Without Sleep or Transparency We have been loyal Living Spaces customers for years and have spent tens of thousands of dollars there, including 3 beds and 4 mattresses over the last 5 years. Most recently, we invested nearly $3,000 in a Diamond Generations California King mattress. Unfortunately, this experience has been deeply disappointing. The mattress is clearly defective. There is a noticeable hump in the center, with both the left and right sides caving inward. We have not slept well in over a month, and the issue is impossible to ignore. After filing a warranty claim, it took 8 days for a third-party representative from Furniture Solutions Network to come out. The inspection process itself felt shockingly unscientific. The representative rolled around on the bed and used a string stretched diagonally to measure it. During the visit, he verbally acknowledged the hump in the center of the mattress. Based on that conversation, we reasonably assumed the report would confirm what we were experiencing. It did not. The claim was denied, despite clear visual evidence that the mattress is uneven and lopsided on both sides due to the center hump. To the point where both our inside shoulders are raised. (SEE PHOTO) What's even more troubling: We then asked for a copy of the inspection report for OUR mattress that we paid $3,000 for. We have been repeatedly denied access to this report. We contacted Diamond, the manufacturer, who were incredibly kind and willing to help. They said they would happily send someone out to reassess the mattress if they could review the original inspection report. When we relayed this to Living Spaces, we were again refused. We were told that Furniture Solutions Network "makes the warranty decisions" and the report would not be shared. So to summarize: * A $3,000 mattress is clearly defective * A third-party inspector verbally acknowledged the issue * The warranty was denied anyway * We are denied access to the inspection report on our own bed * The manufacturer wants to help but is blocked due to lack of transparency At this point, the most upsetting part is not even the defective mattress, it's the complete lack of transparency and accountability in the warranty process. If you are considering purchasing a mattress from Living Spaces, especially a higher-end one, I strongly encourage you to think carefully about what happens if something goes wrong. A warranty is only as good as the process behind it, and in our experience, this one has been exhausting, opaque, and deeply frustrating. Bought a recliner, asked if it's known for separating between the seats, they told us no. After just 4 months, there was already big gaps. Then we bought a bed. Upon delivery they did not have everything, I told them to take it back and delivery everything at once. They delivered again with missing parts still. At that point, my son was sleeping on the floor, so I refused the whole bed and told them to leave. The crew took off with my old mattress leaving my door open without a word to me and left the new one I refused. Then tried charging me for it. The store is good I like my items and have purchased all my furniture from LS but except this incident is on the warranty aspect of it. So I had a rip on my sofa and was told by an employee at LS that I am still covered. I looked up the warranty and it states that accidents are covered. I filed the claim on 1/23 and it said that I should get a response within 48-72 hours. I have yet to get a call or response from them. I called today and it states that my claim was denied. I asked to speak to a live person and I did. She looked it over and said that it wasn't an accident on how it happened. I said I told you exactly what happened. She states that it was not an accident and intentional. She gave me an example of what an accident would be and her example was oh my husband sat on the couch and he accidentally punctured a hole. "That's an accident" I said ok so should I have lied to you and said my husband sat there got up from the couch and he made a hole when he sat down? She said well yes. I was like this is ridiculous. LS warranty really sucks! These couches are only 2 years old and the stitching on the throw pillows are coming apart. I was extremely agitated when I was dealing with guest services which seemingly spun us around in circles with no conclusion, We were then directed to speak with someone in operations. We were very fortunate to be assisted by an employee named Taylor, who completely turned the situation around! Went to the establishment with my special education class and we were discriminated against and was told to enter the SIDE/BACK door instead of being allowed to enter through the main entrance LIKE EVERYONE ELSE because "they were impacting the kpi numbers" mind you... these kids are disabled and their store was DEAD. I do not really ever write reviews, but I felt the need to share my experience with this company. The in store experience was great, people were very helpful but there was kind of this competitiveness between some of the sales people. I ended up going with a custom couch that would have to be shipped to my new home out of state. It was pretty expensive for this whole thing. I got a custom color with accent pillows and was told that I have 24 hours to change the order. So I get home and about 3/4 hours later, I decide, I wanted to change out a color of one accent pillow, and that is where it all went down hill. I called and spoke to someone and said hey, I just want change out a pillow and go from this color to this color. The person on the phone said, sorry we can't do that. So I said I was told that I could change out something if it was in 24 hours of placing the order. She said, nope can't do it. So then I asked to speak to a supervisor, he then said that the only way that we could change this out would be to re-place the whole entire order! I said wow, unbelievable, but alright, let's do it. So we did...I placed my order in September and was told it would be 4 to 6 weeks to get. I then got called from the warehouse where the couch was shipped (mind you it was later than the 4 to 6 weeks) and was told there is something wrong with your shipment. So I called living spaces and they said sorry we can't help you, you need to call the warehouse. So I called the warehouse and they are like no, we have everything, but they are the wrong colors, part of the couch and ottomans are white, and part are the custom color, if that's how you want it, we can have our delivery folks send it. I said no, I want it all one color. So I called living spaces back and tell them what I found and they said sorry, it's going to take another 4 to 6 weeks to get this fixed. I said, I cannot wait another 4 to 6 weeks for this couch and the experience with you guys has been awful. Please cancel my order. They tell me they can't at first. Then they tell me fine, we will but you will have to pay a restocking fee. I told them why would I pay a restocking fee for their error. They said because that is what happens when you cancel an order. So then I thought I'll go ahead and fight this with synchrony, their credit card. I kept getting bills, $3000 here and another $3000 and then they finally refunded me all but just about $300 as their restocking fee. So now, I'm stuck paying this bill that was caused by their own error for a couch that I never received. Terrible customer service and a terrible company. What I received was a corporate "formula" response, "Thank you for contacting us, we apologize for any lack of clear communication.....blah, blah, blah". It contained polite sentences, but said essentially nothing. In short, my core concern/issue; being sold a mattress that, based on results, was Not appropriate for an adult's weight, was ignored. Whether man or women, if weighing 175lbs. means a mattress can't handle that weight and maintain form and comfort, the sales force should advise you accordingly. I then slept in the guest room on the barely used LS mattress from July thru this past September. With essentially only 3 months use, a bump w/depression formed and by mid-Sept., I concluded that the backache I was frequently waking up with was due to this mattress. My conclusion was verified when I went back to my Tempur Pedic and no backache! In the spirit of full disclosure, I am 5'5" and weigh 175 lbs. So though I am not a lightweight, according to the attached data from the CDC, I am well within the range of the average American Woman. My conclusion; any weight limit for this mattress and others, should be prominent and prospective buyers should be told. This mattress may be suitable for a young child, but definitely NOT an adult, and in the future, potential buyers should be advised accordingly about a weight limitation. In the past few years, most of our "big" furniture has been purchased at this Living Spaces, for both indoor and outdoor. We are always happy with the quality and service. I also like to shop their clearance section for decorative knickknacks I wouldn't otherwise consider. I have purchased holiday decor, outdoor pillows, and other items that add that final touch, at a great price. There was only one time out of a dozen when service was not what we expected. And even then, it was specific to a single associate and didn't affect the overall experience. There is ample parking. The store's interior is clean and associates approach you to offer assistance but don't hover like vultures as I've witnessed at other furniture stores. Customer Service is excellent. read more

I was told they can do 0% financing and they asked me for my private information such as social security number. I wasn't ready to buy at the time, but they were creating a cart for me of items I was thinking to buy, and they told me they could get me approved for 0% financing ahead of time with that information. They did NOT tell me that they would be opening up a credit card in my name. I did not end up purchasing the items in the next three days, only to have a credit report notify me that a credit card was opened in my name. If I wasn't subscribed to that, then LIVING SPACES WOULD HAVE NEVER NOTIFIED ME THAT THEY OPENED A CREDIT CARD FOR ME IN MY NAME. It's ridiculously shady and scammy that they do not tell you this stuff. I purchased a couch from here a few months back. I specifically wanted back cushions that had removable covers so I could wash them as I have a dog that sheds. Well a few months in owning this couch, I decided to wash the covers. When I unzipped them I found they were full of clumps of filling rather than a removable filling. Meaning in order to wash the covers you have to make a huge mess in your house pulling out hunks of filling and trying to stuff them back in somehow afterwards. ON TOP OF THAT, the covers started unraveling at the seams after the first time I washed them on gentle cycle. Very disappointed in Living Spaces. We ordered our couch and other furniture from this store. When we ordered we told them we had a very specific need for a delivery date as this is for a second residence. They ASURED us the couch was in stock and would be delivered no problem. Two days before delivery after we had already made plans and taken days off work, they call us and tell us it is back ordered. A few years ago I furnished my whole apartment at living spaces including the purchase of a living room table with a lift. At the time I was convinced into adding the 5-year extended warranty with ample promises regarding its robust coverage. Fast forward, a few years later and now the lifting mechanism is going out and Living Spaces has denied my claim because I notified them within 31 days of the issue rather than 30 despite having years of warranty left in my plan! What a joke, what is the point of a 5 year warranty? In the future I will gladly look to Ashley furniture, La-z-boy, or At Home for my furniture needs. read more

Truth be told, I really only like "shopping" for furniture or home decor on Pinterest....it's a passive, fantasy based endeavor where only my opinion matters and wins, 100% of the time! LOL...that said, the reality is we need new couches. 9 years, two dogs, and two kids later -- it's safe to say that our couch has been through stuff and things. Reluctantly, I came with hubby...more like he brought me in tow to look for something that we would all be happy with. Admittedly, I am not an easy customer....but George was great -- super helpful, tolerated my questions, helped allay my concerns for future stains and wear and tear. Overall it was a pleasant experience....I credit George for that! read more
