You are able to customize everything-- such as size, layout, number of seats, sofa legs, arm width, size of cushion, and fabric. There are A LOT of fabrics to choose from. If you see a couch online that you like, consider going to their showroom and asking for a quote. Marina (one of the managers) is fantastic and will work with you to get the best price. However, make sure you have some measurements ready (length of the entire sofa/ length of the chaise, seat depth, etc). I did purchase a sofa from here. They are not inexpensive, but you do get to personalize every aspect. How much fluff. What kind of fluff(or no fluff). What shape of every part, layout, color, texture. It really is a truly customizable experience. I'm happy with the product. I can't give a 5 because there were a few hiccups on communication starting on the first visit and going to the end. We had been to every furniture store we could think of looking for a sectional to fit our precise room measurements and desires, and had just about given up. We wanted great quality and durability, but we also needed something in a hurry (our house had burned down in Altadena, and we were trying to put a home together as quickly as we could). We were literally walking toward the parking lot to leave old town Pasadena when I said, hey, what about that sofa place on Green Street? It was Sofa U Love, and we just cannot be more pleased that we gave it a chance. We walked in, saw a sofa we absolutely loved, and they were able to make it to our exact specifications down to lowering the back cushions by an inch. The quality is absolutely on a par with restoration hardware where we did a lot of our furniture shopping, but the price was better and they even threw in a little bit of a discount because we were fire victims. I literally spent several months looking for the perfect sofa. I'm very particular about what I like- Especially for a sofa since I'll spend so much time in it. I went into Sofa U Love once and eventually circled back around and gave them a shot. I mean, if you can't find what you're looking for, just have someone custom make it right? I was initially a little apprehensive because I never ordered a custom sofa before and didn't know how that would go. Check some stuff out in person, order it, but what if it arrives and it's not the same or I don't like it ect? There's something to sitting on the actual thing you're buying, so it made me a little nervous. But I loved everything about the place and the customer service was top notch so I decided to give it a shot and boy was I happy I did. First of all, their customer service is amazing. Second of all, you can customize just about anything. Third of all, down the line, you can have them alter or adjust anything you want. Like, if there's any issue down the road, they can fix it. If you decide you want to change the fabric to do different color, they can do that. How many sofa places do you know that offer that? When you order from them, you basically have a sofa partner for life if you want/need it. There's some real peace of mind there. And ps, the price isn't that bad for a sofa in general and these are custom high quality sofas that will last 15+ years. Good luck finding a better deal. Ya get what ya pay for. And you pay extra for custom work, although, if you compare custom sofa shops, their prices are extremely competitive. I'd post the price, but it's a bit irrelevant since it depends on what you need. I worked with Shelly the whole time and the experience was amazing from start to finish. She's very friendly, actually puts the customer first (which is rare these days), and is very smart. I wanted to get a 96" sofa and knowing I lived in Pasadena she recommended that I double check the elevator height first. I did, and whoops, the sofa wouldn't have fit haha. I measured it for the stairs and figured out a new length. I asked Shelly what would happen if I measured wrong and it didn't fit up the stairs and I can't get it in my place and she said no problem, we'll re-measure, bring it back to the factory and trim it to a size that will fit (there would have been a small fee fyi). Who does that? No one. That's amazing. The sofa and ottoman ended up arriving about a month earlier than expected which was extra amazing. The only bad experience I had in this whole process was that one of the drivers was incredibly rude. After the delivery, I let Shelly know and she apologized profusely. Later in the day, I got a call from the owner Vincent and he personally apologized to me. I couldn't believe that. You know it's a good company when the owner does stuff like that. It starts at the top. Clearly I just caught some annoyed delivery guy at the wrong time. Sometimes those things happen. An outlier of the whole experience. I had the sofa for a few days, and the back cushions of the sofa was starting to hurt my back because there was too much filling in it. My back is very sensitive and I need a very soft back pillow to sink into. I'm sure some people would like a more firm back pillow. Anyways, I called Shelly and asked if there was anything we can do about it and she said no problem, we'll pick it up and take some of the filling out (and they didn't charge for this, by the way). They grabbed it, brought it back to the factory, took some filling out, and within about 3 days, I had the back cushions back and they were sooooo comfortable. That totally did the trick. I love the sofa. It's beautiful, comfortable, the whole experience is amazing, and I love how I have the peace of mind that if there's some sort of issue I can hit them up. Not only are they a custom sofa place that can do basically whatever you need, they have the customer service and management that are eager to do whatever they can to help make your experience perfect. This review is late! But - we had a couch built with Marina's (at the Western location) help about 15 years ago. It was great and held up well. Eight months ago we made the decision to get it recovered. We contacted Marina (now at the Pasadena location). We received our sectional in January, but immediately, I felt like the cushions didn't fit the frame properly. Vincent offered to come to our home in Valencia and completely rectified the situation by replacing the entire sofa. There are no words for this kind of customer service - and I am very grateful to him. My mind was further put at ease when he allowed me to see the new couch in the warehouse before it was delivered back to us. What a difference from the Corona Del Mar store! I live in the Corona Del Mar area and have purchased several pieces from the store. I had an issue and the manager at that store was extremely rude. I had to purchase something else from them so I decided to drive an hour away to get to the Pasadena store, because I would Not give CDM the business again. Last year I was on the hunt for the perfect couch, and I am glad to say I found it! I had a very specific vision in mind of what I wanted, and Shelli at Sofa U Love helped us create the perfect couch for my apartment. Shelli helped us with every detail and we came up with exactly what I wanted. I was able to make all the specifications I wanted, including the exact fabric (I'm very picky when it comes to color), the width of the arms, the number of cushions and pillows, and even how firm or soft the couch cushion would be! The delivery came promptly on time as well. The couch is so comfortable that I shirked my bed for a few days as I found the couch was comfier! We were also able to order an accompanying ottoman and Shelli helped us pick the perfect size for it and get all the details exactly how I wanted them. My sofa is just not a as cozy and comfy as I'd hoped. And they've made a lot of mistakes. They at first gave me the wrong pillows, it was suppose to be 90% down and 10% feather but they did The opposite. I called and they sent new back pillows that are fine but replaced the seat cushion with foam with a tiny bit of down. It just feels like foam. Not at all comfy. The sofa leans slightly forward so you always feel like your sliding off. I asked them to send me new legs that would raise the front but I still haven't received that. I wish I had just bought a sofa from a regular store. read more

Update 2/4/19 Since my review Vincent has made an exceptional effort to resolve the situation. He personally came over to my home to remeasure my couch and to check out the problem with the fabric. My cushion covers have now been replaced. I will be reviewing again in a few months in hopes the pilling on the fabric does not occur again. Very pleased with their efforts to resolve my problem. January 19 I owned a couch from Sofa U Love for over 15 years and it was just perfect and held up well after many washings and was super comfortable. So last year I went back to have a larger custom made sectional done for my new home. Lilia helped me and was very easy to work with. I had one custom made to very exact measures and it fit perfectly and was very comfortable. Unfortunately within a few weeks the fabric I selected started pilling and made it look very cheap and unsightly, even friends commented that it didn't look like a new couch. I called Lilia and she helped me get replacement covers. The covers came in and one was the wrong size, but I tucked it in and filed a complaint. They promised to replace it and after a few calls I never heard back from them. Then the new covers started pilling just like the old ones after a few weeks. I don't do anything abnormal to my cushions and they wore and pilled horribly. I told this to Lilia but never heard back. There are some pros and cons to this place but the con of not trying to fix a problem has me very unhappy with my $4,000 sectional. For me it was A LOT to spend on a couch that I hoped to enjoy for at least a decade but will probably seek to replace with something else at a big financial loss. read more

I purchased my Large Beautiful three-piece sectional from SOFA U LOVE, delivered January, 2020. Paid $5500 cash. We have two adults only at this address. Since Covid, no visitors.I always sit on the left chaise, my husband sits in the middle. Unfortunately, in April-May,2020, I heard noises on the left chaise, but for some reason didn't think anything of it. I also noticed my Roomba getting stuck under the left chaise. Soon after I was rotating my left chaise cushion with my right chaise cushion, when I noticed, a protruding hump on top of the left chaise under the cushion. I continued to remove cushions and there was also a hump in the middle section. When I looked under the left chaise,the springs were protruding out. During my search two of the cushion feather slipcover's also had scissor cuts in them,releasing feathers.I immediately called SOFA U LOVE and left a message. Vincent returned my call immediately. From the start to the finish, he worked diligently to get my sofa repaired,he crossed every "T"and dotted every "I". He was extremely efficient and very patient! His customer service was at it's best! I am looking forward to having many years with this sofa, so extremely comfortable! I'm also looking forward to have Vincent on the sidelines just in case! We had an idea of what we wanted, but Liz really helped us put everything together ( the fabric, arm height, depth) to create a beautiful, very comfortable sofa. EDIT: After seeing my unhappy review, the owner reached out to me. He offered me a (ridiculously) small refund ($100 on a $3750 item) and two throw pillows. I didn't need the pillows but kept them as backup. I mostly appreciated his gesture and decided to update my review accordingly. My sofa really is beautiful so if you want to risk the nightmare I went through, I agree they can do excellent work. Original review: Net-net, I got the sofa of my dreams from these people. But it was literally the biggest shopping nightmare of my LIFE. The sales associate said "we can make anything you want, anything you can imagine." Fine. So when I just wanted one of their pre-designed models, but a few inches smaller, I didn't imagine it would be a problem. It was. The couch was smaller, but the cushions were too big. I had to send it back. (This isn't like returning a package to Amazon; it's returning a COUCH.) This happened FOUR TIMES. They forced me to come up to their showroom in Hollywood (on my own time!) to have a look at it before they brought it out. Why couldn't they see for themselves that the cushions were too big? Of course, when I pointed it out, they were like, of course, how did we miss that? A couch that I was promised would take two weeks took months, and my living room was empty the whole time. (Except when they gave me an old, slightly gross "loaner couch" from their showroom that clearly a million people had sat on.) Then there was the pillow problem. I ordered down-substitute because we're vegan. One day, I notice feathers popping out of my pillows. WTF. They replaced them for me but that doesn't do any good for the birds that were already killed to make the first pillows. I purchased an oversized chair from this store a few years ago. Whether it came this way and I didn't notice it, or over time it had lost filling, the cushion was sagging in the middle, making the chair uncomfortable to sit in. Fortunately I had kept my purchase receipt, so I took the cushion into the store and showed them the receipt. I would have been happy to have additional filling put in, but unfortunately that is not how they are made, it is a single piece and is sewn shut. The store person who assisted me, Lilia, said she would ask the owner if they would be able to replace the filling, but it would cost $150. Since the cushion was pretty useless to me in the shape I brought it, I was fine to pay the $150, especially since it had been some time since I bought it. The store owner, Vincent, did so much more, they gave me a new cushion, FREE OF CHARGE! This is the third piece of furniture I have purchased from them (in addition to 2 sofas) and I could not be happier with the products or service. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Let's start at the beginning - 5 stars!!! Yes, definitely had a ***** 5-star experience throughout the shopping, selection, and ordering process. Liz, who runs the Pasadena location, is AMAZING. Liz is incredibly personable, accessible, professional, and altogether the kind of salesperson you hope to find everywhere, but sadly, seldom found. ** 2 Stars for wonky customer service from the factory end. Nearly 2 weeks before the delivery date, my wife called to ask if we could move the delivery date up one day, to accommodate a vacation schedule we were putting together. She spoke with 2 different people and were assured this would be no problem. Fast forward to the new delivery date....waiting....calling....calling...calling...we both spoke to several different people and discovered that the previous request either never made it to the builders, or it was an out and out lie. Either way, extremely wonky, disorganized, and frustrating. ** 2 Stars for delivery. Yes, free delivery, but really, is it free? You KNOW we are paying for it. At any rate, guys showed up, literally the first words out of the mouth was, "sofa?" (limited vocabulary apparently, and NO customer service training). Yeah, I thought, we ordered a sofa...but we're a little disillusioned by this point, so this better be good. We ordered a sectional so the first piece comes in, mauling the Plumeria on our front porch on the way in, and the guys proceed to more or less drop it down on our new hardwood floors. Really? Are you guys in THAT big of a hurry? I had to say something...come on, I know we didn't pay for "white glove" (whatever that means) - but I do expect a little TLC for a $3K piece of furniture...and this is my HOUSE, not a bar. Lastly, the couch had lint ALL over it, had to vacuum and the skirt of the slip cover is/was extremely wrinkled. Again, I just don't understand how a business wouldn't WANT to incorporate more service into this part of the experience. After all, it's arguably the biggest part. I know people would really appreciate it. So yeah, a couple of dust busters and perhaps a carefully folded slip cover put on AFTER delivery, so the whole couch doesn't look cheap from the get go...might really be cool! There it is. I promised a review, and all of the above makes for 3 stars overall. I really do wish I could do more as the first round with Liz the salesperson was just awesome.
