We found Helena's business through a local community Facebook group and my husband decided to reach out to her to get a quote for a few custom pieces. Their prices were competitive and great for solid wood furniture. Richard put together drawings of our furniture pieces with measurements and double checked with us before their carpenters got to work on it. Since our pieces were large and we needed a built-in look for the hallway cabinets, Richard drove out to us himself (since we were local enough to them) to remeasure everything to be sure the measurements were accurate. Sure enough, some measurements needed to be adjusted and thanks to Richard, our pieces fit perfectly when they were delivered. Before delivery, Helena allowed us time to go check out the pieces at the warehouse to ensure we were happy with how they looked. Her carpenter team patiently broke the pieces down and delivered them and installed them all for us. Helena always communicated with us and allowed us to choose our own paint and doorknobs (which we had delivered to her and her carpenter installed). The pieces speak for themselves. We got 2 custom linen cabinets and a Murphy bed (with sliding bookshelves at the front). The Murphy bed was inspired by one we found online (that wasn't solid wood). I decided to extend the kitchen cabinets with a coffee bar and broom closet. I went to the cabinet place that did my kitchen 7 years ago and I went to Ikea. I'm never one to leave reviews unless the product and service is exemplary and let me just say I'm so happy I came across Helena and Borboleta decors! I was stressed about not having found the perfect bunk bed for my daughters (everything on the internet is made with that cheap pressed wood) and I needed something sturdy that would last as well as aesthetically pleasing. I searched and searched for months and I'm glad I was patient and waited until I came across Borboleta Decors! I told Helena what I needed of the bed (twin size with the option to add a trundle in the future ) and she quickly sent me a mock up photo and adjusted the captains ladder to save space and still allow us to add the trundle in the future . Lovely monastery table, the craftsmen executed our design instructions for its construction beautifully and the stain is perfect. If you know exactly what you want they can do it. Too early to see how well it holds up but the pricing is very reasonable considering the laminate garbage they sell out there for astronomical costs. Nothing beats solid wood, I know I know it's heavy, but it's worth it for a forever home. Also their delivery guy Adam was outstanding. We were looking for a wall unit with two build in desks. After shopping around and really not finding what we liked, I saw a beautiful wall unit with one desk on Etsy, so I reached out to inquire about custom work and Helena was the person we talked to via e-mail and text. We told her what we wanted and provided a sketch and measurements. Helena provided quotes for different wood types and we picked maple with a 'Spalted Maple' stain. We received in between picture and final pictures, before we picked it up. At no point from the first inquiry to picking it up was any stress. The wall units is build sturdy with solid, good wood. I ordered and paid for four (4) items. #1 & 2 - Two (2) Queen Beds frames with drawers underneath. To hold a queen mattress #3 - Dining Table #4 - Two (2) 16 inch x 80 inch barn doors When I received the items, the two queen beds (#1&2) are unusable as there was no connecting hardware or pre-drilled holes and bolts to assemble the beds. They are unusable. I cannot connect the headboard or footboard to the siderails. There is no support for the drawer sections in the middle. There is no way to assemble them. Further, they were nothing like the description and they quality of the wood is atrocious. There are numerous dents and holes in the wood that are not "imperfections in the wood" and they were ordered painted and the paint was put on minutes before shipping, therefore coming off in transit. The dining table (#3) has numerous dents and missing paint that are not "wood imperfections" as it has to do with the quality of manufacture and paint job. The barn doors (#4) were missing and never received. This is in addition to paying $1000 for shipping, but there are missing items and I had to pay the shipper an additional $300 to delay his departure 12 hours because the vendor was never available for pick up even after making appointments to pick the items up. For three days the shipper went to pick the items up and each time no one answered the door. On the final day, after trying for three days, he arrived to find the employees painting the items. The vendor has lied throughout the process. I requested resolution with two options. Option #1 - The vendor hire someone to fix all the finish problems and fabricate hardware to make the beds usable, repair all the damages, re-paint all the items AND ship me my missing barn doors. Option #2 - Provide a full refund of all monies paid and shipping costs because items delivered are unusable. Vendor refuses to honor agreement for Two Beds, Two Barn Doors and Table and also refuses chose one of the two solutions. Now Borboleta Decors is indicating that their "policy" indicates once ordered, you can only get a 50% refund IF I send the items back. So, as that is written, they could have shipped me a box of broken 1/2 inch sticks and unless I return their box of sticks, they won't refund anything. They even tried to get me to order more furniture telling me there was a "special" so I should order more. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM. Borboleta Decors Lied throughout everything after I ordered and paid for items. They won't accept responsibility for numerous lies, furniture that is COMPLETELY unusable, horrible finishes and now I would need to pay an additional $1000 in shipping to get 1.5k back.... They are a scam. BEWARE. I am going to sue in small claims court, but I just want to warn others, BEWARE.... read more

We ordered a full size loft bed for our 5 year old daughter and she loves it. Helena and Richard were extremely helpful and returned all my calls in less than 24 hours. They were able to customize the bed to suit our needs. We have an 8 foot ceiling and had to lower the dimensions of the playhouse so that the top of the bed would not be too close to the ceiling. We were also able to customize were the staircase went and what color we wanted the playhouse. I would definitely recommend this place. read more

I ordered a huge custom dresser with 10 drawers, 48" high and 70" wide. It was delivered today, and I love it. I had the bottom drawer made extra deep, and now my husband and I can put all our foldable clothes in this dresser. Other "large" dressers were always too small for two people's clothes. In this one, my husband and I have all our clothes sorted by item and season! Summer stuff and winter stuff are actually separated! No stuff sitting on top because the dresser's too small! We got the alder veneer in cherry, and it really is a beautiful piece. There are metal slides for the drawers, and they are soft close. Also, the delivery man and his son could not have been nicer. I would have paid thousands more for a dresser this size from Restoration Hardware. This was a great purchase all around, and Helena was very nice and responsive from start to finish.
