The furniture is beautifully arranged with a mix of colors and antiques make this store unique and special. I love every single piece that I saw . This place is THE BEST ! I love this place for many reasons. The style of furniture and home decor is so unique that you can spend an hour or more just looking at the inventory. All the items are Middle Eastern or from India, and all are one of a kind and handcrafted. If you love Moroccan architecture then this place is for you. The prices are quite steep, but the owners have a layaway plan and are extremely helpful and friendly. If you want to have a unique, beautiful piece of furniture displayed somewhere in the house, then you have to check this place out! Gosh, I wish I had more money so I could deck out my whole house with De-Cor's (and it's smaller 'sister' store, Livin' Art) decor. After my friend, Dawn, introduced me to Livin' Art some time ago (where she bought an incredibly beautiful distressed turquoise blue coffee table), she had heard about De-Cor from her friends over at Livin' Art. Dawn needed some curtains, lighting fixtures, etc. so off we headed to De-Cor. The people who work at both Livin' Art and De-Cor are absolutely lovely and helpful. They have brought some of the most beautiful pieces of Indian furniture right here to Pasadena. Sure, some of the sticker prices may shock you. But where do you think you are - generic Ikea?! Most (if not all) of these pieces are handmade beautiful pieces of art. All things considered, everything in here is very reasonably priced. As Judy S says below, you really can find all sorts of treasures for a variety of prices. If you're looking for ANYTHING to add some spice and charm to your house, from furniture to throw pillows to beautiful scarves, head to De-Cor. go immediately! this store is SPECTACULAR! from the moment i entered i felt welcomed and transported to another land. amazing furniture from china, japan, india, and africa. it's a light filled space with big windows and mature plants all over. i was really tempted to lounge on an indian daybed with a cup of tea in one hand and a book in the other. i ended buying a bunch of carvings from china, two chairs from india, and an african mudcloth from mali, just to name a few. i'm going back the minute in a month or two to buy more because everything was gorgeous, unique, and affordable! so... run, don't walk! a hole in the wall oasis. read more

Pasadena needed a store like this. Beautiful furniture and accessories. However, to the best of my knowledge these are not antiques. The furniture may be made with antique pieces or made to look antique but I don't believe these are all antique pieces. Also, they are overpriced especially for their accessories. One could go on ebay and buy the same props for a quarter of the price. But if you want a large selection and are willing to pay you can find many beautiful pieces here. Not everything is overpriced, some is quite reasonable. But I have seen the same pieces at other stores that were priced lower. read more

I'm so happy I found this store. It had furniture that I really hadn't seen around and the store itself look so vibrant full of colors, textures and character. The bench I selected was repurposed from an antique paneled box and it still had remnants of the original painted finish, it worked perfectly in my patio. They also have unique lanterns and colorful pillows made from vintage throws which I'm sure I'll be using in the near future . My latest purchase was an antique carved panel and reclaimed teak picture frames which are currently adorning my living room. I strongly recommend it, it's definitely worth the trip :) read more

Each time I return for decorating ideas or to see what else they have available to beautify our home I fall in love all over again.. and again.. and again! I first fell in love with their smaller shop in South Pasadena. If you venture into that location you'll meet my decorating expert Juhi. She has a wonderful eye for decorating and will show you amazing pieces that will compliment what you have in your home. Recently I worked with her and she created beautiful handmade curtains for our kitchen and living space. They are absolutely stunning! I got the materials from Decor and then worked with Juhi to custom make them for us. I don't regret one cent I spent!!! Totally worth it! I've had other purchase... a stunning torquoise wood table, 2 beautiful hand crafted chairs for our living space and a wonderful orange ceiling light for our kitchen.... believe me I'm NOT done shopping from this place! I absolutely love the unique rustic pieces this store offers. After moving into our new home several years ago, we were looking for a few special pieces to fill our mostly empty space. I went in, found a reclaimed wood window from India, and they custom designed it into a table based on my size specifications. The piece turned out beautiful and, after adding 2 hot pink club chairs, it became my dedicated jigsaw puzzle workspace. Wish we needed more furniture - I'd be back there in a flash! read more

I love this store. There are so many different things to look at for inspiration within your home. At Christmas time, they have affordable gifts and put them in pretty packages. I have been here several times to purchase candles, scarves, and small things to give away as presents. Prices vary so there are things to scale to each person's budget depending on what you need. The beautiful bold colors really push you out of your comfort zone when it comes to decor, which is something I needed. Restaurants have menus because we all have different tastes and I guess De-Cor just isn't my plate of pad thai. The store reminded me of no more than Pier One or World Market -- but if someone had gone through those stores with a Sharpie and added two or three zeroes to every price tag. As a residential interior designer, I often have the chance to work with different styles. I took one of my clients, a wonderful Indian lady, to shop at DeCor, and we had a great experience. The store is packed with exquisite finds, antiques, and colorful light fixtures. The fabric selection is also stunning. I purchased a couple of antique carvings from India, and with the help of the DeCor furniture maker I had them adapted into a shelf for the area above the fireplace and a furniture piece for the prayer area. I also purchased a few glass lanterns for the master bedroom. I was pleased with the selection of items and the customer service, and I would definitely return to this store. read more

This store redefines fusion. Months ago i stopped in at the original, smaller store (Livin' Art) in South Pas looking for corner shelving. i walked out with an ancient, authentic, beautiful camel saddle which stands angled at a corner of my living room and holds everything an open shelf would hold, only better. The new, larger De-Cor is all that surprising, but more - architectural pieces of old buildings and actual castles merged with beautifully treated woods to becomes tables, chairs, beds, side pieces, compelling mirrors, sinks, coffee tables...textiles, small wooden pieces, even antique toys -- a child's rocking elephant (!) with a missing tusk. I have paid $39.00 and i have paid $3,000 - every piece, large or small, lifts the heart and opens the mind. Go see, is what i say - everything there is of value and works with the most modern of other furniture. No one's going to push or keep on you. Trust them, ask them, browse. they show, they answer, they display, and they retreat so that you can think. They trust their pieces to do the work. read more

Rude. Saw an interesting photo online with some suzani pillows and decided to stop by and take a look. My daughter and I were followed through the store by a woman working there. At one point I sat down on a day bed and asked my daughter to sit with me to tell me what she thought. As we sat, the woman came over and banged something into the day bed. I was turned the other way and am not sure what it was. There was no apology or comment of any kind. This is not a super small space and it was clear this was not accidental. Very odd and very rude. I have known of and worked with De-Cor here in Pasadena, California for several years now. Previously I have worked in theatre design and have a masters in architecture. The space that De-Cor presently occupies is a very interesting one in which to display their unique pieces of furniture, lighting, textiles and larger architectural arches, windows and columns. They are forever getting in new stock and rearranging the space, thus revealing and creativing new and fascinating ways to utilize and portray their items. They are quite knowledgable about the origin of and details about their pieces. The owner is from India and well versed in the histories of her most unusual pieces. They can and will do custom work, if a client has special needs. I am frequently taking both friends and clients to De-Cor to show them the beautiful space and to see items not seen elsewhere in this area. They and I both come away with smiles and more frequently than not, items to long treasure. I highly recommend De-Cor. They also work often and well with folks who are not in the Pasadena area.
